The clear skies had Y/N practically skipping with joy as she made her way down to where Sirius was watering his plants. The nice weather wasn’t the only thing making her excitement spill over into every step she took though, a majority of her excitement was caused by one person.
Sirius had a day off coming up and Y/n couldn't help but want to ask the man she'd fallen for if he'd join her in the central quarter for the day, under the guise of needing to buy a couple things of course, but she'd take anytime she could get with Sirius, even if it was just running errands to him.
In reality she'd gotten a couple recommendations from Seth for good coffee shops, and just general places to go. She definitely did need to stop and run a few errands, but her goal for the day was to ultimately spend as much time as she could enjoying Sirius' company.
This was all only if he agreed of course.
That sudden thought had halted Y/n's enthusiasm, what if he had other plans? Or what if he would rather tend to his plants and spend the day with Chutney? The last time she'd spent his free day with him the others had to trick him into leaving the headquarters and relaxing.
Though her worries were rather brief. As soon as Sirius came into view, his large figure crouched over the flowerbeds, meticulously picking out the invasive weeds, Y/n couldn't help but feel her affections grow. At that moment she decided, even if his answer was no, the worst case scenario was that she'd end up going with someone else, someone probably appointed by Sirius to accompany her, so why not just go for it?
"Hey Sirius!" Y/N called out as she got closer, smiling brightly at the man in front of her, "I've got a question for you!"
Sirius stood up, dusting his hands instinctually, he faced Y/n with his usual relaxed smile, "hello to you too," he said with a chuckle, "well then, ask away little lady, I'm all ears."
At his direct gaze Y/n faltered, a faint blush covered her cheeks as she looked away, "I have to get some things at the central quarter tomorrow, so if you have some time and if it wouldn't be to much of a bother, I was wondering if you could you come with me?"

Sirius gazed at Y/n, adoration welling up inside him, she was looking anywhere but at him, and the blush on her cheeks was getting slightly brighter, he sighed softly, "I always have time for you Y/n, and you'll never be a bother to me, no matter what you do," the words slipped out before he could even think to stop them, a look of panic flooded his features for a fraction of a second.
Eyes widening, Y/n let out a soft sound of surprise before responding, "if you say things like that I may just end up getting the wrong idea Sirius," she parroted the words he had said to her not too long ago, a small pout gracing her features.
Sirius looked away, unable to keep looking at her when she made such an adorable face, before muttering, "well what if that's what I intended?" His voice was deep and serious, not a trace of humour could be detected by either of them.
Just for a moment Sirius considered giving in, letting her know his feelings, when Y/n's squeak of surprise had brought his attention back to her, she looked as if she was at a loss for words, her blush somehow brightening even further.
As if her reaction had made him realise what he had said, Sirius broke into a smile that didn't quite cover the conflicted look in his eyes, "you really shouldn't take everything so seriously Y/n, I was only teasing." His words came a few seconds too late, enough for anyone perceptive to know that he had hesitated.
Y/n stared quizzically at him, sceptical of his words before huffing, "well... I..Well, whatever, Sirius! I wish you wouldn't do that so often," y/n stuttered out with a slight frown. Flustered beyond words at what Sirius had said, and despite his admission to teasing her, Y/n’s heart just would not calm down. Maybe it was the conflicted look in his eyes or maybe the short pause but Y/n couldn't help but feel that there was more to his teasing than he let on.
"I'll... I'll just be going then," Y/n's voice was quiet, as if she couldn't trust her voice not to waver after that whole exchange. With her eyes trained on her shoes, y/n made to leave, completely forgetting the answer she approached him to get.
"Wait, Y/n tell me what time we'll be leaving tomorrow before you go," Sirius' words had made her head shoot up, her gaze landing on the man who had turned and gone back to tending to his plants.
"Um... I'm, I'm not sure, Probably around 10 I think, yeah 10, if that's okay with you?" She managed to get out as her heart began racing, from excitement this time, once again.
"Alright I'll see you at 10 tomorrow little lady,” Sirius responded without looking back at her, a slight smile on his face, he couldn't bear to say no to her, nor that he'd wanted to refuse in the first place. “And I wasn’t lying when I said you’re never a bother to me," Sirius said softly after a pause, mostly too himself. of course those words went unheard by the person they were meant for.

Bonus:
Seth looked on as the pair conversed, a look of exasperation on his face. It was so clear to anyone with eyes that the pair were in love with each other. He’d never seen people so smitten with one another and yet so stubborn that they refused to make any progress.
Seth Decided he had to come up with a plan for the next day, something to push them closer, or at least prompt them to actually share their feelings.
Seth heaved a sigh, “Luka we just must do something! I can’t let my dear Alice go on like this.”
“Huh??” Luka let out a puzzled sound, “Like what? She looks plenty happy to me?”
“We just must!”
