Work Text:
Mondstadt is currently in high spirits because of the joyous music played by numerous bards including the bard in green.
Zhongli smiled as he witnessed the sight in front of him. The civilians sing along to the tune as they dance all together around Mondstadt’s fountain. They’re all merry and carefree as if they’re completely disconnected from the reality where problems exist. Giggles can be heard here and there. Laughter filled the cold breeze mixing with the intoxicating smell of dandelions. It was loud but not a disturbing one. The former archon finds it comforting, actually.
His cor lapis eyes landed on the said bard. He saw the kids crowning him with a cecilia flower crown. They gave him a small peck on his cheek, making him giggle. He proceeds to smile gently as he pats their heads while sitting to be in the same level as them.
Shit. He’s too beautiful.
He finds himself mesmerized by the whole scene. His cheeks are slightly red as he drinks his share of wine, maintaining his refined elegance. Being in love with a friend is somewhat stupid. Nonetheless, he’s grateful for just being beside him. This is enough, he thought.
“You can’t just sit there and drink alone like a loner you are, blockhead.”
However, he can’t help but ask for more.
“What if you join me instead of fooling around, drunkard?”
He thinks that he’ll be stuck forever in this cycle of falling in love until he crumbled.
“I’m not fooling around!”
“Oh no, you do.”
“As if you’re not having fun watching people fool around.” The bard said as he rests his arm around the former archon.
Zhongli laughed. “I never thought you would get something right for once.”
In the world of change, there’s no such thing as constant other than change itself.
That as it may, why does the word “constant” exist when change is inevitable?
Zhongli doesn’t know.
All he knows is that if there's something called “constant” in his changing world…
“Quit your nagging and dance with me.”
…It would be him.
