“Beautiful…” I sigh softly, averting my gaze to look at the scenery before us.
“The Sakura trees are always a marvelous view during spring.” Miko lounges beside me, her dainty hands making quick work of the fried tofu that is meant to be shared between us.
“That’s not it, Miko.” I say as I pick my chopsticks and try to get some tofu before they vanish.
“Then what is it?” she asks, looking up to face me.
I looked to the side instead, “Hmm maybe it is the view after all.”
“Silly, Ei.” She says a smile present on her lips.
The Sakura are in bloom again
Each year without fail.
They greet the people of Inazuma with their splendor
Like lovers reuniting after a long separation.
It’s not lost on me, Miko
How after all these years,
Here we are watching them together once more
Like nothing ever happened.
500 years of solitude
Yet how I long for your company during those times.
I indeed miss you, Miko
Very much so that you can see it in the sky.
I’ve caught up on what had happened when I left
And you stood right in the middle of it
Ensuring the safety of the nation,
Whether because its your home or because of me…I cannot say for certain.
You’re beautiful, Yae Miko
And I’m a stubborn fool who can’t say it to you.
I see you
Yet I do not have it in me to go to you.
Maybe someday,
But I am content to see you try and hide those feelings too.
I have to thank Lumine for that slip,
For it made me hope.
I do not have the ability to foresee the future,
But I am certain I will not leave you.
We will watch the next Sakura bloom,
And I hope by that time…
