"hey"
Alucard flinched as granger suddenly appeared behind him, catching him off guard.
"O-oh? Granger! What's up?" Alucard asked, still thrown off because of Granger's sudden appearance
"Come to the garden when you're done with whatever you're doing"
"Huh? Okay?" Alucard answered.
Granger then power walked out of the conversation as Alucard questioned on what Granger could possibly want from him.
It was in the evening, the sun is setting, the garden was as quiet as a graveyard, that is until Alucard heard the sound of a violin coming from the tree on the middle of the garden.
"Hello? Granger? Is that you playing the violin? Where are you?" Alucard questioned out loud below the big tree. Then Granger suddenly dropped, feet first to the ground in front of Alucard.
"Woah!!" Alucard visibly shocked from Granger's again sudden appearance.
"Hey. You're late, you've made me wait a long time"
"Well- im sorry! I came running here as fast as possible after I was done!" Alucard said in an apologetic puppy doll eyes.
Granger does see drops sweat running down on Alucard's pretty face, so he excused him.
"Well..? What is it that made you call me here?" Alucard asked Granger, who is at this point evading to give direct eye contact with him.
"I'll just get straight to the point, I love you" he suddenly blurted out.
"...hm? Huh? HUH?!" Alucard is speechless, he doesn't know how to react to all of the suddennes Granger kept throwing at him, and now Granger basically just confessed to him out of the blue.
"I fell in love with you, since long ago. More specifically, while we're growing together, training together, and do everything else together, I can't stand your over the top energy, I can't stand your pretty face and soft looking blonde hair, I can't stand it all because I love you so much"
Alucard stares at Granger as his face turned bright red.
"Oh and, sorry by the way, because I'm only saying this now because I read your diary"
Alucard's flustered tomato face then slowly turned into a horrified expression.
"You... Did what??! Why would you touch that!!? How did you even get your hands on it!?" He questioned Granger with a face fused with both the expression of now angry and embarrassed.
"Don't blame me for it, you literally left it on plain sight, in your room's work station. And it also has a very big 'warning' in front of it, saying "Alucard's diary!! Only He and a certain someone with the initial G could read it!" So I, who has the initial G in my name decided to use my right of reading it." He quickly answered
"Oh... Well, it's not my fault either! I usually kept it hidden and only took it out because I was preparing to..."
"Leave? I know, it's written there. And I also know the reason why, you're going to betray the Monastery of Light, right? Because they betrayed your father? I understand. What I want to know exactly right now is not your explanation, but instead I want to hear you answer" Granger said to Alucard as he put each of his hands on both of Alucard's shoulders.
"Answer? Oh! Uhm... I.. I love you too! Please be my boyfriend!"
"That's the answer I would like to hear. And of course, I'll be your boyfriend" Granger answered, and even though half of his face is covered by his outfit, Alucard could tell Granger is smiling, he could also tell that Granger is starting to blush as his cheeks are starting to turn red.
"So, when are you leaving?" Granger asked to change the topic, to distract Alucard from looking at his flustered face, as he realizes about it.
"Oh! Tomorrow, I've already packed most of my stuff in my backpack, and I'll leave tomorrow first thing in the morning" Alucard answered.
"You planned everything quite nicely, huh? But you're forgetting something."
"I forgot something? What is it?"
"Me. You're forgetting me. Bring me along with you"
"...huh? Wait.. Are you serious Granger!?"
"Yes, I read every page on that cute diary of yours, flipped thought the pages one by one, including pages talking about me, you don't know just how flustered I was when I read that diary for the first time. You talked about how you fell in love with me, how you kept imagining about me, and scenarios about you with me"
Alucard at this point is just purely embarrassed by Granger explaining on what he wrote on the diary.
"And to think you'd leave me alone here to explore the world in a big adventure to kill demons and find the truth about your father, I honestly can't believe it, especially with how you wrote about me in your diary, how you swore that you'll protect me, and never leave my side. on page 361.*
"Uhm... I get it! It's my mistake that I left my diary out in the open! So please stop talking about the stuff inside there! ...And about you joining me. Trust me, the idea of you accompanying me sounds fantastic, but you've got a whole life ahead of you! You could become a great demon hunter with your skill, or even become a great violin player and become rich, but instead you would rather join me? The soon to be traitor of the kingdom? I fear that you would also be branded traitor if you went with me, we'd have a rough life. Are you still sure that you'd go along with me?"
"I don't care about the consequences, I would rather be with you, especially because we only finally got to be a thing right now. Oh and I also read about the things the knights did in one of the pages on your diary, how they won't reveal the truth about your father, I don't like that kind of injustice, might as well leave the empire with you than by myself, right?" Granger replied.
"Granger...!!" Alucard called out his name as his eyes started tearing up.
"Now, now. We don't need an emotional moment right now, what we need to do is start preparing, although you've already prepared, I've done nothing to prepare myself for travelling, so you should probably help me with that, boyfriend"
Alucard froze for a second, affected by Granger's teasing, as he's still not full processing that they're now boyfriend's with the amount of information thrown at him by Granger.
"What're you waiting for? The sun has set, and there's so many things to do, I'll need to stock up on my bullets, fit whatever that I have into a backpack, and I also got to do something with you for the last time here. Well then, let's go" Granger proclaimed to Alucard.
Granger then started running out of the garden.
"Ah! Coming! Hey! Granger! Wait for me!" Alucard screamed as he started chasing Granger who's already far ahead.
It was on midnight, that the Monastery of Light's main church's big doors are opened, and then two man, a blonde haired one, and a black haired one entered the place.
The place is quiet and dark, the lights are out and there is nobody there.
"...so nostalgic" Alucard proclaimed.
"Yeah, it's been a while since I've been here. remember? you always went along with me here to watch my violin training."
"Mhm. What about it Granger?" He asked.
"There's this one song, it went on something like this." Granger said as he pulled out his violin and started playing a very beautiful song.
*Flashback*
Young Granger : "will you let me play this piece, sir?"
Mentor : "oh? Why specifically this one, Granger? Though it is not the most difficult song, but the meani-"
Young Granger : "I know, sir. "
Just then, Alucard opened the church's doors, and came running inside.
Young Alucard : "...Granger! Sorry, I was late! The younger kids wanted to try their sword skills by fighting me and I was hold back by them! I ran as fast as I can here."
Young Granger : "..it's fine, Alu. I haven't played anything yet"
Young Alucard : "oh? That's good! I really don't want to miss ----------"
Young Granger : "--------- --- ---------"
They kept chattering as Granger's mentor watched
Mentor : "ah.. kids nowadays. Finding love so easily, honestly kind of jealous, haha. Ehem! Anyways..."
Mentor : "blonde kid, please sit over there, Granger will need to start his practice now, since I have other kids to mentor later. Go on Granger, play the piece you said you'll play, I'll help you and teach on what you did wrong along the way."
Young Granger : "...!! Alright sir"
Young Alucard : "sure mister!"
*Flashback ends*
Granger just finished playing the piece he played the first time while training with his mentor.
"Oh..? I think I remembered this one! You did a lot of mistakes back then, but it still sounds beautiful! Oh, and of course it sounds perfect the way you play it now."
"Thanks. By the way, do you know what the song means?" Granger asked Alucard.
"The...meaning? Sorry, I don't really look into songs much, and I barely even listen to them in the first place, I usually only listen to what you play with your violin." He answered.
"Well, at that time, I was browsing through my mentor's song catalog, it has an explanation and description for each and every one of them. While going through it, I found this one."
"So... What is it about?" Alucard asked.
"...one sided love. I never hoped for anything out of my love for you, there's a lot of people that had feelings for you, and to imagine that out of everyone, you'd pick me? That's just purely unrealistic. so at the time, I just picked that song. I never expected that we'd be together like this, Alu."
Alucard started blushing HARD after hearing Granger's explanation.
"I- you.. you had a crush on me since then!? Isn't the first time you learned the violin and played that song for me... like, when we're seven?!"
"And I believe I fell in love with you even sooner than that, though I was too young to understand."
"'WE', Granger. I think it was around then where I actually started liking you too."
It was 4:00 in the morning, Alucard is still dreaming about he who shall not be named, but then came a barrage of knocks coming from the door.
"Ngh..? Who is-"
Alucard answered, though his eyes are still closed.
"Hey, Alucard, wake up" Granger can be heard from the door quiet easily, even when he was talking softly, because he does not want to wake up the neighboring rooms owner, alucard could definitely still hear him though, because he sleeps at the couch near the wall connecting to the hallway.
He slept there for one, and one reason only, because he doesn't want to sleep in and wake up late. That usually happened because his bed is too comfortable, this is also why he's usually late to early missions. But even then, it looks like four in the morning is still too early for the blonde demon hunter, even while sleeping on the rough and uncomfortable couch.
"Alucard, hey, you need to wake up, we gotta go.
...babe"
The moment Granger called him that, his eyes spring wide open. Huh? Did you just call me..?"
"Yes, yes I did, now wake your sleepy ass up and open this door, we've gotta get going."
Alucard came out of the his room, onto the hallway. He then saw Granger fully dressed up in his outfit.
"You look cute as always, babe" Alucard's attempted to tease Granger. Surprisingly, it kinda worked, as Granger's face turned red by a slight bit.
"...let's just go" Granger evaded the situation.
As they're walking through the long and quiet hallway full of doors, Granger started to ask Alucard about some questions he couldn't ask him the day before.
"So.. you really think that your father's still alive?" Granger asked.
"Yes, he's very skilled and I just know that he's alive, somewhere out there." Alucard answered swiftly.
"Okay... Once we're out of this building, we gotta quickly run to the gate, we're lucky that the dorms are very close to the main gate of the kingdom" Alucard said to Granger.
"Yeah. Here we go, three, two, and... Go!" Granger and Alucard then proceeds to run as fast as they can on the empty and quiet streets of the kingdom.
"There! The gate! If I'm not wrong... Then!-"
"Hey, you guys!" A certain Leonin spoke out from the gate's guardmen's post.
"Huh? Harith? What are you doing here?" Granger asked.
"Well, a certain acquaintance of mine asked for help, and so, here am i! Oh and I was very surprised that you'd join him too Granger!"
"Yeah, about that. I asked him for help, since he's got authority, he could just fill in a part of the guardmen schedule to help us open the gate so that we'd escape a little easier." Alucard explained to Granger.
"Yeah! By the way, you owe me for this Alucard! They are suspicious of me just suddenly taking a part in being a guardman! Oh, and my shift is almost over, so quickly! Go through the gate! I opened it for you." Harith said to them.
"Well then, thanks for you help harith, need any help? Just contact me in some kind of way and I'll try helping you" alucard proclaimed to Harith.
"Thanks Harith" Granger quietly thanks Harith.
"It's fine guys! Oh and good luck! You'll need it to stay alive outside with just the two of you anyways. Goodbye!"
Then the both of them started walking, past the gate, and just like that, they're now out of that place.
"Goodbye, Monastery of light. and goodbye, home." Alucard spoke in respect of the place he before called home. They then started walking, they don't know where. But what they know, is that this is a start of something new.
