Chapter Text
Last year of college life- a year filled with mixed feelings. A year to explore new relations, to repair your mistakes, and a year to live life to the fullest. At least, that's what other people think. But for Park Jihoon, he just wants to pass with flying colours and move on to the next chapter of his life. He has his friends with him, and that's it. He's not interested in meeting new people anymore even though he would always go out during weekend nights to unwind with his group.
Classes are starting this Monday. It's Friday today and the brunette's currently preparing to move to the dorm which is located inside their university. He has this one reason why he chose to do so rather than staying at their house which is only a walking distance from the place.
"Why do you suddenly want to leave? I told you, your dad wants to meet you and get along! It would be best if you'll just stay here with us." He almost scoffed at his mother's words. She's been talking about this new boyfriend of hers these past few days and how she's excited for Jihoon to finally meet him.
Yet, his son is completely uninterested. When she mentioned that the man would be living with them, Jihoon decided to leave and stay in the dorm for the rest of the school year. His mother changes boyfriends almost every month, but this is the first time she thought of bringing someone home with her.
Clearly, his one and only child isn't happy with that.
"I don't have a dad. And it would be less hassle with this." Jihoon didn't even look at her and just continued folding his clothes then placing it inside the luggage.
After that, he didn't hear anything else anymore. When his mother left, he shut the door to his own room and went about his business of packing. He heard his phone ring after a few minutes.
Junkyu's calling.
"Yo."
"Park Jihoon! You're really staying in the dorm? Are you okay with the curfew?"
"Like I have a choice. I told you mom will bring her new boyfriend home."
"Oh, yeah. You chose the single room then?"
"No. I registered late."
He's actually worrying about that. In his junior year, he also occupied one of the dorms in their university and that time he registered upon enrolling so he was able to choose the single room. Meaning, no roommate. However, he planned to stay at home this year because they had moved to a new house last year that was close to the university. But then something unexpected happened. As an ending, he now has to put up with sharing a room with someone else.
The call already ended after a short chit chat. Besides, Jihoon still needs to finish preparing. He'll also bring some boxes and he actually asked for his best friend’s help. The other agreed, only to ask for a free lunch in return.

Choi Hyunsuk. A guy with ravenette hair, petite body and playing with his lip piercing is currently seated on the couch of Yoshi's apartment. He’s been biting on his fingernails out of frustration.
"Why did you even accept this? Classes are starting next week." The tall Japanese guy said, both of them focused on the documents on the screen.
"It doesn't require that much physical work. But you know, I'm not that good with hacking and these data bullshits. That's why I'll go spy on the area while you back me up." It doesn't even sound like a request, and Choi’s confident that the other won't refuse.
"Fine." With that, he smirked and poured another glass for his best friend.
"Anyway, have you prepared your things? You're supposed to move in tomorrow."
Damn. The guy squirmed at the realization. He almost forgot!
"Shit. I haven't finished packing yet and my car's still at the repair shop." He finally stood up, but not before finishing his last shot.
"I'll see you later." He waved his hand as he walked away, not being able to catch Yoshi's tidings anymore.
While driving, Hyunsuk imagines what his roommate would be like. He is currently staying at their organization's pub, which is quite far from the school. As a result, he was also left with no choice but to occupy the dorm in their university. He registered late because he was busy with personal matters.
"What's up, cap?" He gave Taupe a tap on the shoulder, smirking.
"Done with work, Jet?" He replied, waiting for his comrade's reply. Of course, he needs to make sure that everyone who's under him does their work well.
"Nah. Will start this Sunday, with Dim. "
"I heard that your classes will start this Monday and you'll be staying there. How will you deal with the curfew?" Hyunsuk's senior quietly took out one of the cue sticks and positioned himself in front of the billiard table.
"You know I have my ways. That wouldn't be hard." He watched Taupe strike the ball. He wants to play too but he doesn't have the time. The smaller was about to leave the room when he turned around once again to face the other.
"By the way, can I use one of Licorice's computers? I'll just check on something." He received a simple 'sure' from his captain so he just proceeded.
Upon entering his comrade's room which is full of things related to computers, Hyunsuk sat at one of the chairs and typed a 6-digit password so he could gain access. The ravenette didn't waste his precious time anymore and typed a certain name. It didn't take long before the background profile of the person showed.
Park Jihoon.

When Jihoon awoke the next morning to the sound of his phone ringing, he let out a loud groan. He's certain it's not the alarm; it's still too early, and the sun isn't even up yet, as he can see through the window. But, in the end, he grabbed it because the noise wouldn't stop and was becoming irritating.
"Ji!"
"Junkyu, tone down your voice!"
"Hehe. Mashiho came early to my house and we're jogging together."
"You called me at this hour just for that?!"
"Well, I just want to inform you that I can't help you move in later."
"Huh, why?!"
"Sorry, I missed my baby that much."
"Come on, you see each other almost everyday!"
"Idiot. You'll understand when you already fell in love. Really, you can manage those boxes alone!"
"Psh. I'll punch you when we meet. Bye."
The brunette sighed too loudly, then threw his phone on the space beside him. He closed his eyes and returned to dreamland.
When he woke up, it was already lunch time. He saw no one upon walking out of his bedroom. It's nothing new to him because his mother is rarely present. Plus, Jihoon’s actually thankful since he won't hear her complaining again about his decision to leave. So, he got to eat his meal peacefully and left after.
"Thank you for dropping me off, Haruto." Hyunsuk smiled as he ruffled the younger's hair. The other simply nodded and returned his nod with a slight grin.
They soon arrived at their university's dorms, and after all of the boxes were dropped off, the older one said his goodbyes to his friend.
"Sorry I couldn't help you unload, but i'll check your car in the repair shop and update you." The sophomore with a deep voice, stated. Hyunsuk just gave him a thumbs up and watched his car leave.
"I'll leave the other boxes here for now and come back after." Hyunsuk said to the guard assigned in the area.
"You don't have someone to help you? Or your roommate? Too bad the elevator is out of order today. You sure have a lot of boxes."
Hyunsuk scratched the back of his neck because the man is actually right. To be honest, he can manage all of these. It's just that he's not in the mood today and Yoshi texted him earlier that there has been a problem with the task they're working on so he's also stressing about that.
"Room 807." The ravenette’s initial reaction was to turn around, upon hearing the voice.
Basically, it's because they share the same room number, which means only one thing.
"Let's see, Mr. Park right? Here's the key." The guy holding a slightly smaller box muttered a simple thank you and proceeded to the stairs. Hyunsuk couldn't see his face clearly because it was obscured by the carton, and he only caught sight of his back.
"That's your roommate. Maybe you can ask for help from him, he has less boxes unlike you." He just nodded when he heard that and started with the boxes that he can bring upstairs.
Hyunsuk was agitated because Yoshi decided to bombard him with texts right now, unaware that he was in the process of moving in. He came to a halt in the 3rd floor hallway and set down the box to respond to the messages. His phone rang unexpectedly, it was a call from his friend.
"Yosh?"
"Jet— I mean, Suk. Are you free? You have to see this."
"What? I'm moving in a lot of boxes."
"Oh, I forgot! Anyway you have to come here tonight."
"Damn it. Okay."
"Have you met your roommate?"
"I already sa—"
"Do you need help?"
Hyunsuk couldn't finish his sentence when he saw that someone was already standing in front of him.
He's a little taller than him, hair is brown, his eyes are narrow, and that mole just above his cheek? It's shaped like a heart. Seriously, the smaller of the two has no idea why he's suddenly staring at the face of this attractive man in front of him.
Wait, attractive? No!
Uh, yes.
"So.." A not so loud cough was heard and Hyunsuk snapped back into reality when he realized that he wasn't answering, just staring.
"I'm sorry about that, uh —"
"Jihoon. Park Jihoon. I'm your roommate, yeah?"
Oh, Hyunsuk couldn't respond yet again.
Jihoon feels like his roommate's trying to be distant. It's just their first meeting and it's already like this? He helped him with his boxes and yet he hasn't received even just "thanks" from the other guy.
They're both unloading now and Hyunsuk only talked when they were discussing what to do with the room.
The younger is already drenched in sweat, he sometimes steals glances or watches Hyunsuk fix his own place. He's good at this. Unlike the other who just places his things where he feels like but for some reason, he's conscious and doesn't want his roommate to think that he's a messy person.
When Jihoon couldn't bear the heat anymore, he reached for the back of his shirt and removed it in a flash. He didn't notice that a pair of eyes were watching, face flushed.
"What?" Jihoon talked. He wanted to smirk when the other suddenly looked away.
'He's cute.' The brunette thought.
If only Jihoon knew.
If only.
