Chapter Text
It has been a few days since their last job – since her not remembering things, him.
Dean.
If she closed her eyes, she could see the hurt on his face. And she couldn’t explain why, but at that moment, she felt her heart broke for him. She was feeling bad for a total stranger. Was he, though?
She sighed, rubbing her tired eyes with her fingertips. Slowly, she got up from her bed, knowing she wouldn’t be able to sleep anymore. She had nowhere to go at that time of the night, so she decided to look at what was supposed to be her room. She started to dig around between the drawers. She didn’t find much, not that she knew what to look for exactly.
She was about to give up when she accidentally knocked over one of the books on her desk. She bent over to pick it up when something caught her attention. A picture slipped between the pages of the book. She carefully picked it up and moved closer to the light of the lamp to inspect it better.
It was her and Dean in the backseat of a car.

They were on their way home from a supply run when it started to rain. It was just a few drops at first until they could barely see what was in front of them. It’s the way they found themselves stuck in the middle of nowhere, waiting for the storm to pass.
She found herself on the backseat of the Impala, her back pressed against Dean’s chest. His arms secured around her middle, trying to keep each other warm.
“Did I tell you how much I hate rain?” she pouted.
Dean chuckled, nuzzling his nose against her temple.
“Just four times in the last two seconds.”
“Whatever…” she mumbled, unimpressed.
“Well, I don’t mind a little bit of rain if it means to be stuck here with you…” he admitted in a whisper.
She smiled at that and knew that he was blushing without needing to turn back.
“We should take a picture.”
She said while fishing for her phone from her pocket.
“Wait, what?” he asked, taken aback.
“A picture of I and you. We don’t have many of those, and I wanna remember.”
She explained while opening the camera and pointing towards them.
“I wanna remember us.”
She whispered, ready to take the shoot when Dean bent down to kiss at her forehead, making her smile.

She stared at the picture in her hands, slowly caressing their shapes with her fingertips. A small smile crept on her lips at that small memory. It wasn’t much, but it was something. She seemed happy, while Dean seemed different from the person that she had met. She brought her fingers to her temple, gently stroking her skin there. She swore she could feel his lips on her.
She silently thanked her old self for taking that picture. At that moment, she was sure she wanted to remember again, more than ever.
She wanted to remember him.
