Chapter Text
Katsuki never planned on getting pregnant. He never wished for it, never anticipated it, never dreamed of it. He refused to be tied down by society's ideal of what omegas should and shouldn't want out of life; he was already recessive—nothing like all the other pretty omegas who flaunted themselves at any given chance—so he thought he had at least stuck one up to the universe for subjecting him to this lifestyle.
Yeah. He thought .
"Pinky! Get your ass out here, right now!"
"Aw, Pinky? I haven’t heard that one in a while," Mina cooed as she waltzed into the living room of their apartment, loud music blaring from her now open door. Her skin was shining with sweat and she was breathing quite heavily. Seems like she had been dancing, as per usual; Mina had a solo showcase coming up, but after today, Katsuki might make it a memorial.
"Why the fuck am I pregnant, huh?" He seethed, rejecting her hug not only because he was pissed off, but also because he didn't want her sweaty mess of a body on him.
"You're what now?"
"Pregnant. Fucking pregnant. How could you fucking knock me up like this?" Katsuki yelled, throwing his hands up in the air before running them furiously through his already messy hair. It clearly wasn't the first time he expressed his frustration this way today.
"Well. I didn't really plan on it, you know. And your heat caught me off guard—it caught us both off guard, so when you asked me for help, I did. What the fuck else was I supposed to do? Besides, aren't you supposed to be the recessive? Why did you get pregnant?" Mina huffed, puffing out her cheeks and tapping her foot impatiently.
Katsuki growled in frustration. "I don't want this shit! The fuck do I look like carrying a demonic little shit inside of me? And I'm certainly not carrying your baby,"
"First of all: rude. Secondly, I think you'd be cute, all fat and preggers. Maybe it'd get you to sit down and chill out for once.” Mina teased, moving out of Katsuki’s way as he swatted at her half-heartedly. “Also, I know it's our baby biologically or whatever, but don't you think Izuku should have a say in this? He was your boyfriend before we all started dating, I bet he'd be devastated to know you went through and terminated the pregnancy without telling him anything,”
“That shitnerd isn’t gonna be back for another two months! It’d be too fucking late by then, jello for brains,”
“What flavor jello are we talkin’ here?” Mina completely disregarded anything Katsuki said, stroking her chin pseudo-inquisitively which caused Katsuki to yell out before chasing her around the apartment.
They never did put a final pin in the conversation, but Katsuki waited for Izuku’s return before making a final decision because Mina convinced him that there was always the possibility of Izuku coming back home early.
Except, it was Izuku they were talking about, and he didn’t end up coming back home early at all—he came back late. Very late.
“I’m going to kill you , and I’m going to kill him . I can’t believe I’m forced to have a fucking child by you of all people!”
“That was quite the oversight on my part, so I will accept any and all slander thrown my way…” Mina acquiesced, kneeling in front of a seething Katsuki whose shirt was starting to look a bit tight on him now that he was three months into his pregnancy.
Izuku was gone for nearly another full month, but he returned just as Katsuki was seriously planning on maiming him. He came home with apologies spilling out of his mouth before the door to the apartment was even opened and several suitcases full of gifts as an offering for forgiveness. Mina pouted, but she welcomed him back with a giant hug and several kisses splayed across his face. His punishment was no kissing on the lips until he felt the weight of his actions, which Izuku was confident he could deal with (spoiler alert: he could not).
On the other hand, Katsuki refused to look at Izuku or be around him upon return. He kept a large blanket around him at all times, effectively shutting Izuku out and hiding his pregnancy because Izuku “didn’t deserve to know” at this point, according to Katsuki when he and Mina were arguing in hushed tones while Izuku took a sad shower (they could hear him playing his sad music, which consisted of the OSTs they played during his favorite Top 10 Devastating All Might Moments).
Katsuki came around, though, by the start of month five, because the baby started kicking him more often and he couldn’t come up with even one reasonable excuse as to why he suddenly twitches and hunches over while holding his stomach. Izuku had some form of anxiety not known to man, because even if Katsuki had proven that he wasn’t hurt, he was just caught off guard, Izuku was already on the floor—fetal position, ironically enough—trying to dial emergency services through blurred vision. It was getting ridiculous.
“I’m fucking pregnant, Izuku, not dying. Get the fuck up,”
“FINALLY!” Mina screamed from her room, dashing into the living room, bouncing excitedly around the two. “Finally, finally, finally, finally ! You don’t know how long I’ve been fighting for my fucking life keeping this secret. Now we can all go out and do cute stuff like shopping for baby clothes and furniture!”
“Pregnant…?” Izuku's voice came out in a whisper, and from the look on his face, you’d think he saw a ghost or something. “With a baby?”
Katsuki rolled his eyes. “I sure fucking hope so?”
“Did you or did you not call it a demon a few months ago, though?”
“Shut up, Pinky,”
“Alright then, one point for me then,”
“That is not— ”
“A baby, huh?” Izuku spoke again, both Mina and Katsuki turning to look towards him as they noticed a shift in his demeanor. He went from spaced out disbelief to something a little more…feral. It was subtle, like the gentle flashing of lightning behind thick rolls of darkened clouds. Both Katsuki and Mina quirked a brow at him, both getting an idea of what kinds of thoughts are storming around Izuku’s mind.
A silence lays between them for a moment, tossing and turning, never truly resting in peace.
Mina chuckled awkwardly. “I feel like I’m in danger right now,” Mina says. And she wasn’t entirely wrong; of course, Izuku wasn’t angry, he wasn’t going to hurt either of them for keeping such a huge secret from them, he understands that it was his fault for voluntarily getting caught up with work, but Izuku can’t help his nature.
He’s a beta, true, but he’s a dominant beta whose dominant genes are a tad bit stronger than the norm. Some look at Izuku and they see a recessive alpha at best, which is impressive, because alphas feel like a different breed entirely—recessive or not.
“Serves you right, Pinky.” Katsuki huffed, but a smug look crept on his face soon after. “And you better tap into every last bit of your alpha genetics to get her pregnant, Izuku, or I’ll kick your ass,”
“Mina, come with me. Now.” Izuku growled out, barely waiting for an affirmation before hiking Mina up and over onto his shoulder and heading towards their shared bedroom.
The chances of Izuku—a dominant beta—getting Mina—a dominant alpha—pregnant are very low…
But nobody ever said they were zero.
