The Miracle is You

Summary:

What if instead of Mirabel being pushed to the side after her ceremony her Abuela still treats her as her precious granddaughter and remind her that she is still as special as the rest of her family in her own way. What if Alma makes little changes in the beginning with how she treats her family and especially how townsfolk treat Bruno; what will happen? Will the cracks still surface or those little changes strengthen the Miracle?

Notes:

I always wondered how the story would have played out if Alma not only showed Mirabel she was still loved after her ceremony, but also be supportive to her. Also this will be a Mirabel/Mariano romance; mostly fluff NO SMUT!!!

Chapter 1

Alma POV

Alma didn’t know what to do; she couldn’t understand why Mirabel’s door disappeared and what’s worse the look on her nieta’s face when it happened.

All Alma wanted to do was hug her and let her know everything will be alright, but she needed to calm down their quests. To remind them the miracle is still as strong as ever.

After their guests left she went to her son Bruno for help.

“Please Brunito, I wouldn’t ask you to do this if it wasn’t important.”

“But mama, my visions aren’t always clear; even I don’t understand what they fully mean,” Bruno stated.

“I know, but I need to know what does this mean for safety the of our family and the safety of the Encanto,” Alma replied

After much deliberation Bruno agreed; after he had the vision Bruno showed his mother. Alma was confused at what she saw.

“How can the vision not be certain?” asked Alma

“I don’t know Mama. All I know for sure is that our future depends on Mirabel; whatever happens will come down to her,” said Bruno.

Alma thanked her son and left Bruno’s room; she then went to check on her daughter Julieta. She saw her daughter walking out of the nursery, struggling to hold back her tears.

“How is Mirabel, mija?” Alma asked her daughter

“Oh mama, I don’t know what to do,” stated Julieta “Mirabel kept asking me if something was wrong with her and why she didn’t get a gift. I tried answering her questions the best I could, but my baby is scared. She thinks she is worthless without a gift.”

Hearing her daughter tell her that broke her heart. For Mirabel, her precious nieta, to think she is nothing without a gift is something Alma won’t stand for. She gave her daughter hug and a kiss and told her to go rest.

Alma then went into the nursery.
