Chapter 1: Fourze

Summary:

Ryuusei might have friends or something now

Notes:

Set right after the movie

Chapter Text

It had been tiring , Ryuusei thought. Going to space, finding out that they had been tricked, mecha nonsense despite being Kamen Riders , Gentarou being able to use his powers…a lot had happened. At least they were all together, now, the eight of them in the Rabbit Hutch. Oosugi had left, overly grateful that they hadn’t died. Please. Apparently the power of friendship WAS powerful enough to save the world, so they were fine.

However, it was oddly quiet. Ryuusei looked around and found that the others had crashed . Tomoko was asleep at her little alcove, surrounded by her goth items. Miu and Yuuki were huddled amidst a bunch of stuffed animals. Shun and JK were asleep at the table, Shun sprawled on it with JK on his back on a bench. Kengo was at his desk, with Gentarou next to him on the floor, long legs in front of him.

Ryuusei thought for a second and then started poking around in the various rooms. He found the silver space blankets and opened them. He spread one across Kengo’s shoulders, and one on Gentarou’s legs. Miu and Yuuki got one, since they were that close. JK got one, which he clutched to himself once it was on. Shun roused himself a bit when Ryuusei put a blanket on him, giving his signature two-finger salute before falling back asleep. Tomoko was dead asleep when he got to her.

Once he was done, he dusted his hands in satisfaction. There.

And holy shit , they were his friends now, weren’t they. Gah.

Chapter 2: W

Summary:

Philip's interest wanes but Shoutarou tries his hand at it

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

At this point, it wasn’t like Shoutarou was surprised when Philip got into something. This current obsession was sewing. He had somehow acquired a sewing machine, too, and was busy making basic pants and aprons and other clothing. He wasn’t great at it, but it kept him occupied and he hadn’t hurt himself on the sewing machine yet.

Of course, about a week later, there was a lot of fabric just hanging around and the sewing machine wasn’t being touched. And Shoutarou was bored.

The sewing machine was an older model, one that was easy to use. Shoutarou gathered some of the softer fabric, gathering six colors and cutting them into squares roughly the same size. This was just to use up fabric, so them being exact wasn’t his priority.

He lost track of time, sewing together rows of squares, alternating between black and green, blue and yellow, and red and gray.

When Akiko came over, he hid his progress. He didn’t want to risk getting bonked. But he worked on it little by little and eventually had something resembling a blanket. He didn’t have much fabric left, but there was some extra purple and some extra white fabric that he sewed together and put it so that it hid the edges of the squares. He wasn’t quite sure what to do with it, but Mikku made it his on the day Shoutarou accidentally left it out on a chair.

Notes:

This is sort of inspired by something I made in my sewing class. We had to make a stuffed animal for one of our assignments, and I somehow got wayyyyyyyyyyy too much fabric and ended up making a blanket (and pillow) out of the leftover fabric. Think baby blanket size and throw pillow on the couch size.

Chapter 3: Go-Onger

Summary:

Where, exactly, are these blankets coming from?

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

When Renn moved into Ginjiro, he noticed that there were five stickers on the walls, five sets of flags, and a few other things that were sets of five instead of three. It intrigued him, but he couldn’t really worry about it, not when he was about to start sharing a space with two people he didn’t know. At least he had found some blankets in a tiny cupboard, red, blue, and yellow.

It didn’t take long for them to get into a routine. They worked better together than people might have expected. Sosuke and Saki sort of knew each other, but Renn had gone to that race on a whim. And now they were fighting monsters together.

Hant and Gunpei joined them, which was a concern about space for about three seconds, but Renn squeezed them in.

When he went to see if he could find blankets, he managed to somehow find a green one and a black one. He was fairly sure they had not been in that cupboard before. Unless he had overlooked them 50 times. Which didn’t seem possible. Oh well. Blankets were acquired either way, and Hant and Gunpei were the new Go-Ongers, just like the walls had suggested.

Notes:

I don't think you're supposed to worry about this sort of stuff but I like coming up with explanations anyways

Chapter 4: Decade

Summary:

Four people in one bed means four blankets

Chapter Text

The four of them often shared a bed or a futon, caring not at all if it was too small. But they had to have separate blankets, they quickly found out. Daiki was the biggest blanket hog, followed closely by Tsukasa. Yuusuke rarely cared if there wasn’t enough blanket, while Natsumi would grumble.

Tsukasa’s blanket was a rich magenta, thick and soft. Daiki’s was cyan, velvet soft, thinner than Tsukasa’s. Yuusuke’s was red, thin and barely qualifying as a blanket. Natsumi’s was white, of medium thickness and medium softness. The blankets were kept folded in Natsumi’s room, where there wasn’t a danger of them disappearing with a room.

However, no matter how many blankets, they always ended up tangled together in the morning.

Chapter 5: Kiva

Summary:

Picnic

Chapter Text

“Come on, Wataru!” Megumi insisted. “We’re going on a picnic, you, me, Nago-kun, Kengo, Shizuka, all!”

“We’re what?” Wataru asked in confusion. He had been expecting to just do his usual violin making that day, but it clearly wasn’t meant to be.

“Picnic!” Megumi repeated impatiently. “Do you have any old blankets?”

Wataru obediently went to grab some old blankets out of a cupboard.

“Great, let’s go,” Megumi said. “You can even bring your violin.”

It ended up being quite nice, eating the food that the others had prepared and playing for them after they ate lunch. The blankets were dirty, but that was okay. They’d wash.

Chapter 6: Lupat

Summary:

Kairi the kiddo

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

“What was Kairi like as a child?” Keiichiro asked Shori, feeling awkward. He had been invited to eat dinner with both Yanos and wasn’t entirely sure how to proceed. Dealing with Ganglers seemed less stressful.

“Oh you know, a little troublemaker,” Shori said with a grin. “He had this blanket that he took everywhere for a while.”

“Aniki!” Kairi protested.

“It was red, and falling apart at the seams. It was an old one of mine he had found, when I was rearranging my room. Wouldn’t let it out of his sight.”

Aniki !”

“What?” Shori asked innocently. He reached over the table and pinched Kairi’s nose. “It was cute.”

Kairi pouted. “It makes me look not cool.”

“I’m sooooo sorry, LupinRed- san , that you were a typical child, not full of cool thief energy from the beginning.”

Kairi pouted harder.

Keiichiro had to smile. “He’s right, it’s cute.”

“Not you too, Keii-chan!”

Chapter 7: OOO

Summary:

Being nice to Ankh

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Eiji had no idea where the red sheet came from. It seemed like all the Greeeds could summon them, but from where, who knew. It was Ankh’s though, and he knew better to touch it.

It was getting colder though, and even if Ankh wasn’t human, Shingo very much was and it seemed like a good idea to get something for night. So Eiji decided to use some of his paycheck to buy some blankets, in red, obviously. He wasn’t sure what kind of texture Ankh liked, exactly, other than the leather and denim he wore, so he bought several types and left them in a neat pile on Ankh’s nest.

Most of them ended up hung around the attic, but the one that was basically a baby’s blanket but bright red remained in his nest.

Notes:

No, I haven't seen the 10 year yet, but I'll watch it later today. I am so ready to cry.
Also funnily enough, Red by Taylor Swift was playing as I wrote this.

Chapter 8: Kyoryuger

Summary:

King+blanket=cape

Notes:

No capes!

Chapter Text

Nossan was extremely used to King being King, and found it easier to ignore it, rather than get annoyed by it, like Ian often did. So finding King with a blanket around his shoulders as he trained with Ucchi wasn’t really something to worry about.

“How’s the cape, King?” he asked when King and Ucchi took a break.

“I told King-dono that it gets in his way, but he answered that it was good training,” Ucchi said with a slight frown.

“It is! But I can see why we don’t have them. Too bad, they’d look super cool if we did,” King said with a shrug, unpinning the red blanket that had a dinosaur pattern and throwing it haphazardly on a chair.

Nossan just nodded. Whatever floated his boat.

Chapter 9: Den-O

Summary:

Yuuto falling asleep

Notes:

I uh do not write a lot of him, do I. Sorry Yuuto, I get very confused. Also treat Deneb nicer.

Chapter Text

Being someone who was in charge of making sure the timeline was kept safe was certainly exhausting. It didn’t help when the other person who helped you had some of the worst luck in the universe.

But whatever. He was going to fix it, and everything would be made right.

At the moment, though, he was going to sleep. On a quiet train, not one filled with multiple Imagins that liked arguing, a weird cafe girl, and a weirder Owner.

He was just about to doze off in his current seat when he felt a blanket being placed over him, Deneb murmuring something that he certainly wasn’t going to listen to at this hour. But the blanket was warm and soft and Yuuto fell asleep for good once it was tucked in.

Chapter 10: Build

Summary:

Sento needs sleep

Chapter Text

The thing about being a Best Match with a genius was that sometimes, said genius wouldn’t go to sleep . It would be three in the morning, but nooooooo , instead of sleeping like a sensible person, Sento would be writing all over his whiteboards.

It was one of those times when Banjou decided to take matters into his own hands. No amount of coaxing was doing the trick, so he instead grabbed the blanket and wrapped it around Sento as he was standing in front of one of the whiteboards, muttering.

“What are you doing ?!” Sento asked as Banjou got him into a princess carry.

“It’s time to sleep , you idiot genius!” Banjou said, using his strength to make sure Sento wouldn’t wiggle out of his arms. He dumped Sento on the bed and started swaddling the blanket tightly around him.

“If you try to get out of this, I’m gonna make you sleep outside on the roof,” he threatened. But he didn’t need to worry, as Sento’s exhaustion clearly caught up to him and he was asleep within minutes. Banjou had to smile as he brought the burrito of blankets to himself so he could cuddle Sento.

Chapter 11: Shinkenger

Summary:

Sewing is hard, okay?!

Chapter Text

Chiaki groaned as he pricked his finger again , sticking his finger in his mouth before it could start bleeding.

“I told you to not jab so hard!” Ryuunosuke scolded, his fingers working deftly on his portion of the quilt they had been ordered to make, his needle going through his blue dragon with ease. Something about patience and how Samurai should have basic skills and that they were lazing around too much and clearly needed something to do.

“It’s not like I’m magically going to become better!” Chiaki complained, picking up his portion. It was pieces of green fabric pinned in a bear shape onto a square of white, and Chiaki was expected to sew it on without a machine. He had torn his thread thrice and none of his stitches were the same size.

“You can do it, Chiaki!” Kotoha said encouragingly. Her stitches were even and small.

“The more you complain, the longer it will take,” Takeru pointed out, tugging on a thread for his red lion. His skill were so-so, but better than Chiaki’s.

“Come on, Chiaki! The quilt is gonna be so cool when we’re done!” Genta said cheerfully, almost done with his gold squid.

“Darn it,” Mako muttered as her pink thread got tangled again.

Chiaki sighed. At least he wasn’t the only one having trouble.

And Genta was right, the quilt did look cool, with all their animals, weapons, characters for their elements, and names sewn on.

Chapter 12: Gokaiger

Summary:

Ahim makes blankets

Chapter Text

The GokaiGalleon had blankets, of course, that came with the ship, or at least that was what Ahim assumed. They were all basic black ones, and very functional, but as both a princess and a pirate, they were not anything Ahim wanted.

She made one for her captain first, a giant red blanket with fringe, something showy that encaptured his very soul.

The first mate came second, a warm blue blanket that was softer on one side.

Luka got a bright yellow blanket, big enough to share but also hard to steal when she hogged it.

Doc got a green one, quilted together in a scattered pattern, a little small, but it was what he requested.

Hers was pink and fluffy, and very warm.

Gai’s was made when he joined, a silver blanket that glittered in any sort of light.

All in all, blankets suited for the pirates of the sky.

Chapter 13: Ex-Aid

Summary:

Houjou Emu is not to be trusted carrying things

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Emu tried to protest against having a bundle of blankets placed in his hands, but the nurse was new and therefore didn’t know that Houjou Emu, respected Pediatrician, Kamen Rider Ex-Aid, was not allowed to carry anything unnecessary. True to form, Emu nearly dropped them all over the floor despite slowly and carefully making his way to the closet.

“Woah there, Ace, I got them,” Kiriya said, catching most of them, using his Bugster speed and teleportation.

“Really, Pediatrician?” Hiiro asked, having caught one with his face from when Emu had slipped, taking it off and frowning at it.

“I tried to refuse!” Emu protested.

“P’oh pie p--goodness! Emu, just call me over next time!” Poppy, as Asuna, said, sighing as she gathered the few that dropped. “Remind me to tell that new nurse to not give you anything.”

“Will do.”

Notes:

They kinda forgot about his clumsiness didn't they? Oh well, I didn't.

Chapter 14: Wizard

Summary:

Haruto in a tent and cranky about it

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Haruto sighed as he shifted yet again , trying to get comfortable. He would never understand Nitou and why he liked being out in tents when beds were a thing.

Especially when it was cold, like it was currently. They could have been in a real bed, but noooooo, Nitou had pouted enough that Haruto agreed to stay the night in a tent. A tent with not enough blankets.

At least he had his trusty Connect powers, which allowed him to grab some blankets off his own bed, and wrapped around the both of them, he could be truly warm.

Notes:

What Haruto didn't know was that he stole the blankets off Shunpei, who had stayed the night at Omakogedo in Haruto's bed and now had to go hunting for more blankets.

Chapter 15: Drive

Summary:

Shinnosuke finding Kiriko asleep/Kiriko has to find Shinnosuke

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Shinnosuke quietly came into the office, hoping that the Chief was gone and he could leave without having to work on the report due in a few days.

To his relief, the only person there was Kiriko, who was…asleep? Shinnosuke tried not to laugh as he realized that she was snoring softly, her cap falling off as her computer had a screensaver bouncing around.

Slowly, carefully, he removed her cap, placing it next to her. He looked into the lockers, finding that Kyu had a Murmur Mansion blanket in his. He spread it out and folded it in two before tucking it around Kiriko’s shoulders.

“Sleep tight, Kiriko,” he whispered after gathering his stuff, leaving with a small smile and a spring in his step.

Kiriko woke up, realizing that her husband was not in bed with her. As far as she could remember, Shinnosuke was home. She got out of bed, grabbing her phone to use as a flashlight.

A quick look into the living room got her her answer of where he was. He was asleep on the couch, long legs hanging off the edge, Eiji curled up on top of him. There was a blanket, one of Eiji’s and covered in race cars, but it had fallen off them. Kiriko badly wanted to take a picture, but the lighting was bad and she didn’t want to risk waking them up with the flash, so she just gently placed the blanket over them and went back to bed, smiling a little at the cuteness she had gotten to see.

Notes:

They are. very cute, actually.

Chapter 16: Kyuuranger

Summary:

Ship failure means the team is using blankets

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Sometimes, Raptor thought, it would be nice to be human. Sure, she was the best engineered android in the universe, but…being human sounded nice sometimes.

Like right now, when most of the team was bundled up, in blankets made by Stinger, hanging out in the main room, which was currently the only room with heat.

“Raptor? What do we need to do to fix the ship for the organics?” Champ asked, startling her as she tried to act like she hadn’t been watching Lucky and Tsurugi share a blanket.

“Right, let’s go to the engine, that’s where the problem is,” Raptor squeaked.

Still, it was super cute seeing Balance wrap Naga tighter, and seeing Kotaro nearly fall asleep on Stinger, startling awake every few seconds (poor thing had been kept up past his bedtime the last few nights), not to mention Spada using his as a cape as he passed out hot chocolate…

“Raptor!”

“Coming!”

Notes:

Me who was having floor time and was almost asleep and then startled myself awake real bad: put it in a fic

Chapter 17: Gaia

Summary:

Fujimiya on Gamu's couch

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

The thing about Fujimiya coming and going was that Gamu never had any idea when Fujimiya was actually going to be there when he got home.

Right now though, he had come into his living room after waking up and found Fujimiya knocked out on his couch, hair falling into his face.

“Oi, you’re going to catch a cold,” Gamu muttered, going back to his room and covering Fujimiya with the blanket off his bed, tucking it under as best he could.

Fujimiya didn’t even stir, which meant he was overworking himself, again.

A knocking on his door made Gamu startle, and even before he peeked through the peephole, he knew exactly who was on the other side.

“Georgie, Atsuko,” he greeted, only poking his head out in the hopes that that the girls wouldn’t come in.

It didn’t work, of course, although they certainly stopped dead seeing the sleeping Fujimiya on Gamu’s couch.

Notes:

I love Georgie and Atsuko lmaooooooo

Chapter 18: Ginga

Summary:

Camping with the friendship group

Chapter Text

“It’s been a while since we’ve done this, hasn’t it?” Chigusa asked.

“It has,” Kenta agreed. “Here, let me take those.”

Chigusa handed him the blankets she had been holding, grabbing the picnic basket that was stuffed with food made by Misuzu, leaving Kenta slightly put out as he realized that the basket was definitely heavier.

“A sleepover under the stars,” Hikaru said dreamily.

“Okay, that’s the last thing,” Misuzu said, handing Hikaru the tent bag. “Let’s go!”

The four of them cheered and made their way to an old favorite spot.

“Wake up, guys, the sunrise is beautiful,” Hikaru said, shaking his friends awake.

“What?”

“Come on!”

The other three got out of the tent, Hikaru handing them the blankets they hadn’t ended up needing to wrap around themselves.

It was indeed a beautiful sunrise, the four of them leaning against each other in slightly damp grass as it got lighter and lighter.

Chapter 19: Ryuki

Summary:

Kitaoka gets cold easily

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

There was nothing more annoying about being ill than the fact it made Kitaoka’s teeth chatter like crazy if he got the slightest bit cold. It was just so irritating, a little quirk that was hard to hide like the rest of his symptoms.

Goro, though, was a god-send, wrapping Kitaoka in blankets fresh from the dryer Kitaoka had splurged on if he heard the slightest hint of chattering. And as much as Kitaoka hated to admit it, that was a perk in of itself, watching Goro care for him with the expression that was for Kitaoka alone.

Notes:

Me wondering if the corrective jaw surgery I got when I was 17 would stop the chattering teeth problem I had my whole life like (no. not at all. teeth were chattering like crazy when i was doing errands earlier. it's not that fucking cold.)

Chapter 20: Toqger

Summary:

Fort time!

Chapter Text

“Testing, testing, Blue, can you hear me? I repeat, Blue, can you hear me?”

“Um, yeah, I can hear you.”

“You gotta use my code name!”

“Oh! Red, I hear you.”

“Do you understand the mission, Blue?”

“Yes?”

“No coming back until our mission is successful!”

“Boys! The rest of your friends are here!” Mrs. Suzuki called.

“Coming, Mom!” Right replied. “Do you hear that, Blue? Backup has arrived!”

They ran to the living room, where Mio, Hikari, and Kagura were getting their slippers on.

“Hey guys! We’re gonna make a fort, so it’s our mission to get all the blankets we can. But we can’t go in my parents’ room.”

Kagura lit up. “Do we have code names if it’s a mission?”

“I’m Red, and Tokacchi is Blue, you can be any color you want.”

“I’m Pink, then!” She started humming the theme song of a detective cartoon the five of them were watching.

“The fort will be in here, so gotta bring the blankets back to home base: the couch.”

“Don’t we need pillows to make a good fort?” Hikari asked.

“And chairs,” Mio added.

“Ooh, good point! Okay, you two gather those materials and Blue and Pink and I will get the blankets!”

It was a glorious fort, they all agreed once it was finished, blankets tastefully spread over the pillows and chairs, a perfect place to tell ghost stories.

Chapter 21: Kingohger

Summary:

The finest Toufu blankets

Chapter Text

“These are so soft,” Gira murmured as Kaguragi put a blanket over him, his hand coming up and drawing the blanket around him to be up at his cheek, sounding more than half asleep.

“The finest Toufu blankets, made of fine Toufu silk,” Kaguragi explained, draping a blanket over Yanma, who muttered something in his sleep, one foot kicking out.

“That’s why we only import our fabric from you,” Himeno said as she accepted two blankets, tucking one around a softly snoring Rita before wrapping the other around herself.

“It was quite fascinating to see your kingdom discover the method,” Jeramie added, accepting the last blanket and sitting down next to Gira.

“I shall explain that another day, Jeramie-dono! For now, please get some rest.”

Chapter 22: Orb

Summary:

Juggler?

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

“Gai-san! You’re back!” Jetta said cheerfully, barely looking up from his current task of knitting. “Cap’s gonna be back soon.”

“What brings Kurenai Gai back to Earth?” Juggler asked scornfully, cursing when the question made yarn slip off his own knitting needles.

Gai stared.

“What? Never seen a man be interested in keeping himself occupied?”

“Juggler-san is making a blanket for Cap,” Jetta explained, reaching over to gather the fallen yarn and easily setting it up again.

“Don’t tell him that!”

Notes:

I dunno I just really love post-canon Jetta being very not-afraid of Juggler

Chapter 23: Boukenger

Summary:

Miyu <3

Chapter Text

It was getting colder, something that Miyu was apparently not happy about.

“You know, she has fur,” Eiji said with a frown, looking at the pile of blankets that she was currently poking her head out of.

“She wants to be under the blankets,” Souta replied, his eyes not leaving the screen as he rapidly typed.

“I tried taking one earlier...don’t,” Masumi advised.

“Why, she scratches?”

“No, Souta does.”

“Those are Miyu-chan’s blankets, Masumi!” Natsuki scolded, adding yet another blanket.

“She HAS FUR!” Eiji and Masumi said in unison, only to cower at Souta’s and Natsuki’s expressions.

Chapter 24: Agito

Summary:

A very Shouichi situation

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Mana paused on the doorstop, listening carefully. She was pretty sure she could figure out what Shouichi was doing, even though it had been a few months since she had last seen him, it being the first time since leaving for college that she had come back home.

Sure enough, when she came in, he was washing dishes, singing along to some oldies song on the radio.

“Mana! I didn’t know you were coming this early!” he said when he caught sight of her.

“I texted you. Multiple times!”

Shouichi frowned thoughtfully. “Oh...I lost my phone then. Huh!”

Mana had a feeling she knew where it was, and moved past him to the linen closet.

Sure enough, there it was, lighting up with a text from Hikawa, on the pile of neatly folded blankets.

Notes:

Guess who keeps leaving their phone in the linen closet. Go on. Guess.
