Chapter Text

“Hey, you okay?”

A forced smile, edging on a grimace. “I’m fine.”

“What’s up?”

Fake smile, well disguised. “Nothing much, how ‘bout you?”

“You good?”

“Huh? Oh! Yeah, just tired.” Brushing past, book-laden arms carrying as much weight as the heavy shoulders.

“How was school today, kiddo?"

"Oh, it was alright, you know, same old same old. What about you?"

"Do you want to go to the movies?"

"No, I've got homework. Another time?"

"Hey kid, we're watching Monty Python. Want to join?"

"I have too much homework, I'm sorry."

"We're going to go get coffee together after school, wanna join?"

"Sorry, bu-"

"Homework. We know."

"How was the field trip today? You did have a field trip, right?"

"It was fine. Normal field trip, nothing exciting, really."

“Hey, you doing okay?”

“Yeah, I’m fine.”

“You seem a little off. You good?”

“Just tired.”

“You okay?”

“I’m fine.”

“You seem a bit… I dunno. Is anything wrong?”

“I’m fine.”

“Just wanted to check in, how are you doing?”

“I’m fine.”

“You doi-”

“I’m fine.”

“I’m fine.”

I’m fine.

I’m fine.

I’M FINE.
