your bed after traveling

Jungkook just barely manages to ditch his shoes, toeing them off and kicking them to the side before he runs inside. He makes a beeline for the bed, diving into it and landing spread-eagled. Seokjin watches him go and tsks loudly when he plops onto his bed and half-disappears into the puffy folds of the comforter.

“Ya, Jeon Jungkook,” he chides. “Get changed first, at least. Getting your outside clothes' germs all over my sheets, you little punk.”

“Too tired, hyung,” Jungkook groans into the sheets, even goes as far as to rub his face into the feather down. Seokjin sighs as he approaches him. He stops at the foot of the bed, prods one long finger into Jungkook’s calf until the boy bounces his leg up and down with a whine. “I’m napping,” he cries out when Seokjin wraps a hand around his ankle and tugs.

“Jungkook-ah,” Seokjin says. “Come on, this isn’t like you. You should shower. I’m going to shower. And I better have new sheets on my bed before I come back.”

“You should nap,” Jungkook counters. His voice comes out muffled and Seokjin cringes at the thought of Jungkook’s mouth slobbering all over his mattress.

“Shower first, nap later. The flight was long, I feel gross. You are gross.”

Jungkook flips onto his back and Seokjin’s arm twists with him, still connected to the boy’s leg. Seokjin stumbles before he can let go, lands with his hands pressed into the mattress on either side of Jungkook’s waist. Jungkook is looking up at Seokjin with a frown. His hair is half in his eyes and half splayed across the hills of Seokjin’s comforter and his eyes are puffy from sleepless hours in recycled air. He looks suddenly young again like this, Seokjin thinks, looks like he’s still carrying his childhood around in the lining of his coat. Still stuffing his hands, already sticky with the melt of his favorite popsicles, into Seokjin’s pockets to look for spare change for corner store ramyeon. Still asking around for his hyung any chance he could get.

Jungkook lifts his arms up, inviting, and Seokjin rolls his eyes but he still clambers into the hug. Jungkook manhandles him under the covers and tucks Seokjin’s head under his chin. Seokjin listens to the gentle ebbing of Jungkook’s breathing and thinks, only a few minutes in, that he’s really fallen asleep. But he speaks again, quiet in the shadows, soft around the edges. “Am I really gross, hyung?”

Seokjin’s breathes out a laugh, burrows his face further into Jungkook’s shoulder. “Never.”
