Chapter Text

"Is there something going on between you two?”

"HUH?!"

Well, this was one of the most surprising thing that left Hitoya’s mouth ever since they got to know each other. The two never talked about their relationship or whatever was going on in their lives, so it wasn’t surprising to see Kuko choking on some spit and to hear him coughing loudly.

"Well…" The lawyer continued, pouring some more of the whiskey into his glass, before taking a sip, "I saw how Jyushi looks at you, and how he blushes everytime I mention your name. He isn’t subtle at all."

The young monk released a sigh and let himself put his feet on Hitoya’s glass coffee table, ignoring the rants about how he is „ruining his precious furniture he spent so much money on” — it’s not like it’s his office, so why should he care? "I dunno what the hell are ya talkin’ about. So what if he does that? We both know for sure that Jyushi is a weirdo."

It’s been few years since the three met and decided to form a team. They went through a lot together, but promised to never leave eachother; since they were a family.

However, their relationship started just because Kuko had no team to participate in Division Rap Battle, so it was their focus in the end. That’s why he was surprised when instead of discussing the strategy, lyrics and new songs, Hitoya came up with this assumption.

"Focus on somethin’ else, man!" — the teen would say, as he always hated distractions and was straight to the point… But right now, he was more curious than ever.

"Sure, Jyushi is a bit unusual, but no matter what you say, I’m sure that I’m seeing things correctly. He’s been too cuddly lately, I thought maybe you know why."

"As if! There’s nothin’ goin’ on between us!" The redhead scoffed, hating the smug tone in Hitoya’s voice, "Just 'cause he’s like this, doesn’t mean we are datin’ or somethin’!"

"No one said something about dating, though…?"

"Shut up!"

As Kuko was cleaning the floors of the temple on the warm, summer afternoon, he started thinking about the conversation him and Hitoya had not too long ago.

Sure, the youngest was a bit weird; mainly because of his clothes choice, makeup and way of talking, but in reality he wasn’t that bad; Kuko truly enjoyed his company, no matter how annoyed he might seem. But love? Dating? As if. They weren’t made for each other and the redhead doesn’t swing that way. Probably. Most likely.

However… Jyushi wasn’t that bad looking. His skin was extremely pale, but it wasn’t as if he looked sick or anything else. Not to mention, his long lashes and soft, cherry red lips… How is that possible for a guy to look like this?

Wait. What the hell is he thinking about? It’s not like him to think of another guy like this. That’s so embarrassing and annoying.

"Ah, fuck it!" The monk screamed, throwing the wet rag in the bucket full of water and getting up; complaining about his knee pain along the way. He needed some release and he couldn’t care less about stupid floor that needed cleaning; it’s his father’s fault for not buying a Roomba in the first place.

It’s a perfect time for popsicles.

Kuko grabbed his jacket and immediately put it on, along with the shoes he usually wore; the trip to convenience store will be pretty long, so it’s better to put on something comfortable.

However, as soon as he stepped out he heard soft cries, and when he looked to the right he saw no one other than Jyushi; his thin frame shaking more than ever. He looked so pathetic, as he hugged his knees close to his chest and buried his face in them.

"Oi… What’s goin’ on?" The leader asked, visibly confused but also a bit worried. Sure, Jyushi cried a lot; so much in fact that it became annoying after a while; but never this much, "Ya okay?"

At the sound of Kuko’s voice, the teen uncovered his face and sobbed even harder.

"K—Kuko-san! You gotta… Gotta help me! Amanda is… Amanda is in a big trouble!"

"Haaah? Why should I care? It’s just yer stupid pig plushie, she’s gonna be fine. Just leave her alone and go on with yer life, we have to practice tomorrow." The monk rolled his eyes and started going forward, before he felt a tug on the sleeve on his jacket, and he sighed loudly, stopping in his tracks, "What’s up now?"

"Please, Kuko-san…! She’s in big trouble, I’m worried! Please don’t leave me alone!"

Kuko didn’t know if there was something in the younger’s pleading gaze or weak voice, but he could feel himself giving up and deciding to help his teammate; he looked too pathetic to be rejected, and they were a family after all — they have to support each other, no matter how trivial the situation might be.

That’s why the monk sat next to Jyushi and looked at him without saying anything, a silent invitation to keep going.

"You see, Kuko-san… My cousin visited with a puppy, and I really tried so hard to protect Amanda, but he caught her, and… And… Maybe you should see for yourself…" And that’s when the taller pulled out the pig from his pocket, and god was it ruined; the eye came off and there was a bit of filling coming out. "Please, fix her… I’ll do anything you want me to!"

Anything, huh…? Well, it started to sound interesting. Maybe he can get something out of it in the end. But wouldn’t it be too cruel and too messed up to use Jyushi like this…? He’s distressed already.

"Relax, ya don’t have to do anythin’ for me." He decided in the end, getting up and reaching his hand out to the younger, furiously blushing as soon as he accepted it, "C’mon, lemme fix her."

It seems like the popsicles have to wait in the end.

"Aaaand… Done!" Kuko beamed, definitely proud of his work. Because of him and his amazing skills, Amanda looked like brand new; and her owner couldn’t get over it. How was that possible? Is he a God or something?

Jyushi smiled widely as he hugged his plushie, talking to it in the softest voice he could come up with. And maybe he was just a little cute after all.

"Thank you soooo much, Kuko-san! You really saved us both, thank you, thank you, thank you!" The taller hugged his teammate tight and giggled, the tone of his voice being so sweet and warm it filled Kuko’s heart with foreign, but good feeling.

"No big deal, it’s fine. Now if ya could go back home, that would be cool because I have things to do…" As the redhead was ranting, he felt a weird, hot and wet feeling against his cheek.

Oh, Jyushi just kissed him. And it shouldn’t feel so nice, make Kuko’s heart race so quick and his thoughts go wild but it did in the end. As soon as the other teenager withdrew from his red cheek, Kuko whined in embarrassment and stared blankly at the wall.

"Thank you once again, Kuko-san." His guest said, before getting up and leaving, "Good night~!"

It took some time for the monk to process what the hell happened just now, but when it finally clicked, he groaned and laid down on the floor, covering his still red face with hands.

Maybe he is in love after all and maybe Hitoya was right. There is something going on.
