Work Text:

Hyunjin always feed himself, literally, and spiritually. It works the same for his curiousity.

"What's kissing the right one feels like?"

And when his lips and Seungmin's finally met, he just simply felt betrayed by all the dramas and manhwa that consumed him throughout these years.

They ended up giggling like some madmen that evening, "It just feels wet and icky," the long-haired man said in between his breath.

Seungmin just gave him the knowing smile, body perched on top of the sink, "Maybe we just don't work that way,"

Hyunjin doesn't want to admit how Seungmin's word easily occupied his mind the entire week.

There he was, laying chill and cozy with his other bestfriend on a cramped space, legs and thighs fully brushing each other as they sat on the opposite of the couch.

There it was, the urge to fulfill whatever the crazy premise he had on his mind.

And what, (or who) exactly would work?

They've been bestfriend. The three of them.

And Hyunjin thought he might finally feel something like what he saw on the romcom movie because Seungmin understood him the most.

Or so he thought.

"Hey?"

That deep voice woke him up from his reverie.

His eyes gazed at Felix who was still busy changing the channel in front of them.

"Thankyou for not asking," Felix's own hand was trembling, but if Hyunjin ever paid attention to that, he said nothing. That boy couldn't be more thankful for the arms he found around his drenched body.

"Hyun?"

Now Hyunjin could now feel the inquisitive stare, the slightest eyebrow raise, and he couldn't help his own lips from forming a smile.

"Why are you so nice to me?" his head fell perfectly on Felix's lap as the latter shrugged while flipping his novel, "You're just so easy to befriend with,"

"Hyunnie?"

Now Felix had his own legs folded, body stretched forward to brush the strand of hair from Hyunjin's sight, "Are you okay?"

He couldn't stand it anymore so he just blurted out everything he always wanted to utter, "Can I kiss you?"

He expected widened eyes, a surprise jolt, a push on the chest, but all he ever received was the same intricate look he sure was displayed on his orbs right now.

And Felix took the matter on his own because he always does, in his subtlest way.

When their lips collided, there was not a single firework, not a blooming flower, not a crash of wave. Nothing like all of those clichés.

Instead, there was their ragged breath in the middle of the moving fan, the roses adorning Felix's lips and cheeks, his scent of faint mint and vanilla, the caramel popcorn they shared just half an hour ago, and his erratic heartbeat loud and clear when Felix's head chased him for another chaste peck.

Hyunjin had never been this unconsciously self-conscious.

Simply put, to kiss Felix was a sensory vacation.

Hyunjin wrote on his diary that day,

Kissing your bestfriend should never be one of your bucket list, but you may found something that you've been looking from the start.
