Chapter Text
The sea crashed against the shore. Morgan stood staring out at the horizon. The breeze ruffled her short brown hair and the sunrise glinted in her brown eyes. If someone looked at her they'd see someone entirely at peace, but she wasn't.
There was an inner turmoil within her. She replayed the past few months over and over in her head. Everything made sense. Nothing made sense. She was happy. She was hurt. She was a paradox.
She had come down to the ocean in an attempt to calm herself. She begged the clear blue water to offer her some clarity. Alex had come back, so why was she still hurt by the fact he had left? He brought her along to Cancun, paid for the beautiful vacation home behind her, and made sure there was more than one bed.
Morgan sat down, wrapping her arms around her knees and resting her head on them. She closed her eyes. She'd slept much better since Alex's return but she was still exhausted from the countless sleepless nights. She dozed off into her memories.
