“Hey Reiner!”

A familiar voice yelled across the corridor. Reiner turned around and saw Jean. Reiner never really got on well with people if he didn’t like someone he would tell them. Reiner didn’t know how he felt about Jean he was different they never really became great friends though. But it was a nice change for Reiner to be able to have others.

“Sup.”

Jean was running at this point, Reiner was confused and overwhelmed he’d never actually seen Jean run. Reiner was a big athlete and Jean was the opposite, Jean never really tried in physical education and dropped it as soon as he could.

“Reiner i need to tell you something, and you probably won’t like it but please hear me out at least.”

Reiner was even more confused at this point, what on earth could Jean be on about.

“I’ll listen as long as its quick, i’m going to meet up with Bertholdt.”

Bertholdt was Reiners best friend but Reiner wanted them to be more, they knew each other since they were kids and had always been attached at the hip, and this was the problem what if Reiners feeling ruined this perfect relationship?

“Okay basically, there is this massive party happening at mine tonight and everyone is going to be there. Like everyone even Mikasa and Histora said they’d be there! You’ve got to come!”

“Ehhh.”

As much as Reiner was popular he’d never enjoyed party’s, or enjoyed the company of the girls Jean had mentioned.

“Reiner please do it for me.”

Jean stared into Reiners eyes there was no way in hell he could say no now.

“Fine, but just today don’t expect this to be a regular thing.”

“Of course. Of course. I’ll text you the time and stuff. I owe you man so many more girls will come now they know you’re going!”

The bell rung to signify lessons we’re starting.

“Shit i’ve got to get to class, I guess i’ll see you at the party.”

Reiner yelled whilst running towards his class.

“Fuck, I didn’t get to see Bertholdt before class and we don’t share a single lesson today.”

Reiner was completely zoned out in all his lessons. What if Bertholdt was going to the party? Should i ask him to come? Would Jean be alright with it? After all the stress Reiner finally mustered up the courage to text Jean.

This could be the best day of Reiners life, would he finally confess to Bertholdt?

After a long and tiring day Reiner finally headed home. However he came to a conundrum he had no clue what to wear. Sweats and a t-shirt? No, far too simple. Jeans and a plaid shirt? Too tacky.

Reiner then stood in his room for a minute.

“I’m so dumb.”

He was stressed. Oh so stressed, his first party in ages, he’s forgotten how to act. Surly it would be fine though. Bertholdt would be there, it will be fine.

Reiner arrived at the party a little late but he made it.

“Hey Reiner!”

Reiner knew who it was without even looking.

“Berty! I feel like I haven’t seen you in ages!” Reiner ran up to Bertholdt immediately giving him a hug making Bertholdt let out a nervous laugh. Shortly after a group of girls came rushing after Reiner trying to take him away.

“I’m not looking for a girlfriend right now. Sorry.” Reiner said this with a complete deadpan face a few of the girls gave him a slap but eventually they all left.

“Suffering from success.” Joked Bertholdt

“Shut up.” Reiner said rolling his eyes, he didn’t want Bertholdt to shut up he wanted him to keep speaking but Reiner still had some sanity left. At least he hoped he did.

“Hey Reiner, you actually made it!” Jean came in the kitchen followed by his friends, and..... Mikasa?

Reiner knew Jean had a crush on Mikasa for god knows how long, he never thought he’d actually manage to speak to her.

Reiner giggled in response he didn’t really know what else to do.

“We we’re gonna play truth or dare care to join us?” “You can join us too Bertholdt, that is if you want to?”

“Yes”
“I’m not sure-”

Reiner didn’t particularly want to do it incase he had to share his massive crush on Bertholdt, but if Bertholdt wanted to he would join in.

“Fine, i will but no proper personal questions.”

“Come on man thats half the fun!” Connie was yelling from the back of the group.

Reiner was dragged by Connie and Sasha to a room near the back of the house where no one else was.

The game of truth or dare was going smoothly. Just a few dance around shirtless dares and when was the last time you wet your bet kind of questions and dares.

All of a sudden Annie walked in the room. Reiner had never met Annie before but he knew Bertholdt liked her. Reiner felt sick. What was I thinking of course Bertholdt couldn’t like me back.

The truth or dare game continued. Jean had just asked Annie her question ‘Who would you want to fuck the most out of the people here’. Bertholdt was coughing, all of a sudden. Reiners mind was going wild.

Annie replied “Mikasa.” Bertholdt left he said he was getting water. Reiner didn’t know why but he ran after Bertholdt.

“Hey.” Reiner entered the bathroom where Bertholdt was sitting. Reiner and Bertholdt stood in silence for a while.

“Reiner, why are you crying?”

Reiner had no idea but he was crying, tears coming out his eyes, he was at a loss for words.

“Reiner-“

“Because - you love Annie!”

“I dont love Annie, I never loved Annie. I love you but you-“ Bertholdt ran out of the room spilling his water.

Jean ran in the room, Reiner sunk down to the floor. He was shaking, he just yelled at Bertholdt, he completely misunderstood the situation.

“Reiner, I heard it all...” Reiner leant his head on jeans shoulder.

“What do i do now Jean? I fucked it up. I love him Jean, I love him so much.”

“I could tell.” Jean said letting out a snort.

“Look I’m not in the best situation either i just found out my crush is gay but i’ll ignore that for a second.”
“Go after him. Chase for him. Tell him you love him. I know this is cheap coming from me but be open he just confessed you need to return that.”

And with those words Reiner rubbed his tears and stood up. Jean patted his shoulder grimacing at the damp patch. He then fixed Reiners hair.

“Go and get him then!”

Reiner ran he didn’t even process what just happened all he knew was that he needed to find bertholdt.

“BERTHOLDT. BERTHOLDT WHERE ARE YOU.”

A boy Reiner somewhat recognised came up to him.

“Bertholdt went that way,” The boy said pointing upstairs .
“He looked pretty upset, poor lad never been to a party before and ends up crying.”

Reiner just realised it was Eren saying this, he didn’t really care about Erens remarks so he thanked him and started to head upstairs continuing to call out for Bertoldt.

He saw him. Bertholdt walked into a empty bedroom so Reiner followed.

“Bertho-“
“Reiner I’m sorry I just-”

There was a long pause.

“I love you.”
“I love you too Berty, I didn’t mean to yell at you my emotions just got carried away.”

Bertholdt pulled Reiner in to kiss him. Reiner didn’t back away, he leaned in closer. Both of them shared a passionate loving kiss.

“Fuck, I love u Bert.”
“I love you too u idot.”
