Summary:

“No, Mara. I still think our hotel is this way," her friend insisted, pointing a direction out on their map.

“I disagree, Susan," Mara replied, shaking her head. She took the map from her friend’s hands and folded it, very upset. She looked around a few seconds. “You must accept it, Susan, we are lost. I think we should take a taxi."

“No, Mara. I know where we are," she insisted, and took the map to examine it once again.

Work Text:

After several minutes in silence, Susan said, “Please, Mara, I’m right. Come on, girl." With a smile, she started to walk, not waiting for her friend.

“Are you in a hurry, Susan?” Mara exclaimed reluctantly and ran after her, shaking her head and cursing in a quiet voice.

Susan stopped at the crosswalk and when Mara was next to her, she turned. “What are you saying, Mara? Cursing again? You’ll never change, sweetie...”

“Oh, Susan! Please, leave me alone, okay?” She asked her, angrily. She nudged Susan. “You have to get your own way, don't you?”

“Why do you say that?” Susan cried, very surprised by her friend’s remark.

“Oh, my God! You never listen to me, girl. We always have to do what you think is best. I’m tired of that!” Mara was very angry with her friend now.

“Okay, okay!” Susan exclaimed raising her arms and then, threw the map to the ground. She was angry, too. “You can do what you want to, so, we will meet at the hotel! Bye!”

She turned her back on her friend and started to cross the street because the light was green. Mara didn’t say a word and watched her friend walk away without making an attempt to stop and think about the argument between them. She knew Susan was a very proud girl and wouldn’t do anything to sort it out and Mara was fed up with her.

“Fine, Susan, bye!” She shouted as Susan crossed the street. “I’m going to take a taxi and I'll get there sooner than you!”

It was at this very moment that Mara saw a car out of the corner of her eye. It was going fast, and it didn't seem like it was going to stop at the light.

“Look out, Susan!!” Mara shouted.

Her friend turned to her left when she heard Mara. Her voice was trapped in her throat, and she couldn’t make a sound. Her body was paralyzed.

It seemed like time had stopped. The driver was able to stop his car but the front of it caught Susan on the legs. She fell to the pavement instantly and hit her head. Darkness swirled up and took her...

Terrified, Mara ran toward her and knelt down next to Susan, calling her name over and over as she caressed her cheeks. She felt tears rolling her own face; if they hadn’t gotten angry with each other, that accident wouldn’t ever have happened.

A crowd began to surround them as Mara tried to revive her friend. Just as Susan opened her eyes and asked Mara, very confused, what had happened, they heard a man’s voice say, “Sorry, I’m so sorry, really...”

Mara’s head whipped around. She leapt to her feet and turned on him. “Are you crazy?" she shouted. "Did you even see the red light? She could have been killed!”

“I’m so sorry, miss. I didn’t see the red light and when I saw your friend crossing the street, it was too late. I’m really sorry.” His voice was sincere as he answered her.

“It looks like you were too busy talking on the phone," she added sarcastically, seeing his cellular in his hand. She stepped closer, her face inches from his.

He noticed that her eyes were beautiful, although now they were full of anger and fear. He bowed his head and accepted her words humbly. “You are right, Miss. But this doesn’t matter now. We must call an ambulance." He knelt down next to Susan and smiled at her. “How do you feel?”

“My legs and head hurt a lot," she answered almost in a whisper.

“Don’t move, okay? At least, until the ambulance arrives," he advised her as he dialed 911.

Fifteen minutes later, Susan and Mara were on their way to the hospital. The man told them he would meet them there, because he felt responsible. When the ambulance arrived at the hospital, everything happened very quickly. Susan was seen in record time as Mara waited impatiently in a waiting room, pacing back and forth and then, sitting down for a while.

“You should try to calm down a bit," he suggested suddenly from the door with a beautiful smile.

She stopped drumming her fingers on the chair next to her when she heard his deep voice. She stood up to face him and found herself staring, only for a few seconds but enough to realize how handsome he was. Oh, my God! He’s so gorgeous. Why didn’t I notice before? Oh, Mara! Stop thinking that! Don't forget that he ran over your friend with his car, so please, stop thinking such childish thoughts...

She cleared her throat and then swallowed trying not to lose her self-control. He crossed the room to her and offered her a plastic glass that contained some hot liquid. “I thought you might like some coffee. I hope you like cappuccino." He sat down next to her.

“Thanks," she said trying to smile gratefully. “I like it very much."

They drank in silence awhile and then, he broke it. “How is your friend? Have you got any news?”

She shook her head sadly and continued drinking her cappuccino. But he got up and started to pace back and forth. Mara could tell that he was tense by the expression on his face and how he rubbed incessantly on his stubble beard with his hand. His mind was busy thinking what he was going to do. He knew it was his fault, and he felt very guilty. If his agent hadn’t phoned him while he was driving, none of this would have happened, because he would have seen the red light and the girl crossing the street. But now, it was too late and he would pay for that mistake. Not only with his own money, of course, but if any reporters or photographers were around at the time of the accident, the press could destroy his image. That would be terrible... He decided that he should phone his agent and explain the situation. So, he told her he needed to make some calls and would be back right away. Mara nodded with a smile and watched him go out to the waiting room.

Several minutes later, she was tired of sitting, so she got up and threw her cup in the trash can and went out to the lobby. She headed for the receptionist to see if there was any news about her friend. All they would tell her was, “the doctor will come to talk to you in a few minutes”. She thanked the nurse and turned around to go back to the waiting room, and it was then that she saw him outside talking on his phone. She stood staring at him for several minutes. She had the feeling that she knew him, but she couldn't tell why. Where have I seen him before? I’m sure I know him but I can’t think how. A light came on in her mind and Mara smiled, very satisfied. Oh, my God! It cannot be possible. How could I have not realized that he’s the handsome actor that Susan loves? But, he looks very different now; his hair is short and his temples are starting to go grey.

She remembered him now, but with long hair when he was Antoine LaConte in the movie “Deuce Bigalow” and also, Ardeth Bay in the movie “The Mummy” and the sequel, because she had gone with Susan to see those three movies. Her friend had pestered her for a long time and in the end, she had agreed to go. But now, Mara decided that he looked very sexy with his short hair.

“I can’t believe it...” She whispered very amazed.

“Miss Sanz?” The doctor who saw her friend was behind her and startled her a bit.

“Yes, doctor”- She turned around and hoped for good news. “How is my friend?”

“She’s resting now. Her legs aren’t broken, there were only some contusions and her head has a big lump from her fall, but nothing serious. Even so, Miss Sanz, I think it would be better if she stayed at the hospital tonight. Only as a precaution, do you understand?”

“Yes, I do," she replied feeling relieved. Luckily, she hadn't been hurt worse. “Doctor, what room is my friend in?"

“She is in room 230. Second floor on the left when you go out of the elevator," he explained with a big smile and then handed some forms over her to fill in. “Oh, I forgot, Miss Sanz. I’ll need you fill this form in. It’s for the insurance bill."

“What?” She said in shock. She had forgotten completely about that, and didn’t know how she would pay the hospital bill. They were just two tourists. “I...I can’t...”

“Don’t worry about the bill, Miss." The handsome man said suddenly. He was standing behind her and his voice startled her a bit. Then he gently took the papers from her hand. “I’ll take care of it. It’s the least I can do, isn’t it?” He smile and then, winked at her.

She blushed. She couldn’t help it, because that man was so handsome and also, Mara knew who he really was. She was certain of it now when stared at him closer. “Thank you," she said giving him her best smile.

“You’re welcome," he replied. He gazed at her intensely but she looked away timidly.

“Well, Miss. I must go now. If you want, you can see your friend. I think she’ll be glad to see your face."

“It's all right if I visit her, doctor?”

“Of course. But it will have to be a short visit. She needs to rest."

“Don’t worry about that, doctor. Thank you for everything." She shook the doctor’s hand and watched him walk away.

Mara turned and spoke to him. “I’m going to see my friend. Would you like to come with me?” She could feel her face starting to get redder.

“Of course. She needs a big apology...” he answered, smiling at her.

“Then, come on!”

And the two went to the room where Susan was. They headed for the elevator in silence but when they got in it, Mara realized that he had the form in his hand, and asked him about it. He answered that he will fill it in later. First, they should visit Susan. Then he asked about her friend’s health and Mara explained to him what the doctor told her. When the elevator doors opened, Mara couldn’t help but chuckle as she imagined Susan’s face when she realized who was the owner of the car that would hit her. Surely, she would scream...

“Susan...? Sweetie, are you all right?” Mara whispered. She walked into the room, the handsome man behind her.

They could see the room was lit by a little lamp over a nightstand, next to the bed and Susan was sound asleep. She had probably been given a painkiller, they decided. Mara got closer to her and leaned down a bit. “Susan, do you hear me?” she whispered in her ear, but didn’t get any answer.

“I think we should let her sleep," he commented.

“Perhaps you’re right," she replied, disappointed.

“Let’s go," the man suggested and then began to walk towards the door.

Mara kissed Susan’s forehead and just as she took her purse to go out of the room, her friend woke up a little confused.

“Mara, is that you?”

Mara turned around quickly and got closer to her. The handsome man stopped and joined them, standing behind her and looking at Susan above Mara’s shoulder.

“Susan, you’re awake. How do you feel, honey?” she asked, tossing her purse over onto the sofa next to the bed.

“Oh, my God! My head feels like a drum pounding, boom, boom. Ooohh!” She raised her hand towards the sore place and caressed it softly. That was when she realized that she had a big lump on her head. “What the hell have I got here? Ouch! It hurts a lot, Mara.”

“I know, Susan, I know. But, please, don’t touch it." She took Susan’s hand off of her head slowly. “And your legs?"

“Well, the doctor told me they aren’t broken, but I’m sure I’ll get several beautiful bruises on them,” she answered with a good sense of humor in spite of everything. Both Mara and the man behind her laughed.

“I see you are a funny girl," he said, still laughing.

Susan realized that there was someone behind Mara, but she couldn’t see him well. Her vision was fuzzy from the painkillers they had given her. “Who is that?”

“He’s the owner of the car, who almost ran over you," Mara replied instead of him.

“Oh. The crazy one who tried to kill me?” Susan exclaimed, very upset but when her head started to pound again she calmed down.

“Yes, I am." He stood in the other side of the bed, opposite Mara. “I’m so sorry. Please, believe me." He apologized sincerely. He looked at Mara, who didn’t see because she was caressing Susan’s hair tenderly. He thought she was a beautiful woman with dark and long hair and expressive hazel eyes. When she talked she had a nice accent that he liked very much. He thought that she was a Latin girl or from another country, perhaps, Italy or Greece because of her accent.

Susan’s voice broke his daydreaming. “Okay, okay... I accept your apologies. But next time, you should drive slower, shouldn’t you?”

“Yes, I think so," he answered with a beautiful smile.

Mara almost melted when she saw him smiling like this. She wondered if Susan realized who he really was. She had just decided that Susan wouldn't figure it out when her friend spoke to him.

“You know, your face reminds me of my favourite actor, but I cannot see you well. My sight is still blurred."

He started to laugh, and Mara joined him.

“What is so funny?” Susan asked, a bit upset.

“Would you like to look at my face a little closer?” He said leaning over Susan not waiting for her reply.

She needed only a few seconds to know who he really was. Her mouth opened wide, and so did her eyes. Her voice was stuck in her throat and she could only make little noises that he and Mara didn’t understand. He straightened up and the two started to laugh again.

“Oooohh, my...God!” Susan shouted as much as she could, because of her headache. “He...he is...is...” The words wouldn't come out correctly because of the shock of having that famous and sexy actor so near her.

“Please, calm down or you'll have a heart attack, and I wouldn't want that," he said her kindly, still giving her his beautiful smile.

“Okay, okay." Susan was able to say two words in a row, but her heart beat very fast yet and she needed to breathe deeply and then, she calmed down a bit.

“Now that you know who I am, I think you should rest. It has been a hard day," he advised her and caressed her hair, a gesture that made Susan sigh in pleasure.

“Well, perhaps you’re right. My eyes won’t take a long time to close," Mara’s friend said, yawning.

“Take care of yourself and have a good sleep." He leaned again over her and kissed her warm cheek. “Good night, young lady."

“Good night," she whispered. Her cheeks felt very hot, and she guessed that they had to be redder now.

“Ah! By the way... will I see you tomorrow?” she asked suddenly.

“Yes, you will," he replied and then turned to Mara and told her that he would wait for her outside.

Mara nodded and watched him leave the room. Really, he had a muscular body and a perfect bottom that she liked very much.

“Well, Susan. You need to sleep, so close your blue eyes and rest, my friend." Mara kissed her cheek. “I’m sorry for getting angry with you. I didn’t mean to shout you like that. I think if we hadn’t started that fight, you would be well and not, here." Mara caressed gently Susan’s face feeling guilty for everything.

“Hey, don’t say that, Mara. If this hadn't happened, I wouldn’t have met him, my true love, my perfect man...” Susan sighed happily. “Imagine that, sweetie, a car almost ran over me today and ironically the owner of the car is the most handsome and sexy man of the world... My hero...” Susan sighed again deeply and put her hand on her chest.

“Okay, Susan! You’re...impossible," her friend said, shaking her head. “Now, close your eyes.”

“Yes, mum." Susan spoke with a baby’s voice, teasing her friend and then, closed her eyes at last.

“Good night, honey. Sweet dreams." Mara kissed Susan’s forehead and turned around to pick up her purse from the sofa and went out of the room.

But her friend whispered her before she went out. “Mara, please, make sure you get an autograph, okay?”

“Don’t worry, Susan." And she closed the door slowly.

Mara saw him leaning against the wall, waiting for her and when he saw her, he smiled.

“Would you like to have a coffee?” he asked.

“Yes, I would."

“Then, let’s go to the hospital snack bar," he suggested, showing her the way with his arm.

Mara saw that he had still the form in his hand and asked about it. She didn’t want to be suspicious but she needed to be sure that he would do what he had said he would.

“Don’t worry. I will fill it in before I leave. Now, I would like to talk awhile with you if you don’t mind, of course.”

“I would love to have some coffee with you," she replied, her voice very sweet that made him feel warm inside. This woman was very warm and had beautiful eyes that he could imagine getting lost in.

“You will think I’m rude because I didn’t introduce myself,” he said when they sat down at an empty table with their cappuccinos.

“You don’t need to do that. I know who you are." She smiled at him softly. “But, I think that in my case, I must do it. My name’s Mara Sanz." And she stretched her hand out and waited for him to take it, now that they were formally introduced.

“Nice to meet you, Miss Sanz.”

“Likewise. But you can call me Mara.”

“So, then you can call me Oded.”

“Well, I think, Oded, that the pleasure is all mine.” Mara smiled at him, but felt a bit taken aback at sitting next to a famous and handsome actor. Granted, he was not her favourite, she had to admit that she was beginning to like him.

“Why do you say that?” he asked, staring at her intensely.

What eyes, my God, she thought, feeling a shiver running through her back. She had to look away and drink from her cappuccino before answering him.

“Because, I don’t get the chance to meet a person like you every day.”

“But I don’t think that I intimidate you.”

“What? Why do you say that?” she asked, amazed by his remark because she knew that was not the truth.

“You seem quieter than your friend when we were in her room. And now, too.”

“Oh, yes! I’m the quieter of the two but now, I’m trying to get my nerves under control...” She replied avoiding his gaze as best she could.

“You’re doing an excellent job...” he said leaning over the table a bit and then winked at her.

That wink disarmed her strategy and she started to tremble inside because of his nearness. She thought she needed to regain her self-control or the conversation would be a disaster. He could think that she was a hysterical girl and that wasn’t true.

He realized her nervousness and understood it, so he thought he had to play down the situation between them.

“Susan and you, are you living here in Los Angeles?”

“No, we aren’t. We are just two tourists. We are on holiday and in three days, we are leaving this city," she explained.

“And, where you two are from?”

“Well, Susan is from Germany but lives in London. We met there two years ago when I went to London to work in the summer."

“But, you aren’t German, are you? Your accent is different."

“You’re right. I’m from Spain."

“Oh, Spain! I thought you could be from Italy or Greece because you look like a Mediterranean girl, but I didn’t think of Spain," he explained. He had never met a woman from this country and felt like a little boy with new shoes, very excited. He drank a bit of his cappuccino and then went on talking to her. “Tell me, Mara, do all the women from your country have the same mysterious and beautiful eyes that you’ve got?”

Mara was surprised by his remark and couldn’t help but blush. Why did he say that? She thought. Is he just being kind with me or perhaps, is he trying to seduce me? No, Mara, that's silly...She tried not to think that possibility.

“I...I...well, thank you for the compliment," she said finally when she found her voice. That man was so gorgeous and was treating her so kindly that she couldn’t believe that this was really happening. It had to be a dream...

Mara and he went on talking about themselves a bit more, but when he realized what time was, told her he needed to go.

“I’m sorry, Mara. You’re a very nice girl and I’ve enjoyed talking with you, but I have to go. There are people waiting for me. I'm sorry.”

“Oh, please. You don’t need to tell me that. I understand you perfectly. I know you have a very busy social life, so... if you need to go...” She didn’t finish her sentence. He put his hand over her and caressed her softly. She was redder than ever.

“I’m glad we met, in spite of the circumstances.”

“Me, too." She withdrew her hand from his softly.

Mara and he stood up and went out of the snack bar in silence. She noticed that the women stared at him as if they had recognized him or perhaps, because they thought he was a handsome and sexy man. Mara didn’t mind that, she only felt very happy to be next to him, sharing a cappuccino and a nice chat in private. Surely, her friend Susan would die when she told her the wonderful experience of having a famous actor so near but meeting him as a person. He was really a great and sensitive man with a good heart. This was what she thought about him now that she knew him better.

He accompanied her to Susan’s room but before Mara went in, she stood on tiptoe and gave him a sweet kiss on his cheek.

“Thank you."

“Thank you, what for?” he asked, feeling very surprised for her kiss.

“For everything. I don’t know, for the cappuccino and the chat and also, for wanting to pay the hospital bill.”

“I told you it was the least I could do. It was my fault, after all," he replied seriously.

“Okay." She lowered her eyes and blushed.

“By the way, Mara, will you stay here all night?”

“Yes, I will sleep on the sofa. It seems comfortable," she answered with a little laugh.

“Well, I should go now. I’ll go down to the reception and fill this form in”. He showed her the papers he had still in his hand.

“Perfect."

“I'll see you tomorrow. I’ll try to be here in the morning. I promise.”

“Don’t worry. I’ll understand if you cannot come," she said in a sweet tone of voice.

“But, I want to," he added seriously.

Mara didn’t dare retort him, so she said nothing, just smiled at him.

“Well, Mara. I've got to go now. See you tomorrow." He gave her a kiss on her cheek. “Bye.”

She waved goodbye and then went into the room.

Twenty minutes later, her eyes closed easily, and she couldn’t help falling asleep on that sofa; it was actually very comfortable. The last thought she had in her mind before falling in Morpheo’s arms was about Oded. She couldn’t believe she had actually met him. That seemed more than a dream, a great divine act and she would feel like in heaven a long time as she thought of the time spent with him, talking like two good friends and above all, the opportunity to gaze into his beautiful brown eyes, of listening his deep and seductive voice and of feeling his full lips on her cheek when he kissed her. Wow..!!

After that, Mara was completely sure that he would be her new favourite actor. And also, she knew when she went back home, nobody would believe her, but that was another story...

****************************

Oded finished filling the form in and handed it over the receptionist. He went out of the hospital and headed for his car, when suddenly the thought of that girl called Mara invaded his mind and couldn’t help but smile. He could still hear her voice and laugh and smell her perfume. He shook his head trying to get her off of his mind, because he knew she would leave in three days and he would never see her again. But Mara’s face came back once more to his mind and he felt bewitched by her mysterious and beautiful eyes.

He opened the car door just as his phone went off. His agent’s name was lit on this phone screen and he sighed, wondering what he wanted now. Oded spoke to him awhile, first in a normal tone but then, he started to get angry with him. His agent explained that the next day he had to be in San Francisco to meet an important producer and he couldn’t cancel the appointment. Oded was very upset about that, because he had promised Mara and Susan that he would be at the hospital the next day and now, it wouldn’t be possible. He was going to break his promise and that was a thing he hated doing.

He said goodbye to his agent, hung up the phone and sighed again. He closed the car door and then turned around and headed for the hospital once more. When he arrived at Susan’s room, he knocked softly and, not waiting for a reply to come in, Oded opened the door and saw the room was still lit by the little lamp over the nightstand. He closed the door quietly and realized the two girls were sleeping placidly, Susan, on her bed and Mara, on the sofa. Oded got closer to Mara and bent down so he could see her better. He couldn’t help but smile because Mara looked so vulnerable and angelic, being asleep. He felt the urge to caress her hair and face but he didn’t do it, although he felt his body start to arouse because of her, a girl, practically a stranger whom he had shared a short time with, but Oded had to admit that he enjoyed it a lot.

He examined every inch of her face and liked her lips very much. Mara had a sensual mouth, and Oded wanted to kiss her, but once again held his urge. Suddenly, he remembered why he was there, and searched his pockets for paper and a pen to write a note to Mara. When he finished, he put the note carefully in Mara’s hand and then, leaning over her, he finally kissed her lips but tenderly. It was a sweet, warm and soft kiss and as if she could feel it, a nice smile appeared on her lips. Then, Oded stood up and went out of the room and unfortunately, their lives, too.

When he closed the door, Mara woke up, confused, wondering where she was exactly. Two seconds later, she knew she was at the hospital. Mara realized that she had something in her hand and was surprised when she noticed it was a piece of paper. What’s that? She wondered while she unfolded the note and then, read it.

Mara,

I’m afraid I’ll have to break the promise I made you, but tomorrow I have a very important meeting that my agent just told me about over the phone. I’m so sorry. Anyway, this is my phone number. Call me whenever you want. I would like for us to keep in touch. But, I ask you, please, that would have to be our little secret, okay? I’ll try to see you before you go back to your country, but if that doesn’t happen, I wish you have a good trip back home. It has been a pleasure meeting you.

Oded

Mara had to read it twice because she couldn’t believe what she had read. She noticed that at the end of the note there was a phone number. She smiled, feeling very amazed, but at the same time, she thought Oded was very thoughtful to write her that note, apologizing for not being able to come back the next day.

She put the note in her purse and then, got up to see how Susan was. Her friend was asleep with a quiet expression on her face. Mara caressed her cheeks and hair and then, leaned over Susan and kissed her forehead tenderly. Then, she went back to the sofa and lay down on it and closed her eyes, falling asleep quickly.

*************************************

“Mara, please, wake up”. Susan asked her once more while she gave her little hits in her shoulder to wake her up.

Mara finally opened her eyes, very confused and after several seconds, she reacted and knew where she was exactly. She turned and stared at her friend.

“What do you want, Susan? Why did you wake me up? What’s going on?”

“Honey, look out of your window!” Susan said, very excited.

She did what her friend asked and saw a city beneath them, and she turned again towards her friend.

“Sweetie, we are at last in Los Angeles!” Susan exclaimed very happy.

“I see." Mara’s head was still between mists and she needed to recover her total clarity. She shook her head and when she was going to talk, Susan made the first move.

“Are you asleep yet?”

“No, I’m not already, Susan.”

“Well, then, you can tell what you were dreaming. I guess it had to be an exciting and interesting dream," she said winking at her.

“Why do you say that?” Mara asked, very amazed.

“Because you had a permanent smile on your face when you were sleeping, mostly at the end," her friend explained, growing more curious.

“I see." Suddenly, Mara realized that what she had thought was real, was only a dream. Her friend hadn’t suffered an accident and of course, she had never met Oded. Mara sighed, disappointed by that.

“Well, are you going to tell me that dream?” Susan insisted breaking her daydreaming.

Mara sighed again and cleared her throat. “Honey, I’m afraid I don’t remember it fully, so...” She didn’t know why she lied to her friend, not wanting to explain this wonderful dream.

“Oh, Mara!” Susan complained. “At least, can you tell who the man was made you smiling like this? Because, I’m very sure there was a man...”

“Well...yes, there was a man in my dream," Mara said, with a sparkling gaze that her friend noticed.

“So, George Clooney was the man?”

“No, he wasn’t and you wouldn’t ever guess who the man was," Mara said, teasing her.

“What? Are you telling me there was another man in your dream? You always dream of him, Mara!" Susan shouted, very amazed and not noticing that other passengers were staring at them and were very attentive to their conversation.

“Please, Susan, lower your voice. Everyone is looking at us.”

“Okay, okay...” She replied in a quieter voice this time and then, cleared her throat. “Well, you can give me all the details. I’m all ears.”

Mara opened her mouth to talk but the stewardess’ voice started to ask them that they fasten their safety belt because they were going to land in a few minutes. So, Mara said nothing and Susan complained again. “Sweetie, you are going to tell me, aren’t you?”

“I’m afraid not, Susan. Don’t worry. When we are at the hotel, I’ll tell you my dream, okay? If I can remember it, of course.”

Susan accepted reluctantly but didn’t say a word more.

Mara didn’t really want to do that, because a part of her mind thought that wonderful dream could be a kind of prediction and she believed that if she talked about it, she could break the magic and she didn’t want that.

While the plane landed, the thoughts about Oded fluttered incessantly within her mind.

We are now in Los Angeles. There’s a chance of bumping into Oded. Well, one between a million or two million. But, if my dream is a possible prediction, maybe my luck could change. Maybe...

Mara sighed deeply and a smile full of hope appeared on her lips.

The end
