Chapter Text
Y/n) paced by her door, waiting for a knock or a letter back. You see three weeks ago she had called two well-known vampire hunters. Jack Morrison and Cole Cassidy... There were others but (y/n) wanted to speak to them first. They were the best after all. They served in the war. They knew how to survive these monsters. They knew more than her.
"Oh.. a letter should have come back by now." For weeks (y/n) have been living in fear, she had a good reason to. (Y/n) had to make sure to keep garlic in the house, or make sure all the windows and doors were locked at night. She was just too scared after the encounter.
Sighing she put her hands on her head. "Maybe they thought it was fake?" Ideas came flowing through her head, she was in a panic, but suddenly (y/n) jumped hearing a loud knock on the door. Gulping (y/n) peeked out of a small door hole. She instantly relaxed seeing who it was and opened the door.
There stood two men. One was a cowboy. He had slightly messy facial hair, but it gave him his good looks. That and it added to the cowboy look, as well as the hat. The second man had White hair and scars all along his face. The two men were well built since their job did call for it.
"Is this the house of (y/n) (l/n)?"
"Yes! Please come in." (Y/n) opened the door more letting them in, and quickly shut it once they were. She didn't want any monster to sneak in. Even if it was impossible at the moment.
(Y/n) was about to speak but the see the old Soldier spoke up pointing. "This better not be a prank, little miss." He growled. "Only one person survived reaper's attacks, and that would be me." If (y/n) would have to guess, it would be during the war, back where there was a mass murder.
Gulping (y/n) tensed. "I... I can explain the whole story." The girl panicked as Cole spoke up. "Jack you're scaring the poor thing as she is." It was true. (Y/n) looked visibly shaken and spoked. Shivering in her shoes.
Jack grumbled as (y/n) took deep breaths. "Here I'll make us something to drink as I tell you."
The two men with guns and weapons followed you to the kitchen. They had noticed the garlic the homeowner had, and clearly, it was more than normal. Hell, it was strung over a window.
(Y/n) turned on the kettle as the men sat at the table. (Y/n) stood there processing on how and what to say. Where should she start? Would they think she was crazy?
Cole then whispered something to Jack. "Isn't it odd she's wearing a long-sleeved turtle neck in the summer?"
Jack nodes taking every clue in. "I don't think this is a prank anymore... this poor thing is tariffed." He had whispered back. That much was obvious. Her poster and body language just spoke like a nervous rabbit. Always glancing at windows in case something was there.
(Y/n) finished making the drinks and put the cups on the table and then sat down. She sat there thinking. "Where do I even start?"
Jack and Jessie gave one another a glance. They knew where to start.
"Before you tell us anything.. tell us why you're wearing that long and heavy shirt in summer?"
"Will you believe me if it's to keep the vampires from bitting me?"
"Darling, bad fashion can't scare them away." Cole smirked. He was tried to lighten her mood.
Letting out a sigh (y/n) started to pull off her shirt, and of course, she had an undershirt on but what the boys saw made them tense.
All over (y/n) arms were long scratch marks. Almost like claws, and on their neck was a big black bruise. A bite Mark bruise. It was the worst bruise they have seen in a while. It looked like the teeth went deep. Maybe they lingered a bit.
Jack tensed his hand on his gun and narrowed his eyes. "He didn't kill You?"
"No. He didn't suck my blood." (Y/n) looked down as the two men quickly caught on to what it meant.
"Oh good lord." Cole spoke taking off his hat, only to be harshly elbowed by Jack. They knew what that bite me. If it didn't kill you and had a large bruise like that, then that vampire had just claimed you as his mate, and they did not have the heart to tell (y/n). They were already scared as it is.
Jack leaned forward. "Tell us how and when this happened."
(Y/n) gave a shaky node and started.
"Well, it all started when I left my job, see I'm a bartender."
The memory quickly formed. There (y/n) was, cleaning the counters. Your boss was a drunk and most of the time made (y/n) close down, and this night was no different.
With a small hum the girl turned off the lights and headed outside. "Huh? It's Already dark? Guess I'll cut through the woods." (Y/n) started to move quickly after locking the door.
Moving down the path to the woods, that was the fastest route to home, and (y/n) did not want to be out at night. Not with vampires still around. As they walked it became difficult for them to see. The clouds were covering the moon on the dark eerie night. The wind had a low howl in its cold breeze
Picking up their pace, (y/n) tried to stay on the path. Only a root got her foot making her fall and fumble. Now they had no idea if they were still even on the path.
Wincing in pain, (y/n) got up. They looked around but they couldn't even see five feet in front of them. That's when she heard that laugh. That dark, echoing, killer laugh.
"Well well well, who do we have here?" The voice was dark and rough, echoing in (y/n)'s ears.
Suddenly a clawed hand yanked them and pinned them to a tree causing (y/n) to scream in fear. His claws dug into her fragile arms.
"Oh scared are we?" He purred and smirked more. "Your heart is beating fast. I like it." He taunted the poor girl.
"Let me go!" (Y/n) shouted in fear and tried to kick, but it only felt like she was kicking mist, not even touching the killer vampire.
"My, my. You sure are a fighter." He laughed as his gloved, yet clawed hands sunk into (y/n)'s arms even more. Blood pouring out, running down her arm.
Screaming (y/n) tried to call for help, but no one came. Her lungs burning, but she kept trying. Someone had to have heard her, but no one here could fight a vampier. Not this one.
"You sure have a loud voice." He was getting slightly annoyed. Her screaming was covering up the sound of their heartbeat. Oh, how he wanted that heart. He liked how (y/n)'s beats. Normally he enjoyed hearing a heart slowly die. Yet why was this girl any different.
His free hand then removed his mask, dropping it to the floor, that's when the girl realized how bad of a situation this was. (Y/n) had finally seen the skull, yet owl-like mask and knew who this was. This was reaper. A lone vampire that goes into towns and leaves no survivors. Human or vampires, they would be dead where they stand. That's why he was called a king. Too powerful to stop.
Whimpering (y/n) knew they were going to die. Another dark chuckle came from the dark and devilish vampire. He wouldn't say it, but he thought his dark soul had connected to theirs. His smirk grew larger, showing off his fangs.
His head moved for (y/n)'s neck, planning to suck their blood try and kill them. Yet only inches away, yet he had not sunk his teeth in. As much as he wanted to taste their blood, he couldn't stop listening to (y/n)'s heartbeat. It was like music. It was like something he knew long ago
A devilish smirk crossed his lips as he licked his fangs. He understood why now. He bit down hard on their neck making (y/n) scream bloody murder. He could feel their blood but didn't suck any. He wanted them alive, at least for now.
(Y/n) kicked and screamed trying to get out of his death grip. His teeth sank in more. He enjoyed the screams. His teeth stayed for a bit before Pulling back as he looked at their face. (Y/n) was full of fear and pain, yet was still alive. Whimpering (y/n) couldn't fight anymore.
Coming back to reality (y/n) gripped her cup. Their handshaking. "I remember passing out after that, but then I noticed he broke in my house a few nights... and I started to keep garlic everywhere. He won't leave me alone i- I--!!" Tears were forming as (y/n) tried to get a hold of their emotions
"He's going to kill me... I don't even know if I'm infected or not!"
They quickly looked up when Jack put his hand on their shoulder, suddenly speaking. "You are not infected... You can only become a vampire by drinking a vampire's blood, or having their blood mix with yours." He spoke slowly calming (y/n) down.
Cole had a frown. He had listened to the story. It was rare for vampires to bite the mate they choose yes but... this was also a higher-up vampire. There are different rules for royal bloodsuckers and killers.
"Now darling don't worry." Though he lied. They all had a reason to worry. A big reason.
"We'll stay around for a bit and see if we can't stop him" he then stopped talking seeing Jack tense, deep in thought.
"We.. need to stay more than a bit. This is Reyes we are talking about." He was dead serious.
Reyes.... (y/n) felt like she knew that name......but her thought prosses about that was quickly distracted.
