Work Text:
It’s boring, exhausting and very much time-wasting. At least, that’s what Jackson thinks as he walks towards the petit-four table.
He knows the majority of the guests, but doesn’t make an effort to particularly seek someone out, he isn’t close enough to any of them to try and make the first step.
Something he might get scolded for later by his PR team, but he doesn’t care.
He’s exhausted, it’s late and everyone just wants to be on his good side to try to get something out of him, he already knows.
It’s not like he had wanted to come anyways, he was contractually bound to attend private events, and this was one of them. So if his team gets pissed off, he just has to tell them he did his part of the job.
People might have thought Jackson thrived in these parties because he knew a lot of people, but in reality, this was the worst way to catch up with acquaintances.
Press all around, too many eyes to scan his every moment, there’s no real pleasure in coming to private events.
He never had been interested in attending galas, never had been one to socialize in public, rather preferring meeting friends in private, with much more freedom on what he could say or do, instead of being scrutinized for his smallest move.
And, no one is brave or interesting enough to keep him out of boredness, and it’s a bit tiring.
They’re all trying to win his favours, complimenting him as if they didn’t talk shit about him behind his back. It was like a competition, of who would have the honor of staying with Jackson for the rest of the night.
And, really, Jackson just wants to stay alone at this point. He’s had enough of giving his publicist phone number instead of his own, had enough of people asking for autographs and selfies. The singer just wants to stay aside for a moment, or the night, to simply avoid everyone else.
He’s just about to pick up another pig in a blanket, the British version of course, when he hears a voice coming close.
“They’re almost falling for you.” The person says, ”I’ve seen how they trip over each other to drown you in compliments, all for a second of your attention. It’s not pretty.”
Jackson looks up at the owner of the voice, quickly putting the food in his mouth so he could properly get some time to observe his new conversing partner.
Someone who didn’t seem to want anything from him, for the first time since he came into the room.
If it was someone else, Jackson would have probably answered with one of his own questions, something along the lines of “And you’re different how? Considering you’re talking to me too?”.
But this is not some random person.
The man looks good. Wearing a deep blue velvet suit, with a black shirt, he seems to be confident with himself, Jackson realises.
The person in front of him seems to know how to handle themselves properly in private and public settings, and the taunting smile on their face was a clear giveaway of the amusement they were feeling.
“You have an advantage on me it seems,” Jackson tells the other, wiping his fingers on a paper napkin, “You know who I am, but I don’t know you…”
“Oh!” The man laughs, eyes disappearing as he does so, “Park Jinyoung, at your service!” He adds, curtsying a little.
“So, Park Jinyoung, you’re telling me you’re different from all of them?”
“I don’t think there’s anything you can do that would favour me, to be honest,”
Jackson frowns, not quite understanding, and the other continues, laughing lightly.
“Really, because even though you have the talent for it, you still haven’t taken an acting gig, right?”
An actor, and a confident one. Jackson marks it for later to go check for his filmography as soon as he gets the time to.
Park Jinyoung seemed to be confident enough of his skills, and that shocks him a little, not because he doesn’t trust him, but because no one had ever told him that.
“That’s right, for good reasons though. I’m already busy with the singing and performing part,” Jackson answers laughing a bit
“And attending galas, it seems,”
“It seems yeah.”
Jackson doesn’t know how to continue the conversation, and he doesn’t get the opportunity to, as his company CEO calls him over from the other side of the room.
He quickly nods over to Jinyoung, moving over to where his boss was talking to one of his former business partner, now turned rival.
There’s not a lot he can say, because he doesn’t know much about the business part of his life so he just nods when he’s talked to, humming if necessary. He’s mostly distracting himself by observing Jinyoung.
(Because he’s bored, of course!)
He doesn’t know why he’s suddenly fascinated by someone, doesn’t know how it happened either, but he can’t help but look at the man standing across the room.
“Jackson?”
He’s ridiculously handsome, Jackson finds out, the proximity didn’t show his curves or how small that waist was. But now he knows, and his hands itch to find a place right in the curve where they would fit perfectly.
“Jackson!”
And those lips, was the man wearing lipstick on top of everything?
Was he trying to seduce someone? Was he trying to seduce him ?
Jinyoung is definitely staring back at him too now, he’s looking up from his champagne glass, eyes piercing into Jackson’s, smirking, almost laughing for some reason and it’s bothering the singer a lot.
What is going on in the actor’s mind?
“Wang Jiaer!”
That’s his name, that’s definitely his name he realises as he quickly (painfully) takes his eyes away from Jinyoung to face his boss.
“I’ve been calling you for 3 minutes now, what has gotten you so distracted? You never are like that usually! Someone stood out in the crowd?”
Jackson is quick to turn around in the opposite direction, trying his best to avoid any rumours or talks that could be linked with Park Jinyoung.
“Nothing, nothing. Just got a lot of inspiration all of a sudden.”
“Should we expect something soon then?”
“Well, let’s wait for now, shall we?”
Jackson laughs light-heartedly, very sarcastically however, just so the group would let him alone for some time. It’s not like he really had a rush of inspiration anyways, he was just admiring someone.
He concentrates on his glass this time, at least until his boss doesn’t care about him for the rest of the evening.
He’s bored, at least with Jinyoung he could talk but now, there’s nothing he can do.
Well, there might be something.
He knows there are reporters in the crowd, also knows his every gesture is watched, scrutinised in detail.
But why does he want to take the risk?
Why is he so tempted to just go talk to Jinyoung without any care in the world?
He won’t do it, at least not now, when they barely met and don’t know each other properly. But maybe someday, it’ll happen.
He smiles at the realization that he might actually have something with Jinyoung in the future.
Maybe he’s going ahead alone, maybe he’s just going to be disappointed but when he quickly looks back at Jinyoung, there doesn’t seem to be any hesitation in his eyes. Somehow, he seems amused, happy and eager.
Jackson tilts his head, eyes questioning the other, who only seems to know how to smile mysteriously.
Is he thinking about the same thing?
The singer is too curious, he needs to know what the actor is thinking, so he walks back towards him, confident, head high, shoulders straight.
Jinyoung puts back the glass on the table behind him, leaning on it with both hands to keep him steady.
Jackson has only one thought in his mind by now, get in his personal space, make the other as distracted as he is with his presence.
But he doesn’t, he just walks slowly towards the actor, smiling as he sees the other finally reacting, the faint blush on his face betraying him.
“So, Jinyoung-ssi, is there a reason you won’t stop looking at me?”
Jackson is direct this time, because he wants answers, but also because he needs to know if the other thinks the same.
“I don’t know Jackson-ssi, do I need a reason to look at you? It doesn’t seem to bother you when it’s everyone else,”
Jinyoung is nonchalant with his answer, looking around them to prove that Jackson is clearly only focusing on one person.
“I don’t care about everyone else, I care about you,”
“Oh, really? What are you going to do then? I’m not gonna stop staring at you, you also did it to me,”
“I have a reason though,”
“I do too, don’t really want to share it however, particularly if it’s with you,”
Jinyoung is teasing him, riling him up. And while Jackson might be smiling brightly, he’s clearly losing his mind talking to the actor.
He only has one option at this point.
He gets closer and closer to the other, their faces a few inches away from one another, but then he goes for the ear instead.
“I thought Jinyoung-ssi was beautiful, it seems like he’s a brat too, uh?”
He clearly hears the gasp Jinyoung lets out, clearly hears how the actor stops breathing for a few seconds. And Jackson enjoys how he managed to disrupt the other’s calm appearance.
“So what do you say? Everyone is looking so, do we give these people something to gossip about or do we give them something to gossip about?”
Jackson knows there’s no way this small encounter won't be in the magazines and newspapers tomorrow, even if he doesn’t know Jinyoung that well, his own popularity is no joke, and his dating life is some people’s entertainment.
Jinyoung composes himself pretty quickly, and the singer is pretty sure the acting skills do come in handy in these kinds of situations.
The actor’s hand is on his nape all of a sudden, and it’s Jackson’s turn to be surprised at how forward the other was.
They’re not kissing, they’re just looking at each other, lips almost touching. The angle though, the angle makes it look like they definitely are, and by the cheers in the room, Jackson knows they did it.
“You wouldn’t want a date with me, right?” The singer whispers
He only gets an amused smile as a response from Jinyoung.
IS JACKSON WANG DATING PARK JINYOUNG?
The rumours started after a tweet went viral yesterday,
‘I am a waiter at *** party hall and I saw Jackson Wang kissing someone last night.’
It also seems like these claims are also backed by a video where we can clearly see Jackson Wang’s profile, kissing someone against a banquet table.
According to our sources, Actor Park Jinyoung, was the one Singer Wang Jackson was supposedly kissing yesterday night at the Moon Gala. He’s known for his roles in Devil Judge, He is psychometric and Yumi’s Cells.
We still don’t know how and when the both of them did meet, but looking at these pictures and videos something is happening between them.
We will get back to you with more info as soon as possible!
Jackson expected this to happen, but the way the articles are trending on Naver is quite surprising.
He can’t help but smile looking at the pictures and videos the guests gratefully provided the media, making sure that his and Jinyoung’s sudden plan was a success.
Nothing much happened after the small scene, the guests were all so startled by the sudden happening that they couldn’t stop talking about it.
Jackson and Jinyoung, however, got away very quickly, not wanting to be swarmed by curious and leeching people.
Not without getting each other’s phone numbers though.
[“Jinyoung-ssi, you do realise what’s going to happen tomorrow right?”
“Of course! Do you regret it already? I thought you were braver than this Jackson-ssi! You asked me to give them something to write about remember”
“I did, and I’m not regretting, I’m just asking if we should do something about it tomorrow”
“Well, give me your number, and we’ll talk about it when the entire room is not looking at us like preys”]
The singer shares the article’s link with the actor, making sure to add a few laughing emojis to show his amusement.
Jackson tried to imagine Jinyoung’s face looking at his phone. Maybe he’d be laughing a little, maybe he'd be amused, maybe he’d be pissed.
There’s no way for the last option to be true since Jinyoung was the one to take the first step at the gala last night, but again, Jackson doesn’t know the other well enough to actually be sure about these kinds of things.
He doesn’t have the time to dwell on it further, since Jinyoung calls him all of a sudden.
“We did a good job, huh?” He seems amused, the smile very present in his words
“Yeah we are the talk of the night. Everyone is wondering how this happened,”
Well, Jackson is also wondering how that happened.
For him, it was a lot of interest in Jinyoung and a tad of boredom that led him to ask for this. He doesn’t know how it was for Jinyoung, but he hopes it’s the same answer as his.
“Well, should we answer them or?”
“How would you answer hypothetically?”
“That you were right there and that you asked for it” Jinyoung answers, with a teasing voice.
“Doesn’t that sound very explicit?” Jackson says laughing a little
“It’ll keep the attention on us for some time though”
“Do we need the attention?”
“Will I be lying?” Jinyoung asks, tone going higher
“Well, no. But,”
“Then it’s final, if someone asks, I’ll answer that.” Jinyoung interrupts him and Jackson is clearly at a loss of words.
“Stop teasing me,” He whispers, pouting
“I can hear the pout from here, and I’m just telling the truth.” The actor declares.
“Why are you teasing me like this?” Jackson whines
“Because it’s cute to hear you flustered,” Jinyoung answers, confident.
“Oh, then you think I’m cute uh?” Jackson counterattacks, “well, I think you’re cute too!”
Jinyoung doesn’t speak for a few seconds and Jackson realises he probably shocked the other by being this forward. He can’t stop now, can he?
“I think that you’re cute, that you’re pretty, that you’re very interesting, that I would love to get to know you better, that-“
“Please stop!” Jinyoung shouts at the other end of the phone call and Jackson can’t help but laugh out loud.
“Oh, seems like someone doesn’t handle praises well, uh?” The singer asks, when he finally stopped giggling.
“Usually, I’m good with them, but with you it’s different,” The actor answers truthfully, voice a bit lower than before though.
“Seems like I need to get you used to them then, right? My offer for a date still stands, you know? Should we do that over dinner? And maybe we could give the reporters something else to talk about too?” Jackson offers, the reporter's part being a safety mention in case Jinyoung didn't see him that way.
The other side of the phone is silent for a few seconds.
“Well, we could give them a good scene at the same time, it’s not like they will know what we will be talking about. Saturday at 7? I’ll text you the address”
“It’s a date then, let’s do that!”
“Bye Jackson-ssi, see you on Saturday!”
“See you on Saturday Jinyoung-ssi”
Jackson has a mission for Saturday now, get Jinyoung to call him Jackson by the end of their date.
It’s Saturday, Jackson is waiting for Jinyoung to come down in his apartment building’s private parking lot. The singer is also pretty sure the car right in the corner behind him actually has a few reporters in it.
He knows it, and yet, he’s still taking the risk, because Jinyoung and he did start a game, but also because he’s not planning on giving up on a date with the actor either.
He tried to ignore them, taking out his phone instead so he can text Jinyoung about his whereabouts.
Seems like they’re meant to be with each other because a text comes right as he unlocks his phone.
“Red or blue?”
“Red”
“I’ll be right there in 2 min”
2 mins, 2 mins Jackson can either spend stressing out or that he can spend lurking online to see if he’s in the breaking news again.
He doesn’t think the reporters would be as stupid as to reveal where he was when the building also housed multiple celebrities, and he’s also not driving them to a restaurant either, so there’s no way they’d know what is going to happen.
Jackson doesn’t really have the time to think about it further, since his car’s door opens suddenly, Jinyoung sitting next to him very quickly.
The man is wearing a grey casual suit, with red roses patterned black shirt. There’s a red handkerchief in the front pocket and Jackson guesses that’s the reason the actor had asked for his opinion.
“Hello Jackson-ssi, how are you?”
The man is smiling widely, eyes disappearing and Jackson’s heart almost hurts at the sight.
“I’m more than fine, we do have a few reporters right behind us though,”
“Oh, it’s fine. It’s not like they didn’t suspect things anyways” Jinyoung says, amused, watching as Jackson reverses from the parking spot.
“By the way, there’s something for you in the backseat. I wasn’t sure what to get you but I hope you like it,” Jackson blurts out, one of his hands trying to grab the small gift bag behind him.
Jinyoung beats him, laughing softly as he watches the other struggling.
“Stop laughing at me! And look if you do like the present, uh?”
Jackson hopes the actor is going to like the present, it’s something Jinyoung might use on a daily basis, but still special enough that he would think about him while using it.
“A notebook?”
“I heard you liked taking notes, writing quotes of your favourite books, or writing poems during your time off, so now you can think about me doing it!” Jackson admits sheepishly, keeping his eyes on the road rather than the passenger next to him.
He does see, however, Jinyoung caressing the details of the notebook, the gold and copper-coloured cover to the thick white-coloured pages inside. He smiles at the actor’s reaction, happy he had pleased the other.
And thankfully, because Jackson had spent a few hours debating on what to give the other, something that would make a great impact on the actor, something he would use.
“Thank you, I will use it well,” Jinyoung thanks him.
Jackson feels a grab on the hand he has on the shift, and he watches as Jinyoung softly caresses the back of it with his thumb.
He can feel himself blushing, because this is the first contact skin to skin they’ve had since the beginning, the first time they’re touching each other, and it feels so natural that the singer can’t help but want more.
He tries to focus on his driving more than on the fact that Jinyoung is holding his hand, but as he checks the back mirror, he can only sigh as he sees the reporters’ car trailing behind them.
“Well, they’re right behind us.”
“They’re probably expecting something then, no?” Jinyoung asks, looking at him
“Well, we could give them something to talk about again, you know?” Jackson questions back, smirking
Jinyoung laughs and seems interested at the offer, however-
“But I got us a reservation somewhere quite private so, literally apart from the Chef, no one will be here,” Jackson tells him, smiling softly
“Oh, impressive Jackson-ssi! Are you trying to show me how you usually woo someone? Taking out the big guns already?” The actor teases him.
“Well, this is just a teaser, but also, only the best for the best, right?” Jackson teases back, looking briefly at his right to see his date’s reaction.
Jinyoung rolls his eyes, moving to look out the window, a smile on his face. And Jackson feels like he’s gonna enjoy this dinner a lot.
The drive doesn’t take long, they mostly talk about the media’s reaction to their “scandal” and even though they’re still followed to the entrance of the private residence Jackson’s hired chef was working, the singer is content.
They’re alone in the room. A table had been arranged for them, red roses as a centrepiece, a few candles for the mood.
“Jackson-ssi, is this a special treat for me or is this something you do for people you want to impress?” The actor teases him, and Jackson laughs because he can’t help it.
“Aren’t we at a point where you can call me by my name? Without the -ssi?” Jackson asks genuinely curious, observing as the man in front of him looks at him, sassiness seeping through.
“It’ll all depend on how this date will go honey,” he answers smirking.
The singer should have expected that Jinyoung wasn’t like the other people he knew, no. Jinyoung was different, a different good, a different he wanted to get to know better.
The conversation comes easy to them, they somehow have a lot in common.
“So Jackson-ssi, do you know Chef Baek pretty well?”
“Actually, yeah! We met on a variety show and he even offered to be my personal chef when I was touring abroad!”
“Oh really?”
“Yeah! Didn’t you also meet him as a consultant for the role in Wokaholic?”
“I did, he was really nice, even if I was just a rookie back then. He brought lunch boxes quite often.” Jinyoung answers smiling softly, “I do wonder how you knew and remembered that information though, Jackson-ssi,” He adds, raising an eyebrow.
“I’ve had time to research and watch some of your works,” Jackson admits, cheeks flushing at how the actor discovered him pretty quickly.
What he doesn’t expect however is the other to start flushing too.
“Are you embarrassed? You shouldn’t be, you’re an amazing actor, be it now or at your debut,” Jackson tells him, sad that the other would think that way about himself.
“I’m not embarrassed, I’m shy that you did all of that, but also grateful that you took the time to check my dramas and movies,” Jinyoung declares after a few seconds of silence.
It makes Jackson smile, knowing he managed to make the other shy.
“My favourite role of yours is probably Kim Gaon, but it’s also probably because Devil Judge happens to have all of my favourite actors in them,” Jackson tells him enthusiastically.
“Are you saying I’m your favourite actor or?” Jinyoung asks him immediately after, a teasing smile on his face.
“Oh, well Jisung is first but you’re a close second?” The singer offers, laughing at the actor's faux offended reaction.
It’s easy talking to each other, it’s also easy being comfortable with each other.
“Oh wait, aren’t you releasing an OST for a drama in a few months?”
“Oh, yes. I’ve been offered a spot, it’s quite an honour, to be honest. The other artists are much more competent when it comes to these, this is my first time.” Jackson admits, quite nervous when it comes to talking about his emotions.
“Do you know which drama it is?” Jinyoung asks him, already smiling.
“Don’t tell me-“
“Yours truly is the main male lead in said drama!” The actor declares, bowing again like the first time they met and Jackson might be already on the floor at this point.
The dinner continues like that, with Jackson trying to stay as composed as Jinyoung tries to be, with the actor trying to dodge compliments to avoid getting shy, with the both of them definitely enjoying the company.
As they head out, dinner finished, the car is still waiting for them.
They don’t care, they never did in the first place, but as they drive next to them, they can’t help but laugh at how stupid they look.
“Do you think they realise how stupid they look, waiting like this for a scoop?” Jackson asks after they’ve calmed down.
“Nah, they’re way too interested about the money to actually care about their reputation or their image,” Jinyoung answers truthfully.
Jackson nods, because the actor is right, reporters, paparazzi don’t really care about the people they’re following, they only need the material at the end.
The drive back is calm, mostly because Jackson has turned on the radio, but it’s not awkward. It’s comfortable, almost funny how they laugh when they hear Jackson’s songs playing out loud.
“Will I ever get to see you sing live?” Jinyoung asks, as Pretty Please comes to an end.
“Well, I have a concert in a few weeks, so if you want to come and see me…” Jackson offers him, excited that the other had wanted to see him on stage.
“It’d be an honour for me Jackson-ssi,” Jinyoung tells him, and the singer doesn’t know if the other is genuinely interested or if he’s teasing him again, but he laughs because he’s looking forward to it anyways.
Soon enough, they’re back in the parking lot, the car still following them, and Jinyoung doesn’t seem to want to get out of the car.
“Jinyoung-ssi, we’re here.”
“I know, I’m just thinking,”
“About me?”
“Well, yes, it involves you,”
“Are you thinking about whether we talk to each other casually?” Jackson asks lightly
“I was wondering if we should give them something to gossip about again,” Jinyoung whispers as he points to the car parked right next to theirs
“Oh-“
Jackson looks behind his date. His windows are tinted so anything that would happen would be outside.
“Do you have an idea? We need to get out of the car though if they get a visual”
“I do, just get out when I do,” Jinyoung tells him, winking as he takes off his seatbelt.
So Jackson follows his orders, climbing out of the car, walking around it to meet the actor in the middle.
Jinyoung moves them around, so he's facing the car, and he comes closer and closer to Jackson’s face.
“Are we doing like last time or?” Jackson cannot help but ask because their noses are nearly touching each other’s.
“No,” Jinyoung answers before pecking his cheek with an audible muah.
Jackson’s eyes widen at the contact, and he looks immediately at Jinyoung who simply smiles sweetly before slowly walking away towards the door.
“Thank you for the dinner Seun-ah, it was nice, I’m excited for the next time!”
THE RUMORS OF JACKSON WANG DATING PARK JINYOUNG ARE TRUE
The two celebrities went out yesterday night. Jackson Wang came around 7 pm to Park Jinyoung’s apartment building to pick the actor up.
The singer then drove the both of them to a private residential area where they spent around 3 hours.
They both got back to Jinyoung-nims’s apartment building around 10:30 pm. And it’s right at that point that we can probably say, the rumours are true.
Our sources linked the picture below, showing a clear image of Actor Park Jinyoung sweetly kissing Singer Jackson Wang.
None of the artists' companies have made announcements about the nature of the two concerned people's relationships when we questioned them about it.
We will get back to you with more info as soon as possible!
“Jinyoung-ah! I’m so happy you came, I really wanted you to be here!” Jackson exclaims as he sees the actor entering the waiting room.
The other seems as excited as he is, and he feels giddy knowing they both missed each other.
“Seun-ah! The first stage was so good!!! And the dance transition just after LMLYwas amazing! And your energy was PERFECT!” Jinyoung doesn’t stop praising him, hugging him tight as he speaks and it doesn’t help the singer who’s already red from exhaustion. (Thankfully, else everyone would know he's been blushing non stop since the actor was in the room.)
The both of them somehow end up on a sofa with Jackson laying on the other’s lap. He’s tired but so happy, and the hand caressing his head is not helping him stay awake. Eyes closed, he’s basically using the actor’s body to take a nap.
“Jinyoung-ah?,” He starts, voice laced with sleep, “were you saying that to make me feel better or was it really good?”
Jinyoung laughs for a few seconds and the singer can feel him shift underneath him.
“Seun-ah, you weren’t just good, you were hot,” The actor whispers in his ears, making him shiver all over, “kinda was horny after the show you put on for Oxygen to be honest.”
Jackson opens his eyes, feeling awake all of a sudden, seeing Jinyoung laughing at his reaction.
“You can’t just say that like this! Give a man a warning!” Jackson whines as he turns to his side, his back against the actor’s chest.
Jinyoung hums shortly before caressing his hair once again. Jackson feels himself slipping back into a drowsy mood, he’s feeling very comfortable, about to fall asleep.
“Jinyoung-ah?” He whispers
“Um?”
“I think you’re the one for me,”
PARK JINYOUNG SHARES A PICTURE OF JACKSON WANG: IS THEIR RELATIONSHIP OFFICIAL NOW?
The actor posted a photo an hour ago, with someone sleeping on his lap. The caption says ‘We share the same thought’. The angle does not let us see who it could be, but the outfit and accessories, added to the recent rumours of the actor, can only point to one person: Jackson Wang.
It seems like the actor was part of the Arena’s crowd, just before going backstage to meet up with the superstar.
Is this an official announcement or just another way to tease the media? We don’t know yet.
We will get back to you with more info as soon as possible!
