Chapter Text
Constantly the unusual spirit, You have found yourself travelling the sea training as an archer, among a vibrant crew that has taken you on their ship. You are a normal sailor. Sadly, not yet the pirate you dream to become.
A normal person, riding a ship, working with your crew. The crew enjoys your input, and you help out with your lovely opinions and make stern decisions to keep your found family safe and joyful.
Actually, you kinda feel like you sit around more often than participating in sales or loading up the ship.
The government had no real interest in your expedition, sales to the islands you docked at, or knowledge. You were not a large threat to the government as a legitimate business with a merchant ship.
The crew of 6 was happily visiting nearby towns and gaining rapport with locals, always returning to and from your hometown to others within the vicinity. No big adventure crossing seas. Just normal merchant sailors dealing in deals.
The crew didn't have much interest in dangerous goals such as the one piece or fighting the government, just a group of sailors visiting towns rather than anything harmful, which is all your Captain had told you and what your parents needed to convince them to let you go aboard.
You left as a early preteen and returned home around every 8 months.
Now you are 17. As the ship was sailing in the waters off the coast of your home island, The crew decided to go for a visit as they needed to drop anchor soon for supplies.
You stood in the cabin beside your bed. You stare down at a broken bow. Your lucky your father loved your or he might be furious that his creation was in pieces. Hopefully he made a new one for your upcoming birthday that would fit to your size better.
You placed the bow in your wardrobe, kissed your hand and brought it to the larger piece.
"Thanks dad"
You slipped your shoes over your heel, picked up your sword by the scabbard and taking your arrows with you, and walked out of the cabin and onto the main deck. The cool air coming over the boat grazed your skin, no amount of months onboard could diminish how much you loved that feeling.
On the edge of the ship, Cade and Blaire were canoodling. You happily wave and run up to your friends.
Cade pulls his hand from Blaires and waved at you, "good morning!"
"Good morning! How are you, Mr. and Mrs. doing?" You teased causing Blaire to get flustered and dramatically cover her face, teasing knowing that the couple were still fiancé's and not yet quite married.
Blaire flicked her finger against your shoulder, "We are doing fine. You little rascal." Cade wraps an arm around his partner and Blaire wags a nagging finger to you, "You are going to help Cade lift up supplies on the next dock right?"
"Of course!"
"Good! No sneaking of this time! Darren forgets, so with you it is better. Much appreciated."
Blaire was your crew's doctor on board. Her fiancé came as an extra and help with loading and selling goods.
Blaire has a dark brown complexion, typically you found her with her nose in a book or her nose up against her fiancé's, She kept her coiling hair up with a burgundy maroon ribbon.
Blaire was born in the North Blue. She was 21 when you joined the crew, now she's 26. Cade, in comparison, is quite pale in the tone of his beige skin. His short straight black hair is parted neatly in the middle. He comes from the South blue. He's a year older than his partner, but he is shorter than her.
You turn your head to heavy footed walking. Darren Hayward and his loud elephant feet were walking up to you.
Darren waved his map, "we are almost back home! Y/n, are you excited?"
"Obviously! How close?" You exclaimed, gasping in excitement.
The Crew rejoiced in recalling how you joined them and how lovely feasts your neighbors had made as a gift to you before you left.
Darren squatted down to your height and patted you on the head like a dog, mocking your height was his favorite joke. "Very very close. Be there in less than a hour"
Darren is several feet taller than the majority of the crew. They are 35. They are a navigator.
"Well that's good to hear" Your Captain beamed, walking down the ship with Xavier Jamison, another crewman.
Xavier was closer to your age when you joined as a kid. You formed a closer relationship with them because of that within your found family. They were 18, now 23 years old. Xavier helped market the stock of the ship and cooked food the most often out of everyone. They are the shipwright and chef.
Xavier pushed a plate of sandwiches onto your hands with glee and a pat of your shoulder.
"Good morning Xavier. Good morning Captain." You welcomed them with a smile.
The Captains appearance was slightly gruff. They have a dark complexion and were standing at 5'8 feet tall with long dark brown wavy hair that curled by the ends. It landed by their hips when it would be let out of a tight bun they kept hidden by a white pirate hat with a dark green ribbon tied to it. They were dressed in a simple white shirt with high waisted dark green pants covered with a green/black cloak. They are 43 years old.
Your captains name is Grece Green
Captain Grece chuckled, "I'm glad it's I nice out today. Home is waiting. Let's get to it!"
The crew scrambled to pull the sails and lead the ship to the shore.
When landing on the shore, a cold shiver runs down your spine.
You thought it was odd considering the warm nature of the island as you connect your feet with the sand of the beach.
Your crew dances on the friendly shore and run directly to town screaming you name to encourage you to step off the beach and your family come out to join them in festivities.
You wait by the ship, confused as to why you were not happy to be back, digging your feet deeper into the sand till it covered the shoes you were wearing completely.
You had a good childhood. A mom that loved you. A love with little words necessary but all the support she could ever give.
She is kind and would take you sailing to get fish. You had a doting father that despite all his exterior image to the tale and terror of poor visiting sailors trying to approach what appears as a stern cold man, thought the world of you and boasted to the town how strong you were using his creations.
Your father was the expressive one of the couple and your mother had less obvious ways of being affectionate and supportive. That still, it would be your dad giving you the lecture when you messed up while your mom stood back until he was done, she would be giving you a big hug and kiss, to walk up to laugh about what happened.
Though, you would get picked on for your adventurous and stubborn demeanor by adults and for your lacking of social abilities by your peers in your youth, you made friends.
Your parents always encouraged you in your pursuits as a child, but it was a surprise when you started asking for weapons and talking about pirates.
After a traumatic event caused by your grandmother, Your parents eventually encouraged you in your pursuits, your desire to be a pirate, and showed their love for you clear as day always.
Your father was a craftsman and a photographer. Your grandmother, your fathers mother, was a retired marine. Your mom does various jobs, many of cultural significance on the island.
You would help more with your mother fishing on the boat, holding your baby sibling up as they learned aswell, and wandering around town admiring the festivities and daydreaming of adventure.
These flooding good memories made it all the more difficult to discern why you had to hesitate on the shore. While lost in thought- staring as your crew are lost to view beyond the horizon and lush forest on the island, a cold hand on your right shoulder brings you back into reality. You look to see your beloved captain using your shoulder to balance themselves as they hop off the ship.
You smile and speak softly after returning to your mind space,
"If you needed help down you could have said so."
"Oh.. really?"
"Yes! Plus you should watch your stitches."
"The last fight did not hurt me that badly..."
"You broke your hand! Poor Blaire was rushing around with her medic bag! Plus the going around the ship trying to get you to ease up on that wrist and let her care for it"
"Ah. And I am truely blessed to have such a crew thats...so concerned.. for my health after *ahem* they run into danger first..."
And you did cause the fight...but that did not make being jokingly called out for it by your wounded captain any nicer on your still aching body...or soul.
You tried to look a bit stern at your captain but found it hard as your face turned to a low smirk.
"Hey kid, I'm fine. Get out of your funk. We got to see what pie your mom get out tonight for dinner!"
Your captain has always been a jokester. They made life on the crew fun. Poking fun at the past brought a smile to your face. The light conversation immediately calmed your nerves.
The captain was plenty aware of their surroundings. They used their observant mind and intelligence behind their playful attitude, skillfully navigating social situations that you had trouble with.
They had noticed your dissociation, and knew how to play it off and get you calmly out of that state.
You glance back to the direction that would lead to town. Your captain dusts themselves off and proclaims "So.. Do you think your mom will make more of that pie? You know the one with red berries that -"
"She..gave me the recipe for that! hold on.. I've made that for you multiple times!"
"It's good pie! Don't judge me!"
"Oh no!!" You feign surprise with a sarcastic tone, "I already do!"
You give a scoffing chuckle.
You felt comfortable with your boss by your side as all your fellow crew do. They hid their feelings behind laughing and their plans through small gestures. So they knew exactly what to say to motivate you when you get down. The company in comrades made life on the ship easier and transitioning from town life to pirate life.
Suddenly you get movement in your feet and they lift out of their sandy tomb. You start walking on the dirt road with your captain slowly trying to follow behind you.
When you reach to the point where the view of town comes in just behind some trees with a large clearing and long path to follow, you hear your crew joyfully singing in the fields, skipping and jogging their way in. They sound wholeheartedly excited, telling jokes and laughing for almost the entire island to hear if it wasn't muffled by the forest.
Your captain speaks up again, "are you doing okay?"
"Yeah- yeah! I'm fine!
"Uh huh-"
"I appreciate it. Really."
"Well, I'm glad.", they clap their hands together and a quick rub "what's the plan then. See your parents first? Stay a day and then dip? Or stay longer?"
"I think I might go to my friends Lucy's Dads place, Aunties for a drink. Sandra might let me have a cookie. I really want one of her cookies... Oh shoot- or should I ask my dad for a new bow??- Could i have my dad craft my bow first or- something new- ah! You should go ask my mom for some pie while I am gone and I can join her in baking when i get back."
"Sounds good. I get first access to the glorious pie then!"
"Oh! And I could also pick up supplies for the ship! That might be a while.. so-"
"Y/n..? Isn't that Darrens job..Or Cade?...."
"You think I can trust Darren to get something for me? He would get too distracted by muscly men. Impossible." You begin to ramble on about tasks to complete. Your nerves return and you begin to overthink. Words start pouring out even though less information would be more concise.
"What about-." They intervened, trying to prevent the anxious spiral you were already on.
"I think I'm low on some things too.. i could stop at the store for some-"
"Y/n.. I'm thinking that We have ourselves a week and a few spare days here before we should get up and leave. You have plenty of time for everyone and everything. I assure you. You have multiple plans? That's fine. Let's stay multiple days. You got this kiddo. Take a breath."
As they pat you on the head, you find the words you have been looking for to explain your unease.
"I have a bad feeling..."
"Over? What?" Your Captain inquiries.
"Normally kids are running in and out of the forests screaming their tiny heads off...and adults are waving our banners by the shores celebrating something...anything? ...like catching a new load of fish or a baby being born...farmers markets with snacks for the docking sailors.. We only pack up like this for inclement weather....we don't even pack up for pirates since our island is so- welcoming.."
you feel a large relief at finally getting that off your chest and knowing what was making you uneasy.
"Maybe it's a busy day for them?"
"I don't know...it's like..small things outsiders wouldn't notice. You haven't lived here like i have.. and you haven't seen it in months- I haven't seen it in months... but- it's not right.."
"You just can't trust it...yeah?"
"Yes..that's exactly it"
"Alright. Good Job." They softly place their hand on your head, "Then we should ask around to see what is up alright?"
You get to the end of the forest and look into the clearing where they put your hometown. You take a deep breath.
The captain gives you a good squeeze of a hug and a soft pat on the head.
"Let's go get that pie", Grece said in a soft and pleased tone that discarded your current worries.
Along the path. A blur of a boy wearing a Strawhat speeds by, slingshotting themselves using trees by the clearing around the path to regulate speed.
A girl with orange hair stomps after him. A man with 3 swords calmly strolls by, yet as they move they stop on the single straightforward path to make a nonexistent turn before the people behind him or the girl yell at him to correct his direction.
You and your Captain were confused at first and now silently eyeing eachother in wonder. In your silent glares, you agree.
"that's odd"
You look down the side path they were coming from, a person with a red cloak and a group of others followed slowly behind chatting amongst themselves.
A tall gentleman with blue hair that doesn't wear pants, a tall woman with dark hair, and an adorable raccoon dog pet that walked beside them-
- an odd group. And oddly friendly. Looking up and pausing their conversation the group following the caped man waves ahead to you and Grece.
The figure with bright red cape that bellowed in the wind as he walked which was covering his stylish overalls- comes up from the separate path, (separate from the one that you were following to town) and walks up to you and the captain.
You whistle, "Hey! Sorry to bother! Do you know why there is no one at the shore?"
"No idea." The woman with dark hair behind them spoke up, looking up from her papers she held and was sifting through to see the confused woe that you had on your face,"Is that a shocking thing here?"
"Oh. Well- it is just odd.. so.. Did you folks move here recently?" You asked meekly.
The large man with blue hair, standing beside the beautiful lady, responded, "No, We docked and came for food for our journey"
raccoon dog spoke up, hiding behind the tall man- though what they were doing wasn't actually hiding them at all. "Oh i hope there cotton candy around!"
The group continues walking but the man in overalls stops by you.
He pauses in front of you and starts asking for directions, "Would you happen to know where we can find a meat or shop close by?"
You reply, "Yes! On the east side of town there's a different entrance not too far away! A bit further down the road should lead to the mill! The owner sells meat in a room on the side! so just knock. He might have brought his stock into town soon though."
"Thank you very much" the caped man in overalls politely smiles for your assistance.
"Oh no problem!" You mumbled back.
Before rejoining his group he points at the empty quiver with you. "Are you an archer? You use a bow?", he asked hesitantly considering you were actually without a bow.
"Yes actually! Came home today, looking for a new bow soon. What- do you use one as-well?"
The guy in overalls grins and jumps up, "I use a slingshot!"
"thats so exciting! I bet you must be really clever!" You say with glee.
"Well thanks! Cool. We are both snipers!"
"I wouldn't exactly call-"
"Alright. Well-" he looks to his friends getting a bit up the road and pausing to look back at him, "I should be going, I hope we meet again!"
Your captain taps your shoulder, "(Y/n) we need to find Darren before he causes a ruckus and makes your mom absolutely miserable"
"Okay Grece!" You say, "Fucking damn it, Darren. Alright. let's hurry" You nod.
Your think of a subtle a curse within you against Darren. He better not get that pie before you do.
"If you are staying in town, call around for me if you need any more help alright? I'm good at uh-", you can't help but stare at the mans face, his long nose was captivating. "Uh- problem solving."
"What's your name? To ask for you then?" He says.
"(Y/n)" you proclaim. "And yours?"
"Nice to meet you, My name is Usopp. if remember it you can boast about me. I'll be a well known warrior of the sea soon." He winks and stand confidently. "You will see."
Captain Grece gave a loud "ahem" drawing your attention back to the mission at hand.
You turn to the caped stranger, "hope you get where you need alright! Have a lovely day!"
"You too!" They continued walking the path as directed as they waved back at you and then yelling for the few ahead of them.
a shiny yellow mask bouncing around in the caped strangers collection of goods glints in the sunlight and it catches your pirate eyes. How pretty.
Grece raised an eyebrow, "what are you staring at?"
"Huh? Well they have a..whatchamacallit...its a-"
"Don't be staring at peoples ass (Y/n). Sheesh" they teased.
You weren't! You would never!
You were not a perverted person! Words caught in your throat as you tried desperately to retaliate from the accusation and tell your captain what you saw.
"Wha- no- I- uh- it's not- in their bag! it- he had- there was a mask- with a-" You explain, panicked about your perception.
Your captain laughed, "hurry up. The crews almost there already!"
You clamor to pick up speed on your way, "I wasn't looking at his ass! He had something in his bag! I'm not a perv!"
With the strangers moving on and places to be, You carry on the long clearings path to travel into your hometown.
————————————————————

————————————————————
————————————————————
You continue walking down the path within the clearing, leaving the forest and sandy beach you haven't seen in years behind you, as the captain brings to skip along and tell stories.
Your Captain takes a moment in your passing conversation to joke "At least now I can tell your family about all the times you've gone and-"
Your captain puts their hand out stopping you from going further.
You wait for them to finish some embarrassing story before realizing they were listening for something.
You quickly notice that you don't hear the crew laughing and singing anymore. "It's...too silent. I would always hear the vendors and auntie Sandra screaming at customers even from this far.. where's the crew?"
Your captain lowers their arm back to their side, "Weird.. They would be screaming their heads off if they found your mom already out and about in town..."
"Right.. and my parents live a few miles from the center of town here.. I doubt they would be this close to the entrance...with my parents.. in silence.."
"..Stay here". Your captain sharply orders.
They start running ahead of you.
You slowly continue walking along, defying the words of your boss to stay behind.
You don't have your captains level of agility to keep up with their pace. You make your way down the path trying to keep up with your leader. They rush down the trail and over a low hill leading into town.
You observe your Captain stop to talk to the crew at the entrance gate. They allowed your captain to come into the crowd and the rest of the crew shifted back around the entrance area.
When you finally catch up and make it to town you are blocked by your crew watching something in complete silence. You hear the rustling of the forest and birds chirping over the crews footsteps moving slowing forward.
Your friend Xavier moves completely in front of you.
"Stay here. You had a bad feeling about this earlier"
They peer above others heads and look into the center and see something that causes their eyes to go wide and brings a pale color to their face.
"and Captain thinks you were right.."
Above in the crowd, The captain taps their crewmen on the shoulder and is let pass up to the front of the crowd.
You stay behind, asking your fellow crew members if they see what is happening in front of the crowd.
"Cade? Cade do you see anything?"
Your crewmate Cade and his girlfriend Blaire turn to you and shake their head.
Cade looks sadly at the ground. Blaire speaks up as she put a hand on Cades shoulder and looks above the crowd for a view, "I'm sorry dear, I don't know"
You feel someone brush your back as they come forward. You try to move into the crowd for space but your crew pressures you to stay at the back. You desperately move around, even balancing on your toes and looking over heads to see better with no luck.
You are pressed into a silent crowd, confined in both body and mind. The person behind you continued to press into you, pushing you onto your crew mates.
Cade and Blaire move to avoid the crowds pressure and you get pressed into your friend Xavier Jamison and Darren Hayward.
Your mind raced with panic at knowing your captain was once again putting their life on the line. for you? Over your intuition? Was that to be trusted? You wouldn't know if that's reliable enough for someone to risk themselves over. What if you were wrong and it was just "National stay inside day" that they implemented when you were away? It would be safe and you were completely wrong for nothing? But this blockage from your crew standing around doesn't indicate a passive interaction. Was it right? Was it wrong?
You continue to ask your crew for conclusive information on why the crew was stopped at the entrance into town.
Cade and Xavier looked at you with solemn eyes. Without a word given, your stomach sinks and your heart begins to ache with worry.
Suddenly you hear cheering, but not of the voices of crewmen you recognize, along with the sudden gasp, no- an awful cough, one that ripped across every bit of one's throat, that sounded like it was from Grece— your Captain.
You push your crewmen back to get to the front, the pressure that they kept up to have a wall keeping you back melted away, the person behind you remaining, and you stand at the front with others seeing your captain brought to their knees near a lone standing figure and a separate group on the other side of the town square.
"CAPTAIN!" You screech.
Your boss snaps their head to you with the angriest glare they have ever given. You didn't think that look was just for not staying behind the crowd. What was going on? Your mind races with aweful theories filling you with panic.
The glare made you feel uncomfortable.
The people that stand beyond them are grinning eager for whatever their leader decided.
You stand back at the front of the crowd, not wanting to make your captain even more upset or make the situation worse before you even know what's happening.
Your Captain looks to their right as a figure leans above them chatting with a crew on the other end of the area. "All I said was a simple hello.. and you asked about where they were and I answered that (Y/N) isn't around. I just need to get through-"
The looming figure above them snaps their head to your Captain. "They left with you! You are just as bad as they are. Aweful people stick together! You lot. You pirates! Get out of here!"
You? Aweful? A pirate? Since when did we not accept pirates here? Why were they calling your captain a pirate? They are a sailor captain not a pirate captain. Easy mistake considering the large black flag your ship has-
You would love to be a pirate but..
But Grece promised your parents-
Plus- what was this!? No more pirates? No more "welcoming island"? It doesn't sound like the same place you left a few months ago.
You wanted to step forward to confront these words against you but 2 of your crew, Xavier and Cade, put their hands on your shoulders, tapping them once, then moving your back behind them. They both give you a quiet shushing motion as they stand in front of you. You hold onto their shoulders to peer over them, giving in to their silent warnings and let go of that impulsive intention to step forward to confront them. You comply with your crew and stay hidden and observe.
Your captain, sitting on their heels, turn a fist into the ground. "Fine."
They push down with their fist and use the force to get enough momentum to stand.
"I'm sorry, truely, but I must not have been clear."
They cracked their knee as they stepped to be face to face with the opposing foe.
"I am in a hurry. Kindly, Let us, my crew into town."
"Piss off with that! You pirates have been nothing but disgusting lowlifes! Get out. If I see (y/n) is back with you I'll beat you all down! You fuckers are not allowed. The Green band pirates are forbidden."
Your captain shakes dirt of their pants, "That can't be. Since when were pirates banned? Why can't (y/n) come home. Last time, you townsfolk were balling and crying as you waved her off! Crying that 'she's grown so much' and 'almost a big strong woman now!' What happened?"
"Last time a bunch of fucking idiots let you get away with wrecking our town. You are not welcome. Take your crew and go. We have seen all the newspapers. Leave! Or there will be-"
"I don't need to be threatened."
Your captain raises their hands, bending their elbows and putting their hands on their hat, fixing it and holding it in place. "We can go once we-"
You feel a strong push from figures behind you and you fall between the two people that had been keeping you hidden behind them. You fall out of the crowds front line and into the township. You catch your self from falling by your forearms as you hit the dirt.
Cade squats down to get you up from the dirt but-
The crew behind the opposing leader gasped.
"Y/n?!?"
The mob in the back of the town center began shouting.
"They are back!"
"Get them out of here!"
Who are they?!
The leader gasped at the sight of you, "Well! It's the town hero! Their favorite little PUNK! Indeed, Captain- they grew up too."
With a hearty laughter and mocking snarl, the mob stepped closer to your captain and crew. "You fucking lied. Baby bird is here afterall!" The leader gives a grimace at your captain and punchs them in their forehead, pushing into them to knock them off balance.
Your Captain holds their balance and wipes their face before letting slip a worried eyebrow drop in your direction. "Shit-" they mumbled into the air, "(Y/n), come on..seriously.."
"Don't start. Go back. This isn't the hill to die on. You- " They raise their head and take the glare they gave to you and put it towards the vocal bully, "You- will regret it! I'll let you know now I can't hold them back if they choose to obliterate you- before the night is done." They stumble over themselves somehow managing to remain balanced.
The enemy ignores your Captains warnings completely presuming that the captain was too weak to be a threat, "(Y/N)! You have the absolute gall to come back. Of course you do. Hello! Hey baby bird! It's me! It is Geo. Remember me?" They begin walking towards you in a smug stride, hands on their hips, in a joyful soft tone. "Hey-ya!"
You stared at the person walking to you. You glare relentlessly in building rage as you side step towards your Captain, making way into the void between the crowd. Into the center of conflict.
"Hey, I asked you something. Don't you remember? Or do you have mush for brains in that cavern of a head?" the person grits their teeth and lowers their voice as they grew closer, no longer loud for the mob being them, but speaking directly to you.
Not only was this person beating on your captain but mocking..you?
"What do you have against my captain? We have supplies to buy and sell. Not here to fight our home island. Let us through. Now!" You pound your fist onto your hip, making the sword below shake in its sheath and it bounces a tap off of your leg, the best warning towards the person initialing the fight.
"I don't have shit against your captain. I have shit against YOU. I know why you are back. You certainly could have just stayed the fuck out." The figure slicks their curly hair back tucking it by their ear and into a new loose bun.
The give a comical sigh. "I'm sure..They would have been going to celebrate your arrival but they got a bit-" They bellowed in their strut while swinging the holstered gun at their hip. "Busy"
You feel your heart sting in misery.
why did they say it like that?
"The fuck are you talking about?! You didn't hurt people here did you? if you did you bastard!"
"Oh! Don't think lowly of me. Lucy wouldn't forgive your language now would she? Don't disappoint your friends now. This is my hometown! I love the people here! so dear to me!"
You voice began to shake, the tone of the situation was not what you had expected to come home to after these past months away. "You did something! No one was out by the docks shopping and hanging new decor by the shore."
"Ah you did think they would be celebrating your return. I knew you had an ego. All pirates do."
"What?" You muttered. "We aren't pirates idiot! We are sailors-"
Who was this? The sudden shock of being vocally battered like this has you in a standstill.
They quickly backed to their previous monologue "But don't take that celebration affection to heart" they stared with a cold grimace
"they celebrate everything! Don't they? All except the things that- really matter. Undeserving. Useless. Pathetic. Things- get all the attention"
They had quickly changed their tone once they saw you. The grin on their face didn't reassure you either that this could be rectified with anymore conversation. The change in the air was suddenly dry and heavy. It weighed down on your shoulders as they approached. The threatening presence emanating from the person who displays a upbeat voice standing before you has you filled with despair.
You, knowing that this will only lead one way, draw your sword. It had been crafted by your proud father and designed with your families history in mind and culture at its core (at your mothers request). Your father only made the one sword, he didn't want to be a famous man or something above his own ego. He also wasn't one with much interest in weaponry, but as his kid grew up with that sort of fascination and goal of being a pirate. He couldn't let you walk away with out protection and a memento. His teenage kid was fierce and full of grit. Holding it would always remind you, you fought for family - and you would fight hard.
The crowd that you have spent years with quickly join in with their show of weapons. Awaiting an order from their captain. Awaiting you to save the day.
Soon the leader was 6 feet feet away, mumbling boasts of their power to their crew and your concerned friends.
You stand by your captain, unable to move away from the figure following behind you or the leader in front of you.
You stomp your heel into the ground. Dragging it across the dirt and swinging it across the dust cloud it made. Either by martial arts or swordsmanship- you were prepared to do what you could, but that doesn't mean you had the confidence to do it.
"Y/N" they would seem warm and inviting if not for the lifted eyebrow and sinister cheeky grin on the persons face as they extended a hand out to you. It was sickening, the lack of sweetness in their deposition, how they spoke softly yet full of poisonous bitter thoughts. Acting innocent, manipulating the situation, while looking like the evil within them was on full display. The disparity between them smiling while displaying their aggressive body language made you feel terrified.
Was no one behind them seeing how they were acting? How come- it seemed to only get you, unnerved?
You slam the palm of your foot into their face, forcing them backwards.
A loud snap ringed into your ear as they turned their face and their fall on their ass proves that you were a force to be reckoned with. You were not holding back no matter how sickened you were by their demeanor, nor by how you felt about your fighting abilities.
The person feels up their now busted lip and swiftly get off the ground. "Maybe you do remember me...
"I fucking said I don't. I've lived here for years. I think I would remember a bitch." You say pulling at your sword.
"maybe you don't, of course. Pirates are forgetful but vengeful bastards"
Your captain stands
as their knees crack and buckle standing face to face with the person in front of them with a painful grunt while holding their wrist wound from their previous fight. it must have gotten hurt while getting knocked around.
"We are but simple sailors. But you have certainly won yourself a fight." They said before lunging at the mob leader, throwing a punch to the enemies chest.
You nodded at your captain. Pleased in their remark.
You smirked
« It's go time. » the crowds on both ends of the plaza shout.
The leader kicked your boss in the gut, slamming them into the ground.
"I don't care to know exactly who you are. You have wrecked our town enough with your pathetic lives and tall tales. It's time people like you leave. Pirates aren't welcome"
You make an attack at the boastful leader, swinging your sword at them with any force you could muster.
but it gets stopped by the leaders own sword. They make a guttural laugh while the swords press against the others blade.
"Don, Grab them."
Suddenly the figure that had gotten behind you in the crowd grabbed your arms and was pushing you forward to the mob leader. They grip your wrists tightly and drop your sword on the ground. "I got them Geo! I did!"
The mob leader squealed in delight as the weapon hit the dirt, "ah haha ha!! it's about time! Let's get the ACTUAL party started!"
"Lay off!" You swing your legs to hit the crease behind their knees to try and trip them, but they remain still with a firm grip on your arms. It felt like cold handcuffs around your wrists. "Shit! Damn! You are strong!"
Don had dropped his guard and let go of your right arm to scratch his neck in his shyness, "oh thanks. At least you think so.."
"DON! You DUMBASS! BRING THEM!"
"Oh okay Geo!"
Don grabbed your arm back and continued moving you forward and away from the crowd
You spin your legs in circle, fanning the air, twisting your body, turning away from the person named Geo and to face Don that holds you captive.
Unfortunately, now you had your arms restrained and crossed. The pressure on your wrists was pinching.
This situation was getting under your skin and you were close to losing your temper. Still, you persisted with level-headed ideas in trying to push off the person restraining you.
You bounce your feet of the ground and slam your feet into Dons chest. They release your wrists.
You go to run directly after Geo. You could only think of getting the opportunity of burying your heel into their skull for ruining your first time back home, for hurting your Captain, and putting your friends and crew in danger.
Don catches your shoulder as you lift your knee as you stand a mere foot away from Geo. Your heel kick comes close enough to graze off them.
Its was not enough to knock them off balance or hurt them.
You didn't make it. You felt pitiful and disappointed in your failure. You couldn't fight and you had been caught.
They push you to to ground before you release your next kick into Geo. Don returns to restraining your wrists and forces you to stay sitting on the ground.
A piece of paper flies out of Geos back pocket and lands below you. You see the bounty poster. It had a image of a younger Captain with the name 'Grece "Green" of the Green Band Pirates' with a bounty of 98,000 berries. You become enraged. What was this? A shitty fake bounty that they had made to get your captain arrested? It must have been. It couldn't be real.
Your Captain grits their teeth, "Are you this pathetic? Release them!"
Geo chuckled, Their ego satiated with your failure to land a hit, turns to your Captain.
"I am pathetic? Tell that to the actual pathetic one! Try telling that to the weakest link!" Geo spits out sternly glaring between you and the captain.
"I'll let you decide if it's them.." Geo stares you down. "your pirate teammate that couldn't be fast enough to hit me!"
They walk to your captain and press their gun on their chest. "Or...you", they exclaim with a smile and fire the gun into their chest.
Your captain falls to their knees. They clutch their chest. Under their hand, red stains their shirts fabric.
A group of 4 breaks from your crews crowd and rushes towards the Captain.
Geo shoots the group of 4 crewmen from your ship, within their legs, twisting muscles and the sound of shattering bones travel to your ears.
You witness your Captain and comrades fall in the dirt.
"CAPTAIN!" Cade and Blaire cry out, "XAVIER! NO!"
Darren stood frozen holding his weapon before too joining their crys, "CAPTIAN!?"
"All this over a weakling. Now that's pathetic."
They put one knee to the ground and they kneel by you where you are forced to sit by Don's pressure. "Wait till Lucy comes by, She will love this!" The bounty by you tilts over by the wind and you look at it in horror.
You begin to question if your captain had lied about not being a pirate. Why? You always told them you dreamed of being one since you were a kid? Pirates were common visitors, no- even citizens on the island aswell. What was the reason? Was Geo lying? Or was your captain.
"Try not to make this about yourself. You don't really deserve to be celebrated. Here. Or Anywhere!" He looks at your face with disgust like he remembered it. But you were glad that if you did know each other, you could recall where this guy came from.
"You don't even deserved to be remembered. A burden to this town. No, not a hero. Not at all. A dumb.. Fucking...pirate." he cleared his throat and spit the remnants on the ground by his own feet. They fire again at the crowd of four laying in the dirt, missing hitting only the blood pool mixing into mud under them.
You look back to your crew, counting your men. You see Cade holding Blaire, whispering to her that if she tries to nurse them she would get hurt. You see Darren on his knees in shock, dissociating out of the situation. You don't see Xavier among your crews shocked faces. You know if you look back at the bodies, based on your crews continuing screams, Xavier will be one of the four shot trying to rush in, and that he wasn't getting up. You snap your view to your Captain, eyes filling up with tears.
Your crew grew vicious and desperate for their captain, their friends bleeding out on the ground, and their crew mate being held against their will. They shouted at the mob with vile names hoping for a legitimate order to give them the green flag for the Green Band pirates to tear them to pieces.
But your captain, already shot, wasn't about to risk their entire crew getting hurt on one enemy. He coughed snd choked on blood as he tiredly waved his palm at the crew. No one should rush in and get more hurt. But how would the Captain get themselves out, let alone you or the other 4 on the ground?
You look at your captain and fallen friends, "I'm sorry", and turn your view back to the figure in front of you,
"I don't know why you have a disgusting grudge against me.." you muttered under your breath.
"Oh? You don't think.. this.. is because of how you stole everything from me?-", they paused and corrected themselves "I mean..the island.. what you stole from the island!"
"I don't remember who YOU are. I think your just making shit up at this point you fucking dense bitch.", you remarked with a disgusted and angry lip. "Clearly- you didn't deserve to be remembered either" you finish with a roll of your eyes.
"How fucking dare you" their face twists in distain.
You pick up your legs and create another fanning circle, managing to double kick them in their chest.
They pause and graze over the side of their torso with their hand feeling what you kicked, "ah' bitch! Really?! you don't remember me?"
"I'm glad I don't. I'm not haunted by your fuckin' face at night. Someone so pathetic they can't even fight pirate like me without a single bounty without someone holding me back." It felt good to call your self a pirate. It gave you the biggest smile to say it, especially if it made this jerk in front of you mad.
"Too bad" they lift their arm, spinning it at the elbow, and then slamming their fist into your chest.
"If you were worth anything you would have be fighting me already. It's like you let yourself get caught. Your fault. Truely"
You drop your head as you feel the sudden loss of air. You gasp trying to regain your breath.
"Did you forget?" Geo reached into the back pocket the previous bounty had fallen from and pulled out a bounty for each of you crew, including yourself, putting the pages on the previous bounty beside you.
You broke down.
You bend your face to avoid any one seeing your break into sobs. You didn't want this person to get confirmation that you are weak or for your crew to get any semblance that you were either.
You didn't want this to be real. For the words thrown at you to be holding truth to them. But it seemed they did.
Your captain, lifting their torso of the dirt, shifted their knees and "walked" on them slightly forward towards the mob leader, their old wounds had reopened, their gunshot oozed and teared as they moved, and blood was coming from their nose and mouth,
"Get out of their face! They deserve more respect than to be talked down to by the filth that is in front of them. That you have chosen to be." They spat blood that had pooled at the last word in the mob leaders direction, hitting them in the right eye, causing him to stumble backwards into you and the assistant behind you.
Tripping over themselves and landing hard on his face in the dirt.
You get pressed into the dirt, literally eating a cloud of dust.
Don helps them back up.
As they grained composure, Geo retaliates to your captains words by grabbing your face from the dirt, sitting you up - bending you forward, and getting their bloodied filthy forehead onto yours.
"They deserve nothing. They are pathetic. They have been given more from this town then they are worth. A burden like them should have stayed out of sight."
You remember your captain reminding you to stay behind the crowd, You had not stayed hidden and the situation got worse, but you didn't regret taking action.
You grew tired of dealing with your wounds and this crazed individuals ranting and muttered "The only one that's pathetic is you"
Geo scoffs, "You have yet notice that you are the one facing the dirt. Here I am! Winning! Once the Marines come get you it's over for you! Look forward to that fuckers!" The crowd behind Geo waves more bounty pages.
The person behind you tightens their grip on your wrists. Don pressed you down over yourself. You couldn't lift your legs out from under your torso where you sat in the dirt. You eyes couldn't hold back their tears.
You look up to the sky to avoid the unwelcome gaze of the dastardly person in front of you. Slowly a ships mast comes to view, you squint your eyes to view flag it was waving. Was it the Jolly Roger flag flying above the tree line while the maniacs words continue to pinch at your heart, trying to gain victory in seeing you hurt? Was it the marines they were expecting? We're you about to be arrested? Was this justified?
Knowing a ship that was returning to the port made you feel confident that it could be some military personnel but weary that it could be pirate that would be worse than the creep in front of you. Either way. What hope was there to escape this after it has escalated to this point?
You can't help but to find your situation ridiculous and smile. You begin a nervous chuckle, the only coping mechanism you have to comfort you through this.
"If all you can do is pick on the weak, then what does that make you? Is all you do pick out someone's fears? You are sick! This is by far the most boring battle I've had to date! All talk.." you thrashed around trying to free your legs from under you, and get your wrists free from Don. Failing. Only gaining pressure on your back, constricting your breathing with your knees pushed against the ground and your chest. "..and no bite! Pathetic!" You say directing your voice into the air as you stare- no- as you cry into the sky.
"Stupid fucking pirate"
The lunatic leader hits the side of your neck with a closed fist.
Your neck has lost the strength to move, after all you had even ignored your doctors orders to stay in bed. You were advised to simply be visited by your parents on the ship (if the crew found them at all after all the celebration and drinking). You were already hanging on by a thread earlier, all the stress was breaking you down more.
You are knocked unconscious by a force to the back of your head from the person behind you keeping you captive.
Just as you feel your muscles go numb, a fiery ball flashes by your vision of the sky.
Suddenly, what looked like a hundred more balls of flame leaped by your glossy and blurred vision.
[insert Sogekings entrance and theme]
Sogeking had stationed himself on the roof of the towns clock tower that overlooked the town square.
The bad guy flew into a panic, barking orders at his mob screaming for them to listen,"Get out of sight! Find the shooter! Get the sniper!"
"Get them!
"Kill the shooter!"
"Find them!"
"Follow Geo's orders!"
"Stop them!"
The enemy crew scrambled to follow the flames flying and track them to their source.
Captain Grece looks over to to you as you are held captive and limp, their attitude shifts. From distressed sailor captain, to vengeful pirate captain.
They grunt as stands on their weak legs, "if you can't handle a fight, don't start one". They raise their fists and stabilize their position.
"I am Captain of the Green Band pirate crew. You have attacked my family", they look at Geo. "and-" they paused to clear their throat of blood, spitting again at the mob leader.
"-You have sealed your fate." Captain Green exclaimed as they threw their punch to the rambling mob leader in the back, sending the person into the wall of one of the town buildings. "You picked the wrong pirate crew to make an enemy of."
Geo grunts attempting to lift their torso up from the wall, "How the hell are you still moving after being shot point blank into the chest...damn bastard..
This party has been fun. it's time to bring out the cake".
"I agree, let's bring this to a close." Your Captain scoffed.
The sniper fires at the boisterous enemy leader, striking their chest forcing them against the battered and cracked wall causing them to cough up blood.
Wiping their mouth, they attempt to stand, yet in their struggle they continue to rub against the debris causing small damage to their arms.
Sogeking slid down the maintenance ladder of the clock tower, running into town square. "A hero should step in when they see a situation like this" he says in sharp breaths, "Attacking someone's self worth. Despicable. A gentleman, let alone a hero like myself, would be disgusted!"
The leader, laying on the wall rubbing their back and shaking their head screams "A hero? Humph", he spits excess blood pooling in their jaw on the dirt, "You don't scare me!"
Sogeking stands by Captain Green, aiming the kabuto at the mob leader.
Captain Green gives Sogeking a glance before saying with a grin "We should"
Geo manages to stand and readies their gun from their hip, bouncing the aim from on the Captain to you but the shake in their hand from getting slammed by Sogekings blasts makes their aim sloppy and they can't not see where they are trying to direct their bullet.
Sogeking fires at the leader, a explosion knocks the mob boss off their feet. A lump of shrapnel impairs the leaders firing arm, forcing them to drop their weapon as Geo falls back onto the ground.
Captain Green wonders why a sniper, with a perfect vantage point and out of view from the battle would give up that position on the clock tower to step into the front lines in such close contact, opposing their style of combat. The mystery sniper was putting themselves in harms way and their style of fighting wouldn't make sense here on the ground.
Captain Green looked between the sniper, the leader, and your unconscious form. They were glad they had support here, but a little more information to get a grasp on an advantage would be crucial. Scanning the surroundings, the Captain made their decision for a plan to end this. It would rely largely on the sniper to the bulk of the physical attack but the captain could pick up some slack to get this done.
The footsoldier holding you captive to the dirt lifts you and tosses you over their shoulder as they mans a run for it to escape. Your body hits a patio column, making a loud crack as your back hits it and a piece of the patio fence breaks and slices into your leg, your body slumps over the debris and drop onto your back in the dirt.
"Problem is..."
Geo walks from the rumble across to the other side of the town square to you, puts his foot to your chest, "I don't think you have a chance" he says in a grunted tone, adding pressure to your chest and the breakage in your back, while looking at the two people that have fought back. Geo makes a cruel laugh as they say, "The Green Band pirates should have never come here. And I don't see why the masked freak is getting fucking involved anyway".
Sogeking replies "You've said enough."
"Your right. I have."
"Get off of them. Now."
"Fine. Defend the bitch. It's not like your gonna save them"
"I will" Captain Grece remarks
"Let's see it then"
Sogeking fires at Geo striking them in the face and gut with exploding ammunition, Geo went unconscious and fell faced down into the dirt.
Captain Green pounded their feet into the ground with their fury as they walked up to the mob leader, grabbing them by the collar, "Party is over."
Captain Green flung them into the air, watching as the man fell into the trees. The crowd listened to branches cracked under the force of the fall and the thud of the body meeting the ground.
Sogeking walks over to you, lifting you onto his shoulder.
The crew, witnessing the end of the fight, sprint to their captain and unconscious crewmate. "Y/n! Wake up!" "Captain! Your bleeding! doctor quick!"
Sogeking walked over to Captain Green, carrying you over.
The crew's doctor, Blaire, comes rushing to render aid, "Do you need anything? Are you alright?"
Captain Green grins, "That sharp shooting was- just- spectacular! You have my gratitude! How badly did they get hurt?"
Sogeking looks at you and sits you on the ground, allowing to crews doctor to run over and make a quick examination, Sogeking was holding you up by your base of your head to keep your head from laying in the dirt.
The doctor confirms the injuries of the two and moves to Sogeking to offer him a checkup aswell.
Sogeking silently refuses, assuring he was not injured. He kept looking around, seeing the others worried faces.
Captain Green clears their throat, "Alright. What was your name kid?"
"It's Sogeking. I am..Sogeking from the Island of Snipers"
"Island of snipers huh? Amazing kid. Would you carry them with us to the towns hospital?"
Sogeking nods to affirm and lifts you up in his arms, "Lead the way"

————————————————————
When you open your eyes, you see that you were in your bedroom of your parents house. you feel more cloth had been placed on your chest and parts of your legs to wrap your old and reopened wounds aswell as for the new ones. They had the wrap tightly wound up around the chest from under the armpit to the end of the ribcage. You touched your neck and felt the cloth and gauze taped to the sore developing bruise. You reached to your legs to see if they were usable to walk and get out of the room with. You wiggled your toes and knew that it might mean, hypothetically, everything was in working order and could work if wanted, and that's all you wanted to know.
If you weren't broken enough physically, you could hide how broken you were internally.
Mentally unstable? Fine. You prioritize everything over yourself anyway.
You sit up to a sore back that promptly begged for rest. You put your hands on your legs to push them down and use that force to lift you, yet when you do, you feel each leg had been covered in ointment and small amounts of gauze on the back of your left thigh covering a large cut and bruising with the right leg receiving gauze completely around the middle of your calf. You were glad no one was walking in seeing you feel up your legs the way that you were, but it made you wonder why you were left alone. Surely Blaire or a different doctor, or a friend of yours from the crew, or anyone would walk in soon to see you and wish you well.
But then again... it was your fault..
The captain got hurt on the previous island because of your own recklessness and inability to regulate your emotions. Your stubbornness to not stay behind as the captain had told has yet again caused irreparable harm.
You have caused your crew to change plans after you miscalculate and nearly wreck your chances on a trip or fight. The words of the mob leader were harsh and you had brushed them off as the insults came, but now that your were awake, you had all the time to think about them. Maybe you were a burden? Why would people as strong as your captain or your crew need to keep defending you if you were actually capable of handling a situation on your own?
You moved your legs back onto the mattress, giving up on trying to stand and leave, giving in to sitting with your head on your knees thinking yourself into a deep hole. With each passing minute of silence in the room, you lose track of the way out of the pitiful mindset that you have plunged into.
Suddenly the bubble pops and you take a deep breath. You look around the room to lower your anxiety and learn more about where you were. You see your clothes folded on the nightstand to your left and your sword leaning against it.
The door leading out of the room was left lightly ajar enough for you to see the slight reddish coloration of the hallways wall paint and the wooden flooring. You have yet to know why you were here and not lying dead on dirt in the town square. You look at your patches and gear that was left by the nightstand. It clicked, someone cared. So what if you don't have a situation entirely handled, it was sort of fun in the moments to be where you were risking your life for your morals and friends. You were given treatment by someone that didn't want you hurt. Your crew must have left your belongings here for you. They did not just give up and leave them in the dirt. Clearly, you weren't totally a waste of space. You weren't pathetic. You exist with purpose. Or at least your friends think you have purpose. You have flaws, but that doesn't change that clearly your town or your crew cares to do anything for you, as you would do for them. That's all you needed.
Waking up and moping around wasn't the way to figure your life out. You can only improve yourself. To start, You need to stick it to the voice in your head that was repeating that shitty persons words.
So with new confidence you lift your head up off your knees and look up-
But you don't have the best strength to keep your torso or neck up for long and your head falls back onto the pillow.
"Ow"
That kinda snubbed your moment of wisdom from you.
You giggle to yourself, finding humor in how that went down. You desperately needed some fun. Your back may hurt but being confined in whatever building this room was in would suck more.
You came to the conclusion that you would try to joke with the next person that came in to probably check your wounds or see if your wake yet.
As if on the cue of that decision being asserted in your mind, you hear the chatter and footsteps of your Captain in a raspy voice with someone else.
"Thank you for being there again-, *cough* (Y/n)- they were.. in..."
You grab your blanket and cover your face. You think you can scare them both after you convince them you are still unconscious.
The perfect joke for the occasion. Whatever happens should make your day and liven the mood off of the injuries and depressing words floating in your head. You listen as the door opens and they enter the room.
"Alright. Here they are!" Grece called, knocking on the wall- not the door they have already opened. "Hm. Still in bed. Must not have woken up."
"Aw..Sadly they are not up yet...well I should be-" a voice you didn't immediately recognize from your crew hastily fumbled about the room.
"Well. Take a seat and we can wait for them. I'll go grab some tea!" The voice of your captain gave the person some affirmation. Leading them around the room.
You feel the side of the bed drop as one of them sits on beside you. Suddenly your groggy mind had a new plan. Sticking with the tricking them plan, you modified it to scare them here and now. You decided you will grab onto your captain before the other person leaves so that you surprise them both.
You sprung off the bed and latched onto the shoulders of hopefully the captain of your crew. You felt their surprise in their body language as they got tense and lifted slightly off the mattress.
"Boo!", you giggle, "SURPRISE! Fooled you both!"
You lift you gaze from the persons back to the center of the room. You see your captain leaned on the wall by the door.
"O-Oh!" You drop off from the persons back, "I'm sorry. haha... you are not my captain..."
Your captain erupts with full laughter but gets stopped by a sudden hoarse coughing fit as they tap their chest in pain.
"Sorry, I thought you were my captain or Xavier...one of my crewmates.."
Your captain coughs and gulps down air, wondering how to break hard news to you about Xavier.
The figure turns around where they sit and you see their colorful face, well- the colorful mask hiding their face. The bright yellow mask was one you recognized from the figure you had met on the path into town. "That's alright! It is good you have the energy to joke around like that in your condition, (Y/n)"
"Haha! Aw. Much appreciated. thank you!" You said smiling with a force as your nerves in the back continue to sting, screaming for you to lay back down.
You captain taps the wall with their foot, "boundless energy."
You chuckle, "Captain. I'm glad to see you up! Are you doing well?"
They coughed in between laughter, "Just got more stitches." They point to the masked person you had jumped on, "This man saved us back there in town, He is..."
"Sogeking", He offers his hand to you, "Nice to meet you”
“And..why?” You asked with major side-eye to your captain.
“They saved us. Be nice” The Captain responded.
“I was the great sniper that shot those scumbags down!" The masked man says.
You take his hand and shake, a warm welcome.
"I'm glad your alright (Y/n)" Sogeking whispered.
"Oh- well.. I don't know why you even bothered getting involved... Thank you. You saved me- and our crew.." You glance at you captain when saying the last line, remembering your regrets.
"Is Blaire and Xavier alright? And Cade?"
Grece sighs, "Xavier is...in rough shape but Blaire thinks he will be fine. He is back on the ship in his cabin resting. Blaires gonna come up and check on you after she's done with Xavier" Captain Grece scoffs, "since I don't remember much of..it, Sogeking can explain what happened while I get some tea."
You grew concerned with the captain, they have a pretty good memory, did that gunshot hurt? Well obviously- but you can't remember if they hit their head at any point to get a concussion or if it's trauma blocking their memories.
but you brush it off as you finally get to hear what you had missed by the appointed Savior.
Sogeking cleared their throat, "Well- When I arrived I saw-" He starts, explaining the entire event. You listen intently. Sogeking, nearing the end of the battles tale, continues to spark it with flair, "I had finally taken them down when my final shot reached the leader and knocked them out with the blazing ball of explosive fury!"
You gasped, completely in awe, "That is amazing!"
"Sheesh that's nothing for a sniper like me!"
"You saved my life!" , You give in to your pain and lay back on the bed, "I can't thank you enough!" You hear something snap and you get a shock in your side. "Ow- went down too fast.."
you make three shallow breaths as you willpower your way through the sharp pain in your torso to get it to subside.
The clock in the hallway chimed, indicating the sun would soon be setting.
Sogeking slowly began to rise from the edge of the bed, "I should get going. I must be on my way!"
"Wait!" You stumble getting yourself out of bed, entangled with your foot stuck in you blanket that you cocooned yourself into. "Hold on- I wanna hear-!" You flutter out as you begin falling into the man and pushing him into the wall and lifting yourself onto his shoulder.
You move your hands from Sogekings shoulders to grasp his hands for balance. You can barely keep your legs from buckling and dropping to the floor but Sogeking keeps you steady even with his back to the wall and getting knocked of balance himself.
"Slow down! The great warrio- A sniper like me won't let you fall. Don't get up that fast.. You are extremely hurt.. Here you- go", he said as he help you stabilize on you own two feet. You soften your grip on his hands and look at his mask.
Your captains footsteps echo at the doorframe as they enter the room, "Alright, it took 10 minutes to get the tea prepared but it was-" They take a second and then begin to shuffle into the room. "Y/n! You can't get out of bed! Sheesh!" They place the tray of tea on a small table by the end of the bed. Sogeking and the captain sit you down on the bed.
The captain ruffles you hair and in their strained voice laugh, "you need to rest for 7 full days. Maybe more over the next couple months, from what I'm told. Then, when we can finish the week, we can set sail again when the logpose sets." They turn to Sogeking, "if you don't have to go before the end of the week, would you help keep them from getting themselves hurt? Actually- you should stay for the party prior to when we leave aswell!"
"A party? Come on! If I can't get cleared by then I'll miss out!" You whined.
Sogeking waves his arms around, "I really shouldn't- I mean- the island-"
"One party in your honor for helping my crew couldn't hurt could it?"
"I suppose..I couldn't run away from such a kind offer!" Sogeking says
"Then. Could you stay 4 days?
Keep Y/n from breaking themselves any more and await your celebration party?"
"4 days?" Sogeking repeats.
"Aww come on!"you groaned and pleaded, "that's too close! You said I had to wait a full week! A party in 4? Now that's just cruel!"
"Then you are motivated to get better so you can at least watch right?" Grece says.
"Gah fine." You scoff.
"Alright good. Now. Sogeking. Is this alright with you? I think my crew would love to properly create a few things, in your honor, to use for the party. 4 or 5 days should be enough- that alright?"
"...Yeah- 4 days is fine. That is very kind of you. It is great. Thank you." Sogeking says.
"Perfect, I'll go tell the crew immediately about the celebration of the Powerful Sniper that saved us all." He pats Sogeking firmly on the back.
"I assure you, it will be worth the wait."
You slumped in bed and scoffed.
"That's great. Can you get out?"
"Whaaaat? Now who is being cruel." Grece mockingly whines.
"You said I need my rest. So. Get. I'm tired. My back hurts anyway." You yawn and dramaticly point to your face and bed, "bed rest. Let's go. Shoo."
"Get well y/n" Sogeking waves goodbye, exiting the room. The small gesture brings you small joy, You wave in a flustered goodbye back.
Grece flips their hair as they turn to leave, "Fine. I'm going to ask your mom for pie then!"
You gasp in jest, "YOU! Such a monster! How dare you! bring me pie!"
Grece mocks you as you have done together since meeting 5 years ago, "Oh nooo" and shrugged their shoulders. "Am I?"
With a empty room to yourself, you take a long deserved nap, preparing for a even longer recovery.
