Regulus POV
I walk in to the coffee shop with James thirty minutes late. James has a big announcement so he asked that everyone meet him at Billy’s coffee shop. When we walk in everyone is already there chatting away and when we enter my brother Sirius and his lovely boyfriend Remus turn their heads to face us. Sirius speaks as soon as we approach the table.
“Where have you been?”
“We’ve been waiting here for hours” Sirius put a hand up to his forehead dramatically and tilted his head back slightly.
James spoke as he and I sat down. Remus on my left and James on my right. “We got caught in traffic.” “You live five minutes from Billy’s Peter pointed this out and everyone burst in to laughter.
James stopped laughing and became business like folding his hands in front of him on the table and then he cleared his throat. It took awhile for everyone to stop laughing and pay attention. James began “Raise your hand if you know why your here.” No one raised their hand. James nodded and said “good.”
Remus asked “So why are we here.”
James smiled “drumroll please” everyone began to drum on the table or their lap.
James practicality screamed “WE’RE GOING TO MY FAMILIES BEACH HOUSE THIS SUMMER!” There was a lot of collective cheering and and whistles (coming from Marlene) once everyone had settled down they all stared at me because I probably looked like I had seen a ghost.
Now don’t get me wrong I love the beach there’s just one thing I don’t like about it…
“What’s wrong?” James asked his smile had faded a little but I could see Sirius smirking out of the corner of my eye. I knew what he was going to say.
“If you say anything Sirius I’ll tell Remus about your ‘traumatic’ incident when you were nine” I put air quotes around the word traumatic because it was more funny than traumatic. Remus looked between Sirius and I hopefully telling me that he didn’t already know.
Sirius didn’t listen and proudly announced “Regulus can’t-“ I reached over Remus and clasped my hand over his mouth. He licked my hand but there was no way I was moving my hand.
Sirius said through my hand “Regulus can’t swim” it was muffled by my hand but if you listened you could make out the words.
James looked between the both of us and then he focused his gaze on me and raised an eyebrow and said with a small smile “it’s fine if you can’t swim I’ll just buy you some floaties”
I could feel my face heating up and I knew that everyone could see me blushing and then I heard Sirius laugh through my hand so I took my hand off his mouth and smacked him on the head. He rubbed the back of his head while pouting and then he burst in to hysterical laughter and so did everyone else. I buried my face in my hands and laughed with everyone else.
When we were all done laughing Remus leaned toward me and whispered “you’ll tell me what happened later right?”
“Obviously” I answered
