Work Text:

One:

It was a day after Nico’s 3 days stay in the infirmary, and he and Will were out walking in the forest. They were being careful though since the Hermes cabin couldn’t remember where they’ve placed most of their landmines from the Battle with Gaea and are still looking for them.

Nico didn’t want to do this, but his ‘doctor’ insisted that he needed sunshine, and as much as he won’t admit it out loud, he was kinda happy to still get Will’s attention even after the 3 day ordeal.

Will was talking about his day which Nico has been tuning out for five minutes now until his name was mentioned. Nico immediately turned to Will, “I’m sorry, what?”

Will scoffed, “You weren’t listening. I knew it!” He accused.

The son of Hades rolled his eyes, “You were kinda boring, Solace.”

Will gasped in mock outrage, “Here I was opening up to you about my problems, and then I find out you didn’t care at all.”

Nico knew that Will was kidding, but somehow he felt guilty. The son of Apollo just has that effect on him. So, Nico pocketed his hands in shame then nodded towards Will, “I’m sorry.” He grumbled, looking down before asking, “What is it you were saying again?” People rarely go for him to vent out their problems, but somehow, he found himself wanting to help Will as much as he could even if he might fail badly at this. Ugh, what is happening to him? Is the question Nico finds himself asking when he's around this certain son of Apollo.

Nico realized that the forest became silent.

He counted. He found himself looking up in worry at Will. He was never quiet for this long. Once he looked up, Will stumbled back and nearly fell if he hadn’t caught himself in a tree branch, “Oh gods.” He said, and it worried Nico more because his voice was filled with fear.

Nico observed the son of Apollo and noticed that Will’s eyes weren’t blue anymore. They were glowing gold, and Will’s expression was dazed as if he was staring into something Nico can’t see,

“Will?!” Nico tried to call out in panic, but the boy in question didn’t respond. Nico looked down at his hands then at Will, steadying his heartbeat before doing what he had to do next. Nico grabbed the other boy’s shoulders then shook him as hard as he could.

Will gasped in shock at Nico’s sudden touch. The son of Hades doesn’t just touch people normally. So, as soon as Nico touched Will’s shoulders, Will’s eyes stopped glowing as bright as the sun and suddenly his bright blue pupils were visible again.

Will fell to the ground, and Nico was about to step towards him but Will shouted, “No! Don’t! Stop! Don’t make a move, Nico. Please.”

Will’s voice was such in a panic that it got Nico frozen in place, his eyes wide. Will took a deep breath before standing up and grabbing Nico’s hands. Nico was about to jerk away, but Will had a stern and serious look in his face, “Don’t. Make. A. Step.”

Nico nodded, feeling a blush creeping on his cheeks at the contact and how close the two boys were. Will sighed, then squeezed Nico’s hand for reassurance, “I don’t want to resort to this, but… Nico, shadow-travel us as far as you could but still within camp borders, please.”

That surprised Nico, but something in him told him that he shouldn’t question Will. So, instead, he held tighter onto Will, not wanting to lose him in the shadows, then managed to jump into the nearest shadow. When they re-emerge by the lake, still with a view of where they were earlier, the land where Nico’s left foot was, well… It exploded.

Will lets out a sigh of relief before falling towards the ground, probably drained from shadow-traveling and whatever that was that happened to him earlier. Nico was worried but he just found himself shocked, staring down at the son of Apollo, “Did you just predict the future?” He said, deadpan, though deep inside, he was really impressed.

Will chuckled, holding onto his stomach as he looked up, “I get visions here and there when people I care for are about to be in trouble. They’re not like prophecies because, well… It’s not a riddle and I could stop them from happening but…” He sighed, shrugging in embarrassment, “As you saw earlier, it’s really hard for me to snap out of it, and it could be quite draining too.”

Nico found himself gasping, only focusing on one thing that came out from Will’s statement, “And… it only happens when someone you care for is going to be in danger?

Will shrugged, “That, and if I’m near enough to actually help them.”

Nico shook his head in disbelief, “You care about me? Like… Sincerely ?”

Will was confused why Nico was interrogating him until he asked that question. Now, he can’t help but smirk at the smaller boy who was looking down at him, “How many times do I have to call you dense for you to understand?”

If Nico was drinking something, he probably would have choked on it. He found himself blushing more furiously as he realized that Will was on the floor, drained. For the second time that day, he found himself initiating physical contact as he reached out a hand to help Will up, trying to play it as cool, “C-C’mon Solace, let’s get you to the infirmary.”

Will smiled and happily accepted Nico’s hands, letting the son of Hades pull him up, “Anything for you, deathboy.”

Nico was so flustered that he couldn’t even find it in himself to glare and scold at Will for that nickname. As they walked back, Will fuzzed over whether Nico got some side-effects from that one jump while Nico stayed quiet because dam, the son of Apollo kept surprising him every single day.

Two:

Nico and Will were just three months into their relationship when they started running into trouble. No, it’s not with each other… There were just some campers that couldn’t accept such a relationship which didn’t really make sense since they were Greeks!

It was just a normal day, Nico and Will were sitting on the porch of the Hades cabin, bickering as always when a son of Hermes raised from Texas named Henry passed them with a look of disgust. Nico hoped he wouldn’t stop in front of them but he did, and as soon as he did, Nico started to panic.

Henry smirked at the scene, “What a bunch of faggots.”

Will growled at the son of Hermes, “What is wrong with you? There is nothing wrong with us, if anything, you’re the one you should be disgusted about!”

Will has faced such people a lot of times before that he learned to not panic when these types of situations came, but he could see the panic in Nico’s eyes and knew that he had to get rid of Henry before things got worse.

Henry glared at the son of Apollo, saying, “You’re a disgrace. I thought you were from Texas. We were raised to know better than to have such affairs and you know it.”

Will huffed, sending a small wave towards Nico, hoping it would suffice for now before standing up and crossing his arms in front of Henry, “So, what if I was born in Texas? Yes, we were taught beliefs, but it really is our choice which beliefs to believe and to dispose of. With that attitude, you’re just coming off as close-minded, and as Greeks… Back then all Philosophers were open to anything.”

Will said it so calmly and emotionless that it came out a little too scary. Henry looked fazed as he took a step back, “I-I’m not listening to you, you fag!” He then covered his ears with his hands before running away.

Will immediately shifted from anger to worry as he grabbed his boyfriend’s hands then dragged him into the cabin, closing the door behind them. Nico’s eyes were wide and he was hyperventilating. Will helped Nico to sit at his bed, then Will sat beside him.

“Nico?” Will tried. Nico’s eyes focused towards Will’s gentle look as the son of Hades gasp, “I-Is this w-wrong?”

Will took a deep breath before gently grabbing Nico’s hand, and sending more waves of calmness towards Nico, “No, of course not. How could something that makes you feel so happy and loved be wrong?”

Nico nodded, slowly understanding but he was still breathing at a fast pace. Will’s power could only help this far. So, Will smiled gently towards his boyfriend while still sending waves of calmness towards his boyfriend, “Breathe with me?”

Nico's eyes settled at Will’s finding acceptance in them before nodding. So, Will guided Nico until finally, Nico felt better. Once Nico seemed to regain his senses, he leaned his head to Will’s shoulders, feeling too calm yet also tired, “How did you do that?”

Will chuckled, “Henry? Oh please! I’ve dealt with people worse than him before.”

Nico shook his head then raised his head to look directly at Will, “No- I mean, what you did with Henry was impressive, but…” He sighed before finishing, “This was the fastest I’ve recovered from a panic attack. I felt something radiating from you, Will… And I don’t know. It wasn’t natural.”

Will nodded, finally understanding, “As a healer, I’m gifted to send this wave or aura of calmness towards my patients, in case they refuse to cooperate, but it has other uses too as you saw today.”

Nico was once again impressed as an idea started forming in his mind, and he just couldn’t help but feel excited at the thought, “Imagine if you use that towards a monster! Would you be able to calm them down?”

Will shrugged, blushing at Nico’s sudden interest, “I guess so, but I’d need to have direct contact with them.”

Nico shrugged back, “All powers have their catches, but Will…” Nico looked up at Will with all sincerity, causing the son of Apollo to smile as Nico said, “This really is amazing, how come you never told me before?”

Will chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck, “Oh- I just thought it was nothing compared to your powers.”

At that, Nico playfully slapped Will’s arm, “ You are an idiot.” Then Will laughed, as Nico managed a smile.

Three:

Henry didn’t stop going after them, even after Chiron found out and punished him. Somehow, Henry just hated the two of them, but the two got used to him. But then… Something happened.

At a capture the flag game that Will sat out to be a medic. Nico and Henry were in opposite teams, and they somehow went face to face with each other. Will just finished tending Connor when he had another vision.

He saw Nico on the floor with a bruise on his cheek as if somebody head-butted him with a sword right there, then he saw his arms… it was cut with the word ‘Faggot’ and it was still bleeding.

Will growled in anger as Connor managed to snap him out of it, “Will? What is it?”

Will glared at him, “Henry hurted Nico, cut his arm with the word faggot.”

Connor’s eyes widened, before nodding in understanding, “I’ll deal with my brother. He has gone too far.” Will shot him a grateful look before excusing himself to look for Nico.

Eventually he found Nico near Zeus’ fist, groaning as Will called for him, “Nico? Darling are you alright?”

Nico was struggling to move as he tried to warn his boyfriend but utterly failed, “Will-” Henry came out of the trees, sword in hand, “Well, well, well. I knew you’d come and get your boyfriend, but alas, I won’t let you until I mark you too.”

Now, Will has dealt with people such as Henry before, but this boy has gone too far. Will tried to control his anger as much as he could for this exact reason, but it was too late now. Henry has struck a nerve by hurting Nico in such a way.

The surrounding around them became cold as green mist covered the surrounding of the two boys. Somehow, the mist avoided Nico which was probably Will’s subconscious doing because he knew he wasn’t in control anymore as his vision turned green and as he raised his hands towards Henry, not finding it in himself to feel mercy, “You brought this to yourself.” Will said, dangerously calm.

Henry stumbled back but a flash of green light caught him, and then suddenly he was on the ground, in coughing fits. Will was only snapped back to reality when Nico reached for his leg. His cold touch made Will gasp as he saw what he did.

Will’s eyes widened, as he was washed with guilt. Will leaned down towards Nico, healing the boy from his injuries, before running away, sobbing, afraid of what he has done.

Later that night, Nico found Will hiding in the infirmary’s backroom where doctors could rest. Will was under a blanket, still sobbing.

Nico huffed, feeling energized since it looked like Will wasn’t in enough control earlier to know how much of his healing powers he’d used on Nico. When Nico closed the door. Will called out, “Go out, Nico! I’m a monster. I don’t deserve comfort.”

Nico was confused why Will felt that way. Nico was only impressed each time he discovered more of Will’s hidden powers. Like seriously? The power to cause plague? That could be used to great advantage when in the right hands.

So with a sigh, Nico approached the bed, trying to joke, “Hey, if you didn’t want me to come and find you… Why leave the door unlocked?”

There was silence… Nico mentally counted to three, then suddenly, Will sat up, popping his head out of his blanket burrito, “I’m a monster.” Was all he said, and he sounded so broken that it pained Nico.

With another sigh, Nico sat beside Will then ruffled his hair. He really wasn’t good with all this comforting stuff, but he had to try, “Will, you’re not a monster. You lost control because of your emotions and it happens. If you’re a monster, then I’m worse of a monster. You only got someone sick, I sent a soul straight to the Underworld. Do you see what I’m getting at?”

Will looked at him, obviously not knowing what to do or say next which really is new for the son of Apollo.

So, Nico decided to try again, “You said you aren’t a fighter, but if you could control these powers you have, you might as well be one… You could be an even better combat medic.”

Will shook his head in despair, “What type of medic would I be if the same hands that can heal could also cause disease?”

Nico smiled reassuringly, cupping Will’s cheeks and giving the son of Apollo an affectionate look, “A medic that could defend with plague and heal with medicine. You can’t keep running from your powers, the more you ignore it, the stronger it gets, and if you don’t learn to control it, it would only backfire. You could hurt more if you aren’t in control, remember?”

Will sighed, finally giving in, “Why do you have to be right?”

Nico chuckled then kissed Will on his forehead, “Because I want you to see that this isn’t something to fear, that you should accept it, that it’s impressive. The same way you made me feel all those towards myself.” At that, Nico wrapped his arm around Will’s blanket burrito, and Will leaned in closer, finally finding peace and comfort in his boyfriend’s words and presence.

Nico hummed a moment later, “Plus, Henry sooo deserved that. All your siblings agree.”

Will snorted, “Of course they do. I’ve always been the peaceful one.”

Nico shrugged, “Debatable.” Then the two boys found themselves bickering comfortably again.

Four:

Nico was currently stuck in an alley who knew where, with claw marks on his chest, probably spreading infection through his body. He was going home from a mission sent by Hades when a monster managed to surprise attack him. He killed the monster but that damage was done.

He couldn’t shadow-travel because he was too weak from the loss of blood, and even before that, he was already drained. Not to mention that his boyfriend would kill him when he gets there, well, that is if the shadows don't kill him first.

Nico hoped that Will would get one of his visions, but he knew that he was too far away for an instant rescue, so maybe it won’t work. So he guesses, he’ll just die there, in that alley with no one by his side. Just the way he always thought he’d die.

Fortunately, he spoke too soon because then, two blondes were looking down on him. The one with the glasses turned his back on them, preparing his sword, probably standing guard, while the other with freckles kneeled down in front of him, and despite Nico’s blurry vision, he’d recognize that worried look anywhere, “Will?” Nico couldn’t comprehend how Will had found him, but he couldn’t think straight enough to care.

Will shushed him, “i-It’s alright Nico. We’re here. I’m here.” but somehow, by his voice Nico knew that he was hurt and in pain. It wasn’t just emotional pain, it’s as if he was hurt physically too. This immediately worried Nico, “A-are you alright?” Nico managed his tone sounding way too familiar to the way Will spoke.

Warmth spread through Nico’s chest as Will treated his wound before applying stitches. Once Will looked up he sighed at his boyfriend’s relief, “Yeah, now that you are.” He then carefully bridal carried Nico, and  the son of Hades just didn’t have the strength to protest as Will gently said, “Let’s get you back to camp.” Though somehow, Nico felt just how tired Will was, as if he was as tired or even more tired than the son of Hades. There was seriously something that wasn’t fitting in here, but Nico’s head was throbbing and he couldn’t worry about it now.

But then, Will stumbled in his steps, getting Jason’s attention. Jason’s sword shrunk into a coin then he went to grab Nico from Will, “I think I’ll take him from here.” Will nodded, not even refusing which was weird because normally, when Nico was under his care he doesn’t let anyone take over.

But again, Nico was just so tired that he didn’t give it a second thought. At that, he finally fell unconscious.

When Nico woke up, he was in the infirmary and he expected Will to be beside him, but to his surprise, it was Jason, “Where’s Will?” Was the first thing Nico said as the events of the last night came crashing back at him.

Jason sighed, slowly pushing Nico back to his bed, “He’s alright, just… drained.”

Nico’s eyes widened in surprise and guilt, “But why? He had treated worse injuries, right?”

Jason looked down, biting his lip as if hiding something, “Man, I’m not sure if it’s my place to tell.” Then suddenly there was a gasp from the cot beside them.

A few moments later, Will stumbled into the curtains looking as pale as Nico. The son of Hades crossed his arms, his eyebrow furrowing in worry, “William Andrew Solace, why do you look so tired?”

Jason took that as a sign to leave, “I’ll just- uh, yeah.” He gestured out then stood to go. Will sighed sitting down beside Nico in his bed. The son of Hades allowed him because he was worried at how tired Will looked, “I can feel your worry, you know, like literally.

Nico’s mouth gaped open, not knowing how to react to that, “How?” Was all he managed.

Will sighed, leaning his head onto Nico’s shoulder, “I have this power which I rarely use because… it hurts. It’s more of a sacrifice to help the worst patients.”

Nico nodded, urging Will to continue. Will looked guilty as he spoke, “And I don’t usually use this without consent of the patient, but… I got so worried that I didn’t think twice about using it on you. It’s the only way we could’ve found you since I wasn’t getting a vision and I, and it’s-” He took a deep breath realizing that his rambling, “Well… It’s like a temporary empathy link, but it’s effects are stronger. It helps me understand my patient’s pain more because I get access to the senses, but it also backfires because it’s an empathy link, not sympathy… So, basically I could literally feel all your pain, both physically and emotionally. I- I only used it, so I could access your sight and find out where you are, but your pain made it hard for me to be in control at first.. I’m sorry I didn’t warn you.”

Nico blinked twice before smacking Will’s arm, “Why are you sorry? You saved my life, you idiot! You have no right to say sorry.”

Will smiled at that, “You’ve got really strong feelings about this, I can feel it.”

Nico nodded, a smile tugging up at his lips, “Why wouldn’t I have? You keep hiding your impressive powers from me!” Then he looked at Will worriedly, remembering that Will can also feel his emotional pain, which was never really in good shape, “My pain- Are you alright?”

Will nodded, “It’s not overwhelming anymore, I usually learn to push through the unimportant pains to understand what I have to focus on soo…” He then let out a tired breath before grabbing my hand, “But gods, Nico. I don’t wanna intrude but if you ever need someone to talk to, I’m here for you, okay?”

Nico nodded slowly, glad that Will wasn’t pushing him to talk but letting him know that he’s here for him, “And… It’s temporary until when?”

Will chuckled, “Only 24 hours. Until then, we’re practically one.” He teased. Nico somehow felt Will's giddiness. So, he shoved the son of Apollo lightly, “Stop that! You're infecting me with your dorkiness.”

Will winked at that, “You don’t have a choice in the matter, deathboy.” At that, Nico huffed, crossing his arms. But deep inside he kinda likes being one with Will and he had a feeling that Will knew it too. Maybe his positivity isn’t as intoxicating as Nico thought it would be, it was probably good for him too.

Five:

Nico and Will were in a quest to recover a half-blood who’s satyr companion has died trying to bring her to camp. It was them two because it was an ASAP quest and Nico was the only one who can get from one place to another within a second through shadow-travel. Will only came to make sure Nico won’t overuse his powers and would serve as back-up in case Nico was too tired after the jump.

Nico was alright after the jump, but what they didn’t expect was to jump beside the half blood himself, who was currently surrounded and cornered by 5 empousai. Luckily, both Nico and Will were immune to the empousai’s charmspeak (Perks of being gay). So, they stood their ground, preparing their weapons.

But of course, Will just had to drop his dagger on their first round of attacks, and of course, the empousai being the smart monsters they were, knew better than to focus on Will. 4 of them attacked his boyfriend while only one focused on Will who was shielding the 10 year old half-blood behind him.

Wills saw Nico struggling and got scratched. That’s when Will knew he had to retort to this. No, not with his plague powers. He was not ready to retort to that unless it truly is the final option. Right now though, Will still has one trick up his sleeves. The afternoon sun was shining bright above them, so he knew he'd be able to focus enough to make this work even if it was a long time since he’s tried this.

Will felt the sun’s glow in his skin then focused it all into his hand just as the empousa tasked against him started to advance. Before it could get to Will though, a whip made of the sun’s light appeared in Will’s hand. Will immediately lashed this at the empousa who turned to dust as soon as he was touched by the whip.

Will can already feel himself getting drained, but he still had to save Nico and using a whip with Nico too close to the other empousai would be dangerous. So, he focused against, this time his whip turned into a sword still made of the sun’s heat and light. Will used this to surprise the empousa who had her back on him.

This surprised the other empousai, giving Nico time to kill them with a single strike of his Stygian sword. But then, Nico was looking at my golden sword in awe, “We’ve been dating for 6 months! How could I not know about this?!” He said, annoyed, impressed, and amused all at once.

Will smirked but then he stumbled as the sword disappeared from his hand. Nico was immediately in front of him, “Will! Are you alright?” He asked worriedly.

Will nodded, taking a few sips of nectar and bites of ambrosia before accepting a hand up from Nico, “ That is why you don’t know. It’s too draining. I don’t really use it unless I’m desperate.”

Nico sighed, putting an arm around Will’s waist to support his selfless boyfriend, “Let’s get you back to camp so you could rest, hmm?”

Will nodded in agreement, giving a soft look towards the half-blood they were meant to rescue, “Hey, don’t be afraid. We can bring you safety, okay?”

The young boy was still shaking, but it seems like he trusted his rescuers. So, as he walked towards them. Nico grabbed the boy’s hand gently before shadow-traveling them back, not noticing how Will’s form flickered into the sun’s rays just before the jump.

Plus One

It’s been a day after they got back from their rescue mission and Nico has just woken up from a well-deserved rest. Problem was, he hasn’t heard anything from Will ever since he left him in his cabin the other night. So, Nico decided to pay him a visit. Nico was getting a little worried about his boyfriend.

When he got to the Apollo Cabin though, the cabin was bustling as if the Apollo Cabin had become the new infirmary. This confused Nico very much. Kayla saw him come in and immediately approached him, a worried look plastered on her face, “Before you ask, yes, the infirmary did move here temporarily , but Will’s not here. He’s currently in the infirmary, locking himself up, avoiding sunlight.”

Nico was getting more and more confused and worried at every word, “Why is he hiding from the sun? And why can’t he lock up here instead?”

Kayla just sighed, all sense of calmness leaving her features, replaced by fear, “I- I guess you should see yourself. All I could say is, the Apollo Cabin is too bright for his condition.” That was all Nico had to hear before running towards the infirmary.

Nico barged into the building with all worry, immediately closing the door behind him. If light really was bad for Will now, he doesn’t need the door open. He noticed that all lights were indeed closed while the windows were shut with dark curtains covering them all.

There was only one source of light in the room and Nico approached, as he did, only then did he realize what- who it was, “Will?” His boyfriend looked up but Will looked- intangible. As if he was nothing but light and heat just like his sword was yesterday. This worried Nico, especially when Will flickered.

Will as a whole was light, even his face. The only thing that retained color was his blue eyes that shined blue instead of gold, unlike the rest of his body. Nico had to squint his eyes to see Will’s face properly, but the other boy looked scared though he tried to let it out as sheepish, “Hey Nico.”

Nico didn’t know what to do. If Will was intangible, it means he can’t hug him. Well, he guessed the least he deserved was an explanation so, before he could worry more he asked, “What the- Solace, what’s happening?”

Will sighed, looking down, “I’m fading to the light. It happens when I overuse my light powers, that’s why I barely use it. Any amount of light eats up in my presence, so I tried to hide, but as long as you could see, there will always be light…”

Nico was afraid because he was right. Even with the curtains closed, some portion of light was still passing through, and if this light was eating Will up little by little, who knew how much time Will had left? “I- I can’t believe you’d hide something like this from me.” Was all Nico could manage, and even that was barely a whisper.

Will finally looked up, seeing the absolute terror in Nico’s eyes at the possibility of losing the person he currently loves most, “I’m sorry, I just- I didn’t want to worry you?”

Nico growled, though they both knew it was more of a coping mechanism than genuineness, “So, you could’ve faded into the light and just disappeared, and you’d it’d better if I never found out.”

A tear also made of light slipped past Will’s eyes, though the son of Apollo still tried to be positive, “ Or I could’ve survived, right?”

“Bullshit, Will. You know it is.” Nico said shakily and on the verge of tears, looking down.

Will sighed, stepping towards him, trying to grab Nico but failing because he can’t really touch anything right now, he’d just go through. Will sighed again, staying close to Nico as he said, “I’m so sorry Nico, if only there was a way to remove all the light that’s surrounding me right now.”

Something echoed through Nico’s mind: Remove all the light surrounding me. Nico looked up, a little bit of hope in his eyes as he took a step back, maybe he could save Will, “Don’t move.”

Will looked at him curiously, but obliged as Nico tried to summon all of the shadows around the room, “Do you trust me?”

Will nodded without hesitation, “Of course I do.”

Nico gave him a sad smile as he started to wrap the shadows around Will, “Let’s hope this works.” Then suddenly, Will was engulfed by a sphere of darkness. Now, Nico had to focus as much as he could to keep the sphere together but also prevent it from touching Will.

He knew the shadows, they weren’t like the ghosts, or skeletons, or even zombies that respected him and his command, no. The shadows have their own mind and usually tries its best to consume those trying to use them for their own gain.

Nico counted 5 minutes before he couldn’t take it anymore and collapsed into the floor. He made sure to disburse the shadows back to where they came from though so it wouldn’t hurt Will. Once Nico hit the floor, Will was already on his knees beside the boy.

Nico took a shaky breath, afraid to look up in case his plan didn’t work, “Did it- Are you solid again?”

Then suddenly he felt a warm finger on his chin, raising Nico’s head up so he was staring back at Will’s solid, non-glowing form, “Yes, yes, it did. You saved my life, Nico.”

Nico let out a sigh of relief as the tears from his fear earlier began to break through. He engulfed Will in a hug despite feeling drained then cried into his boyfriend’s shoulder, “Don’t scare me like that ever again.” He said, his voice small, “I don’t think I can bear losing you.”

At that, Will pulled Nico into his lap then hugged the smaller boy back, “I won’t, I promise. I plan on living a long life with you, Nico di Angelo.”

Nico sniffed, smacking the arm of his boyfriend playfully, “Stop being a dork as I cry my heart out here.”

Will chuckled then kissed Nico as a promise. It was perfect despite it being all shaky, not to mention both boys were laughing and crying through the kiss, just happy to be in each other’s arms but still shaken from the day’s events.

Once they pulled away, Nico went back to crying in relief through Will’s shoulders, “Now I know how you feel when I’m overusing my powers.”

Will chuckled before going back to hugging Nico so tightly, still not believing that only a few minutes ago he was unable to do so due to intangibility and was also dying, “I love you.” The son of Apollo said, not thinking twice.

Nico smiled from where his head laid on Will’s shoulders, “I love you too.”

Ever since, the two boys, though impressed with each other’s powers, made it their life mission to make sure the other doesn’t overwork or overuse their godly gifts. They loved each other too much to let the other sacrifice themselves in a stupid quest or mission.
