SCP-8458
Object class: Euclid
Special containment procedures:
Standard containment cell with the necessary facilities, though more open space to allow stretching of the wings to avoid they grow sore and stiff.
Regular health checkups and interview sessions to help development of the memory to work on amnesia from head trauma, experienced during first contact with SCP agents sent out to investigate.
Weekly exercising in wind tunnel at the facility, to keep wings in shape. As long this is allowed, SCP-8458 promises to not ask too often for being let out to fly the open sky.
During any containment breaches SCP-8458 does not attempt to escape, upon request from SCP personnel, but if outside of cell will seek out personnel to ensure everyone's safety.
During [Redacted] containment breach, SCP-8458 proved to have an instinctive wish to help and protect despite fragile towards blunt trauma, but showed to be able to block fire from [Redacted]'s attacks to protect researchers.
Description:
SCP-8458 is a human woman, assumed 22-25 of age, with dark tanned skin and blotches of vitiligo, white spots from lack of melanin, in the face and on hands, wrists, feet and ankles. The hair is silver white, eyes deep green.
From the back she has a pair of large wings, main base green with blue major flight feathers. Complete with a tail of feathers to help stir during flight, same colouration.
Upon first discovered from reports about a humanoid winged figure flying in the sky in the area of [Redacted], a team of field agents headed out to investigate further. Split in two teams, one searching from the ground and the other the sky by helicopter.
First contact was made upon SCP-8458 approaching the helicopter team in the sky, seemingly curious as she was showing no signs of aggression, waving to the team onboard. Due to an unexpected engine failure, the peaceful first contact turned in an unfortunate direction. The pilot lost control over the aircraft and crash landed. All of the SCP team had minor injuries from the crash landing thanks to standard armoured uniforms and safety protocols, but SCP-8458 was much less lucky. Caught in the vacuum caused by the helicopter's blades during the crash, she seemed to have lost control of her flight and was pulled along with the crash for a much less padded landing.
SCP-8458 was quickly secured and brought to nearest SCP facility for containment as well as to be treated for her injuries. Her bones proven to be much like a bird's, hollow with more fragility compared to regular human bones. Due to the serverity of the injuries, the worst was head trauma in the skull, SCP-8458 was kept in artificial coma during recovery. She did show to have a relatively fast healing rate, bones and other injuries recovering within weeks rather than months. The part taking longest being the fracture in the skull and believed to be the reason for her amnesia upon waking from her coma.
She remembers enough to introduce herself as ”Rowena” but much else seems to be fussy. Even with the experience behind her injuries among with the loss of her memories, upon being told the truth, she showed no resentment towards the team or SCP in general, for the accident. SCP-8458 does not hold any memories of her origin, what she is, where she's from or why she began appearing in the [Redacted] area at that time.
Addendum:
Researcher [Redacted] is to be kept from SCP-8458 lest his obsession gets him demoted to D-Class for [Redacted] towards SCP-8458.
