Work Text:

Upon discovering the truth about your entire existence, you felt for the first time, truly lost. What do you do when you discover you're essentially, not even real? And who's to say what real even is? For all you knew, you had felt real pain and joy. Is that not real?

Eternals had walked through this world quite literally for hundreds upon hundreds of years. Wars had begun and ended, millions have died horribly deaths and all you did was watch.

You were only a witness, simply because you thought that was the right thing to do. What the eternals were supposed to do.

As cliché as it sounds, you never felt more alive than you did whenever you were out there making a difference. Amongst the humans, helping them work towards a better future. You realised you weren't so different from them. At the end of the day, all you had, was a false sense of control over your own life.

Now, you travelled from country to country, meeting new people, giving a hand whenever you could. You finally had purpose. Every once in a few years, the yearning to see the rest of what was your family would take over you. And so, you would meet them one by one, updating each other on your lives and latest adventures. Sadly, you'd never stayed for too long.

Currently you were on a plane on your way to meet Druig, fulfilling your promise. It was ironic due to your abilities; one of your powers was of teletransportation, just by visualising a place or person you could travel there in a blink of an eye. Druig's face had always been the easiest one to picture when training, partly because he seemed to always be in your mind. Naturally, he was very smug about it too.

Your head rested gently against the window, a small smile appeared in your face as you recalled the blue-eyed man.

"For once, I would like to know what you’re thinking" He stated turning to face you.

"Read my mind then Druig" You challenged him, raising an eyebrow in defiance.

"You know I wouldn't do that" He shook his head, not even considering the idea. His eyes trapped you and your feet suddenly forgot how to move. His smile widened at that.

Fuck, that smile. That's how he got you. You were gone after that.

Seventy years.

Seventy years gone by without you seeing his face, without feeling his presence. However, that was about to change. As you walked through the forest, a sense of freedom embraced you. The breeze on your face was welcoming since you've been walking past endless trees.

A familiar trail finally comes to view. The memories unleash inside your mind, filling you with sweet pictures of you and Druig settling down, laying down at night stargazing muttering promises to each other.

You made your way to the place where you knew he spent his mornings, his safe haven. Your body came to a stop when you found him, sitting next to a tree looking as peaceful as ever. His beautiful blue eyes opened, instantly finding you. He stood up slowly, brows frowning, as his mind wondered if you were a mirage.

You walked up to him feeling the same range of emotions you felt when you first saw him at the domo, and he would always stare, waiting.

He closed his hand before touching your face, as if to contain himself. His knuckles barely touched your cheeks, but it was enough. Enough to understand that the feeling of longing was mutual.

You both smiled.

“Finally my dear Y/N returned…was startin’ to get worried” Oh. Smooth as ever. You felt your lips stretching into a grin. You looked at each other, your bodies pulling in the same direction like magnets. Next thing you know, your arms are around his neck, and his are pulling you as close as he could. “I missed you too” You sighed into his mouth.

You kissed him hard, dumping everything you were feeling into the kiss. He kissed you back just as hard, hands on the bottom of your back, keeping you completely pushed against his own body. He wanted to feel every muscle, every bone of yours against his. Druig missed you way too much and he showed just that.

The butterflies on your stomach must've been tired by now from traveling every inch of your boy, you could feel yourself losing against the battle you created. Breathless, you pulled back, leaning your forehead against his. His hands didn't waste time to lift your jacket, just enough to feel the warmth of your naked skin against the tip of his fingers. "Hi" you whispered.
Druig smiled widely at your state, smugly leaning forward once more and captured your lips. You opened your mouth in response, allowing your tongue to greet his. Your fingers gripped his nape, pulling his hair the way he liked it. He groaned at that. Druig then ended the kiss leaving you both slightly panting. He decided that leaving you flustered in the morning sun was enough for now.
