Work Text:
The breeze is a little colder tonight.
Calli walks along the seashore, her footprints leaving marks on the sand.
She stops at an old tree, where a part of its branch had fallen and serves as a chair. She sat on it, letting the wind part her bangs. She closes her eyes as a group of clouds reveal a source of light. This movement made her open her eyes once again, taking in the view.
A long deep sigh finally escaped her lips. She leaned her head on the trunk, now staring at the stars. She purposely went here to clear her mind, but as the wind gets stronger and stronger, her heart grew weaker. And there, she let herself break. Taking in the pain, she lifts her knees up and hugs them. Her jacket stained wet with tears, her throat clogged with emotions.
"Why?!" She shouts.
"Calli..."
"Hmm?" She absentmindedly replied while playing with her phone.
Kiara stops at her tracks and looks at her.
This made the rapper pause, lifting her head up to look at the girl who was once beside her.
"I'm leaving soon."
"That's nice. You're going on a trip? How long? And where are you going this time?"
"I'm leaving for good."
With that, Mori hides her phone away and looks straight into Kiara's eyes. No signs of playfulness, which caused her to look away.
Kiara continued, "I'm going back to Austria."
"Why? I thought you liked it here..." Calli looks around, reminiscing about what they have done together for the past year.
"I do, but--"
"Then, why are you leaving?!" A quiet sigh was accompanied by the sudden change in tone.
"Look, Calli. I'm sorry. I have other plans rather than staying here." The orange head replied, trying to respond calmly.
"Other plans…?" Mori looks down as tears blinded her vision.
For the past year, they were making plans. Together. And they have told each other that they will achieve them this year.
"Calli, I--"
"No, don't worry. It's all good. Good luck on your trip." Her feet swiftly escaped the situation she was in. She basically ran, not hearing any of Kiara's calls.
Her sobbing stops. The arm of her jacket tries to absorb the never-ending tears. With that, she rests her head against the tree for the second time. Heart pounding, tears falling, eyes shut.
The breeze is a little colder tonight.
