Work Text:
The season was drawing to a close and the Tachibana Red Falcons had played their last game for the year. Kita enjoyed watching the Falcons play and he was watching reruns of the matches he had missed. He especially enjoyed watching the post-match interviews. Aran was so calm and collected, his answers direct and never vague, until he was asked about the ring he had been wearing as a necklace all season.
Suddenly he was struggling to choose where to look and his words were fumbling over each other. He did his best at nullifying the rumors of him being in a secret relationship with literally any woman he had been seen interacting with out in public. He calmed down and held the ring between his thumb and index finger, "I'd prefer to keep them a secret," he said with a soft smile, "at least for now." Kita couldn't help but smile back.
"I'm home," Kita heard Aran say but not the Aran on the TV.
Kita lightly squeezed the ring on his finger, "Welcome home."
Aran walked over to where Kita was on the couch, gave his hand a kiss before dropping to sit next to him.
"You're watching this again?" Aran asked with a light chuckle, still holding on to Kita's hand, "You know you don't need to watch me on the TV anymore, I'm right here."
"I know" the smile never leaving his face.
