The stars are falling!

Summary:

Charlie discovers fireflies

Notes:

This is short and sweet. I wish it was longer, but meh. Maybe one day I’ll rewrite it to make waaaay better than it is. But I’m gonna post it anyways :D

I hope you enjoy this. I think the idea of Charlie discovering fireflies is really wholesome,

Work Text:

The sun slipped between the cracks of the horizon, allowing the moon to glow like a beautiful pearl in the sky. And around the time where the sky is beautiful and purple, the fireflies like to come out. Filling the ground with a beautiful yellow glow.

Tonight in particular Charlie and Quackity were together. Outside. Las Nevadas was in the distance, the big sign was visible as well as the tall skyscrapers. The two of them sat a little bit away from the city near the fields.

Charlie was looking at the sky and at all the pretty stars. The moon was so pretty tonight! It was a half moon, so nice. He held Quackitys hand, a faint smile on his face. He looked to the ground, and a bunch of flickering a yellow light.

Charlie gasped, “Quackity from Las Nevadas! The stars are falling!!” He said, tugging at Quackitys sleeve and pointing at the ground.

Quackity hummed, “The stars are what..?” He said, looking away from the sky and at the ground. He saw the tiny little flickers and laughed, “Those aren’t stars, Charlie. Those are fireflies.”

“Fireflies?!” Charlie said, his eyes widening. “Do they set things on fire?!” He asked, a very concerned look on his face.

Quackity laughed at Charlies facial expression, “What? No! They don’t set things on fire!” He said.

“Then why are they called fireflies?!” Charlie asked, looking at the glowing bugs lighting up on the grass.

“They’re called fireflies because they glow and they look like fire.” Quackity chuckled, “Don’t worry, they’re harmless.”

“Fireflies… that’s stupid! I think I’ll call them Glowflies.” Charlie said, smiling at Quackity. Glowflies. It sounds so much better than fireflies to him.

Quackity sighed, “Alright sure. Glowflies it is. Now wanna learn how to catch one?” He asked.

“Ooh! Okay!” Charlie said excitedly, running to the grass with Quackity close behind.
