Loneliness.
A simple word, with a simple meaning.

That described exactly how she was.
She watched the tiny pebble roll through the thin dirt, receiving slight nudges from the wind. The minute pebble made its way past neighbour rocks until it finally rolled out of the cave and into the wild. Miki didn’t mind. After all, there were plenty more pebbles to watch. It seemed like that one next to the huge rock was getting into something. She looked outside and watched the sun’s rays hit softly against the green pine trees. The two colours mixed beautifully and gave her a sense of serenity.
Just for a moment, Miki felt total peace. Maybe being in solitude could be pleasant.
