Chapter 1: Chapter 1: Where Did You Go?

Chapter Text

It had been a slow 8 months since the infamous leader of the Teen Titans, Robin, left on a trip. Surprisingly, not many crooks took advantage of this temporary departure, mainly minor thieves and villains, like Control Freak and Mumbo caused mischief around Jump City, San Francisco.

Even at Titans Tower, things were slow and lacking interest.

Cyborg and Beast boy had been so bored, they'd excessively played the same video games to ease their boredom. Raven lacked something interesting to do, she remained in her room only leaving for minor needs. Starfire did nothing, but merely wallowing in misery. She levitated around the tower counting the days, Robin had been gone.

He'd brought few items along on this trip excluding his communicator. No one had heard from him, since two months into this departure, leaving the question everyone had on their minds; Where did he go?

Of course, no one expected the day he'd return, would be today.

Everything was normal, given boring or miserable had become the new normal. The morning began like any other, it was Starfire's turn to get the mail, so she headed to the entrance. The automatic doors opened revealing the one person she'd missed for eight long months.

There were obvious differences in his appearance, he'd finally hit that growth spurt in his time away. He'd definitely grown taller, he towered over her by a few inches. His grease, black hair grew thicker, and frankly he decided to keep it that way. His mask was slightly smaller, his cape was lengthened which was obviously not growth. He'd filled out where he missed as a teenager, his shoulders were broader. He was no longer lanky, but gained more muscle, since the last time She'd seen him.

But Starfire was no exception, since the last time Robin had seen her, she'd done some changing and growing, as well. She grew no more than a few inches, her hair lengthened as well as thickened, and was now put up in a high ponytail. She filled out healthily. She was no longer unusually skinny, but healthily proportioned, while maintaining her hourglass figure. Her eyes were slimmer, and didn't wear her normal crop top, short skirt and mid-thigh length boots. She wore a conformed, magenta leotard, and bright pink, mid-thigh length slightly heeled boots.

Everyone changed in their own ways.

For a second, She was speechless. She couldn't believe, he was really standing in front of her.

"Hey, Star," Robin spoke greeting her with a wide smile on his face. His appearance wasn't the only thing that changed, his voice did, too. He was just as happy to see her, as she was to see him.

The moment he finished that sentence, Starfire squealed louder than anything he'd heard alerting the others. She jumped and raced into his arms, squeezing possibly even crushing his bones.

"ROBIN!!!!!"

Maybe that was what she did, crush his bones.

Struggling to breathe Robin managed to get out, "Star, You're sssqueezing mme.."

Before realizing what he'd said, She excitedly squeezed slightly tighter and kissed his cheek. When his words got through to her, and she thought about what she'd just done she loosened her grip, and stood back.

Robin nearly blushed a crimson, as a smirk formed on his lips.

The other three Titans, were there two minutes after they heard the squeal, and saw it.

After a sly smirk forming, Cyborg approached him fist bumping him, "Yo, Man, you're back!! For a moment there, I thought you were gone for good."

"Believe me, It wasn't even a thought," Robin assured still his grin wide.

"I'm guessing, You finally hit that growth spurt. You're what? 6, 2? Can't call you shorty, anymore, now, can I?"

"Nope, Sorry, but you're losing that nickname." Robin responded then looked to Beast boy, "Beast boy!! Wow! You've changed, for sure. Looks like, Raven owes you something." He glanced at Raven with a sly smile.

"I don't know what you're talking about," Raven stated refusing to go through with something that she never thought she'd have to do.

"Wait, What?" Beast boy asked in confusion completely forgetting what had happened a year back.

Raven smirked at Robin.

But lost it when Robin decided to explain, "Don't you remember Beast boy? Last year, you asked Raven to dinner, but she clearly claimed and I quote, ' Not a chance, unless you can magically grow taller than me, it won't happen', you were saying, Raven?"

The half-demon narrowed her violet eyes at him, and Robin responded in an amused smirk.

"I really don't like you."

"Good, Cause I'm not leaving anytime soon, you're stuck with me."

Beast boy smiled and looked at Raven, "Does this mean...." "No." Raven interrupted.

"Dude, Why didn't you call, and tell us you were comin'?" Cyborg asked as they all walked inside.

"I figured, I'd surprise you, Guys."

"Well, it is, indeed, a very, surprising surprise!" Starfire giggled and Robin lightly chuckled.

They all left to the Living Room to catch up.

They went on for hours about how slow everything was outside the tower, that they would've thought villains would try to take advantage of Robin being gone and use it to commit more crimes, but they were wrong.

"Sounds like I didn't miss much," Robin stated.

"Oh, but how we have missed you so," Starfire hugged him from behind.

Robin patted her arm in slight comfort, "Sorry, I didn't mean to stay away for so long."

"Do not trouble yourself, you are here, now and that is what matters." Starfire assured as she removed her arms from around him.

"How were things inside the Tower?"

Raven said plainly refusing to show any worry, "Meehhh."

"Wow, I feel really appreciated, Thanks, Raven," Robin playfully stated.

"No problem."

"None of us, hardly did anything. When you first left, it wasn't too bad. Starfire and Raven went shopping to get Star's mind off of your absence. She was pretty miserable even the first day you'd left. We tried to go out for pizza, but we all agreed it didn't feel the same without you. BB tried to go to the movies, but normally you lend him some money to go, so he couldn't. I tried to upgrade my circuits, but nowadays, it's a two man job. Otherwise, things have been pretty slow," Cyborg explained.

"Now that you are here, shall we do the celebrating of your return?" Starfire excitedly added.

"Sounds like fun, Starfire, but I think, seeing you guys is celebration enough. We could go out for pizza? If everyone is up for that?" Robin suggested in a satisfied tone.

"Alright! Pizza's on me!" Cyborg shouted.

"In that case, I'm ordering two pizzas," Beast boy declared playfully.

"But we have just one question, Where did you go?" Cyborg questioned as they reached the entrance of the Tower.
