"Hyunsung...."
'If I knew from the start, that this would happen... Will I still approach you?'
"... You're kidding right...?"
'Even if I knew... Maybe I would still have smiled to you just the same... Maybe I shouldn't have pushed you to much... Maybe I should haven't acted that much hard to get type of person to you.'
"Please... Hyunsung, say something."
'That eerie smile on your face... No, you shouldn't smile like that. The role of a villain never suited you, you are my hero. I chose you to be a hero. So why...?'
"Kiyoung... This was the answer. This is the right answer... Now, just close your eyes and I will take care of everything."
'You should have stabbed me, and then none of this would have happened. Taking advantage of this rag doll body, actually preventing my soul to leave this body with a skill I developed for you... Hyunsung, you shouldn't have been this twisted.'
This is a lie... I'm sure of it. So the image right in front of me, isn't real.
Those cold eyes yet a languid smile befalls on your lips. A glimmer of threat and murder behind your pupils. The shining gold we shared, now tainted. Behind you is the vast array of foreign colours that painted the continent's skies.
And you now, envelop me in your arms. Hiding my small frame at your wide thick chest. Clearly blocking my view, holding me firm as I try to struggle.
When have my cries stopped reaching you?
When have you stopped believing me?
When have you decided to stoop this low?
To leave our comrades, our blue guild, the people of this continent, all of it just for me.
Hyunsung... Please... Please tell me this is all just a dream.
----- Hyunsung then proceeds to block Kiyoung's ears as the said male wailed and scream and try to punch his chest to run away. Yet he was stronger as he felt no pain from the weak struggles.
----- The world cries their names. The hearts of their comrades fallen. Eyes unable to believe what unfolded before them. Benignore, Dialugia, Belial and the four angels stared silently to one another. The other deities as well fell silent, cursing under their breathe as they entrusted the continent's future to two unstable humans.
Hyunsung closed his eyes as he travel to a space Lucifer made for them. Kiyoung fell asleep within his arms, tired from his struggles and weak attempts to escape.
The regressor instruction manual continued to change. Lee Kiyoung's soul was now completely linked into the rag doll. He could only be killed by Kim Hyunsung. He could not harm himself. They would no longer age as they share the same kind of magic. All aftereffects from the heavy toll of divine magic was now nullified.
Hyunsung held a serene smile as he softly brush Kiyoung's hair. The yells of the people falling deaf to his ears, the burdens of bonds except Kiyoung's was erased and their connection to the world outside was now cut off.
He gently laid Kiyoung's body at the prepared abode. A bird cage big enough to fit a whole villa. A cage with a sea within it, forest, sunlight and even some birds.
A quiet paradise for them to share together.
Hyunsung held a quiet smile as he peck on Kiyoung's forehead, "You are free from the responsibilities you were made to bear, those bastards that burden and hurt you are all dead. I wanted to kill them myself but, securing your safety was more important."
The dungeon "Where the Son of Light Died" is now cleared. The cost was the continent's destruction, the reward was an eternal paradise for Hyunsung with his Kiyoung.
-------
"AHHHHHH!" Kiyoung yelled out as he kicked the blanket he was covered with. Gasping as a headache ghost over his head but quickly vanish.
The sunlight almost blinding him as he covered the view with his hands. Getting accustomed to the new place as he try to recollect his thoughts.
'The continent!' He quickly remembered the events that unfolded.
Hyunsung was supposed to kill him to finish the scenario but as they were about to. Song, that evil bastard took his eyes and heart from his corpse making Hyunsung snap in fury.
Then...
"Hah... Hah... No way... Is it really...?" He looked around him and was astonished.
The pleasant view before him was new. Flowers, grasses, clear ponds and even an outdoor table for tea parties. He was in a beautiful garden, a clear contrast to the snowy mountains they had just been.
How long time have passed? Was the continent now ruined? What happened to the important people to him?
"No... This is... No, please no, shit!" He quickly stood up and had stumbled. He was still in the rag doll's body whose only purpose was to die.
He tried to gather his strength as he walked around, soon he reached a point where he could see some iron bars surrounding him. Iron bars that were shaped like a bird's cage...
"Hyunsung... Why?" He muttered as he heard steps behind him.
In contrast to Kiyoung who wore a very dumbfounded and confused expression. Hyunsung held a peaceful smile and his face was very bright.
Kiyoung almost felt relieved but he immediately thought it was strange. He held his guard up as his shoulders tense.
"Hyunsung... Explain this to me." He spoke firmly as Hyunsung let out a soft sigh.
"It is as Kiyoung thinks it is... This place is not the place you are used to. The continent... No, those things don't really matter anymore." Hyunsung spoke nonchalantly making Kiyoung be more baffled.
"It does not matter?! What do you mean? Everyone is there! Hyejin, Deokgu, Hayan... Everyone from are guild is left there! Our family, our home, my people and you are telling me that those things don't matter?! What do you exactly mean?!" He lost control of his emotions as he leveled Hyunsung him, pulling the man by the collar.
Hyunsung stared calmly to his eyes, "They don't matter anymore... You don't have to think about those complicated things. All that matters now, is that we are finally together in peace."
"No more wars, no more burdens, no more regression and no more pain. I have protected you, Kiyoung." Hyunsung added with a sweet tone and a warm smile.
Kiyoung couldn't even think properly at that moment. In the first place, he couldn't believe that his kind Hyunsung would turn out like this.
He fell down to the ground, tears falling from his eyes. The weight of the lives of those he failed to protect. The person in front of him that have destroyed his plans and sacrificed the lives of those who are important to him, to them.
Just for a place he called their heaven.
"Hahahahahahahahaha... Hahaha... Ahhhh...." Kiyoung laughs emptily as tears continue to stream from his eyes.
'Oppa... Hyung-nim... Vice guild master... Lee Kiyoung... Honorary Cardinal... Son of Light...'
The names he was called, and those who once called him have ringed to his ears.
"AHHHHHHHHH!!!" Kiyoung wailed as he then grab Hyunsung's sword and quickly try to stab himself.
But the safety measure never let him, the sword's blade never reached his stomach.
"Its pointless, Kiyoung... I'm the only one who can hurt you, and the only one that can protect you... You can blame me and hate me forever if that will make you happy. But I don't regret this decision... Because I know I made the right choice."
"How could you... How could you do this to me? After everything that I did for you, after everything that we've been through... You do this?" Kiyoung brokenly mutters as Hyunsung try to comfort him, only to have his hands slapped off.
"You'll eventually understand everything... Because we only have each other now."
Kiyoung realized the weight of those words and what it implied. He had an expression that seemed like the sky had fallen.
Tears continue to run from his eyes as Hyunsung softly brush it away.
He bit his lips yet it did not bleed. His body shook yet he could not feel discomfort.
His heart felt like it had been crushed. He never expected to be betrayed like this. He never envisioned a future like this.
The future he wanted to create, the future he wanted to give Hyunsung was different.
"I'm sorry for turning you like this... It was never supposed to be like this..." Kiyoung silently muttered as his trembling eyes meets Hyunsung's cold yet warm ones.
Hyunsung breathed in relief as he hugged Kiyoung's shaking figure and he gently ran his magic through Kiyoung's body relaxing the said man.
"Its okay... Everything will soon fall into place... We have all the time in the world together."
Kiyoung's tears did not stop, the stabbing pain in his heart never stopped. The immense guilt and grief never stopped too.
But as time passed he held a belief that he was the one who should take responsibility in Hyunsung's current state.
He closed his eyes and he accepted the truth.
This was a future, a world... Meant only for them.
