-bokuto: akaashi! let’s go eat lunch together!
akaashi was just finishing an assignment for class. they heard bokuto’s call and looked up.
bokuto- come on! :D
akaashi smiled, putting his books in his bag.
akaashi- sure.
both bokuto and akaashi were known as the “inseparable duo ‘ because they did everything together, and if they didn’t, they would make up for it by spending the next day together. students of fudurokani knew this because bokuto was always around akaashi. and bokuto was the schools golden retriever, for how he would always lift everyone’s spirit. and for some reason, akaashi was always there.
as the two were walking towards the cafeteria, bokuto spoke up.
-don’t we have a practice match against some school today?
akaashi- i think so. i think the school name was like.. neko something?
bokuto- so is it like.. a school of cats?
we’re gonna be playing against cats?
akaashi- bo, our team is literally named after an owl..
bokuto- so the game between the cats and owls!
akaashi- sure, that should be interesting.
a group of girls approached bokuto and akaashi. one with golden locks and a grey sweater vest, another with black hair and a blue bow tie, and one with brown shoulder length hair and a chain necklace.
the brown hair girl spoke,
(??) - uh, bokuto-san? could i talk to you in private?
bokuto- eh? sure?
akaashi watched as bokuto and this anonymous girl walked around the corner.
akaashi- “i’ll find a table for us bokuto.”
bokuto waved with a smile as he walked with the girl.
bokuto- is something wrong?
(??)- uh, no, i just wanted to ask you a question
bokuto tilted his head to the side, wondering what this girl could be on about.
the girl in question pulled out a letter with a heart sticker out of her pocket, bowed down, holding it out infront of her.
(??) i’ve liked you for a really long time and i wondered if you shared the same feelings!
you don’t have to respond or anything, you can think it over, or just decline!
bokuto took the note; with a confused face.
bokuto: uhh.. i’m not sure if im the best to have a crush on, i don’t like women..
(??)- oh that’s okay-wait.. you don’t like women?
bokuto shook his head with a toothy smile.
bokuto: “nope, women are pretty, don’t get me wrong, but i don’t see myself being in a relationship with a woman. no offense.”
(??)- none taken! but is there someone you like
in this school?
bokuto handed back the note, nodding his head blushing.
bokuto- yeah, uh he’s kinda waiting for me at lunch right now.
(??)- YOU LIKE AKAA-?!
bokuto slapped his hand over the brunnets mouth.
bokuto- “not even i’m that quick to spill someone’s secret! please keep quiet about this!”
(??)-muffled- sorry.. and okay!
bokuto lifted his hand off her mouth.
(??)- you should tell him!
bokuto- i’m not even sure he likes guys.
(??)- you don’t see him hitting up any girls, and he doesn’t have any female friends.
bokuto- you’re right- wait.
(??)- ?
bokuto- you know my about my love life within 5 minutes of knowing me, and i don’t even know your name.
(??)- ohhh,, sorry, i’m chanzie.
bokuto: alright chanzie.
(back to akaashi’s pov)
it’s been about 10 minutes now, and akaashi’s worried about what could’ve happened to bokuto. He knows that in reality, nothing bad could happen to him, but it’s weird for akaashi to be away from bokuto without feeling a little weird.
akaashi stood up, and walked out the cafeteria. while looking for bokuto, he stopped in his tracks after hearing someone say,
“i’m not even sure he likes guys.”
“you don’t see him hitting up any girls, and he doesn’t have any female friends.”

should i turn this corner? i don’t wanna interfere on their conversation.

but akaashi still being a young curious soul, he still turned the corner, to see the owl with frosted tips talking to the brunet.

huh? wait, bokuto has a crush on someone?
not just someone, a guy at that?

akaashi- bokuto? are you finished yet?
bokuto turned his head to see akaashi, as his heart fell to his stomach.
bokuto- hey akaashi!! did you hear anything?
akaashi- nope, not one word.
and off were the duo, smiling as always, but now with secrets only so many know.
