Chapter Text

Fundy chews slowly, staring blankly at the blonde in front of him. “What do you want now?”

Dream pouts, trying to snatch a berry from the other's lunchbox. “I have no idea what you mean, fox boy.”

“Don’t call me that,” the ginger growls out, smacking the blonde's hands away. “And it’s just that whenever you come to me, you need something or…or you're in trouble and you need my help!”

“What if I just want to spend some time with you?” The blonde grumbles, nursing his stinging hand. He eyes the berries, undeterred by the menacing look the other is giving him. “And you keep ignoring me whenever I try to talk to you during class!”

Fundy rolls his eyes, cheeks turning red as he guards his lunch. “That’s not true! And besides, shouldn’t you be spending time with your friends instead of coming over here and bothering me?”

“You're my friend too,” Dream says offhandedly, ignoring the fox hybrid’s scoff. He rummages through his pockets, taking out a crumpled piece of paper. “And for your information, I was wondering if, you know, you’d be interested in joining this?”

The ginger hesitates, face scrunched up as he reads through the decorated paper. “Why is it in such bad condition?” He blurts incredulously, raising an eyebrow. “And…gaming club? I didn’t even know that this school had clubs.”

“That’s because you just transferred, fox boy. Anyways, are you gonna join?” Dream asks, bouncing in his seat. He coughs, trying to mask his excitement. “I mean it looks like fun.”

“Why would I join this loser cl…” the fox hybrid trails off, words stuck in his throat as he notices the blonde’s furtive glances. He hums thoughtfully, trying to hide his smile. “I mean, uhhh, I wouldn’t know anyone there, so...”

Dream grins brightly, popping a berry into his mouth. “Well, you know me, so that’s one person already!” He remarks, successful in keeping the fox hybrid unaware of his act of theft. “And it’d be a good way for you to make friends!”

“I thought you were my friend?” Fundy questions teasingly, tilting his head to the side. “I mean, you are , right?”

The blonde nods, the tips of his ears red. “Of course! But you should socialize more! And if you joined, we could spend more time together,” he states before standing up. “So, I’ll see you tomorrow?”

“What? Wait, Dream!” The ginger protests, shaking his head. He watches as the other suddenly runs away, frozen in place by the absurdity of the situation. “Wilbur would never let me join such a club! Hey! Dream, stop!”

“It’s at 2:30! Don’t be late!” Dream yells cheerfully over his shoulder, ignoring the stares he attracts. “I’ll be waiting!”

Fundy clutches the paper in his hands, face red as he slams his lunchbox shut. “Well, if you say it like that, then there’s no way I’ll be able to say no,” he mutters, sighing. He hides his smile behind his hand, watching as the blonde crashes into a teacher. “Crushes are the worst .”
