Chapter Text
The snow glistened, the sun hitting just right to make it sparkle. Though pretty, it’ll blind you if you aren’t ready. That's the problem Ranboo is having right now. They just opened to curtains, blinding themselves and in turn Tubbo. “What the fuck is wrong with you!”
Ranboo turns to Tubbo, the smaller curled in a ball and facing away from the now open window. They chuckled, “We need to get up. We’re meeting Tommy, remember?” Tubbo groaned, opting to throw the covers back over his head.
They don’t falter, they’ve grown used to Tubbo’s hatred for mornings. Ranboo just throws back the covers, picks Tubbo up, and starts walking. “Ay! Why do you that every.single.damn morning.” “Cause you wouldn’t get up otherwise.” “I’ll swear at you.”
Ranboo looks down at Tubbo, eyebrows raised in fake shock, “Oh, will you?” He nods, “ ⏚⟟⏁☊⊑'' They bark out a laugh, “I could keep going.” “I know you would.” He notices Micheal’s door slightly open, “But you wouldn’t do it in front of Micheal, would you?”
Tubbo rolls his eyes, “Well I could if SOMEONE didn’t decide to teach him Enderian.” Their response is to dump Tubbo onto the floor in front of Micheals's door, stepping over the Tubbo heap and into the room. Micheal is still peacefully sleeping, the blinds slightly open.
Ranboo smiles, kneeling down next to Micheal. Tubbo comes in, carefully maneuvering his way onto the bed behind Micheal. Tubbo ruffles his head, gently shaking him. Micheal opens his eyes, sleep leaving him once he sees Ranboo.
He springs out of bed, launching himself at Ranboo squealing in excitement. “⌿⏃⌿⏃! ⌿⏃⌿⏃!” Ranboo had now wrapped their arms around the small piglin, listening to him emit whatever noise he could. “Awww, I want a hug too”
Ranboo looks down at Micheal, black beady eyes looking back at him, “What do you say? Should we let Bee join in?” Micheal nods excitedly, getting up off Ranboo and dragging Tubbo to where they were just sitting.
Ranboo opens his arms, letting Tubbo slide into them. Micheal clambers back onto Ranboo’s lap. They wrap an arm around Tubbo, keeping him from falling off their crossed leg. Ranboo watches fondly as Micheal climbs in and out again to grab stuff to show the pair.
They look over at Tubbo who has a big and bright smile on his face. Ranboo can’t help but smile too, Tubbo just has that effect on them. No matter how they’re feeling, Tubbo is just able to bring up the mood whenever and wherever.
Tubbo notices their staring, “Take a picture, it’ll last longer.” Ranboo sighs, shaking their head. Tubbo leans closer, “Do tell me, what is going on in that head of yours, Boo?” Ranboo doesn’t flinch, also used to Tubbo’s attempts at flirting.
They just wrap their tail around Tubbo’s head, tickling the back of his ears. Tubbo giggles, a sound Ranboo will never get tired of hearing. Honestly, there’s a list of things that Tubbo does or says that Ranboo will never get tired of.
They couldn’t list them all of course but they’re in a special part of their memory book. They hold these moments with Tubbo close to their heart. They both know how some days can get where they can’t stand touch at all so these days where they can cuddle up and enjoy the other's touch is always special.
“Come on, Tommy’s stopping by and we aren’t even dressed yet.” Ranboo stops the small assault on Tubbo’s ear, letting Tubbo stand up then takes the hand offered to them. They both realize that Micheal has beaten them downstairs, grabbing his cup from the fridge.
They settle into their morning routine and when they’re finally dressed, they head outside. Despite the snow, it’s warm outside, the sun coming down and warming the family. Micheal is laughing, throwing snow around, chasing small animals, and just enjoying the outside.
“Ohhhh Tubbo!!” Tommy comes bounding down the hill, smiling the whole way. Micheal squeals excitedly, Tommy throws open his arms and catches the fast-moving Micheal. Whatever he was holding was forgotten as Micheal pulled Tommy to the duo on the porch.
Tommy flashes another big smile, “Hey Ranboob, how’re doing.” They roll their eyes, the nickname has been around since they met and doesn’t show any sign of going away.
“Hello to you too Uncle Mommy.” His smile drops instantly, Tubbo and Ranboo break out into a fit of laughter. Micheal however just lights up, “Mommy! Unc’ Mommy!” Tommy sends a glare towards Ranboo, “You mother-”
A snowball hits him square in the face, “No swearing around the kid. We talked about this.” Tommy wipes his face, “We did. I just wasn’t listening.” Tubbo shakes his head, “Whatever, you ready?” Tommy nods, putting down his bag.
He pulls out a bat, red baseball, and a small glove. “Now tell me why you thought this was a good idea.” Tubbo looks up at his husband, “We used to play baseball back during OG L’manburg.” “Yea! Tubbo, Wilbur and I would be on one team while Niki, Jack and Eret were on another.”
“It was when times were peaceful before Dream decided to attack us then we didn’t have time to play.” “That sounds fun but why is the baseball red?” Tommy rolls his eyes, “Well, we’re playing in the snow, aren’t we? When we hit the ball, we’ll find it easier.”
“Duhhh'' Tommy hands Micheal the glove, Tubbo tugging it on his paw. Tommy grabs the bat, grinning madly at Ranboo, “You ready to do some running boob boy?” Ranboo nods but doesn’t get a good feeling about this.
Ranboo is utterly exhausted. Apparently running back and forth for the past 3 hours will wear you out. The group walks into the house Ranboo collapses on the couch once they get inside and their coats off. Micheal climbs on top of them, pushing himself under Ranboo’s arm, poking their cheeks.
Ranboo takes their tail and pokes Micheal in the face repeatedly. Micheal swats at the tail, giggling but failing to stop the pokes at his head and face. “Boo, stop torturing him. You're gonna make him-”
“Achoo!” Ranboo flinches at the spit that flies in their face. Tommy and Tubbo start laughing their asses off, Micheal eventually joining in. Ranboo wipes his face, “I’m glad you three find this funny.” “Oh, it is very funny. Now get your lazy ass up, Micheal needs to go nap and he goes down easy for you.”
Ranboo gets up, picks up Micheal and heads to Tubbo to let him say goodnight. They head up to his room, they walk in and they notice that one of his windows is slightly open. They sit Micheal down on his bed, tuck him in then closes the window.
Must have opened it this morning
They shake it off as just them forgetting to close it earlier. They kiss Micheal on the head then leave the room, not noticing the small smiley face etched on the window frame.
They head back downstairs, Tommy and Tubbo sitting on the couch, three plates of food on the coffee table in front of them. Tommy’s head is on Tubbo’s shoulder, Tubbo’s hand running through his hair in a seemingly calming way. “Hey, something wrong?” Tubbo shrugs, “He just kinda fell silent and pushed himself under my arm. Clingy little bitch.” Tommy grumbles something, Tubbo snorting, “Yea, sure Tom. Whatever you say.”
Tommy then looks up at Ranboo holding his hand out to them. Ranboo makes their way over, sitting on the couch. Tommy takes Ranboo’s hand, fiddling with their fingers, squeezing the tips of them. “You ok, Tommy?” He shrugs, “Just unintentionally avoiding a feeling I’m having.”
“What feeling?” Tommy sits up, looking Ranboo dead in the eye. They shift a bit uncomfortable, y’know, half enderman and all. “I’m not used to feeling this safe.”
Ah
It’s no secret that the three have been through a lot. It’s hard to feel truly safe sometimes. Tommy finally looks away, the hybrid sighing a bit in relief. He settles back into Tubbo, bringing Ranboo with him.
He still fiddles with his fingers, slightly kicking at Ranboo’s tail. They just wrap it around his ankle, Tommy relaxing a bit more. The feeling of Tommy relaxing relaxes the other two. Although Tubbo and Ranboo had offered their support, Tommy insisted on working through things with Puffy.
After a while, Tommy started showing up at their door. He would tell them stuff that was happening and the days he wouldn’t come, he would send Ranboo or Tubbo a message.
It was clear that he cared about how they felt and he knew how worried they were for him and with his personality, it was hard to get him to sit with them sometimes. This was a step up from how things were going a couple weeks ago.
“What's the plan for the rest of the day?” Tubbo shrugs, “We just do what we need to while Micheal is sleeping.” “Can we stay here? Like this?” Tubbo smiles softly, “Course we can, big man. Could we move to somewhere more spacious?” Tommy nods, moving to get up and taking the duo with him.
He takes them upstairs, pushing the door open into Ranboo and Tubbo’s room. He climbs onto the bed, Tubbo coming behind him, sitting side by side he lets Tommy rest his head on his. Once Tommy is settled against Tubbo, Ranboo joins them.
They settle onto Tommy’s right side, poking his side. Tommy cracks a smile, Ranboo not stopping. Eventually Tommy starts laughing, he grabs at Ranboo’s hands, desperate to stop them. Tommy turns towards them, placing his head on Ranboo’s arm, his own wrapped around his stomach to protect himself.
“Prick” Ranboo just smiles. Tubbo comes around to the other side of Ranboo, sliding himself over their crossed legs and into their lap. He tucks his head under Ranboo’s chin, wrapping his arms around their waist. Ranboo slings an arm around Tubbo’s shoulders and feeling a tug on their other arm, turns.
Tommy had latched himself on their left arm, clinging to it like a koala. Both hands gripping Ranboo’s arm, head laying on their arm. Ranboo places a hand in Tommy’s hair. They slowly move their arm out of Tommy’s hands and scratch his head, moving their hand through Tommy’s hair.
Tommy sinks further in Ranboo, a small content smile etched on his face. They bring their tail around and wrap it around Tommy’s waist. The trio just sits there, relishing in the comfort of the others. Ranboo knows that this won’t last but for the time being, they’re just gonna let themselves live in the moment.
By now, Tommy is dozing, head falling before he brings it back up. “You can sleep y’know. We won’t mind.” Tubbo yawns, “Yea, it’s good. I’m falling asleep over here too and I know Boo is too.”
He nods, not point in denying it. “What if something happens while I’m asleep?” Ranboo moves their hand down from his hair to the back of his head, pulling it to rest on them, “We’ll wake you up if we need to.” “Ok, that doesn’t exactly put me at ease but I guess nothing will nowadays so sure whatever.”
He moves so his head is resting on Ranboo’s shoulder, their hand still in his hair. Tubbo watches Tommy relax and eventually drift off. After Tommy finally relaxes then Tubbo relaxes too. He lets himself relax against Ranboo, “Good thing I’m taller, huh?”
Tubbo chuckles, “Go to sleep Bee” Tubbo doesn’t argue, leaning against Ranboo’s chest, he can hear a purr deep within their chest. He lets that and the constant beat of their heart lull him to sleep. Ranboo can feel the moment Tubbo falls asleep and when he does, Ranboo closes their eyes.
They let the feeling of their best friend and husband ground them as they drift off with them. They rest their head on Tubbo’s, hands resting in both of the boys hair. As they drift off they can’t help but think
Man, I hope nothing bad happens
