Work Text:
After a day of Interviews and Contest Spectaculars, it was time for Wallace and Artemis to return home. Cool, gray clouds had since gathered in the sky, so the duo resolved to take Artemis back to his apartment. It had been a year since he’d moved to Lilycove City permanently and he was still adjusting from the small-town atmosphere in Verdanturf. The drive was only supposed to take around half an hour, so straight away, Wallace escorted Artemis to his car and they went on their way to the large apartment complex where Artemis lived.
It wasn’t long before Artemis slowly fell asleep in the front passenger seat. Wallace assumed it was the soothing sights of the scenery of the city going by. He was sure to stay quiet, even as they went through the minor traffic problems towards the apartment complex.
It was a bit smaller than the one in Verdanturf, but it was more than passable for where he was living in the region… Wallace didn’t dare wake his boyfriend and managed to get him to his apartment with the help of Artemis’s Espeon, Aurora, as well as his Starmie. He took him out of the glowing blue Psychic force created by the two Pokemon once it was released and laid him in his bed.
“Rest well, love,” Wallace pulls the warm blankets over the other and turns towards the door.
However, Just as he was about to leave, thunder loudly rumbled and rain started to pour heavily. Wallace sighed and opted to stick around until his Artemis woke up.

A little later, Artemis felt his eyes crack open and saw Wallace relaxing in the chair near his desk.
”Sleep well, Artie?”
Wallace asked with a soft smile. Artemis looked a bit surprised, as last he remembered, Wallace was driving him home. But he just assumed that Wallace took care of everything and just let him sleep.
Artemis nodded,
“Y-yeah, Thanks for letting me sleep… I just… uh…”
He looked away sheepishly, but Wallace shook his head in response,
“Please don’t worry about it. I couldn’t bear to wake you up because you were sleeping so peacefully. So with a little help, I brought you back to your room so you could continue resting. You must have been tired.”
“Yeah…”
“In any case, I think it’s stopped raining by now, so I will be returning home. Call in if you need anything, alright?” Wallace says before looking out the window to see that the storm had since passed.
“See you.”
Artemis responded with a smile. Wallace turned to leave and let Artemis continue about his business for the rest of the day.
