Michael’s dad simply can’t seem to find Jeremy and Michael from their hiding spot.

Work Text:

“Oh dear…” Mr Mell exclaimed in an exaggerated tone as he sat on the couch. “I simply can’t find my little son and his best friend.” He said playfully

Mr Mell could hear the muffled giggles from behind the curtains, smiling widely. He couldn’t help it, Michael and Jeremy were very bad at this game.

It wasn’t as much of them being “bad” as it as is was more the two kids just couldn’t keep quiet. Other than that, their hiding spots were decent. He sighed and buried his face into his hands. “How will I ever find my son and his little friend? What was his name again?” The man joked. “Hmm.. I think it was Jackson.”

“It’s Jeremy!” Was shouted from behind the curtain, followed by a loud shush from Michael as they tried to keep quiet.

“And how old is Michael turning next week again? I think one thousand years old..”

Michael immediately ran out from under the curtain, giggling loudly as he jumped onto the couch with his dad. Jeremy followed soon behind.

“Dad! I’m going to be five!” Michael exclaimed. “You’re the one that’s a thousand years old.”

Mr Mell fake gasped and pulled the little boy into a large hug, shaking him gently. “Que malo!”

Michael burst into laughter and Jeremy climbed onto Mr Mell’s lap. “Me next! Me next!” With that, Mr Mell picked up both kids in his arms and shook them around, standing up and laughing along with them before setting them back down.

“Sorry to be the spoiler of fun, but I have to drop Jeremy back at his parents’ house.”

“Nooo..” Michael and Jeremy both protested. Mr Mell shook his head softly and sighed.

“Well then, how about we call Jeremy’s parents and ask if he can stay for dinner?”

Michael and Jeremy grinned and nodded excitedly at that idea.
