Chapter Text
As Sonic and Chip explored the town, they asked around to see who knew him. It was no joking matter that Eggman was at it again. Having broken the Earth into pieces so that a dark creature could be unleashed, Sonic turned into a weird creature, a werehog. Unfortunately, Sonic landed on Chip. Sonic offered to help him since he didn't remember who he was. The two of them are exploring the town, asking around to see if anyone knows Chip.
When Chip flies up to the moth boy, he sees him reading a book. Seeing Chip, the moth turns toward him. I'm sorry to bother you, but do you know who I am?" The moth looked at Chip for a moment before shaking his head no.
"I don't. Sorry." Chip looks sad as he flies away. After a moment of reflection, the moth closed his book as he caught up with Chip.
"Hey!" Chip stops and turns around. "I have nothing better to do today. Perhaps I can help you discover who you are." Chip's eyes light up as he smiles.
"Yay!" he exclaims. Thank you so much, uhm-"
"Oh, I'm Aaron. Nice to meet you." The moth, Aaron said with a small smile.
"Nice to meet you, Aaron! I'm Chip! Let's go meet up with my friend." Aaron nods as they approach Sonic, who was conversing with an older man.
Sonic looks up as his name is called. With his usual grin, he responds. Sonic asked, "Any luck?" Chip gave him a sad head shake, no.
"No one knows me. But someone was willing to help me. His name is Aaron." Aaron stood quietly for a moment, staring at Sonic.
“I don't suppose you're Sonic the Hedgehog, do you?" Sonic smirked cockily at Aaron's question.
"The one and only! A fan?" Aaron laughed and shook his head.
"Oh no. My sister is. She looks up to you ever since you saved the city. The more she finds out about your adventures, the more amazed she becomes. She wanted to become a hero like you one day, so she started traveling." He explained as Sonic listened. "Wow! Really? She sounds like a cool person!" Aaron nods in agreement.
“In speaking of adventures, wouldn't you know about the earthquake that happened earlier?" Aaron asked as Sonic shook his head no. "No. Not at all." Aaron says nodding. "Alright. I hope it's OK if I tag along."
"Hey, the more, the merrier," Sonic said as he went a bit serious. "I have a lead on where we can go. Follow me." Sonic said as he took off and the two followed closely behind him.
They reached a small area. Sonic explained that an older man led them there. Sonic went ahead, as Chip and Aaron stayed behind to get to know each other. As Aaron pulled out the book, Chip asked, "What were you reading earlier?"
"Just a book about gadgets. Trying to help out my sister," he said as Chip nodded. "What have you made?" Aaron pulls out some type of blast gun.
"This blast gun right here is the only thing I built so far! It is supposed to stun enemies, but I have no idea for how long since I got nothing to test it with."
"Maybe I can help with that," Sonic said as he walked up to the two. "Come with me. I fight robots all the time. I think it'll be good practice." Aaron smiles and nods. "I'm in."
"Cool. Hope you can keep up." Sonic teases before racing off. Aaron tries to follow along with Chip close behind.
When they approached a robot, Aaron launched an electric blast at it. It was stunned for a few minutes before it began to move again. As Sonic attacks the robot, Aaron has a look of shock and excitement in his eyes. “I-It worked? It worked!” Aaron cheered, flying in the air a little, as Chip joined in the cheer. "That's some weapon, Aaron." Sonic says as Aaron lands on the ground.
"I still need to improve it," Aaron says. Aaron explained that the gun needed time to cool before he could fire again. “But I’m glad to know that I can be of use.” Sonic smiles as he nods. “Alright then. Let’s keep moving!” Aaron nods as the three teens keep moving.
When the day turns to night, Sonic transforms into a werehog and Aaron stares in shock. “Uh…..is that normal or is this Eggman’s doing?” Aaron asked as Sonic answered it was Eggman.
“I would say that I’m in shock, but he did blow up half of the moon that one time.” Aaron states as Sonic nods. While returning to town, they noticed that the ice cream guy wasn't in his usual happy mood. He was yelling about what was the point and the Earth is in pieces.
“That’s…..weird.” Aaron commented as Chip flew up to the guy, trying to make him feel better. The guy accidentally knocked over Chip, who was holding the ice cream. Before the ice cream hit the ground, Sonic's arm reached out to grab it.
“Woah!” Aaron said in shock. “Huh?” Sonic put the ice cream back on the stand. "That's new." he commented.
After more exploration, a lead was given to them. The group entered a temple. “Woah. "This place is ancient." Aaron said as he explored the area a bit as Sonic walked around. As he approached a door, it lit up and opened up a new path.
“Hey, Aaron!” Sonic called and Aaron flew over. "Wow!" he exclaimed. “Where do you think this leads to?”
“Only one way to find out.” Sonic said as he started to run down the hallway, the other two closed behind him.
During their exploration, they fight some monsters. They arrived at a sealed door. Sonic walks up to it and uses his strength to open it. As soon as the door opened, there were monsters everywhere. Aaron smirked and said, "Time to get to work." Sonic nodded and the two took care of the monsters. When the monsters were all defeated, Tails flew down to where the group was. "Is that you, Sonic?" Tails asked as Sonic nodded.
As they walked back to a clear area, they talked about how the Earth was in pieces. Due to the sun rising, Sonic has already changed back to his normal self. "So, it's like an Earth-shaped puzzle?" Aaron asked as Tails nodded.
“It sounds like a good excuse to travel the world,” Sonic said. “The run would be simple if the world weren't shattered."
"We can use my tornado 2!" Tails declared as the gang walked up to Tails' plane.
Tails explained where they were going after they boarded the plane. Aaron asked. "Are we going to Spagonia? I believe my sister is there as well." Chip looked excited at that comment.
"Oh boy! Is it possible we'll meet your sister?" Aaron smiles a bit, but nods. The gang took off into the sky, on their adventure.
