Vi and Caitlyn had been resting in Caitlyn's bed for hours. With some time to finally rest, the two just talked and talked with various topics being explored in the amount of time. After coming from the undercity, the two did have a lot to touch up on. A bunch of stories from each side, two very different experiences of life yet fascinating to the other. Though, Vi's Childhood differed greatly of that to Caitlyn's she enjoyed the stories being told. A pleasent change compared to what she had endored in prison.
But of course, the topic couldn't have stuck with the women's childhoods. Caitlyn had gone on tangents of what she enjoyed. Investigations, stories, games she used to play. A bit of complaining snuck it's way into the conversation more than either of them could count, but it wasn't necessary a bad thing.
And as she rambled, Vi couldn't manage to pull her gaze away once. Being caught up in her own thoughts that all revolved around Caitlyn. The time in the undercity, the first time in a long time she was embraced by some other person. Not too often did the thought cross that Caitlyn was going to harm her.
Why was that so....warming?
In the presense of this girl, she felt protected, rather than the protector. Yet, that doesn't mean she'd let Caitlyn get harmed. She wished, at the very least, to be wrapped in Caitlyn's welcoming embrace. A full hug...a side one too. Anything would gladly satisfy her....well, if she wanted to feel truly full, maybe something else would suit her taste. All of those missed opportunities she had while in the Uncdercity with Caitlyn, she thought... just a kiss. Those three words ran and ran inside her brain; With her thoughts all out of focus, her heart could barely catch up. Something truly out of the norm for Vi, her face only went from a soft pink to bright red. The sheer presence of this woman had Vi flushed beyond words .
"Vi? Vi, are you alright? You aren't sick, are you?" Caitlyn sat up and scooted closer to Vi while cupping her warm cheek. "Oh jeez, all warm and red. Do you need me to get you ice- or medicine maybe?"
"Aha, you worry too much sometimes," Vi pulled herself up to meet with Cait's loving gaze, cuddling upon her arm that was on her own cheek. "I'm alright, Cupcake."
She attempted to pull her arm away but that doesn't mean Vi was going to let go."Haven't I told you to stop calling me that-?" Caitlyn tried tugging her arm from Vi's grasp but somehow she forgot how great Vi's arms were in comparison. It would take a lot more than just a tug to get out of this, however, was there anything really wrong being clapsed by Vi? She spend so long in the Undercity with her, even with the amount of fights endured by the two she had trust that Vi would have her back. And she had hers.
"I wonder, do you taste as sweet as you act?" Vi whispered, taking a glance at her lips then back at her face.
"Huh?? Vi-" Vi gently pulled Caitlyn back down onto her bed whereas before when she was on her side, she laid on her back with pink hair tickling the side of her cheek as Vi inched closer. "I don't taste good- what are you trying to do-!?" The sheriff's cheeks started at a the shade of cotton candy, quickly dropping in shades. A beautiful rose red to balence out all of that blue.
"Maybe you do..." Caitlyn's eyes widdened as Vi's lips fell ontop of hers. The women's muscles loosened themselves as the kiss went on. With seconds passing, Caitlyn softened her gaze and soon shut her eyes. Oh how they both waited for this moment. Caitlyn's arm collapsed besides her as Vi took grasp of it, intertwining their hands and becoming one. Vi's other arm being used as a pillow for Cait's head- her hand stroking her hair. Two tales becoming one in the simpliest of moments, and despite how simple it was so much joy was brought to the two.
With Vi pulling herself up, she hushed out a few words, "I love you, Cupcake~." She smiled larger than all the other small smirks Caitlyn got to peak at while venturing together.
"And I love you more, Vi."
She let herself fall ontop of Caitlyn, her head meeting with Caitlyn's chest. The repeatitive sound of her heart beat was unlike any music Vi had ever heard.
Safe,, thats what it sounded like and... it felt like safety. For the first time in a long time, she truly felt safe with someone- with Caitlyn. She lifted her head to kiss Cait again, just to go back seconds.
Both of them still venturing and finding out where they really belong, and it seems that journey will come to an end soon, only to begin a new chapter within their hearts. Vi soon fell asleep with Caitlyn's arms wrapped around her back, Caitlyn didn't stay up late either. That exhausting trip took them both out for the night. And tomorrow was a new beginning for them both.
