Presenting aus I have in my head but will never write about properly
Treasure Hoarder au:
Thoma does not end up getting saved by the Kamisato clan. Instead, he's on the run after being sentenced for an unauthorized ship.
While on the run he meets a pretty boy who fell into his arms after falling off climbing a tree. They began to meet more and more, growing closer and more fond of each other.
But eventually, the pretty boy disappeared and no longer showed up at their meeting place.
Skip a few years and Thoma is now the boss of a faction of treasure hoarders. He still held a fondness for that pretty boy but he knew that if he saw him, he would grow disgusted.
That's when the hoarders managed to kidnap a commissioner for ransom.
The commissioner Kamisato Ayato was a menace of a prisoner, biting and being his annoying little self.
Even the usually patient treasure hoarder Thoma can't help but be unnerved at Ayato.
But even as no ransom came (Yae said..and I quote "Oh Ayato is not stuck with the treasure hoarders, they're stuck with him" to a crying Ayaka), Thoma can't help but feel...attracted to him.
Like there is something about Ayato that pulled him to him...something familiar.
That's when his base was attacked.
Ayato tries to escape in the midst of the chaos and actually finds an old portrait of Thoma with the pretty boy.....oh gods...is the world telling him that the cute blond kid he once simped for back then....is this stupid teasable and bashful bloke who can't even torture right?
Plot twist: Ayato was indeed the pretty boy who Thoma fell in love with many years ago. He disappeared because his parents died and he no longer had time for even his sister, let alone Thoma.
So now Ayato knew...he knew...oh no I have to save that man's butt.
Ayato saves Thoma and gets injured in the process.
Feeling bad, Thoma cares for him and realized....oh so this was the pretty boy I simped for.
They had a bit of a fight, of course, they had...Thoma literally kidnapped him from his loving sister.
But Ayato realized that Inazuma's system failed Thoma so now he was like this.
Ayato asks Thoma to surrender for him and that if he vouched for him and he really changes his way, he might be able to leave Inazuma.
But Thoma refuses. thinking that his redemption was long over.
As they continue to coexist with each other in a bit of strain, they started to get nostalgic and open up to each other their true feelings
But Ayato knew as long as Thoma stayed like this, he can't love him.
Eventually, with enough convincing, Thoma was going to surrender.
That hurts his fellow treasure hoarders who then decide to try to kill him.
Thoma ends up murdering them and is then charged for their murder.
By the Raiden Shogun's decree, he was sentenced to death and not even Ayato, who was claimed by the court to have Stockholms syndrome now was denied to vouch for him.
(Ayato...does not. It's not his fault Thoma was so malewifey that it hurts-)
There are two possible endings:
Angst ending:
Thoma is going to be executed but Ayato challenges the Raiden Shogun for a duel before the throne.
He wins but ends up dying of his injuries.
Now Thoma serves the Kamisato clan to not only fix Inazuma's corrupt system but to also pay back the life he forced someone to lose because of him.
Bittersweet Ending:
Ayato ends up sneaking Thoma out of jail and helping him escape.
This time, it wasn't Thoma left alone in the world. This time it was Ayato.
Thoma stays in Mondtsadt au:
Everything happens the same way but with no Thoma.
That's when Inazuma opens up again.
Curious and wanting to find his father, he decides to go to the recently opened Inazuma to not only celebrate the festival but to also find his father.
That's where he met Ayato.
First impression?.....Sus. He found him suspicious. From the way the man smiled to the way he moved, he knew he was a shady character who knew how to act when necessary to his cause.
To be honest, Thoma finds Ayato pretty intimidating. A gentle-faced beast the commissioner was.
But it's better than Ayato's first impression of Thoma. After the fall of his clan, he started to get more paranoid, especially at those who are "too nice" for his standards.
Thoma was so nice, it felt like he had an underlying motive.
They annoy each other and eventually, Thoma snaps at him.
A fighting match starts and Ayato ends up screaming something like "WELL HOW CAN YOU EXPECT ME TO DO THAT!? MY PARENTS ARE GONE AND I'M ALONE....I'm....alone...".
Ayato would then open up to Thoma who then opened up to him. Yes, he did have a motive, that was to find his missing father.
Ayato agrees to help him because if he does find him, he'll get out of Ayato's way for good.
They go on finding shenanigans and as they do, they can't help but fall in love more and more.
And eventually, they got a lead.....only for the dad to be dead...
Thoma is devastated and Ayato comforts him, knowing the pain of losing a parent.
They get along more and more until one day, Thoma has to go.
The festival is coming to a close.
The fic would end as Thoma looks into the distance, only to find fireworks setting off in the distance. He knew what it meant after weeks of spending time with Ayato.
It meant "wait for him".
