With Just One Kiss

Summary:

A short indulgent fic about Ritsuka kissing Goetia on the lips, as they fade away in their last moments.

Work Text:

Ritsuka gets close to Goetia in their final moments and kisses the Beasts' hands gently; chaste.

"We both are a lost cause for destiny. One thing is for certain is, you love humanity in your own way." Ritsuka sees the golden stardust showering down from the long strands of hair surrounding him. The Chaldean Master was still shaking with adrenaline and felt a bit dizzy but their message had to be heard to the Beast.

"I thank you for it. Now rest..."

The Beast God | Goetia sighs the longest sigh they have ever done in their life. Their eyelids merely glanced over Ritsuka's battle-wounded frame. He brings them closer to their face. To hear the sound that they cherished and terrified most from all living creatures, a heartbeat. Ritsuka's chest pressed against Goetia's cheek.

They didn't struggle and continued pressing small kisses on the Beast's face. A big teardrop drenched his uniform head to toe, they paid no mind. Goetia spoke with a wavering voice, sparkles of gold rising up around him.

"Human, may I ask a request?" The Beast's body was slowly disappearing, their end was near. All Ritsuka could do was nod at them, hair fluttering in the wind.

Goetia spoke once more

"Ritsuka, will you tell me you love me? I know you can't forgive what I have done to your companions and servants. All I ask is for a truthful life."

Ritsuka touched Goetia's face with their palm and whispered to their ear. The following words should be kept between them. It was quiet only for the rumble of rocks tumbling could be heard nearby. It was just the two of them in that solemn moment.

"I, I love you."

"I love you, Goetia."

Their breath rattled as they started to cry too.

"I love you."

"Most importantly, I won't forget you, Goetia..."

The Beast God reassured closed their eyes and as much as honesty he could muster, he replied in a sad voice.

"If only, we could have met in a different circumstance, I would have led you away from the strife of anguish and war." The Beast Goetia ceased to move at last.

Ritsuka sat on the broken marble floor.

Alone.
