Chapter Text

Mikasa wanted a family. Sadly... it wouldn't be with Eren.

He made a fair point, so she didn't protest about it even though it hurt. Even though she wished otherwise.

But she's not aimless. She has an idea in mind. Eren wasn't wrong there, just... very much assuming she had a full plan when it was just bits and pieces.

She was 19 when she and Eren split up permanently. She's 20 when Big Mom truly starts. And it starts with her being drunk.

She has, absolutely no recollection as to why she did that or how but she ends up in a stranger's bed.

The man is dead the second she sees exactly what they've been doing. And she feels shame.

Then, she learns she's pregnant. And for a second, thinks of abortion. It's simple, and she'd just... forget about that drunken night that was a mistake.

But, in the end? Sasha, one of her crewmates, makes her decide otherwise. And then, she thinks of her talk with Newgate.

Family.

Maybe... maybe she can start with this absolutely unplanned Baby? Well, she's first going to need to wait and see if it's a boy or a girl.

9 Months pass and Perospero is born in a random port town. Her first son.

It's around that time she decides to try her plan, something Sasha is all too willing to help. Create her own Kingdom outside of the corrupt World Government.

So, her yet unnamed Crew finally settle down on an Island. Which, was the Island where the Sheeps House once was.

She was holding Baby Perospero in her arms when she saw the abandoned house. The... outside looked untouched. She could even see the... remains and clothes still there when her Hunger Pang (it was an excuse, for once, her stupid illness wasn't at fault) kicked in.

She felt like puking again but refrained from doing so. And instead, saw otherwise.

''This could be the starting point of something great,'' Mikasa says.

Sasha nods excitedly.

''For sure!''

Now, they just needed to start.

And slowly, the name Big Mom became a thing as it gradually fit her.

To build a Kingdom, you needed people. Money and Resources. Something Mikasa currently lacked. Something they would gain over time.

But for now, she needed a source. And suddenly, an idea springs to mind. Make an Alliance with a King from nearby. Negotiate with them, and you could gain what you wanted.

In the end, she would succeed with Fritz. The deal however... well, she gave birth to a set of Triplets. Three Healthy girls she names Maria, Rose and Sina.

The King had a need for Heirs and didn't care who bore his Children so long as he had Heirs. Then, she had the help of One Kingdom.

Her crew meanwhile, kept recruiting more Members.

And with the resources build, the previously nameless Island, became known as Whole Cake Island.

It was around that time she began to think about what to do with her Devil-Fruit. She knew the more Soul absorbed, the higher her lifespan. She used their minor Souls as nourishment, at first. It did expand her lifespan, and might just keep her body physically younger if it worked. A younger body meant less likelihood to be overpowered by the young.

Then, she decided to use those Souls as... well, to give life to objects. See how that goes.

She could always get more souls from her enemies. Not like she'd run short of it, ever. So, she tested a lot while pregnant with her triplets.

It's also during that time she really starts to think of the long run. A Kingdom. A ruling province.

A year after her Triplets are born, she comes to a decision.

She's going to have a total of 50 Children. So that she can have a big family to help her as she deals with... business. And also just to be a mother.

And so, Big Mom was well and truly born while Tottoland grew over time.

When she wasn't giving birth or taking care of her children, she was conquering lands for her Kingdom. She was 30 by the point when she had a small kingdom completely separate from the World Government.

Perospero was 10 by then.

And it was around that time she obtains the Title of Emperor of the Sea. She actually didn't even realize it until Sasha straight up barged in on her while holding the Newspaper.

''Mikasa! You have to see this!''

And promptly threw the Newspaper in her face. She grumbled quietly at how unnecessary that was, but still read it.

''A person rumored to be the strongest woman, and perhaps even the most beautiful as of currently, with power beyond what can be 'human'. Mikasa Ackerman, better known as Big Mom, has achieved the status of a Pirate Emperor of the Sea. She retains that title alongside Whitebeard, Gol D. Roger and-''

And she pauses. She hadn't stopped when she heard the word strongest woman, or even the beautiful bit (though she took pride in knowing she was still seen as beautiful), or even when human was used with parentese. No, she stopped at the last of the 4 Emperors.

The last name was Eren Yeager.

It's... been a while since she last heard his name. In fact, she hasn't really heard much of him these days. Like, what is he doing now? Causing Mayhem?

Turns out, the Papers also says it. He's began conquering territories as well, hence why he's considered an Emperor of the Sea.

She has her own page explaining why she's considered an Emperor. More or less the same reason as Eren's. Although her current wanted poster had an Image of her laughing maniacally.

Why was she laughing like that? Because when she found something particularly hilarious, she laughed in a manic manner. She couldn't help it.  The picture had to be taken when Sasha had given one of her jokes then...

''I thought you might like to learn a bit more about what was going on with him,'' Sasha stated, and Mikasa gave her a smile.

''Thank you for that. Still... Big Mom?''

Sasha shrugged.

''Real creative. You've got... what, 5 sets of Children? Well, you are getting the 5th one soon.''

Indeed, she was pregnant again. 8 months in and only one more month left. Mikasa only chuckled.

''You say that, but I heard you and Niccolo were also planning on having children, no?''

Now, Sasha blushed.

''Well, I mean... not as many as you for sure!''

She pointed her finger at Mikasa, who now outright laughed.

''For sure.''

Niccolo was one of the citizens of her kingdom. A gradually growing one at that. He was one of the first as well, and Sasha... well, she loved food just about as much as Mikasa did.

Except hers were sweets, and Sasha's was meat... more often than not. In the end, he'd be working as a chef in Whole Cake Island alongside Streusen.

Sasha then slowly frowned.

''Still, you sure it's a good idea to have... well, this many children in what's basically each time 2 years? I get you want a large family... but still.''

Mikasa can tell Sasha is worried. And she's touched by it.

''Don't worry about me. I've always been... abnormal. More than what a Human really should be. I'll be fine. However, I do suggest you take some more time with Niccolo, alright?''

She gave a teasing smile and Sasha in return, groaned.

''Ugh... sometimes I hate you.''

''But you also love me, Potato Girl.'' Mikasa teased, made all the more obvious with an obvious grin on her face.

''I hate you even more!'' and yet, she had an exactly matching grin.

Mikasa had a heritage. Maybe still has, for that matter.

She never actually paid much attention to it until much later. The fact she doesn't even remember how she got that Triangular katana-shaped Tatto should have been one obvious sign.

(The fact it's etched in her skin said it was done sometime before her inhuman genetics took full hold. A time when she was still a normal human)

But... she actually remembers her mother's words, before she was abandoned. Always have it covered. Hence why she either had a wristband or bandages covering the mark.

No one actually knew she had it, but as her powers grew, both herself and her Kingdom's, she began to make some research.

Her still growing information network found a lead while she was still pregnant from the third set of Children.

(Katakuri, Oven, and Daifuku would be without their mother for a good couple of months before she could take care of them)

The Kingdom of Hizuru. A rather... odd, place. Ruled by the Azumabitos, they were known to be some of the greediest people alive. But her information network told her that this is where they found this symbol.

Problem is, the Island of Hizuru isn't in the Grand Line. In fact, she's surprised to learn it's in the East Blue, of all places. At the exact opposite of where she currently was.

Which meant if she visited... well, she wouldn't be back for a while.

But, she wants answers. And there really is nothing that can stop her from getting there. The Marines? More dead bodies to a growing pile.

The Red Line? She can fly over it. Zeus really just needs clouds or Thunder to be replenished, and there's plenty in the air.

Potentially them not wanting her there? Well, she'll deal with it when she gets there. Maybe she can even disguise herself. Or maybe she should cut her long hair to short again. It should throw them off long enough so that she can get something.

Plan in mind, she just needs to make some preparations.

Once she's given birth, she's heading to East-Blue and leaving her children under the care of many Maids, Sasha included.

And then... and then, she'd get some answers. Maybe she'd be able to learn exactly why she was abandoned if her parents were there at all. Not that it would be a huge loss if she didn't find them. But, it would be nice.

Perospero is 6 when she decides to go. Maria, Rose, and Sina are still too young to understand much, so she only has that personal talk with him. Explaining to him why she's leaving for a time.

To finally learn a bit about her origins.

At the time, and unknown to both of them, this would end up shaping both of them into something more. And make her eldest, mature further than expected.

Then, Mikasa Ackerman, not known as Big Mom yet, flew away on top of Zeus. Her objective, to learn of her past.

From 30 and further, Mikasa forms a system to help manage the growing Islands. She's conquered about all Islands in her Land, and will soon begin to try expanding further.

Right now, the system is simple. Each Island has one leader who reports to her. Not much of a problem there.

However, it will keep growing. And eventually, there will simply be too much for her alone to handle. So, she thinks of a council. The Islands report to a set Councilman, who report to her.

There's a lot more going on there, but the base idea is there. And it's something she continues to polish as time goes on.

Zeus had to rest, and so, Mikasa rested on Islands. It's a routine that keeps happening for a bit as she travels from the New World to East Blue.

And then, the day arrives. To make herself look less suspicious, she ends up boarding a passenger ship that'll go to Hizuru.

During that time, she's able to learn a bit about Hizuru and the Azumabito Clan.

They are, actually a sort of company that has a hold in all of East-Blue. Even the other Blues have a small branch of them, but they're at their strongest here.

Upon her arrival at the Island, she's not noticed to be a Pirate. Mostly because she's cut her hair again to its shorter length. Her recent Bounty Poster had her with shoulder-length hair.

That, and she's in casual clothing. She normally never wears anything like that, so it helps.

And then, she explores. And a couple of hours later, she ends up resting in a nearby cafe Hizuru has. Drinking Tea while thinking of what she's learned.

For one, the Azumabito Estate, or Headquarters, was in the Middle of the Island. Quite well placed.

For another, their dressing style wasn't something you'd see in East-Blue. In fact, there was only one place she could think of, and she'd never actually visited it instead of hearing about it.

''It fits with Wano's dressing style.'' she internally thought as she took a sip from her tea.

You wouldn't find it originate anywhere in the world but Wano. So either someone else had thought of that dressing style, or people from Wano, which she'd heard were a rather secluded bunch, were immigrating already.

''Not that it should matter to me. Still...'' the Mark had only shown up in one place. The Azumabito Estate. Exactly where the current 'Queen' resided.

Another thing she'd learned. Hizuru wasn't governed by royalty. However, they had someone sitting on top giving the shots. Hence why Kiyomi Azumabito was called a 'Queen' at times. They did join the Reveries, after all.

And speaking of Kiyomi...

''She is quite... greedy, from what I heard.'' Offer her a deal that gives wealth, and she's likely to accept. Though she shouldn't be taken for a fool either, or the Azumabito Family wouldn't be where they currently were, Ruling over East-Blue economically.

Thinking, and sipping her tea, she fails to notice when someone walks right next to her, and then abruptly takes the seat in front of her.

Her only reaction is eying the person in front of her curiously. He was... average, to say the least. There really was no better way to put it, besides his skin tone being dark but she didn't care about that. Him sitting in the next seat to her isn't as shocking as it should be. But what happens next, is.

''Hey there buddy! Been a while since I last saw you, no?'' he said so quickly Mikasa had to blink at what was going on. Because she's distinctly sure she doesn't remember this guy.

But she has no time to answer because the guy's mouth is just that much faster.

''Look, I'm really sorry I couldn't talk to you sooner, but maybe we can meet up some place else?'' he seems to ask before she was proven wrong when a slip of paper was slipped right at her.

She grabbed it as her eyes read what it had written.

''Meet us at the Azumabito Estates Front Gate tonight at 9 P.M.''

Her eye briefly widened in surprise, before lowering it so she could see the guy. Except he'd vanished. Gone. Though she could see where he'd gone to, she didn't follow.

Instead, she smirked briefly before pocketing the slip of paper and then paying the Bill. Looks like she had a way in after all.

Didn't help her not worry, of course. Now, why should she worry when she's basically invincible? When she's in the weakest Blue sea?

Mostly just her emotions acting up. But, maybe something could go wrong. Or maybe, she worried for nothing.

Well, she knew she'd get some sort of answer... or have to run away afterward. Thankfully, Zeus was fast.

So at 9, she showed up.

The Front Gates were locked, but there were two guards standing there. They didn't move and just stood there.

Then, she sees a figure come out from the Estate as the guards open the gate. And she's half wondering if who's standing in front of him is a kid or not.

''Oi, Brat. Follow me now.''

But the voice isn't that from a child, but of a full-grown man. She's left surprised at that one as she follows.

The Halls are pretty well decorated, and there are quite a bit amount of guards, which is to be expected. Then, they arrived at a front door.

The man who looked significantly smaller than he should, knocked on the door twice. Then, he opened it without waiting for an answer. Mikasa followed suit.

The room she was led to was fairly large, with two windows at the end of the hall where men and women were seated, but it was the middle that was important.

On top of it being under where the chandelier was, there was a round table and sitting on both sides, were couches. From her left, was sitting a middle-aged lady.

Mikasa almost instantly recognized her as Kiyomi Azumabito. Exactly the person she had been looking for.

She turned to look at the arrivals.

''Ah, welcome! We've been expecting you. Please, take a seat!'' Miss Azumabito motioned for the opposite couch, while the man that's smaller than he should be, took a seat on the same couch Kiyomi was on.

She took the seat offered to her. Still, she wasn't sure if she should start the conversation, or let her talk.

Turns out, the small man was the one to speak first.

''You're wondering why we've invited you here.'' it wasn't a question, but a statement. One which Mikasa simply nodded.

''Yes. I was rather surprised when I received this slip of paper out of nowhere.''

''Well, we've heard so much about you.'' Kiyomi's words made it clear they'd already recognized her.

Great.

Yet, Mikasa gave a mostly amused smile.

''I'm more surprised that you invited me here at all, knowing who I am. Then again, that also says just about as much on how poorly I disguised myself.''

The small man scoffed.

''It wasn't even a disguise when your face is notorious in the Grand Line. Add in you have one of the highest bounties, and it wasn't hard to recognize you, even here.''

Her Bounty was in the Billions. Really, many would have heard of her if only because of the high bounty. Adding in she's considered a dangerous pirate and that'd do it.

''Yet you invited me here. So...'' she made her curiosity known, ''Why invite me here?''

Kiyomi gave a smile, ''Well, you see...'' and then, much to her surprise, she could see her drool. A single line of Saliva going out of her lips.

One of her eyes is widened while the other is narrowed at what she's seeing, and the small man (she really should ask his name) gives a disgusted scoff.

''For fucks sake, keep your greed under control!''

Kiyomi seems to realize it as well as she wipes the drool away.

''Ah, forgive me for that. I tend to be a... bit excited, when my greed turns up.'' well, Mikasa's not blaming her for that one, she's a pirate herself but greed... never really was all there, ''But first, tell us what you hide under that wrist of yours.''

At the mention of her bandaged wrist, she laid her hand over it in a protective manner.

''Now why should I do that? I don't exactly see what my bandaged wrist has anything to do with this.''

The small man, which she really should learn his name, grunts in answer.

''Just show it brat. Or else, we'll have to do it the hard way.''

Now, Mikasa's not one to usually answer that with violence. But she felt like laughing because there was absolutely no way the midget could actually force her.

''Haha... very funny, but I'm not believing you in that one.''

Her dry laugh only made the small man, whose name she won't bother learning now, narrow his eyes at her.

Kiyomi, stepped in before this could even devolve.

''Now now, both of you. I do understand why you wouldn't show it, but only for a moment, please? We have been accomodating, after all.''

She had a point. And she thinks about it.

Generally speaking, what's the problem? Nothing. If a problem arises, she can escape easily. If somehow, a fight breaks out, then she can win without a shadow of a doubt.

It's with a sigh she unwraps the Bandage around her wrist for all to see, the Azumabito Seal. Mikasa was looking down at it, and so completely misses the way Kiyomi and the small man react to it.

''I remember how my mother had this Mark etched on my skin before she... left. I never had the time before to even wonder what that was, and it's only now, more than a decade later, that I even bothered to see where this Mark even comes from.''

She really hadn't had the time, or even the want, to even research where this came from. The fact it took her settling down because of her dream to finally begin thinking about it, said a lot about how hectic her lifestyle was for a long while.

When she looks up, she's especially surprised to see Kiyomi's reaction.

Pure relief.

She looks ready to actually stand up and do something, but holds back on it and instead speaks.

''It's been over two decades, or at least, around that amount of time since the daughter of my younger sister vanished alongside her. She left for unknown reasons along with her Child. We later on learned both my sister and her husband had died in an accident.''

They'd... died?

''The mentioned Husband was my cousin.'' the small man informs her. And she realizes that one of them had to have the last name ''Ackerman''

''So... you have...?''

''Yes. I'm Levi Ackerman. And gotta say, brat, that you sure made my life harder considering we share the same surname.''

He grumbled, but Mikasa found herself not caring. Because why should she, when she fought for herself during those past 20 years? She's one of the most feared pirates, and already her project is working, so she's well accomplished, by all means.

But, she can't help but feel slightly guilty at the fact that any of her living relatives likely were affected by her actions. Actions she took because she thought she was alone. Without a family up until she started her project. By herself before she created Prometheus, Zeus and eventually, Nefertiti from her own soul.

Turns out, she did have relatives. And maybe, she should try to at least reconnect.

''Well, I'm...'' but it would be hollow if she said sorry, ''...not exactly sorry?''

He scoffed again, but he had a small amused glint in his eye.

Mikasa however, had to return on track as she addressed Kiyomi.

''So... what exactly happened with my...'' parents? should she consider them as such?

''...relatives.'' she finishes.

''As I said before, they died in an accident. But, to be more specific, they were caught in a crossfire between Kingdoms.'' and that was it. Kiyomi didn't say more. But Levi, sure did.

''Still, we answered your question, but I think it's about time you answered one of ours. Where the hell were you in between your 5th Birthday to now?''

She nodded at that. Might as well explain a bit what happened.

''I'm 26 right now. But, 21 years ago, I was abandonned. I'm not sure if the reason they did was from what I'm thinking or not, but I was in Elbaf for a couple of months. Then... I had to leave due to circumstances I'd rather not delve in. Then, when I turned 6... well, it's about that time my pirating career started.''

It's a miracle she's a relatively normal person, considering how her upbringing turned into from age 6 to now. An entire two decades. Streusen might have influenced her into piracy when they first met, but he at least set her to be relatively normal in terms of personality.

Levi nodded, rather grimly however.

''I do remember a child already having a bounty of 50 Million Berry at a young age. So that was you.''

Mikasa narrows her eyes at him. He seemed slightly to familiar with how he worded it. But, maybe she'd just struck hard enough to be hardly remembered?

''After that, well... you'd know. Joined the Rock's Pirates, and then left when he fell. After that, I continued on my own until I build my own Kingdom in the New World.''

She leaned back in on the couch, taking the bandage and wrapping it up again. Levi and Kiyomi remained silent for a moment.

But it's Mikasa who beat them to it.

''So, how about you now explain to me why you invited me here to begin with? I can already put up a guess or two, but your words will seal it.''

Crossing her arm, one leg up and another down, she waits for her answer. In the end, it's Kiyomi who speaks.

''You, Lady Mikasa, are by all rights, the Ruler of Hizuru. Or more specifically, the next in line should I pass away.''

At that, Mikasa raised an eyebrow.

''You do realize I'm a Pirate? I can't exactly take in a position like that without-''

''Cut the bullshit.'' Levi abruptly cuts her off, ''Remind me, aren't you building up your own little Kingdom?''

Mikasa groaned, ''Those two things are different. At least my Kingdom, I can actually have it defended. But it's in the New World. And Hizuru is in East-blue. If it were to be known...''

''Oh no, nothing so... public.'' Kiyomi corrected her, and now, she got her attention.

''Levi would be right that you can actually take over. You see, I see profit in every opportunity. So long as I gain from it, I don't mind from who or from what.''

Mikasa was now very curious. So, she motioned her to continue. Levi internally scoffed.

''Tch. Relatives indeed.''

''You see. Although we are able to join the Reverie, we aren't quite Royalty. Hence why although technical, it doesn't mean you would gain the 'throne' of Hizuru. And although you'd be next in line, as you said, you are a Pirate. But... it wouldn't stop us from making an Alliance.''

At that, Mikasa gave a nod.

''I see what you mean. But are you sure? I might be an influential Pirate, but if it was found out you made an Alliance with me...''

''Oh, I think I can keep that one under wraps, won't you, Levi?''

Kiyomi eyed him and Levi was reminded of why he really hated his position. Mikasa gave him a curious look.

''Yeah yeah... still doesn't mean I like it,'' he grumbled.

Mikasa gave Kiyomi a look that asked for answers. And, the older woman obliged.

''You see, Levi over here just so happens to work with the World Government.''

She furrowed her eyebrows at that.

''Oh, you work for the World Government?''

That would explain why he seemed familiar with her bounty at that time when she was just 6. Though he didn't look it, he likely was somewhere between 30 to 40. Maybe even older than that.

''Yes. But while I can keep this under wraps, I'm not going to let you off scot-free if we meet out in the open,'' he warns her.

And that's fair. Mikasa nods.

''Oh, no problem there... even though I doubt you'd win.''

Call it cocky, overconfidence or something, but after what she's experienced for the past couple of years in Rocks crew? She's sure it's warranted.

Levi snorts, ''Brat.'' but doesn't say more. Still, if he works for the World Government...

''Would you happen to know why I was...'' abandoned? given up? ''...left behind when I was 5? Actually, did you have a hand in that?''

Considering how the conversation went, she doubts the last part. But, she has to ask and know answers.

Levi's eyes narrow, practically glares at her for that last bit.

''No. I don't. Azumabito and I were left completely surprised when they returned from their 3-year trip without their child.''

Kiyomi nods at that.

''Yes. The explanation they gave us was that you had died during... well, an accident. I didn't pry further to not stir bad memories, but maybe I should have...''

''Would have helped a lot,'' Levi muttered to himself but Mikasa heard it crystal clear.

''So you don't know,'' Mikasa said plainly, trying to hide her disappointment.

''Well...'' Kiyomi said slowly, then turned to look at Levi.

''Considering how your biology is less than normal, -and don't ask me how you developed it, neither side of the family have ever mentioned someone like you being born before. I wouldn't be surprised if they abandoned you because they feared you.'' Levi bluntly said.

Mikasa hung her head down as she gave a disappointed sigh, not even hiding it anymore. Unknown to her, it made both Levi and Kiyomi see something under it.

''That's the same conclusion I came up with.''

Honestly, she can't help but wonder how her life would have turned out if she'd been born normal. Or just... not abandoned for her strength. But, at that point? All useless thought.

But then, Kiyomi asked a question.

''How did you get that scar?''

It caused Mikasa to lay a finger on the small thing that was her scar that was up to her cheek, on the far right. Most of the time, it was hidden well enough behind her hair, but it was shorter now. It must have revealed enough when she hung her head.

''Oh, that? Let's just say I ended up finding someone who could pierce my skin.'' and she left it at that.

The room remained silent then. Before Kiyomi spoke up.

''I'd like for us to exchange our Den-Den Mushi numbers. I don't know how long you are planning to stay here, but I know I won't be here by tomorrow.''

Mikasa briefly blinks, and also knows it's her cue to leave.

''Oh, I see. I can share, just don't give it to anyone else before asking me.''

Kiyomi nods.

''Wonderful!''

Mikasa writes the code from the snail to contact her, briefly eying Levi with a glare that lets him know not to abuse this. Once done...

''It's been so wonderful talking to you, Mikasa! Sadly, I still have work to do. Levi, if you would?''

''Sure,'' he says plainly and Mikasa follows after him, giving a small wave to say goodbye before leaving.

The entire way is full of tension in the air you could cut it. Mikasa really didn't plan on alleviating it, but apparently, Levi does.

''For what it's worth, if I had known you were still out there before you became a Pirate, I'd have looked for you,'' Levi says.

Mikasa doesn't answer. Not knowing what to even say considering how something was slowly beginning to rise after that. A bitter and hollow feeling.

Her parents were dead. Left her behind for reasons unknown, but likely fear. Her power? Or did she have a Hunger Pang she didn't know about? Something she couldn't even control?

She gives an audible sigh as an answer and Levi doesn't speak further until they're at the front gate.

''I should warn you about... someone,'' he says grimly.

''About?''

''Kenny, the Ripper. If you ever meet him... don't let your guard down.''

It's with those ominous words they part ways, Mikasa walking away and planning on just returning to Tottoland now.

Still, it felt... nice? Talking to relatives of hers.

Of course, she knows she's only been approached because of her might. Of her power. And maybe it is cynical.

But when she was a simple girl (she wasn't. No simple girl had her freakish power), there was only Mother Carmel... and Eren, at that small point.

Yet both were gone now. One... well, dead. The other? Split up because they were pirates.

So it was nice to speak with them, even though there was now a bitter feeling of wonder. If she did have returned sooner, would they have abused her power? The fact she's a walking disaster?

She knows Levi at least would have looked for her before she became a Pirate, but then what? Would he have also abused her power for the World Government benefit?

She just... doesn't know. She doesn't know them well enough to confirm or deny it. She could be overthinking, but what if she was right to assume this?

It's only now Mikasa realizes how much more miserable she feels, learning of all this.

Her Information Network grows as time passes, and one day, she researches who this 'Kenny the Ripper' is.

Apparently, some sort of relative of hers. He's got Ackerman as a last name. Go figure.

He's pretty infamous in the Underworld as a hired gun that's willing to do anything, even has some connections himself.

He's even been willing to work with the World Government, from time to time. Anyone who pays got his service.

She doesn't look further and instead acknowledges why Levi told her not to let her guard down if she met him.

But what were the chances?

All Family members, if you have extended members, be it more siblings, cousins, and so on, have favorites. The mother, the father. Grandparents and maybe even Great-Grandparents.

Now, Mikasa knows that she is getting more children. She wants more, and so long she wishes for it, she can keep going.

But right now? She has a favorite son.

And that's Katakuri. Granted, it's once he does grow past 10 years old for reasons not to be mentioned. But he always reminded her of herself and who she was before.

That, and he looks up to her. Always see's her as the perfect mother. As the perfect leader.

He's not the only one to have that opinion, of course.

Now, why would her children look up to her? Well, variety of reasons, truly.

Some look up to her because of her might. Of how untouchable she seemed to be. A force of Nature, some might say.

Others, because of her mind. Of her smarts. She created Tottoland from scratch. Certainly, she didn't do it alone. But what she's reached cannot be ignored, and displays what she's capable of.

But it wasn't untold that they looked up to her, simply because she was their mother. A strong one at that. One that was present. One that was there for them if need be.

Truly, there were enough reasons for why her own children would look up to her.

But at current times. At the times where she had triplets that were but merely 5 years old at the time. The reason was power.

She was bringing the Triplets -Katakuri, Oven, and Daifuku- to another Island for learning purposes. If she wanted them to assume the positions she had in mind, they had to at least visit other Islands outside of Whole Cake Island.

Then, New World Pirates thought it'd be a good idea to mess with her territory. And she didn't exactly want her children to fight.

(She had Devil-Fruits in store if worse came to shove)

So, she handles the threat herself. Eyes narrowed at the ships.

''So they think they can just waltz into my territories. Well, I'll teach them wrong.'' she motions towards the still relatively new Chess Soldier Prototypes.

''Prepare the Canons, and be ready to board the enemy ships. I want everything they have ours!''

Then, she uncrossed her arms as she turned to look at her sons.

''Now, you three-''

''I want to join!''

And her hopes of not getting her sons involved were immediately thrown into the sea. Honestly...

Oven was the one who'd enthusiastically said that.

It's not like they were in full danger. They were children, but they had received her genetics, which was pretty potent, considering what she had from that alone.

Granted, it was a severely washed-down version. Their skin was just tougher than normal and had a higher-than-normal strength. But that was it. They didn't reach her level of invulnerability or inhuman strength.

But, they were safer than most normal children in this situation.

She gave a sigh.

''Oven, what did I tell you?''

He pouted.

''That it was safer to watch?''

Mikasa nodded.

''Yes. And really, would you want to deal with this when you're going to go through some rigorous training?''

That sealed the nail in the coffin. Oven silently nodded as the ship closed in, and then, they fired.

''Now then, time to deal with this.'' and so, Mikasa Ackerman jumped off the ship, and landed on the enemy Pirates Ship with swiftness, almost like it took no effort from her as she lands right on its Bowsprit.

She glared at them all.

''Really now, who thought it was a good idea invading my territory.'' but then, she shrugged, ''Not that it matters now. The sentence is death.''

She could deal with this herself. But her ship is close enough now that some of her men are already jumping on board. So she decides to handle this the old-fashioned way.

''Nefertiti! Turn into a sword''

She cries out, and her scarf springs to life before turning in her weapon, then, she joined the fray.

It's both simple, but long. And Big Mom was mostly letting her men deal with them so she didn't destroy the ship. It's a process that repeats itself as they board all ships. Something her sons watch.

The last of the Pirates have given up by now, and she's holding a sword to the captain's neck.

''Now, why did you think it was a good idea to invade my territory?''

She can tell he's scared, but it's not like that'll gain him any sympathy. Instead of begging, he curses.

''Damn it! Didn't think they'd hit as hard as you did!''

...so he was an idiot?

She leaned her face right in front of the captains, her face at first, impassive.

''You thought it was a good idea to invade an Emperor's territory just like that?''

But that impassiveness, quickly turned into a rather twisted if not outright cruel smirk.

''Well, a shame for you.''

And already, the man felt fear. Ah, too easy.

''Now, a question for all survivors!''

Her booming voice demanded their attention as she leaned away and turned to look at everyone.

''Life or Servitude?''

She'd said this casually as the situation seemed to sink in further to them.

''Well, not like I'm going to let you choose. You already signed your sentence by invading.''

And then, all enemy pirates could feel something come out of them slowly. Their fear grew larger by the second.

''I will put your souls to good use.''

And then, she swung her arm, like she was grabbing them as all of the Souls left the pirate's bodies, their bodies dropping dead while the souls floated in her hand. hen, it vanished into thin air as she addressed her crew.

''Take what's valuable, and burn the rest away!''

Leaving them to work on that, she jumped back onto her flagship. And she realizes it's actually the first time her sons have seen her use her Devil-Fruit.

The reactions of her sons seeing that is mixed. Daifuku is the one to show the most fear out of it. Oven is mixed between awe and fear. And Katakuri?

Actual awe. Like, his eyes were even sparkling. It's the first time she sees that reaction in anyone.

But, she quickly gets out of her surprise.

''And this is a battle against pirates,'' she says and leaves it at that. Her children watch as she gives orders before they depart, back towards their original destination.

It's this day Katakuri begins to look up to his Mother. It's this day, he begins to get a taste of exactly how Big Mom acts.

Admiration is when someone looks up to you.

Mikasa knows how to deal with it from her own children. Katakuri looked up to her, Perospero did so too. Oven and Daifuku. Maria, Rose and Sina too. In fact, all of her children had a certain degree of admiration.

But it gives her mixed feeling when it's with strangers.

Sometimes, her conquests actually made people look up to her. Especially since she always delivers a speech after the conquest. To show she wasn't just a Pirate. That she was more than that.

She shouldn't be surprised some people genuinely admire her for what she does. Who else dared to build something separate from the World Government? And so publicly too.

But at the same time, resentment also builds up in others. Because she kills the opposition, most of the time.

If they don't die by her blade, she takes their lifespan away for her Army of Chess Soldiers to build up.

It's a vicious cycle. And always split.

One side loves her, the other despises her. And honestly, the hate is nothing new. Yet the admiration...

She wonders, how long would it last?

(She doesn't know that she's also made rise for something quite particular in the future...)

Mikasa is slightly amused, the day she see's Katakuri, her second eldest son, begin to imitate her. It was around when he was 10.

Perospero especially comments that he's quite literally trying to act like her. The stoic figure that will never fall. And just be that strong.

She finds herself much less amused when she learns of what happened to Brulee, and exactly why he has that Scarf around his neck.

She wasn't home at the time, so she couldn't have done anything. In fact, she was gone because someone reported to her they'd found a... peculiar thing in their territory. And by the time she was back, Katakuri had already dealt with the ones who did that.

Still, she visited Brulee, who was still recovering but in much better condition.

''Are you alright?''

She's sitting on her bed when she asks, voice soft and just making it clear she was there to reassure her.

''I'm... I'm fine, Mama.''

It's clear to Mikasa that she's trying to be brave. A few days had passed, but that scar would remain.

Apparently, she thought something similar along the line, because she asks a question.

''Am... am I ugly, Mama?''

She doesn't even hesitate in answering.

''Of course not, Brulee. If a single scar made anyone ugly, then I'd have to be included in that.''

Her daughter looked on confused.

''But... you're not ugly.''

In fact, Brulee and several (all of them) Ackerman siblings were of the opinion their mother was the most beautiful woman, ever.

(Somewhere, even maybe in the future, an empress would sneeze)

''Exactly. Look...''

She moved strands of her hair from her right, and Brulee looked on in surprise to see a scar there.

''What?!''

''You have a scar. And so have I. Yet, it doesn't define us, does it?''

Brulee, both felt like she could and couldn't relate. On one hand, Mama had a scar, that didn't even make her look ugly. On the other hand, it was so much smaller compared to... to her own.

Well, those thoughts quickly died down when she went on to hug Brulee.

''So don't worry Brulee, a scar isn't the end.''

Mikasa knows that at least, she'd calmed Brulee somewhat. Next on her list, Katakuri.

The next day, she brings Katakuri to a secluded spot, next to the sea. The waves reached the Sand and Mikasa had taken off her boots and just, let the Waves touch her bare feet.

''What... are we doing here, Mama?'' Katakuri asked. He was still dressed, and still covering his mouth with his scarf.

''Enjoying a bit of peace. Really, you don't need to hide your mouth here. I've seen it, and all of your siblings did so too.''

She turned to look at him while the waves of water washed at her bare feet. Before giving a reassuring smile.

He ends up removing his scarf and following suit as he takes off his boots and soaks his feet in the seawater.

There is only a breeze and the sound of seagulls.

''It... really is relaxing.''

''Told you so!''

A pleasant silence stood in the air as they soaked in the atmosphere before Katakuri spoke.

''Mama. Why... why is it you can act so calm, but be so... so...''

''Monstrous?'' she added for him. Maybe he was bringing that up from the day pirates attacked her? Or was he talking about some other event?

''...yes.''

His mother didn't immediately answer. She had to think up an answer, and properly.

''You know, I didn't start off that way.'' she decides to tell him how she began.

''Huh, really?'' Katakuri could only remember her either being calm, collected, or an absolute monster on the battlefield. It's how he's even begun to look up to her. A dependable figure. He wanted to become that, and especially more so now than ever.

''Yeah. When I was a child, I was honestly a brat. At the same time, I didn't know any better. No self-control, and really, made questionable decisions because I was born strong. Adding in I started my pirate journey at 6, and it affects you in some shape or form.''

Sometimes, it didn't feel like she was born strong. But more often than not, that was the accurate part.

''It's because I began to have crewmates, as I grew older, that I realized I needed to act that way.'' she gave him a knowing look, because that? Paralleled with him right now.

''But I couldn't just act all nice. That was simply impossible because some would try to harm me. So, I decided to... to hurt them. Becomes a monster in their eye. To become a 'devil', so to speak. But...''

She gave a sigh at that, it didn't seem to have fully worked, because her children still had gotten hurt, and in her own territory no less.

''So, that's why I act like I do. I show calmness so I can be relied upon, and act like a monster to others so they fear me. So they don't dare mess with me. And Kindness... well, that's up to your own want.''

He listened at everything, absorbing all of her words into his mind to never forget.

Then, he nodded. And they remained quiet for the minutes to come.

When they were about to leave, Katakuri spoke up again.

''Can we return here at some point?''

She smiled and nodded.

''Of course.''

Later on, she looks in her treasury and stares at the large red block with a language impossible for her to read.

Yet, it was obvious, as to what that was.

A Poneglyph. Such a valuable, yet absolutely useless thing without someone to read it.

And yet, here she had one. A red one at that. And what luck, that she found it in the confines of her own territory.

Maybe she should gather more, so that one day, she can have those translated. But what were the chances of her even finding someone who could read it?

Well, that's a matter for another time. If she found more, then she'd take it. If not, oh well.

Mikasa is turning 35, just done carrying another set of children for her growing family, when her Den-Den Mushi rings.

She of course answers it, even though she's not sure who's calling.

''Yes?''

''Aha! I know for a fact I got the right number this time!''

Some unknown stranger's voice answered through the snail in cheer. And she had absolutely no idea who the hell this guy was.

''...who are you?''

''Nice that you asked, Girlie. You see, I'm a sort of relative of yours. Kenny Ackerman, ring a bell?''

It actually took her a few seconds for it to click. Her Snail imitates her mouth opening.

''The Ripper? Why are you calling me?''

The Snail gave a grin, ''What? Can't I call family once in a while?''

She bluntly answered back, ''This is your first time calling me. And Levi's already called me more than you did.''

''Ah, my poor old heart!'' the snail even imitated Kenny while she just stared at it.

''How about you state your real reason?''

Kenny seemed to completely drop his act as he turned serious, and even slightly... melancholic?

''I was curious. I heard of you a long while ago, when you gained notoriety, and even more when you were a Member of good ol' Rock's crew. Really, I was surprised to learn you'd joined his crew when you already had one formed.''

''You knew him?'' she can't help but ask.

''Sure did. We were... sort of buddies. Well, not that it really matters anymore does it? He's dead. But you, are alive. And have to say, imagine my surprise when I learned of another relative of mine who was still unknown!''

She let him continue talking.

''Really, I was surprised to learn of another Ackerman, and in piracy at 6 of all ages! Didn't think Levi would have allowed that at all, so while I'm here, mind telling me how you landed in that situation?''

Why should she? Kenny was by all means a stranger to her.

''And what makes you think I'll tell you?''

A chortle turned into laughter came out of the Snail as answer.

''Oh, right you are. You don't actually have a reason to tell me! But...'' the snail's face formed into a grin, ''...how about an information exchange? Something just as valuable. You tell me how you became a pirate, and I tell you a bit more about my story, how does that sound?''

She knows for a fact there's a loophole here. But... if he's going to use it, then so can she.

''That... is a rather fair deal.''

''And to make it even better? I'll start.'' Kenny says, much to her surprise. And then, he speaks.

''I started my journey in the Underworld because I was bored. Really, I was a thrill-seeker. So imagine my surprise when I learn my Sister had a son. So, I looked after him for a bit. Still can't believe I acted that way back then.''

She felt anger build up. Hearing how she had yet another relative out there that could have been there when she needed it. But then, she just makes that bit fade away.  Ah, why should she care? It's not like it matters now. And even then, could she have trusted Kenny?

''Oh? You took care of Levi?''

The Snail laughed in answer.

''Sure did. That midget really couldn't do much by himself back then. But look at him now!''

He sounded like a proud dad. Or Grandpa.

''Now, girlie. How about you tell me more about yourself? Only fair, no?''

She gave a sigh but relented.

''What can I say about my life? You already know when I started, and with Streusen as company, I was bound to become a pirate, that I ended up in Rock's crew and I left upon its end. From there on, I built my own kingdom separate from the World Government, had children, and eventually met Levi, another relative I didn't know even existed until that time. Then... well, nothing's changed, even though I had answers. And... that's about it with my life.''

The Snail was eerily silent, but it wasn't like Mikasa minded. Then, Kenny spoke.

''Look, girlie. I'm not going to mince words. In the best case, if I learned you'd existed earlier, I'd have helped you at least get a better grip on things just like I did with Levi. But...'' he paused to put a more dramatic effect.

''I was in North Blue by then, and you'd already started your pirating carrier. Hell, how's business doing?''

She can commend him for sounding so casual even though it's their first time talking. So, she amuses him.

''Oh, business is as good as it can get. My Kingdom is expanding. Really, I can say with pure confidence it'll work really well, in a couple more years.''

''Like the fact, you've already conquered an Island in West and North Blue?''

Now how did he know that? It was recent. And only possible because they'd recently repurposed Marine Ships they'd taken.

''You've got an insider, I imagine?''

''Not me specifically. Let's just say a... colleague of mine, had one, and I decided to learn the latest news with you.''

She nodded at that. And although she enjoyed the talk, she knew it wasn't for that reason.

''Now, how about we get straight to the point? Why did you call? And don't give me that excuse of relative, you already know how I feel about that.''

A grunt, but he gave an answer.

''Well... long story short, do you accept employ?''

Mikasa snorts.

''What, lost your job?''

She could hear another grunt from the Den-Den.

''So to speak. Look, I'm willing to work for you. The abilities of the Ripper have to be of some use for you. Hell, last I checked, you still wished for a better hold in the Underworld, no?''

''Well, yes. I'll admit. But... give me a reason why I should even accept to begin with when I have just as useful people already here?''

The Den-Den Mushi grinned, which said Kenny had some kind of trump card up his sleeve.

''Well, you see... I was so willing to tell you something about Mother Carmel you didn't know about.''

Mikasa's expression furrowed, which transferred over to the Snail.

''What... do you mean by that?''

She was curious. To curious in fact, but could she trust what he said?

''If you don't believe me, go and check if it's accurate or not. Not like it can stay hidden for much longer if you tried. But did you know? Mother Carmel, also known under the Code name of 'Mountain Witch' in the underworld, was a Child Trafficker.''

She's not sure what her facial expression is. Maybe her mouth is hung open? Or maybe, her eyes wide and bloodshot? Or maybe, just a mild look of surprise. It doesn't matter what she looked like, but when the words are processed...

''What the hell do you mean by that?!''

Outbursts out of her are a rare thing indeed, especially because her Conquerors Haki usually went wild due to it. And right now, this man dared to... to insult Mother Carmel like that?!

''Exactly what I said. Go check for yourself afterward if you still don't believe me, but she was a Child Trafficker... at least until she met her end. Still don't know how that happened, but it's confirmed. After all, you have her Devil-Fruit, no?''

Mikasa grits her teeth in sheer anger, and Kenny must be able to see it. But he doesn't mention it.

Oh, to be reminded of one singular mistake. She let her emotions get the best of her, and something must have happened in between because between the Birthday pastry she was eating, and then... the bodies...

Bite Marks. Exact same size as her 6-year-old jaw. All of them passed out from... from something! Oh, and where those she bit those pieces off...

She wants to puke again, being reminded of what she did. But of course, she doesn't, she's stomached worse things by now.

Like the horrible taste of the Devil-Fruit she ate.

Teeth gritted, she forces words out. It comes off as strained.

''And what makes you believe that would be enough for employ in my crew, in my kingdom?''

That grin of his grows tenfold like he knows he's already won.

''The fact I know this, means I know a lot more. That, and I can make sure you actually have a much more solid foothold in the Underworld, permanently. So, girlie, do you accept my employment?'' he asked again.

And for a moment, she feels anger at this. But then, her gritted teeth slowly form and evolve into a grin. Equally ferocious as Kenny's own.

''Very well. Welcome to Tottoland, Kenny.''

Both Ackerman's had a matching grin, from the Snails and behind them. But neither felt the same.

Though Mikasa is more often than not in her territory, she personally conquers Islands to expand her growing Kingdom.

It was bound to happen, that she'd clash against other Pirates who could have held those territories. Or just them exploring said Islands. It was still possible to this day, to be missing Islands.

The one she clashes the most against is Whitebeard and his crew. Be it in person, or by proxy because of his crew.

Although they had known each other at one point, even being friendly while they were in the same crew, they might as well have been strangers now.

Yet, it didn't stop the slight bit of friendliness they shared at times.

It normally follows that routine. But when she's around 39, Whitebeard isn't actually around. Well, he was coming, but until then, she was facing off against his Second Fleet.

(At the time, she didn't know that. The Fleets hadn't been formed properly and well know as of yet)

Which consisted of a... unique individual.

The Island they were on was empty. Actually perfect to build in homes. Or just put a defense outpost for anyone who thinks it's a wise idea invading her.

She was in a makeshift tent while discussing with Sasha (who rarely left on exploration these days, so she enjoyed the time with her best friend while it lasted) while trying to triangulate the Island's position on the map. Quite a sunny day as well.

She'd already chased off a few wild animals, so they were safe... or at least, had been. Because the one on the lookout gave a shout.

''There's a Whitebeard Vessel on the opposite side of the Island!''

At hearing that, she gave a displeased look. Now of all times?!

''Tch. Is it Whitebeard himself or one of his Commanders?''

Her question was met with a brief silence. Before another shout came.

''A commander! But... I have no idea who it is!''

No idea who it was? Then it had to be someone new? Well, not that it really mattered, did it? It wasn't Whitebeard.

''Alright then. Men, with me!''

And she walked to the direction of where that Whitebeard Commander was. It didn't take much longer for them to reach the rushing man, and she could tell he was... foreign.

''Take care of the rest.'' she says and then, raises her hand, ''Nefertiti, transform!''

Nefertiti springs to life as he turns into a sword, and then she charges at the man. At least before she extended her blade behind her.

''Ikoku...''

And she swung right towards the man.

''...Sovereignty!''

Her attack was simplistic by nature. It was a shockwave, but a devastating one as the man knew he had to block, and so he did. Not before being launched away by the force of the attack.

She knows her men are engaging Whitebeards Second Fleet by now, and she continues onwards.

''Prometheus! Zeus!''

She says, and appear they shall. The Cloud and Sun appear next to her before they light up, in a sense. The innocent-looking sun that was Prometheus became an Inferno, and Zeus darkened as Lightning emanated from his cloudy body.

And then, the man came out of wherever he was sent into, weapon still drawn and ready to attack.

And she followed suit as their blades clashed. Her shoulder-length hair flowing behind from the impact's power.

''Now who are you. A new member of whitebeards crew?''

But the man only grinned, ''Oh, I smell a beast!''

And he pushed. And she jumped back all of a sudden, her left arm holding onto Prometheus.

''Take this! Heavenly Fire!''

She swung. Prompting Prometheus to release a wave of fire at the man... who took it. Of course, he went on to block but...

''Is that all you have!'' the man suddenly swung out of the fire to attack her, and she moved Nefertiti to block the attack.

They would end up fighting for a good 4 hours straight before Mikasa had enough.

''Enough!'' she clutched Nefertiti in its strongest blade form, which was basically a seax with a serrated back.

She swung her blade back as the man could briefly tell something seemed to have been done to it, but by then, he couldn't focus on that.

''Ikokka Sovereinty!!!''

And she swung.

Instead of the normally colorless shockwave, the man could tell it had a black color. And his instincts told him he had to block.

And block he did. While he did save him from taking most of the brunt, it did not help him when he was launched away.

He ends up crashing right past any trees and into-

''Huh?''

Something hard. The man initially isn't sure what he landed on until he feels being laid down. And suddenly, he snaps his head up.

''Whitebeard!''

''Well, you really did land in a tough situation, Oden,'' Whitebeard remarked. Behind him was the Moby Dick. Pretty clear he'd jumped off.

''Heh. I was way too curious to see how well she fought, she did not disappoint.''

Whitebeard didn't say more as he looked at where Oden was sent flying from.

''She's coming.''

Right as he said that, the trees burst apart as Big Mom herself flew right through them. Zeus flying at top speed, and Prometheus being in her left hand.

Whitebeard suddenly charged at her and she jumped off Zeus (and Prometheus left her hand) before both of them did something.

Black Lightning seemed to emanate from their weapons, and then, they clashed.

What subsequently happened, was truly something Oden had not expected to see.

Their Weapons weren't touching. The ground around them shook, even cracked from the impact's power. And the sky... well, it was a clear day today.

And both of them glared at each other.

(If there was a small grin, they ignored it)

And then, the clash ended when she disengaged. Landing back on the ground as she looked up at the ever so tall Whitebeard.

''Well well Newgate. It took you longer to get here than I thought.''

''And you sure seemed to be having fun, Ackerman,'' he comments on her fight against Oden.

''Well join in on the fun then, Newgate. You nearly missed the party!'' upon her final comment, they both attacked each other again.

Really, Oden decided to let them do. He knew he currently wasn't strong enough, though he would be in the future, he swears!

A complete 5 hours passed before Big Mom was forced to consider retreating. Even then, she did not want to give up that Island.

Under normal circumstances, she should have been on better footing, but she might have overdone it against Oden.

Then she realizes Whitebeard is likely not conquering the Island and decides retreating is her best option.

''I'll have to retreat. But I swear if you're not gone from this Island by my return, I will hunt you away!''

She jumps up, and Zeus flies in her way as she lands on him.

''Here's a parting gift from me! Indra!''

Zeus fires lightning bolts upon them, and then, she retreats. She doubts Newgate would follow her now.

Upon flying away, she sat down on Zeus.

''And it really looked promising as well...'' she gave a sigh, ''No point in it, if Newgate conquers this Island, I'll have to take it by force.''

She was fortunate Newgate had no interest in conquering that Island, to begin with. When she does return there, it's empty, besides the signs of the previous battles having taken place.

A fun fact. Her clashes against Whitebeard always make her stronger. At one point, she didn't know how to use Advanced Conquerors. At one point, she'd never truly bothered to learn more than what she had.

Really, he'd acted as a Big Brother during their time with Rocks. And even now, he's indirectly helping her improve further.

For better or for worse, she's still developing even at this stage.

Political Marriages don't truly become a thing from the Ackerman family until Kiyomi of all people proposes to her the idea during her call.

''Political Marriage?''

''Yes. You have several children, some going to reach of age eventually, no?''

Well... yes, there was Perospero. He was... 17 now. Also one who was heavily interested in her Kingdom's growing politics. She'd need to see how far he's learned soon.

''I mean, yes but...''

''I'm proposing you this because your Kingdom could benefit from it. Image what you could gain from those? Resources you couldn't before? Maybe important Land. Mikasa, you have unimaginable power, I won't deny that. But if you want it to truly work, you need other Kingdom's to make it all work properly. Do you honestly think you can keep going the way you are?''

She hates the fact that's true.

They've expanded really well. But if she wanted Tottoland to be independent enough of the World Government, then she needed it to be big, with enough manpower to keep the Marines out.

With enough Agents to snuff out the Cipher Pol's own discretion.

With enough connections to keep her Kingdom running that was unrelated to them.

Kiyomi's proposition should be easy. She knows some other Kings and Queens are displeased with the World Government, even befriended some of their families. What happens when suddenly, there's a new place that worked better?

Adding in political Marriages to tie them to her and...

''I'll consider it.'' is all she says as the call quickly ends. Then, she thinks.

And thinking about Marriages, she remembers the one and only wedding she's ever actually attended.

Sasha and Niccolo's. They'd basically done so the moment they could, and Whole Cake Island was a safe place. She'd even attended as the Maid of Honor in that instance.

It was a joyous day for everyone involved. And thinking about it again, she does feel longing about the idea of Marriage. Ironic, considering the number of children she has, but she never really loved any of her Children's Fathers. So marrying any of them never happened.

The first one died because of a drunken night. The second was part of a deal. The third and so on, followed the same pattern, in some shape or form.

There's only one person who she thinks about but quickly squashes it down. It was of no use thinking of that anymore.

In the end, she talks about it to her children during family Dinner, two weeks later. It's always been a messy affair, considering everyone's table manners were different.

(Mikasa briefly wanted to just discard that, because it felt so much easier to just take what she wants and be done with it, but someone had to act with proper manners for someone to follow)

''If any of you were given a political marriage proposal, would any of you accept?''

Considering they are the ones getting married, it was only fair she asks who even wanted it.

Surprisingly enough, a fair amount of them are actually willing so long as they have... compatibility. Actually fit with them.

She can work with that, once she actually gets her mind into it. And then, she makes research.

In the end, a year later, Perospero is married to someone else. And over the years, Political marriages become a part of the Ackerman family.

It's not always the best. But, it could be worse.

''Now, Perospero. Tell me how Tottoland functions.''

They were both having Tea time.

Perospero took a sip before answering her.

''As of the moment, Tottoland consists of 31 Islands. Still growing in number, all of them specialize in one type of food and/or ingredients to provide. For example, your personal Assistant, or Lady-in-waiting, Sasha Braus along with her Husband, Niccolo Braus, govern over one Island. Their Island is Meat Island.''

When she'd proposed Sasha to govern that Island, she'd honestly been joking... slightly. Although really, she should have expected her to jump at the chance of governing an Island revolving around meat. Either that or Potato Island and she knows all too well how Sasha would react to that one.

''Now, in theory. If more Islands were to be added, how would we need to change the structure?'' she questioned him.

''Well, not considering we might just have Islands to live on with no theme whatsoever, then they would need Islands to relay... things. Lick.''

Mikasa nods, ''You'd be right. And that's exactly what I do have in mind once more Islands are added. Not everything can be relayed to Whole Cake Island either due to distance or simply because not all able-bodied are there.''

She more or less knew what to do to make it work.

''Well, this would conclude your lesson today. And Perospero? Good job.'' offering him a smile, she drank her tea.

What she really should have expected, but didn't, was his question. ''Can I ask you something, Mama?''

She laid down the cup.

''Sure.''

''Why... did you even plan all of this?''

She gives him a look, not of surprise, but of curiosity. Why does he ask now?

''It started off as a simple dream. A sort of utopia, so to speak. Even childish, for that matter as I realized it would be... a bit impossible for this perfect dreamland to happen. So, instead, I changed it into something else that worked just as well. An entire Kingdom out of the World Governments reach.''

She began to smile as she spoke.

''Because if I succeed? It shows that anyone else could if they put in the effort. That the World Government? Isn't almighty.''

And she's succeeding. Who knows what else she might have started along with that? Well, it mattered little right now.

''Wouldn't it mean the World Government is trying to take you down the most?''

''Well... no, actually.'' or at least, for now, ''So far, the World Government sees me only as a Pirate. An Emperor of the Sea, yes, but just that. Nothing that could fully give them trouble. Hence, why I'm preparing for the day where they do take me seriously.''

She's building up an army for another reason, besides manpower. She's building up an entire Information Network for a reason.

She's preparing for that day. It's not an if, but a when.

Right now, things were as calm as they could get. Rookie pirates tried to attack her, they either died, were captured and souls taken or joined her.

Navy Attacks have lowered significantly, for now.

She was profiting to tighten her grip on anything she still needed, like the Underworld. As helpful as Kenny was being (which meant half of the time, he was an absolute pain) in that regard, she had to personally deal with that one.

She would need to contact some of them again. And, for a brief moment, she wonders...

A 6-year-old Mikasa was easy to mold.

Sure, she was more or less normal. But... being a pirate since 6? It would affect your mentality.

In a normal life, or even one where she'd followed that day with a normal life, her way to see things would have changed.

In any other world, she would never consider using the Underworld.

But here? She does. She uses everything it gives her to her full advantage. Because why shouldn't she?

They have their uses. They are Emperors in their own right. So...

Why not use them?

That brief wonder quickly fades away as she focuses back on Perospero. The smile she gave was teasing.

''Well, don't let me hold you with your wife. It wouldn't do if I held you back for your... ah, activities.'' she teased.

''Mama!''

Skirmishes with other Pirates were bound to happen.

Mikasa had Tottoland well defended.

And when she was out, she was always in for quite a fight against the last few Big-name Pirates. Whitebeard, Roger, and ect... she had all fought them during this Era.

(Eren was the sole exception)

What she hadn't expected, even though she really should have, was the sheer boldness of Roger going in her territory.

Even Whitebeard stayed clear from her land that was already conquered specifically because she had an army and just about everything she needed to defend it well.

They both run into each other (in her own castle! How did he get here?!). It's a small moment where both can't quite comprehend what they're watching. What the other is doing here...

They stare at each other. Blink. And only then do they attack each other. Both of their blades are already imbued with Conquerors Haki as Roger exclaims an answer.

''Perfect timing, Mikasa! Tell me where your Poneglyph is!''

Mikasa gritted her teeth in answer to that. Unbothered by the fact they were fighting, but more bothered by something else...

''Like hell I am! And how did you sneak in?!''

They both push, and neither leave the other a chance to gain the advantage as their Conquerors clash. While Roger seems to be having fun, Mikasa isn't as she scowls.

Then, she puts an end to it when she abruptly ends the clash. Both of their weapons are still coated in Haki as she comes to a slow realization.

''...where is the rest of your crew?''

Roger's smile seems to widen even more when she realizes that.

''Wouldn't you like to know.''

So he wants to play that game, huh?

''Alright then. I'll rip the answers out of you!''

And they both attack each other again. The ensuing battle was a tense one that would shake Whole Cake Chateau, except it also led to Roger succeeding in the one endeavor that he hadn't even planned.

Buy time for his crewmates to reach the Poneglyph.

And a friendly reminder Roger hadn't planned that. He'd really thought he could get answers as to where it was from Big Mom herself. It ended up in failure.

Mikasa wasn't the same girl that had fought him for a moment at God Valley. Wasn't the same one who'd so arrogantly thought couldn't damage her enough.

(That scar on her face, up her cheek and under her eyes said otherwise)

Yet, he still ends up holding up long enough to just... win it. And then, he runs away. Well, more like one of his crewmates drags him away after they found him. Of course she chases after them.

And it's gradually harder for them to escape. Especially once she gets Zeus, Prometheus and Nefertiti to cooperate.

Hence, she has them do a combination attack which should not have been as hard to do as it was.

(She needs to have a serious talk with Zeus after this)

''Maser Ho!!!''

All 3 Homies and Big Mom herself cry out as what's proceeded to be fired out, might as well be a laser beam.

Roger was absolutely overjoyed to see what she'd just shot. His crew, much less when they saw it was heading straight for them. It even pierced one of them right through because of how unexpected it was.

Sadly, not anyone of true importance, but still. And then, they're surrounded.

''Give it up Roger. Whatever scheme you've concocted won't work.''

Most of them seem weirdly close to the window.

Roger ends up giving that grin as answer.

''You know, your mirror world is a really neat place!''

And almost immediately, dread forms on her face at one realization. But then, she could see Brulee being forced through a window (from the mirror world!) and the Roger Pirates chasing after.

She charges at them, but it was to late already. And instead, she breaks the mirror when it collides with her fist. Snapping her head at her men, she gave an order.

''Find them!''

If she'd been more cool-headed, Mikasa would have realized that their way out likely was in an Island that was in the outskirts.

Not even 3 hours later, Brulee came back to her, wailing her eyes out. And right now, Mikasa didn't find it in herself to scold her for she'd been caught and used for her Devil-Fruit powers.

Later on, she sees the Roger Pirates actually took nothing. Everything was still there. She's not sure if it's because they felt nice, or just didn't have the time in taking anything of value.

But... well, a copy of her Poneglyph was made for sure. Or else, they wouldn't have retreated.

Soon enough, Tottoland has enough power that even the World Government couldn't take it down with ease.

Then, she announces it to the whole World (Morgans was of great help there). A whole new Kingdom, completely separate from the current Government. Free of slavery. Free of the Celestial Dragons.

All it took them? Pay 2 months of your lifespan every year. Or join Tottolands army. Either worked. And then, live like life was normal.

And it certainly was. And overnight? her 34 Islands grows to nearly 50. Thankfully, her reputation in the New World was that of a fair person, even though she has laid waste and destruction on other Islands.

The best part to her was that the Marines couldn't do anything. Oh, they could invade, sure. But so many losses? Unacceptable.

All of this? It happens when Mikasa is 40.

From there onward, the Government still tried to bring her down. Make no mistake, she fought back and hard. And they learned it the hard way.

But they were stubborn, hence, why it's a near-constant thing in Islands at the outer edges of her territories.

Although as time passes, it gradually dies down as the Marines have to focus on more than just her. Add in the New World isn't Marine Territory, and that happens.

She doesn't realize until years later, that she brewed some other conflicts without knowing.

The Newspaper falls down like rain, on that day.

Mikasa is 44 when she receives the newspaper. When it's announced to the world. And she wasn't even in her territory, in fact, she had just finished another battle against the Marines when she received it.

GOLD ROGER, KING OF THE PIRATES!!!

It's bolded, it's big, but more importantly, this day changed the world. Because now? There was a conqueror.

''Still, Gold?'' she mused to herself at repeating it, ''They really do want to keep the fact he's a D. secret, don't they?''

And then, in that same year, Roger was to be executed. Caught by the Marines, specifically, Garp.

Yeah, like Mikasa bought that. She's not saying Garp is weak, but after so long? Garp alone couldn't have actually done it, and yet, the credit went to him?

Still, the first and only pirate King to exist was going to die in less than a year. A shame, to be honest. But not like she cared. She had more important things to actually deal with.

Except, as she'd learn it later on, he got some last words.

''My treasure? If you want it, you can have it! Find it! I left everything this world has to offer there!''

And then, the Golden Age of Piracy started.

And it was a pain, that's what.

Rookie Pirates. Newbies. Dumbasses. Overconfident pricks. All types of Pirates who thought they could be big shots.

Most of them died at the entrance of her Kingdom. Not even able to step foot inside.

Smarter ones, actually claimed they wanted citizenship in her Kingdom. And her policy did say welcome everyone who wished it. However, over the years, it became a less effective idea. But even when it did work, they didn't reach her either.

The ones who did reach her... met a swift demise. Inside or outside her Kingdom. Because for all the mind, if you don't have the strength in some shape or form, then you're doomed.

It's a cycle that repeats itself for two complete decades. An annoyance, but a small one. Because nothing got in her way.

However, at times? There were pirates who wanted to join her. And she welcomes them with open arms. All other types of races slowly joined her Kingdom due to its relatively good reputation.

Fishmen. Minks and so on.

Really, not all is bad. And her dream is coming to fulfillment. A Kingdom with all races... or as many she could, when the Giants hated her.

When the Lunarians were all but extinct.

Where the people of the sky never descended.

But that? Mattered little. She had everything else, and her dream? Truly, it felt like it was coming to fruition.

When Mikasa hears of the Revolutionary Army being in her territory, she grows suspicious. But there is no actual proof they are there.

When she heard that one of its members has been sighted? When wants them gone. During that time, she's carrying her last Children. She's 51 and will give Birth when she's 52.

Hence, she relays those orders to Perospero by locking down the Island where that member was spotted. But never acts herself because she wants that pregnancy to pass on successfully.

At 52, her last Children are born. Another set of twins. And so, the Ackerman Family consists of 51 Children. And from that point on, she stops bearing Children.

Two days later, the Revolutionary spies, which were more than she'd expected, were brought to her Throne room by Mont-D'Or's book. There they were, behind a Jail cell, bloody already.

''Now... why did any of you think it was a good idea to infiltrate my Kingdom?''

She's sitting on her Throne when she asks that question, sounding half-lazy. Simply because she already can put a guess. The interrogation hadn't gone as well as she'd expected, but...

She decided to take matters into her own hands.

They don't speak. And instead, give silence as an answer. Then, she stands up from her Throne and walks right in front of the Cells.

''We can make it easy, you know? But then again, you likely heard that as well from the other who interrogated you.'' it's not a question, but a fact.

They are bloodied from the beatings, from the piercing of their body. But they aren't even close to death. The one who did this made it on purpose, once they refused to answer the nice way.

Then, she looked at the Chess Soldier next to her.

''Open the Cell. I know what to do.''

And her Soldier did as told, opening the Cage as Big Mom stepped inside.

''Now, you likely believe I have to keep you alive, yes?'' she said slowly, deliberately so, ''But... killing you works just as well. After all, whatever Dragon is thinking by sending his Revolutionaries here...''

She stands in front of one of them and taps their fingernails.

''...has to be worth it to him. He'll send others here again at some point. And I'm willing to wait, so...''

Suddenly, she pinches at one of the nails and pulls.

One nail gone, joining it, a scream of pain.

''If by the end, when I plucked both of your nails, you still don't speak... then you're all dead. No chances out, and that's it for you two.''

Of course, the death sentence was taking their Soul. And they knew it. But, until all 19 other nails from both were taken...

Well, it's when the next nail is taken they finally speak. Or at least, the female does.

''Ok, Ok! Stop! We'll tell you why we're here!''

Her finger is inches away from the man's next nail.

''Oh? Well isn't that a surprise. You were so tight-lipped from the beatings and torture I thought you wouldn't speak, even if I removed any of your nails. I haven't even started with you yet.''

Her finger retracts as she stands upright, eyes boring straight at the blond woman.

''Well, the reason doesn't matter. So now, spill. Why did you think it was a good idea to infiltrate my kingdom?''

''Don't tell her!'' the man suddenly screams, only to be met with a kick from Mikasa to the face, who hadn't even turned when she'd landed the blow.

''You stay quiet.''

The woman seems to briefly hesitate, before speaking.

''Our leader... wanted us to Infiltrate Tottoland to find supporters to our causes. It's easier here than it's out there.''

Ah, so Dragon's purpose was to recruit in her territory. Smart. A lot of people here were not exactly happy with the World Government. It's why they're here at all.

''I will admit, a smart move. But is that his only reason?''

If that truly was the only reason, which she heavily doubted, then it was less problematic than she'd anticipated.

The woman looks down and shakes her head.

''No. Our leader...''

The man suddenly tries to get free. A useless try, and even if he'd succeeded, ultimately negligible. He can't get free from the pin.

''...also wishes to try and take over your territories in secret.''

Mikasa remained silent. Eerily so as she heard of what she was being told. So, Dragon was well and truly daring?

She could tell his goal ultimately, was one singular government. Not a series of separate ones ruling over separate land. The Revolutionary Army was now forced to work on 2 grounds instead of just one.

''In secret, you say?'' Big Mom asks, amusement filling her tone, ''Well, I do believe that is now useless.''

She leaned down at the woman. She was holding back her breath, and even closed her eyes, expecting death now that she was of no use.

Instead, she felt her cheeks being cupped. And it left the woman surprised, as her eyes opened up again.

Big Mom, was giving her a kind smile as her cheeks were cupped.

''You have my thanks. And to show I mean it...''

She stopped cupping her cheeks, and raised her hand over her face, before grabbing the pin holding her hands and pulling it out of the wall. Effectively freeing her.

''You are free to go.''

She extends her hand towards the Bars, showing she means what said says. The woman was free to go.

She stared in surprise, not knowing what to truly say, or even do for that matter.

''What about... him?''

She has to ask. Because the woman has been given a golden opportunity to get out and away. But what about her companion?

''Oh, him?'' and the woman realizes she'd voiced that last bit out loud.

''Well, he wasn't as willing, so he doesn't get to go free.''

And she feels her heart drop. She opens her mouth, but suddenly, Big Mom grabs her should as they both walk out.

''Don't worry about him... just take that freedom of yours.''

Although Big Mom says that, both know it's not making her budge. Still, she'd tried.

''Or, if you want to stay and see his fate... then that's also fine. But really, I do recommend you take that freedom of yours now.''

And she doesn't budge. She doesn't say a thing before Big Mom simply steps next to the man, and kneels down.

''I think you can already guess your fate, no?'' she says, a cold smile creeping up her features.

The man can only remain silent now. He's a loyal one, she can tell. So, she doesn't say much more but a simple question.

''Life or Truth?''

And Soul Pocus goes into effect. The mans' very Soul leaked out of his body as it showed he clearly was fearful of her.

That cold smile turns into one showing teeth before one of her hands grabs ahold of his Soul. Then, she pulls and the man is soulless. He died on the spot as the man's soul is stored inside of her.

Kneeling back up, she turned behind to look at the woman, who hadn't moved from her spot. Maybe she wished to help but knew she could do nothing. Or maybe, she was just as scared.

''Come now, let's get out.''

She's the first to leave. And the woman, second. And Mikasa knows the woman is more stuck in her own head right now.

''Well, you are free to go,'' she repeats.

But she doesn't move. Mikasa is slightly annoyed that it feels like she's getting ignored, but remains calm about that.

''...are you even listening?'' she asks.

She reacts in a way that does show that yes, she is in fact listening. But she still doesn't answer. Mikasa gave an annoyed huff.

''Are you going to tell me why you act that way?''

She didn't actually expect an answer, considering she had been casual now. Turns out, that made her open up.

''I... might not be welcomed back...''

''Oh?''

''I... I don't know...''

Mikasa stares for a moment. Her mind slowly realized exactly what that meant.

''Oh! Are the Revolutionaries going to think you're a traitor?''

The woman only nods. And Mikasa thinks.

It does make sense, even though she doesn't know how the Revolutionaries operate when they have a Traitor or someone who can't keep their mouth shut. The woman seems to know, but she doubts she'll tell more right now.

''Well... how about I give you an offer?''

At that, the woman looks up slightly in surprise.

''An... offer?''

She nods her head, ''Yes. If the Revolutionaries won't welcome you back... well, I could always use someone of your caliber.''

And she means it. She can see when someone has potential for Tottoland, and who was she to refuse someone who might not have anywhere else to go.

''We can speak further of this if you agree of course. But... if you do... how about you tell me your name?''

The woman opens her mouth and closes it. Only to open it again and truly answer, while sealing her fate.

''Louise... my name's Louise.''

It's a fun little thing, to explain what Devil-Fruits awakening even is to her Children once she mentions to them there is a stage further to improve. It's a gradual thing she does over the years to all of her children.

Paramecia's are... rather complex, due to the sheer diversity those Devil-Fruits give. And that doesn't include that depending on the user, it varies on when it awakens.

Some Devil-Fruits awakenings are more straightforward. Katakuri for example, is rather simple but heavily expands his abilities by giving variety. They're also easier to actually figure out compared to some others, hence why he figured it out when he was a young Adult.

Others are a bit more complex. Like Ovens or even Daifuku's. Both have Devil-Fruit that don't quite give the impression they could do the same.

There are also those that seem obvious, but also make you question if it would go that way. Like Crackers and Mont-d'Or's Devil-Fruits.

And then, there's herself and her Soru Soru no Mi.

Age by all technicalities doesn't matter in terms of awakening. If you figure it out and know the concept exists, chances are you could awaken when you're a Teenager if you had the fruit long enough.

Still, it heavily irritates Mikasa how she has had that Fruit since 6 years old, and even today, past half a century, she still hasn't successfully figured out how to awaken her Devil-Fruit.

She takes pleasure in knowing neither Whitebeard nor Eren ever awakened their own Fruits, as far as she knew.

But even then, the irritation doesn't leave her, ever. Her Devil-Fruit as is works just fine. That doesn't mean she wants it to stay that way. Who knows what an awakened Version of her Fruit does...

Oh well, she'll just have to keep trying. It's not like she needs it to awaken, but it never hurts to have more.

Mikasa was 59 when something absolutely unexpected happened. And she genuinely isn't sure how it happened.

But, a Giant showed up at her castle. Not alone, of course, and the one's accompanying him showing disdain at her place, but she's left absolutely gobsmacked Giants showed up!

''What is the reason for your visit?'' she ends up saying, with the monotonous voice she usually gives to strangers.

One of them is already mad at her from facial expression alone, but the important one doesn't even show anything that's disdain. Instead, he speaks politely.

''Where is Lola?''

She cocks an eyebrow at his question, not that he'd be able to see it clearly from the size difference.

''She's present. But I'd like to know why you wish to see my daughter.''

Why go so far, even go inside Tottoland, to see Lola?

''It's simple. I love her.''

Mikasa blinked once. Then, twice. Then her eyes widened in absolute shock.

''What?'' but her surprise ends up turning into one, single flat word. And the Giants don't take too kindly to that... besides the one claiming to love Lola.

''It's as I said. And I wish to see her to properly propose to her.''

But... when the hell did he even see her? In fact, why didn't Lola ever mention him?

She motions towards one of her Chess Soldiers, ''Bring Lola here.'' and leaves it at that. The Chess Piece moves and now, it's time to wait.

It was tense, especially when Prometheus and Zeus (who had been sleeping upstairs in their shared room) arrived back down from their naps.

''What the hell did we miss?''

Prometheus' question seemed to put the Giants more on edge. All of them, this time. They were not used to how Tottoland functioned.

But Zeus, the usually laziest one of them, absolutely made her proud. He yawned before also adding a comment.

''Didn't they hate us enough they never wanted to see us, Mama? Did they finally drop it?''

She'd pat him in the head, but she has to remain polite. So instead, she gives him the least scolding look she could muster.

''Shush now Zeus, they're guests.''

But outside of Loki (who actually grinned at Zeus, might just be fascinated by a talking cloud), none of the giants really liked what Zeus said.

Except one of the Giants, who looked old for that matter, gave an angered answer.

''Why you little... we're gracing you with our presence after the crimes you've committed! Be more grateful.''

Prometheus was next. And he snorted.

''Oh, really? And remind me who's territory you're in right now? Mamas. Maybe you should be grateful to us, no?''

Really, she just loves how her own homies can be so in synch with her whenever it's needed. They were born from her soul, so it made sense, but personality and mind never really transferred.

The very 'civil' talk was ended soon after when Lola walked in the room. And although Lola was briefly confused who Loki was, she recognized him.

Which also confirmed it was love at first sight.

And then, he proposed to her. Actually did so as well. Even gave her a flower.

Mikasa is conflicted, while Big Mom absolutely wishes to turn this into a political marriage. And ultimately? She wishes to fix up relationships with Elbaf now that she can.

So, for once? Big Mom forces a political marriage onto one of her children.

Lola was turning 17 soon. And the Prince is all the happier.

When Sasha learns of this...

''What the hell Mikasa!''

She punches her. Without Haki.

Sasha of course flinches away in pain after her hand comes into contact with her face while Mikasa took the punch without even reacting.

''Hello to you too, Sasha.''

Just another Tuesday...

Sasha blows air around her right hand while addressing her.

''Really? Forcing an arranged marriage on Lola like that? What were you thinking?''

She did expect Sasha not to really approve of her decision, and she herself still isn't completely glad about the decision.

But she wasn't a nation ruler just because she was soft.

''That I can finally mend relationships with Elbaf. Lola doesn't even need to actually stay with the Giant Prince, just long enough to at least mend relations. If they do genuinely end up loving each other, then even better.''

And she means it. It's not unheard of that political marriages started as loveless, but then genuinely turned into one of love. Maybe it would happen with Lola.

''Are you listening to yourself Mikasa?! You're basically... you're using your own daughter for what may not even happen!''

Mikasa's rather soft demeanor completely changes as she glares at Sasha.

''And what do you expect me to do then, Sasha? Mending relations with Elbaf is practically impossible as it is, but suddenly, their Prince wants to Marry one of my daughters? It's too much of a good opportunity for me not to try and take it.''

Sasha gives an equally heated glare back. Years with Mikasa would make her absolutely ignore her own glares.

''Are you even listening to yourself? You're that desperate to mend relations with Giants that are just obstinate in hating you?'' she asks, ''Listen, Mikasa. I know you're smart, at least usually, but right now? This has got to be your stupidest decision... ever. The Giants of Elbaf are not going to change their opinion of you.''

It's not like Mikasa disagrees with what Sasha said. But... but if she succeeded here and now, then she would be able to gradually mend relations in the future.

She can live for a while, thanks to her Devil-Fruit.

You may be able to pass down hatred with words, but people form their own opinion. She's hated because she killed one giant. And also hated because she accidentally... killed Mother Carmel.

But with Lola marrying Prince Loki... that was her Golden Opportunity. Her chance to set things right.

Mikasa's own glare begins softening as she thinks of that, and then she shook her head.

''Maybe not... but if I don't, then I'll never know.''

She wanted to mend relationships with Elbaf. And she finally had a chance to get it. She had to try.

Oh, how she wishes she'd have listened to Sasha, that day.

A couple of hours later, and Mikasa has a private talk with Lola.

''Look, Lola... you're going to marry Prince Loki.'' she goes straight to the point, not wanting to mince words.

''There is no backing out now, even if you want to. But, I'll be honest. I'm entrusting you with what very well could be the future of Tottolands relations with Elbaf.''

Elbaf is in general, a topic rarely brought up. Hence why she has to explain to Lola why this is so important. She deserves that much, at least.

They kept on talking, but Mikasa was confident enough that Lola understood the situation.

And then, the day of the Tea Party happens.

It's a good day. And it started as such. But then, some news reached her.

''Mama! We can't find Lola!?''

''What?!''

Lola... had left. Just like that. At the worst possible time as well...

Worse, they just couldn't find her, making it clear she'd left Whole Cake Island already. And today of all days, merely an hour away from the Wedding.

Sasha is with her when the news reach them. And while Mikasa's eyes show blankness as her mind still processes what very well might soon happen...

Sasha looks in panic.

''Prince Loki is not going to be happy.''

And that was an understatement. And not just Loki, but all Giants...

This... this might make her own reputation worse than before, and that was saying something.

She needed to salvage this now!

''Um...''

And her mind could not come up with anything but that dumb answer. There was no actual way to salvage the situation because it happened on the day of the Tea Party.

(She wasn't considering Chiffon taking Lola's place, that was just asking for more chaos than she didn't need)

''We... we might need to tell the Truth there, Mikasa,'' Sasha says honestly.

''I know.'' but what happened then? Would the Prince really just walk away like that?

Tottoland is not in danger in the long run against Elbaf. That's a simple fact. But considering how they were armed and currently present...

''Sasha. Try to inform Prince Loki there might be a delay. We're going to look on ahead for Lola, if she isn't found in an hour... then... then just tell them the Marriage can't get through.''

Sasha simply nods, accepting those orders and moving up very quickly. Meanwhile, Mikasa grabs ahold of the transponder snail.

''Listen. We need to locate Lola, and I want every men available looking for her!''

An hour passes... and no sign of Lola. She'd either really thought ahead (which implied a lot, and Mikasa wasn't sure on how to feel about that) or had left earlier than anyone had expected.

Turns out, it's the former. Because Pudding comes to her during the end of the hour to tell her exactly what she dreaded.

''Lola left because she didn't want to get married.''

Absolutely fucking great Lola! Just... just great...

She closes her eyes shut and scowls, before opening them again and making them die down.

''Pudding, go join your Siblings. I-''

Then, the castle shook. Both mother and daughter looked up in surprise at the fact it felt like it came from the...

''Oh no!''

Mikasa was faster in reacting, but Pudding was following her behind to the best of her capabilities. Thankfully, both were only a level lower so they arrived quickly (Pudding had a few minutes delay)

What Mikasa saw, would forever stay in her memories. Forever haunting her.

Because she'd seen the action be done. Because she saw it happen.

The Giant Sword that came down. The fact she hadn't instilled that Rule further because the Giants were VIPs here in this case...

(A mistake she would never, ever repeat in her entire life)

...it caused Sasha's death.

Struck down while she was defenseless. No Haki up or anything, and she was just mercilessly struck down while trying to keep the situation under control.

And Mikasa saw the deed be done by the Prince as well.

Her eyes widened in utter shock as the Giant's gaze turned at her.

''This is what happens when you lie to us, Big Mom!''

It wasn't the Prince who said it. It was one of the other guests...

''After what you did before, with your rampage and Carmel's death, and now you do this?!''

Those old, old fools... daring to... to spout all of this...

Pudding had by now arrived, about to ask why she was just standing at the entrance when she also saw it. She always had keen eyesight.

The Ackerman Family would have acted by now, if not because Big Mom herself had arrived on the scene. And while the Giants seemed relatively unafraid... everyone else just knew what was going to happen.

Mikasa Ackerman was losing her cool, and this was a bad thing.

Still in surprise, she began to breathe faster and faster as she hyperventilated. Just, seeing Sasha's death body was bringing back memories she'd wished to leave buried.

Then, she released a burst on Conquerors Haki without even thinking. Just instinct taking over for a moment.

That single burst already knocked out anyone who wasn't ready.

Then, her breathing came back to normal, and she glared at the Giants. She gritted her teeth as her Conquerors became wilder.

''Nefertiti! Turn into a sword!''

She ordered, and her scarf complied. Springing to life as he turned into his strongest form, a Seax. She clenched the handle hard when it came to her hands.

She took a step, and her Conquerors went even stronger. And by now, the Giants finally realized exactly the problem they'd also landed on.

''You think...'' she said with disdain, ''You think you can kill someone I care about and get away with it?!''

That scream she gave went wild. Her Conquerors Haki gave such coldness it felt like they were burning. It was suffocating how it kept emanating the whole Roof now.

''To hell with you all! You're all dead men walking!''

With one final scream, she charged at them.

None of them lived.

The Tea Party ends while the Big Mom Pirates and Officials clean up the place. The Giant's bodies are disposed of... somewhat.

Mikasa felt particularly mad, and so, decided that she didn't care about relations with Elbaf anymore. Not when the Prince killed someone very much dear to her.

She sent the heads back to Elbaf as a gift that signified her own end of ever dealing with them.

Unnecessary? Perhaps. But she didn't care anymore.

And then... her emotions catch up to her for Sasha's funeral. It's a miracle and a curse Sasha was the only casualty.

She's given a fitting burial. Because anything less and it would feel like they never were grateful for all her own hard work she'd given. Without her, Mikasa truly isn't sure how far they'd have gone.

People grieve, of course. She does as well, and she barely contains her own tears.

But the one she truly pities is Niccolo. Sasha's husband.

She honestly should have waited for her own convalescences, because it gives him the wrong impression, and with his current emotional state...

''It's your fault she's dead! If you'd listened to her and never even entertained the idea of a Political Marriage, she'd... she'd still be... she'd still be alive!''

It stings. It hurts. In general, she feels like lashing back at him.

Instead, she takes it. Lashing out against Niccolo would be plain wrong to her, and... he's right to. She shouldn't have even entertained that thought.

(And so, Mikasa begins to blame Lola for this. A childish part of her absolutely despises Lola's own actions causing this mess)

Niccolo is made to leave, even though she doesn't give the order. He clearly needs some time alone too.

Hours after Sasha's burial, Mikasa is still standing in front of the Grave. She'd sent her Children away.

She wouldn't be surprised if some returned to her because it's been hours and she shouldn't stay out in this rain.

Yet, she does. The only ones who could hear what she'd say were her Homies.

''Sasha... you were right,'' she admits. She doesn't feel shame admitting that. Instead, she feels shame for not having thought of that before this happened.

''I... never should have even tried. They hate me! A single mistake that was out of my own control at the time! I didn't even know Hunger Pangs were a thing, but I was widely hated long before I could even fix any of that. And then Carmel... someone I trusted... and she turned out to be someone I couldn't even trust...''

She's venting, and the rain is the perfect cover to hide her own tears now.

''So, when I had the chance to finally fix something that I thought was previously out of my control... I jumped at the opportunity. But... I was wrong. Oh, so so wrong...''

She sniffs, the rain falling down even harder.

''You... you were always my voice of reason, huh?'' her voice cracks.

''I...'' the sniffs again and then just cries. Her legs hit the ground as she practically kneels in front of Sasha's grave.

''I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry I didn't listen to you! I wish I did. I wish... I wish you were alive...''

Who knows how long she'd been there. But it's when one of her Children comes that she snaps out of it. And then... she reverts back to before.

The next day, Lola is branded a criminal and traitor, to be put to death if she ever steps into Tottoland.

Chiffon meanwhile, suffers from neglect.

Big Mom can't bring herself to care, not when the wound of Sasha's death is fresh in her mind. Not when she keeps seeing her face every time, not when feels so violent. Or the fact she begins to see other people haunt her dreams.

And her children, didn't bring themselves to do so. Instead, the one's that cared for Chiffon took care of her, while others who had been just as hurt completely ignored her.

Then, the topic of who should replace Sasha comes up, and she refuses to accept anyone. Absolutely no one could replace her.

It should have been a clear message, really.

But then, someone comes to her Throne Room.

''Lady Mikasa.''

It's Louise.

''What is it?''

Louise looks briefly hesitant. But then, she gains some more courage and speaks up.

''I wish to take the empty position left behind by Sasha Braus.''

And that changes the air itself. The pleasant and welcoming tone of Mikasa Ackerman changed into something much more chilling.

''And why do you wish for that?''

Her voice is icy. But to Louise's credit, she doesn't flinch from it.

''Because you need someone to take the position Lady Mikasa. Braus was exceptional in the position, as someone who was your right-hand man, but you can't keep going alone.''

Sasha's position was of Second-in-command, in a sense at least. Considering how Sasha was the first mate as well, she'd always had the most authority besides Mikasa herself.

Which meant that by all means, whatever reached Mikasa normally reached Sasha too. A position she'd less and less had time for with her own family. And it was fine. Mikasa handled things well enough.

But now, someone needed to take her position.

She hates to admit it, but she does need help. And she can't always rely on her children who have to deal with their own Islands and keep them running.

Reluctantly, she gave Louise a chance.

''Fine. Consider this your Trial run. If in a month, you do well enough, you get to keep the position until you retire.''

Louise positively beamed at the words. And immediately, she went to work.

A month passes (during that time, Mikasa and Niccolo both talked and just... apologized to each other), and Mikasa admits Louise did a good enough job. So, she gets to stay. But, she'll never be able to replace Sasha...

From 59 onward, Weddings are severely more limited and supervised. Tea Parties however, keep going at a relatively normal pace.

(There is a new picture added to the Table)

Levi Ackerman was killed in a battle against the Red-Hair Pirates 12 Years ago, while he was keeping watch of a certain convoy.

However, Mikasa only learns of his death at the Hands of Red-Hair a year after that, when she's 57.

Killed on Duty, from the sound of it. She's not sure from what, or why, but Levi had fought Red-Hair, at the time, not an Emperor.

She's actually talking to Kenny about the News. Now just an Old man who's enjoying his retirement. He hadn't known either.

''Ah, damn... looks like old age caught up to him, huh?''

It sure did. Red-Hair Shanks was... at the time, someone who didn't have the power of an Emperor. He was getting close but wasn't quite there yet.

But Levi... was old. He had 23 years of advance on her, and someone in their 70s could begin to feel age catching up to them. His Haki had grown weaker, and he couldn't perform the 6 Powers as well anymore.

It made sense he'd soon die, with him still in active duty. But...

''It sure did. Looks like shortie... Levi... drew the short end of the stick.''

They both laughed, for that moment. Afterward however...

''I think I'm going to miss him...'' she says honestly. You wouldn't believe so, considering she only spoke to Levi through Transponder Snails, but she did see him as family. Even though they were on opposite sides.

Even though it sometimes felt like there was a strain between them. But... she learned to appreciate Family. Sasha's death just... still hit hard.

''Same there, girlie. Same there...''

A few years later, Kenny Ackerman would die in the middle of one last, successful work. He hadn't wanted to die doing nothing, so Mikasa had given him one last mission.

He died happy, as far as she knew.

And so, the Ackerman Family line now revolved solely around Mikasa, and her Children.

The entire war of the summit is something Mikasa barely pays attention to. Why should she?

It doesn't involve her in the least.

At least until Whitebeard confirms the One Piece exists. Until he declares it to the world.

Because suddenly, the Golden Age of Piracy was reignited. And suddenly, there's another onslaught of Pirates. It's bad enough the World Government is trying to bring her Kingdom down, but adding in Pirates, be it actually dangerous or just fools...

Well, they aren't hard. But the Marines see an opportunity when they do. And they go to hit hard.

Big Mom is on top yet again, but she knows her ranks need to be bolstered at this point. It's not like she hasn't lost men herself.

So, she takes even more souls. She might even be going overboard against her enemies, but numbers always work. And... she tires of this. She tires of the Marines and Pirates and just any idiots always attacking her Kingdom.

So, she's extra brutal. Extra hoarding and just... going overboard on everything related to that.

That, and she has a majority of her fleet constantly around the edge of her Kingdom so expansion can keep going. She has 200+ Islands, and expansion is always needed.

The western portion of the New World is under her control.

Ironically enough, a Northern portion of the New World is under Eren's control. It meant that traveling through was rather hard for anyone not affiliated with them.

It also meant they had border skirmishes as well due to that, but it was severely toned down.

Overall, it all goes well. And it goes even better when Fishman Island asks for her help.

She didn't even need to propose it. Her reputation alone made them go to her, to ask for help when Whitebeard died.

Because Red-Hair wasn't known for being very territorial, Blackbeard was still new, and Yeager had to be the most brutal amongst them.

It didn't take much consideration who to ask for help.

And so, Fishman Island was under her control. Convenient that she had a straight line of Islands that led close enough to the Red Line, and left them with a good enough traveling path to make the deal work.

And mighty useful for her information network, to keep watch of all newcomer Pirates that went through that path. To keep her informed, just in case.

In addition, the Fishmen and Merfolk also end up providers of Seafood. Some of her Islands did the same thing.

It is surprisingly easy, to convince King Neptune of that. Likely was he wanted that protection to last. She didn't blame him.

And so, 2 years passed by as Big Mom's Monarchy, simply grew further and further.

(She willfully ignores what else the Newspaper says, because Mikasa, doesn't want to think of the past anymore. Some information in there is useless to her, and others... maybe she pays attention but decides not to think much of. Instead, she wants to focus on the future)

Whole Cake Chateau receive some expansions, during those 2 years. For one, her Throne Room had changed in shape. She'd given it more of a... well, unique look, but she wasn't going in detail.

For another, she'd changed her attire. And also had waist-length hair now.

Facial-wise, she'd added clip-on earrings. Held down from the clip is a Golden chain where an ornamental Queen's chess piece symbol dangles at the bottom.

She'd completely given up on her previous blouse, and instead now wore a black turtleneck. Under that, she wore a simple shirt.

She'd changed from the black pants to White Jeans and wore what seemed to be heeled Boots that reached over her ankle.

And now, sitting in her Throne Room, Big Mom was allowed to simply think.

She's 68 now. And yet, thanks to her Devil-Fruit, she's been able to expand her lifespan, and subsequently, elongate the time it would take to grow older.

So instead of looking in her 60's, she still looks like she's around 25 or so. Maybe 30, but not past that. Her Body also acts like her physical age.

It's actually quite a blessing to her.

It gives her a much easier time to fight, with a younger body. Helps she won't have to deal with the problems aging causes for a long while.

Still, she also knows that the Age of Piracy has been reignited, with Whitebeard's death.

Blackbeard was now recognized as an Emperor, but... well, he really wasn't much of a threat right now. Maybe never would be even with Whitebeards Devil-Fruit.

If the Devil-Fruit alone was the danger of Whitebeard, then Big Mom or Yeager would have been considered the strongest long ago. They who never let time weaken them.

She doesn't know if it's because of Eren's Devil-Fruit, the Azure Dragon or not, but his wanted posters don't show him to be aging at a normal rate. In fact, he seems to be in the same situation as her.

Slow aging.

Maybe she should research it if only to know for sure. It had been years since she had that fruit in her possession. Or maybe, Eren just had really good genetics to still look young.

Unexpectedly, her door opens as one of her Chess Soldiers barges in.

''Mama! There's a call for you of utmost urgency!'' it briefly salutes before rushing towards her to hand the Snail.

''Oh?'' now she was curious. She dismissed the Chess Soldier before laying the Snail on her Armrest, leaning her back against her throne before answering.

''Now, who is it that wishes to talk to me?''

''You must be Big Mom then?'' a man's voice answers her back. The features of the snail changed to show he had a thin black mustache that spiked up.

''Why yes. But it isn't polite to not answer me. Who are you?''

''Vinsmoke Judge. And I have contacted you with a proposition.''

Internally, Mikasa gave a look of surprise. She'd heard of Germa 66, and subsequently the Vinsmoke family.

Royalty with no set land. Previous rulers of North Blue for 66 days. And the fact they had mastered one aspect of science. Cloning.

Each of their soldiers had absolute loyalty and would die for their Leader without hesitation. Granted, it's what she'd heard, but it wouldn't take too much to confirm or deny it. Or even look up further.

Oh, and they still had a seat at the Reverie too. Which meant what he was calling her for, had to be of quite an importance. But what held her interest was Germa's Scientifical prowess.

''That proposition being?''

''An arranged Marriage.''

Ohoho! If Mikasa acted more like Kiyomi (who'd recently died too), she'd have actually salivated. But no, she instead kept an impassive look, even though internally, she was very interested in how this could turn out.

''Oh? An arranged marriage? What do you expect to gain from our families union, and what would I gain in return.''

She goes straight to the point. She didn't know Judge, but she expects him to want to be straightforward.

She's right.

''We both gain something out of this arranged marriage. I wish to conquer North Blue, but I need men. More than just what I can afford. And I know you wouldn't be against all the territory North Blue gives.''

Ah, so he made his research. Smart.

''I am willing to share what we have, but you in return have to share what you have. I specifically desire the Islands you have under your control in North-Blue, as initial sharing.''

He made his intention clear. He wants North Blue. All of it. And wasn't that tempting?

''I can accept those conditions. But once North-Blue is conquered, we will require further negotiation as to how to manage one-fourth of this planet, once you conquer it with both of our manpower.''

Territory-wise, Mikasa had a pretty sizeable amount. 200+ Islands and still growing would do that.

Her reach, her Island, her Government, spread farther than just the New World. West Blue and North Blue were perfectly reachable to her, hence how she had access to the Islands lining up close to the Calm Belt, ever since they'd... repurposed stolen Marine Ships.

East and South Blue, alongside the Paradise section of the Grand-Line, were harder to reach, but since she got Fishman Island as her territory? So, so much easier. Which meant she could set up her territories better.

And since Judge wanted the North Blue territories...

Well, the deal was fine by her. He wanted to Conquer North Blue, and she'd have access to all of that land once conquered? Fine by her. More could simply never hurt.

''That is fine. Further negotiation will be needed later on.''

(Judge has to know everyone who married into the family ended up serving under Big Mom. You could negotiate with her, but ultimately, she was on top)

''Very well then Judge. I accept.''

Judge's Snail smiled at that.

''Now however, comes an important question. Out of your 4 children, who will be the one to marry one of my children?''

There, he remained briefly silent. Maybe he hadn't expected her to know that little bit of information.

''I have a fifth son. I want him to be the one to marry.''

She needed more information. Something she'd need to do right after this. She knew the basics, but she needed more inside information. Or at least know who that fifth son was.

''And what happened to that fifth son?''

''He has... gone astray. But I'm confident I can have him marry whoever the groom may be.''

Gone astray. A bastard, perhaps? Or just someone who didn't fit in the Vinsmokes?

''Give me a name.''

Judge stays weirdly quiet before giving that name.

''Sanji.''

Hmm... now where has she heard that name?

''I will require to check his background, however astray it is. And of course, find one of my daughters who is willing to marry. But, if all goes well, the Marriage will happen.''

The Snail smiles at that. Looks like Judge can barely keep his joy contained.

''I see. My thanks, Big Mom. You will not regret it.''

''I certainly hope so.'' she hides her own joy.

''Now, I will call you again once I've made arrangements. Until then...'' she ends the call.

She leans back against her seat and gives an exhale. Then, she smiles.

''What luck! Mamamamama!''

She was just handed a golden opportunity to gain Germa's tech. Just perfect.

Taking ahold of her Transponder Snail, she dialed a number.

When it answered, the Chess Soldier behind it answered as respectfully as ever.

''What is your command, Mama?''

''I want you to gather as much information on the Germa 66 as you can. Everything you learn can be of advantage to me. Background, general behavior, transactions in the Underworld and so on.''

''Yes, Mama.''

Big Mom smiles once the call ends.

If all went right, then her army would be amongst the strongest. The only thing that could overpower them were the Giants, but they rarely went outside of Elbaf. And...

Well, not that it mattered. Elbaf was a thing of the past that she gladly left to rot in her memories. Instead, she focused back on the present.

Oh, she felt like a child now with how excited she was getting! Knowing what she could soon gain if she did it right.

She just needed to make sure it worked. And this time, there was no slipping away.

Notes:

So... what do I even say to this?

The Mikasa in this AU is clearly different than the Canon one, as it should be. Canon!Mikasa never quite displayed anything that could give the impression she could have managed... well, anything related to Tottoland.

But considering how a part of her is basically Charlotte Linlin (Elbaf and so on pretty much happens as Linlin did, cannibalism although minor still happens), it works well enough, I'd say. Although her love of sweets and the fact she still has a childish side is merely a mark left behind by Linlin.

Though I think I just enjoyed writing the family moments. Always wondered how well of a Parent Mikasa would be, and while she isn't exactly perfect here, it's a huge step up from Linlin.

Still, it feels like I could have done more with this, like the last bit with the conversation between Judge and Mikasa, but for now, that's it. Maybe I'll come back to edit things if need be, but I'm leaving it as-is for now.

Hope you enjoyed this. Next chapter, we're going to see Eren's side of things. Let's see exactly how Eren rules as the Captain of the Animal Kingdom Pirates.

Chapter 2: Governor-General: Eren Yeager

Notes:

And here comes Eren's chapter today, the day Episode 12 of Season 4 part 2 is released. I think it's a good time to release it, no? I focused heavily on Mikasa in the previous chapter, so now it's Eren's turn to get to shine.

Eren Yeager, the Destroyer... what is his goal?

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Eren Yeager, was an apprentice Pirate on Rocks D. Xebecs crew. He was quite attached to a few people in there who ended up being forcefully joining them.

Mikasa and Sasha were a pair already, with a pre-existing crew, when they were forced to join. But he doesn't truly begin anything with either of them until Eren actually remembers that Mikasa was the girl he'd once saved, when they were but mere children.

Jean and Marco were also a pair with a working pirate crew, when they were forced to join. However, they had more of a rivalry going on even at the start.

The fact that Jean resembled a horse was a blessing in disguise, considering him calling Jean 'Horseface' was how their friendship started at all. Him being called Suicidal bastard on the other hand... well, who knew he'd miss that?

Armin actually joined in the same way Eren did. That being, he'd been a civilian before joining. Rocks saw as much potential in him as he had in Eren.

And then, there were the 3 traitors... Reiner. Bertholdt. And Annie.

Back then, they had no idea that the World Government and the Marines had sent those 3 teenagers to act as spies. To keep watch. To make sure on the opportune day, they'd fall apart.

Until then? They'd shared laughs and friendship. At least that small group.

There were other Pirates. Edward Newgate. Shiki. Shakky. Captain John. You name it. So many of them had importance in some shape or form.

But Gods Valley is where it all falls apart. And how could he ever forget that day?

Treason right and left as they realized they were doomed. If infighting wasn't a problem, then it was Gol D. Roger and Monkey D. Garp themselves and their crews that were the problem.

In the end, both were the reasons the Rocks Pirates fell that day.

But, it also was the reason Eren finally started his own crew. Many who'd joined Rocks already had their own crews by the time they joined, like Mikasa or Jean. But he and Armin hadn't.

And Armin never would be able to even make his own decision now. Death had done it for him.

And Eren's own start is a rocky one.

He'd been able to form a complete crew already thanks to all the people experimented on in Punk Hazard. And they'd even gotten a ship -and more further down the line- from the docks.

But after that split up from Mikasa, he just wasn't sure on what to do.

He had a sort of plan, but it was less that and more of an idea. An idea that only became a thing at all, sometime before he even was a PIrate.

And that had all started when he learned.

Years ago, when his father was still alive, Grisha Yeager had once gotten a Private conversation with him.

''Eren, we need to talk.''

It had been around the time when his mother, Carla, had died. The cause of death was, even to this day, completely unknown to Eren. But he had always suspected his Father has had some suspicion, but never actually told him.

And then, it mattered little after what he'd learned, of a piece of history that was forgotten, and what happened afterward.

Someone must have told them, or learned of it, because a month later, his Father dies of an 'illness'.

Yeah, right. Eren doesn't believe a single word of that. His father was one of the best doctors there was, and one single illness killed him? Better luck telling him he'd become suicidal.

Zeke isn't there at their Father's funeral. He knows they had a... rocky relationship since Dad remarried. But he had expected him to show up because he'd died. And because Grisha still cared for Zeke.

Apparently, it wasn't reciprocated.

Or, he was just too busy with work as a Marine. Which might also be the case. And with no idea on how to even handle his own future...

Well, Zeke ends up taking care of that situation when he does come and promptly takes him to become a Marine.

All of this? Happens when Eren's 8 years old. His idea is in mind, but it's never actually implemented because even that idea is but a mere speck of dust. Nothing noteworthy at the time.

Eren didn't actually protest. Because at the time, he'd wanted to explore. See the world.

And he got to do it!

Except as he grew older, as he grew closer to officially joining the Marines, Eren gradually didn't want to.

It was... tasteless. Eren never thought the Marines were perfect, neither did Zeke, but the fact it's... bad, leaves a lot to be desired.

Honestly, if the Marines were less corrupt, if they could actually enact justice without being held back, then he might not have ever considered what could would happen.

And what happens next, is due to one single man.

His escape, is in a random alleyway. Eren's just thinking when he hears footsteps from someone behind him, which prompts him to turn around.

And immediately, he can tell the man's a Pirate.

''Well, you look displeased as all hell.'' the man commented almost immediately after looking at his face.

''What makes you say that?'' he tries to defend himself, but his face says it all.

''Those eyes of yours. Constantly burning with ambition. Really, why are you with the Marines when they're more likely to snuff it out?''

He wanted to say he wasn't. Because really, he hadn't joined officially yet. But, when prompted...

''Mostly because I had no other choice.''

''Ah, but you see boy, there is always a choice.'' the man says, and Eren's eyes narrow.

''Who even are you?''

''Me?'' he gives off a smile that gives confidence, ''The Future Ruler of this world, boy. Rocks D. Xebec.''

Eren takes a step back at his words. Xebec was an infamous Pirate and he, was a Marine.

But he ignores his surprise, and speaks on.

''Tell me, do you really want to be a Marine? Those eyes of yours tell me an entire story. On how you could be something so much greater, if you simply ditched the Marines.''

Rocks is perfectly content on keeping going, even though Eren was silent.

''I can see that you won't be able to be restrained. Your very being hungers for something! And I can tell you don't like the Marines. Or maybe, it's the World Government as a whole? Well, that one doesn't matter in the slightest. But are you willing to let them dictate you, when it's something you don't want to do?''

And Xebec finally stops talking. And Eren just thinks.

He's got a point. Why should he join the Marines when he doesn't even like it? Even less the World Government.

Zeke's life is set. He's even likely to become the Future Fleet Admiral, if he's left more time to grow.

But Eren's? It's not set in stone. He can still decide what he wants. He can... choose. Be the master of his own choice. Be free.

And at that moment, Eren makes a decision. But Xebec can see it in his eyes. Burning with ambition.

''Tell me boy, how about you join my Pirate Crew? All types of strong people will be under my command. Grow strong alongside them, and witness with me as I conquer this world! And if you don't like it... well, grow strong enough to usurp me!''

It doesn't take much more for Eren to come to a decision.

Eren is 12 when he joins the Rocks Pirates as an Apprentice under Rocks.

Not even two months later, Mikasa is forced to join the Crew, alongside what crew she'd already build up.

The rest... well, is known. Yet Eren can't help but be bitter about it. It's that day at God Valley everything goes downhill.

He admits, the Rocks Pirates weren't the most unified group. Only Rocks kept them stuck together.

But the number of treasons... so many had left them.

The treasons hadn't started right away. Jean, aka horseface who sadly didn't have a horse Devil-Fruit, had been the one to keep the situation tight enough in the situation while Captain Rocks was fighting Roger.

But then, Jean was killed by a Roger crewmate. And all of a sudden, it all falls down like a stack of cards.

Treasons left and right. Backstabbers and running away. Forget Rogers Crew and Garp, they were undoing themselves.

Connie ends up being backstabbed by Shakky, that absolute bitch.

Reiner, Annie and Bertholdt finally go on to backstab them as well, taking away some other's lives...

And Armin... he dies by Garp's hands.

Eren of course fought him, but back then, he just wasn't strong enough. And then he finds himself in a situation where he's sure he'll die.

That is until Mikasa came to him with that Devil-Fruit. Uo Uo No Mi, Model: Seiyu. A Mythological Zoan Devil-Fruit.

If it wasn't because of the situation at hand, and what happened afterward, he swears he'd have asked Mikasa how she got her hands on such a rare and powerful fruit. One which gave him the edge he'd needed.

But he never did. Not when he was caught, and not when they separated. And now, he'd likely never get answers.

Eren wonders, if Mikasa looks back at that day with Regret or not. But, knowing her? She's likely focusing on the present and future instead of the past. She always did give off that impression to him, during those 7 years.

So, he focuses back on the present. That being, the meeting with his second in command.

''What the hell are you wearing?''

Eren can't help but stare at what King's wearing. It's the most... covering thing he's ever witnessed. And spiked. Lots of spikes.

King just stares.

''It hides my face.''

''But it... it...''

Eren actually doesn't know the word, or what to even say, but it feels like it's at the tip of his tongue!

Instead, Eren only gives a tired exhale.

''I don't even know what I'm looking at.''

''A perfect disguise.''

The fact King says this with a straight face, and without looking the least bit ashamed is what makes Eren even more stunned. He ignores it.

Instead, he looks at the map of the New World.

''Anyway, we're here...'' he taps his finger on said Island, and then pointed at another Island, ''And we need to reach here. Last I checked, there was a research facility, and I don't know about you, but I don't really want to leave anyone there for experimentation.''

He knows King agrees. In fact, his entire crew was likely to agree. Considering Punk Hazard... well, no one would say no to more crewmates and putting a wrench in the cog.

So, they headed there.

And he can't help but give an annoyed scowl when looking at King who's still growing. If they were about the same size when the crew started, then now they sure aren't.

''Tch. Lunarian Genes and their size...''

(Why does he feel he can relate to someone now?)

The guy's still a teenager, so it makes sense he'd grow. But still...

''What can I say Lord Eren? You drew the short end of the stick.''

...did he just dare?

Eren outright laughed at that one.

''If it wasn't because I find that funny, I'd kick you right now!''

He can't see King's facial expression due to the mask, but he can bet he's hiding some kind of mirth. When Eren can calm down, he clears his throat.

''Anyway, you know what to do.''

And make he does. If there's one thing he can absolutely respect King, is the fact he puts quite a bit of art in his firepower.

The first time he'd turned into his Azure Dragon, King had almost immediately decided he needed to make his flames look like him. Why? Because it made his attacks look even more terrifying and on that, Eren could agree.

Still, King reserved it towards his higher degree of fire which might as well have been Magma. And he'd just used it on the facility they were raiding.

Imagine his surprise when he hears a very familiar cry.

''EREN!!!''

And then, his back being hit by some sort of heavy projectile. He stumbles forward but isn't particularly hurt, then he snaps his head behind to see...

''Zeke!''

His older half-brother, standing in his own Hybrid Form of an ape, was standing atop a hill. His Marine justice coat missing, from the looks of it. And he realized Zeke's own observation Haki was still better than his.

''Little Brother, I was wondering where the hell you were! Raiding a World Government research facility, really?!''

Eren completely ignored his words, and shouted just as loudly back.

''What the hell are you doing here?!''

''To capture you of course!''

And the Brothers glare at each other.

Well, until Eren gives an order, ''Keep raiding the place! I'm dealing with Zeke.''

Eren wonders for a moment if he should get close-ranged. But then he remembers that his Zoan was a Dragon of all things. Largely surpassing an Ape.

So, he transforms.

As an Azure Dragon, Eren is large. Maybe the largest Zoan ever for that matter, and he had considerable firepower with its base powers.

In his complete state, he looks down at Zeke. And see's him visibly shrinking back in surprise. An expected reaction, considering how outgunned Zeke was.

Until he wasn't.

Eren hadn't actually seen Zeke much, since he'd left at Age 12. It really showed how estranged the Half-Brothers were to begin with.

So imagine his surprise when he suddenly see's Zeke jump. Eren hadn't even been able to attack and then he was suddenly grappled somewhere around the... around his dragon body before being thrown into the ground.

Zeke had missed the Ocean by a small distance.

The Earth shook from the impact as Eren was momentarily dazed, before deciding that while it had it's advantages, against someone who could reach him, his Dragon Body was currently something Eren just wasn't used to.

So, he reverted back to normal.

He groaned as well.

''Damn. Gonna need more practice with that first before deciding to be a big target.''

And then, his observation Haki kicked in and flipped over just in time to dodge an incoming volley of projectiles.

He glared towards Zeke, who was at a relatively safe distance. However, and much to his surprise, Zeke reverted back to his human state instead of staying in Hybrid.

That didn't stop him from blasting himself towards Eren. And Eren for his own part used his Armament Haki on both his arms to defend himself.

(A fun fact. Eren didn't have a weapon at the time yet. At least, not a main one)

He took the punch, even though his feet grinded into the very ground, Eren wasn't hurt.

He'd assumed it was because of his Armament Haki, which was rather advanced.

Zeke however seemed to be of another opinion once his feet touched the ground. His eyes were narrowed behind his glasses.

And then, they fought.

Except that it became obvious for Both Eren and Zeke that the former wasn't taking any damage, much to the Brother's surprise.

''How...''

Zeke knew for a fact Eren didn't follow the same case as Ackerman. She was infamous enough as is with the Marines just because of how untouchable she was.

Then... how?

Eren himself looked on in surprise, but wasn't about to ask now with this golden opportunity.

He attacked and landed a solid enough punch to stun Zeke and was about to follow up when suddenly, a shower of fire rained down on Zeke. Eren reflexively jumped back and out of the shower of fire before King landed next to him.

''Lord Eren. I believe it's about time we retreat. We've finished.''

Though Eren gave a sign he'd heard him, his eyes only watched where Zeke was.

Body completely coated in Haki, he took the shower of fire like it was nothing.

''Yes, that would be wise.''

The Beast Pirates would in the future, be a threat. But as of right now, no matter the Devil-Fruit or Race you were from, it wasn't enough.

They retreated while losing 2 ships to Zeke who shot Cannonballs at them stronger than Cannon would ever have dreamed.

Well, things couldn't get worse. Now, could it?

2 days would pass before they resumed another raid on another facility. And there, they find a... guy.

''Mwahahaha! Did you think you could stop me?!''

A... rather fat guy, was attacking the facility they had planned on raiding. And he's trying to put it nicely, but his figure is quite literally round.

Eren honestly can't help but stare, because he doesn't remember anyone else having that shape. King meanwhile, also stares. But his seems more... of shock, compared to Eren's own questioning look.

In the end, it's the... round guy who begins the conversation when he notices them, surrounded by Marine bodies while the entrance is on fire.

''Hey, what are you doing here?!''

It's only then their stares finish at they're snapped back in reality.

''We could ask the same thing as you!'' Eren hotly, and totally smartly, replied. He totally wasn't caught off guard by the sudden questioning.

Sometimes, King wondered how Eren could act like a child when he was the older one of the two.

''Hey, I'm the one who asked the question first!''

And of course, that guy had to enable it. Who was the captain again?

''Well maybe you should answer why you're here then, since you were there first!''

The guy pauses... and then laughs.

''Mwahaha! Sure kid. But isn't it obvious, I'm raiding this place!''

And he leaves it at that. King himself is very much wondering what he should do. They had planned on raiding that lab as well so...

''Lord Eren. What are we to do?''

The men are still behind them, so they have to act and do something soon. Eren for his part, scratches the back of his head.

''You're not going to share, I assume?''

''Of course not! I need it all!''

''Sorry to say, we need it as well. So... we're taking it by force! Men, after him!''

And a part of his crew, charges at the man. What proceeds to soon happen, leaves both Eren and King (though the latter will deny it later on) in surprise, if not outright shock.

The man transforms. Already going for his Zoan's hybrid form, which was a Brachiosaurus.

But what makes it more surprising, is the way his body acts. Because besides the change of shape, it's now Eren realizes that there's more than just that arm.

His tail extends. His neck extends. And swiping his tail, he already crushes a few members of his crew in one strike.

And his one organic arm holds a sword, a Dao sword. And Eren realizes this is not going to be easy.

King takes a step in to act, but Eren suddenly raises one of his arms up.

''Wait.''

And King stops, looking at him in mild surprise. Eren answers his unasked question.

''I'll deal with him myself. In fact, it will be perfect practice for my own Hybrid form,'' he says as his body already begin's to shift.

''Hey guys, step aside! I'll deal with him in person!''

He gives his order, and the rest of his crew moves aside while Queen watched as Eren undergoes his own Hybrid transformation.

''Oh, another fellow Zoan user?'' the man remarks as Eren finished his transformation.

He's grown taller, for one. His 183cm changed to 383cm. Granted, it's not going to match the rather ridiculous size the man has, which looked to be him being twice as tall, or even the fact King is still growing and likely to surpass him in size, but he is taller.

Blue scales cover his body, aside from the torso and stomach and a part of his neck. However, he's grown horns that match exactly the one's in his full state.

And then, Eren stares. And then, acts.

Yet the man reacts. And blocks his Kanabo strike.

''Not bad kid. But it's not going to be enou-'' Eren shut him up by smacking his tail up his face.

He stumbles back.

''Why you...!'' he goes on to attack. But Eren doesn't even move. Instead, he takes the slash... a slash that doesn't do anything to him. Oh, and it broke his Dao Sword

''W-What?!'' the man knew Zoan's, especially the types with Durability like Dinosaurs, had tough skin. But this was new to him.

It broke on contact.

''How... what kind of Devil-Fruit did you get?!''

His surprise causes Eren to give a grin.

''Something that surpasses yours. You can't damage me you...'' and he pauses. What the hell was he even supposed to call him?

''It's-''

Aha! He knows what to call him!

''...cyborg clown thing...''

The man just stares at him.

Eren shouldn't be feeling as proud as he currently is, especially because it's so childish, but he really can't help it.

''...I'm going to hit you now.''

''You can try.''

And they resumed fighting.

(When it's looked back upon, that their first meeting was through a fight, Queen would laugh. And if Eren was drunk, then he'd also laugh along)

In the end, both sides ended their fight due to sheer frustration.

The man could not land a solid enough blow on Eren, and Eren himself was more testing out how well he fought in Hybrid.

Pretty well, all things considered. Even then however, Eren really had enough of the man's attempts. Constantly being hit midway through his own action was annoying as hell.

They'd both disengaged by then, the fat man forced to rely on his fists while Eren had stopped using Haki. Both just had enough right then and there.

''This is going nowhere.''

It's Eren who states that, but the fat man who actually stops fighting.

''You and I can't bring this to an end. So how about this! You let me get the loot!''

Is he fucking serious?

''Are you serious right now?'' King ends up voicing his thoughts in a less crude manner.

''Hey, first come, first served!''

Eren just... doesn't know if he should even entertain the guy or not.

But at the same time, it's not like they actually need this place alone. They can raid other places no problem. And considering it's only Eren who actually fought, minus a few others but they're injured.

''You know what? Fine. You can take it! But if we see you again, we'll take it by force!''

When Eren had said that, he'd fully expected not to see the guy again. As Queen would later on say and laugh, it was like the World just found it to hilarious to not have them meet up more.

Because it's not just one more time, or 2 more times. It's a complete 10 Raids where they keep seeing him again and again.

By that 10th time, Eren just blurted out one thing.

''At this point, you might as well join my crew.''

He'd jokingly said it, at least somewhat. But by the 10th time, Queen had actually gotten stronger. Which would be pretty valuable, all things considered.

He ends up laughing.

''Mwahaha! A tempting offer, but no way I'm leaving while MADS is still going and running.''

He'd refused. But, due to MADS being forced to disband a couple of years after this, Queen would end up joining Eren at age 24, about 3 years later.

But it wasn't about then, but about now.

A couple of Months would pass by as Marine activity seemed to rise against the Beast Pirates. And then, towards the end of the Year...

Emperor Yeager's goal would be forever shaped.

Marine activity has risen up in the months to pass, and it's something that Eren and generally, his entire crew also noticed.

They'd just assumed it was because of his bounty. And they weren't wrong there, just not for what they'd thought was the reason.

Then, they see an Admiral Ship.

''Shit. Admiral Magath's Flagship.'' one of his men curses upon seeing the Marine ship. And he knows Zeke is also there.

''Zeke's superior Officer then... which means my brother is also there.''

An Admiral, Vice-Admiral, and likely other Marines. Could it get worse?

''I also see Government Ships, Captain!''

Of course...

Another noteworthy thing. The sheer amount of Navy Vessels is ridiculous. It's overkill and fitting of a buster call.

And when Zeke disembarks from his ship and heads towards him with his own men...

''What the hell are you doing here?!''

Zeke's uncharacteristic silence is what makes him realize, that something is very wrong.

''Eren. The World Government wants you dead. The Five Elders issued the order 2 days ago.''

Under other circumstances, it might be a good thing. It means he's being taken seriously.

But at the same time, why wouldn't he be wanted dead while he was with Captain Rocks? Why order it now?

Behind him, King seemed to have more or less the same way of thinking he had, especially considering his face hasn't been seen by anyone since he got that suit and mask. Hence, he was the first to draw his weapon.

(It wasn't yet a swordbreaker, something King would later on add in his sword once he decided disarming his opponents made things easier)

His entire crew quickly realized the situation as they draw their weapons to.

''And the reason behind that?'' Eren finally asks.

Zeke's answer?

''You know too much.''

Ah. So that's why... looks like the reason for his Dad's death has caught up to him after all.

Eren takes a deep breath and then scowls.

''Then bring it!''

And then, it's a bloodbath for both sides. Because neither are letting the other win.

But at the end of the day, if Zeke falls...

''Ha...ha...'' Zeke panted, bloodied and in hybrid while facing off against Eren's own Hybrid form. And after hours of fighting, Eren's beginning to win.

''I never... thought you'd get quite a Devil-Fruit that powerful...''

A normal Zoan, against a Mythological Zoan. It seemed obvious who'd win at the end of the day, and even then, Zeke still held on.

Eren for his own part, was also injured. But that was to be expected. Someone of Zeke's caliber would have developed a strong enough Haki to damage him through his scales.

He was bleeding, after all.

''What can I say? I was lucky.'' Really lucky to, considering before he had that fruit, he was close to dying.

''Lucky... eh...?'' Zeke panted again as he forced himself up, ''You know, you can stop me right here and right now, but... it doesn't change a thing.''

At that, Eren's eyes widen slightly.

''What the hell do you mean by that?''

''Look around you, Eren!''

And he does. A bloody Battlefield. Marine Ships surrounding... Oh.

''Yes 'Oh!' Eren! Even if I couldn't take you down, the Buster Call just might.'' he actually spat those words, considering immediately after, he began to spit out blood.

''Do you really think a Buster Call will be able to kill me? I have flight, Zeke! And flying has always been a dangerous thing in these seas.''

Traveling access is always something highly valuable. And if ships can't... then flying would. Eren just hit the jackpot on that one.

Zeke for his own part, gave a sad exhale of air. He sounded miserable.

''And that's why I'm not letting you get away!'' and unexpectedly, Zeke charges back in even though he's injured.

That's Zoans for you.

They both exchange blows yet again, and even though Zeke can hurt him, he can't hold on for much longer.

Still, he tries.

The exchange of blows hits harder for the both of them, before he lands a good enough hit with his Conquerors to the point where Eren stumbles.

But he's not about to let Zeke go, and wraps his tail around his leg as he falls. It forces Zeke to fall alongside him, and Eren grounds one of his legs into the dirt before thrusting his head right at Zeke.

They headbutted each other, conquerors clashing as they did so. It's there that Zeke's glasses caved in, and broke.

Zeke was the one to fall on his back while Eren stood tall. And that brought their fight to an end.

They'd both remained in their Hybrids Forms, but it was clear one of them couldn't fight anymore.

''I never... never... thought you'd... that you'd overpower me this badly.''

Zeke panted between breath as he tried to stand up, a sluggish but still possible feat.

''You... why do you obey them?!'' Eren bellows his question, anger filling in his voice.

''Why serve such a corrupt Government?! You had to have seen what they do! If they were to so-called 'good guys' then none of this should have happened!''

It's not that Eren believes that, even though the world would truly be better if the Marines didn't have corruption inside them. It's the fact Zeke, who actually has a sense of Justice... is willing to stoop so low.

''Don't tell me. Did you agree to kill Dad as well because you believe in them so much?!'' Eren screams his question.

And Zeke, looks at him with tired eyes. The fight, wearing on him.

''No...'' he answered with a tired sigh, ''While... dad and I never got along with his remarriage, I never wished for him to die. Whoever heard what he told you... was unrelated to me.''

Eren doesn't know if he's happy, or mad it's not Zeke who was the reason.

''Then who the hell did it, huh?!'' Eren asks in anger, because he needs someone to blame!

''I... they... the blame falls-''

Zeke had opened his mouth to answer. But in the end, the answer came in the shape of blood. Coming out of his mouth when he abruptly stopped.

He spat it out and into the ground before he himself fell on top of his own blood.

Eren looked on in shock before his eyes landed on the perpetrator.

''Cipher Pol!''

Agents from all public divisions, from the looks of it. He's not sure if there's anyone from the Ninth. Not that it mattered.

Only one had committed the deed, but more had shown up afterward.

''So Vice-Admiral Zeke couldn't do it after all.''

''Looks like it. No matter, he's been dealt with and now, it's his turn.''

''My turn?!'' Eren bellowed through his gritted teeth, ''You think you can kill me?!''

''You're weakened. So yes.''

He glares at them all, before laughing.

''Idiot. All of you are Idiots!'' clenching his fist, it hardens itself as Armament Haki is coated on his arms.

''Weakened, you say?! Come at me and find it the hard way!''

And he lunges at them.

Eren ended up killing all of them. He was injured, and tired from his fight against Zeke. But, Cipher Pol just didn't stand a chance against someone like Eren.

Still, he panted. He felt tired. And now, more than ever, he just... didn't know what to do now.

Then, he saw Zeke's body on the floor. And something in him felt like it had died, like it finally hit him. Like maybe he should just abandon.

His eyes, which shined with so much life... were empty. Green eyes that really could be thought of as Emeralds were dulled.

Everyone he knew died one after the other. His allies and friends dropped dead, and his enemies or traitors got to live...

''No...''

It was such a weak thing. No heat in it.

''No...''

But that quickly changed. Because Eren soon realized something...

''No...''

What a fool he was to allow himself to even consider the thought of abandoning by just seeing his Brothers dead body. What stupidity caught him?!

''I'm not allowing this.''

He gritted his Teeth as fire returned to his eyes. Dulled, and yet, sharpened yet again.

''I'm not dying here! I'm not letting any of them get away with this!''

Unknown to him at the time, his own Conquerors Haki burst to life, encompassing the entire Island in seconds.

''None of us are dying here!''

With a roar of his declaration, the ground beneath him cracked.

Eren looked at his Brothers body one final time. And for a moment, considered what to do with it.

In the end, he left his body at peace as he walked away.

His priority was to escape with his crew. He's not leaving them behind. Damn himself if he actually abandoned and ran away like a Coward.

He'd built something that was his, and he wasn't losing anything else today.

''We're heading back to the ship me! It's time we retreated!''

The Beast Pirates would make it out alive, but not without casualties on both sides. And certainly not without Admiral Magath's own interferences.

After their successful escape, Eren doesn't leave his chambers. Doesn't do a thing.

He's just... depressed. While he's never abandoning now, it doesn't mean he's not feeling sad. He's lost his brother too, now.

First his Mother. Then his Father. And now his Brother. And that wasn't including all the other people he's lost along the way.

...how come Mikasa was the last one of any friends he still had?

Jean, Connie, and Armin were dead. There was Sasha, true. But he'd never gotten particularly close to her because she was Mikasa's own friend. He had Armin, once upon a time, that filled that same Role.

He supposes it doesn't even matter now. He'd said it himself, they're Pirates of opposites crew. Next time they meet, it will be as enemies. However long that next time may be.

Still, he doesn't miss how the one person still alive isn't an ally of his. And...

And he drinks.

He'd always enjoyed the taste of Sake and now might just be the time he needed some kind of comfort food -or drink in this case.

So, he does.

And he grows gradually depressed. Thinking back on how much has been lost, how much he wishes he still had.

He doesn't even know if he's drunk or sober, because his eyes tell no lie.

He feels enraged afterward, instead of depressed.

And then, then... he remembers.

That talk with his dad, Grisha. The conversation that would somehow leak to someone from the World Government and would end up causing his Father's death. The very information that caused what recently happened.

Joyboy.

It's because of him that the world is in its current state. He failed, and due to his failure, led to all of this.

Eren, gritted his Teeth in answer as his Green eyes shined with furry. At the realization of why this happened. Of why he and his brother ended up as enemies. Or why Annie, Reiner, and Bertholdt betrayed them.

They were Marines. But who controlled the Marines?

The World Government. The government that controlled this world, and was corrupt. So corrupted they allowed Men and women to act and believe to be Gods when they were worse than even Devils.

And they were the problem. Always were, even more so than Pirates.

Joyboy failed centuries ago! And because of his loss, his complete and utter failure, all of this happened!

Then...

Suddenly, Eren gave a savage grin. So unfit on his face, with how deranged it looked on his face.

Then what would happen if they wiped away everything clean?

Take away what made the World Government... and then what? What kind of Government were they if they had nothing to rule. If they lost that victory, centuries later?

Yes... yes! This could very well be it! His plan. His final goal!

It was that day Eren Yeager, swore he would destroy everything the World Government had.

It's Citizens.

It's Kingdoms.

It's World.

It's Military might.

Everything they had, he'd destroy. Over and over and over again until they were nothing but memories! He would not stop until he had trampled on it all.

And so, Eren Yeager knew he needed to build up power. But for that, he needed a set territory. A place to settle and build up power.

And suddenly, one place came to mind. The Perfect place to.

Wano Kuni.

It was higher than many Islands, and a natural fortress by default because of it. Accessing it wasn't easy, but there were ways...

It was also isolated from the World Government. Perfect for anyone unaffiliated with them to hide. Or, in Eren's case, build up power.

With a grin that simply didn't fit a human, Eren Yeager started his plan at 22 years old.

And its first step, was him leaving his room.

The first (actual) step in Eren's plan, is recruitment.

To keep conquered Islands, he needs men to keep guard. Or, protection in return for offerings. Depending on the Islands, it could be any reason.

But men were important for territories. And who said more people, said more mouths to feed. Hence, having those Islands provide them food. Or, in a lighter tone, commercing.

(The latter was harder for obvious reasons)

It's during that recruitment period where he ends up gaining a few more noteworthy crewmembers.

In this case, Floch.

Floch is... unique, compared to most members on his crew. Normally, power is what gets you on the top, but Eren isn't an idiot.

The mind is also powerful, and Floch fits that bill. The guy had joined in because he wanted to... to do a sort of fresh start. Begin anew, as he said.

(Ironically, his mentality fit right into what Eren needed)

Floch wasn't weak either, but he'd never reach the Level of either King or Queen, his Calamities.

And yet, he's still important. At the end of the day, Floch acts more like his advisor. It's made especially noticeable when Wano comes into play.

Besides him however, Eren normally recruits by forcing other pirate crews to join him.

It's join or die, and the former is always a far more tempting offer than the latter.

The entire conquering and recruiting take a good couple of years. Eren is 23 when he starts wielding a Kanabo. His hands are tainted by so much blood he just wishes to stop committing the deeds with his bare hands.

As mentioned previously, Eren is 24 when Queen joins his crew. MADS had been recently disbanded during that time, and he suddenly remembered he had been given an offer. A Calamity joined the crew.

Eren ended up welcoming him amongst the Beast Pirates, though King and Queen had a rather... rocky cooperation.

He's 25 when manpower is at a more stable level, and when most Islands surrounding Wano are well and truly in his grasp now.

It also means he's got quite a bit of resource at his disposal, like Devil-Fruits. Queen was already a Devil-Fruit user, but King could do with it. And he's got more in reserve.

But it's at Age 26 when he makes quite a meeting.

Honestly, Eren couldn't help but stare at how... those two didn't blend in with the crowd. The old lady especially looked... really, really weird.

But, he recognized the clothing style. Wano. And he can just tell, he might have just hit a jackpot there.

So, he walks up to them. He doesn't have his Kanabo with him since it's his territory, so his only weapons are his fists. Which, works fine enough.

''Now what do I find here.''

Over the years, Eren had decided to adopt long hair, and make it into a bun. And he'd stay with that hairstyle for what may be years to come. Or maybe not, who knows.

Still, it meant his face was slightly less recognizable from his Wanted Poster. Hence, the elderly... couple? started at him for a moment.

''Ah, it's you!''

They seem weirdly happy to see him.

''Y-You're Yeager. The man said to want to invade Wano.''

Really now, had it spread that much already in his territories alone, or also outside? He'd need to check on that one.

''I see you heard of me.''

Honestly, the old bag gave him the impression she'd collapse at any second. The old man on the other hand looked fine.

''Yes. Yes! We heard you wanted to head to Wano Kuni!''

Eren simply nods in affirmation.

''Yes, I do. But... why bring that up? In fact, how do you know that?''

He's being way more hospitable than he should be, considering how those 2 random people know of his plans. How?

''Ah! Ah, you see!''

''My fault, Lord Yeager.''

Floch shows up out of nowhere, that Eren is left in surprise at how he showed up.

''They overheard me. Didn't exactly think two old people would have been listening in, considering I was at a Bar I visit often.''

A fair enough thing, though maybe a tad careless. Not that he's going to blame Floch for that one. Eren's own drinking habits are... less than acceptable.

''So you overheard Floch. Now, why even approach me? I'm pretty sure normally, it's the opposite that happens.''

The Old man remains quiet during all of this. The old woman is the only one who talks.

''You want to invade Wano, and we want Revenge!''

Ah... well, isn't that a surprise?

''Revenge you say?'' Floch chimes in, ''Against who?''

''Everyone in Wano.''

The old man suddenly spoke. Really, Eren was left surprised he'd spoken at all with how quiet he was, and even more surprised when he was suddenly playing with a lute.

''Oh?''

Curious indeed.

''Do tell more, I actually do want to hear your reasons. In private, of course.''

They were led to the current place of residence fot the Beast Pirates. And there, they learned quite a bit.

Higurashi and Semimaru. Both Kurozumi's. Family's from Wano Country and fallen from grace.

They'd escaped, because of how bad things were getting when the Citizens persecuted them. But vowed to return and get revenge.

Inwardly, Eren was heavily humored by how... convenient it was for him. He literally had his ticket in to prepare in advance.

So, he makes a deal with them.

''You both want Revenge, and I realize that I want to waste the least amount of men possible on this.''

The less he lost, and the more he gained. He needed a large army, at the end of the day. So, if he had to be sneaky...

''So, let's do this. I will gift you Devil-Fruits, but in exchange, I want you 2 to do everything in your power to give us, the Beast Pirates, advantages in Wano. Landmass they haven't used, hiding places and all that stuff.''

The Devil-Fruits he had in mind would be of absolute use to them, he knows it. And if they found allies, he was even willing to add one or two more Devil-Fruits. He sends them a grin.

''If all goes well, we will soon be in Wano ourselves. A year or two at most. And we need to do things smoothly until we can take over, after all.''

Eren drinks sake, a lot.

It's especially prominent after Zeke's death. Where it's practically what he always drinks.

He likes the taste, so it's not like he's really in any trouble. But, Sake gets you drunk.

And in those moments drunk, he always thinks of Mikasa. Because she's the last person who's of some importance to him, that's living. And he wishes for it. Wishing for... for something he's not sure about.

He wonders if he'll ever get it. That something...

When he does become sober again, he completely forgets about it. But only during his sad drunk phases.

Eren has all Islands surrounding Wano conquered so that he has a constant supply line available while he can take his time conquering Wano.

The World Government of course catches wind of this, but don't actually publish the right information. Instead, they just believe he's conquering to rule.

Well, they're not wrong either. But his conquests, end up making him gain the Title of Yonko, further down the line. And they seem to tone down attacking him, as of the moment.

Of course, that's not the focus point. And it would only happen down later on. But right now, his first step was achieved.

Now, it was time to head to Wano.

While they're heading there, Eren has a talk with King.

''Don't you have your own goals you want to accomplish?'' They're in Eren's private quarters. You'd think King couldn't fit, but he actually does. Everything's tall enough.

''I do.'' he confirms.

''And you're absolutely fine with what I have in mind?''

King ends up shaking his head, which wasn't a no, ''Lord Eren. I have followed you since the start of this crew. I'm not planning on leaving now, or ever.''

Really, Eren shouldn't be surprised at that. King has always been the most loyal crewmate.

''Then...'' Eren tapped his shoulder, ''I hope I can count on you even more from now on.''

King simply nods. And he swears he can see a small twitch on his lips.

''Of course.''

When the Beast Pirates arrive at Wano, Eren had already all the Islands surrounding the Land under his control. So they pretty much had it safe, even if they had to leave.

Higurashi and Semimaru had sent them reports as often as they could from this isolated region. They mentioned they had found other allies, fellow Kurozumi's, but what was most important right now, was an Island.

An Island unused. Abandoned and never visited due to its large horned skull. Perfect for the Beast Pirates to consider as their home base.

A couple of days passes as they settle themselves neatly in. The crew he had present were all people he trusted for Wano's takeover.

It was why he sent half of them, disguised, to scout ahead and find their Kurozumi allies. Meanwhile, Eren thinks back to the past as he drinks. And how he misses it.

It's now that he just... thinks of Mikasa's answer, back when they both were just 19, compared to their 28-Year-old self.

When she said family, did she mean it as 'Siblings' or had he just horribly misjudged?

It's not like he can know now, can he? He said it himself. Next time they meet, they would be enemies.

Although... No! Stop thinking of her!

He's got his plans, and he has to focus on them instead of her. And then, he sees himself in a mirror.

''Maybe I should cut my hair... and shave while I'm at it.''

He doesn't. He decides to try and let it grow. Might as well try and see how he might look.

Then, he leaves his room and returns to the Skull Island, making a mental note to name it, where he met up with Floch.

''Status update, if there's any.''

He goes right to the point, and so does Floch.

''So far, nothing noteworthy besides the initial reports and the intel the Kurozumi's gave us. Wano is an isolated region, but our men were able to blend in well enough. However, we have come to notice that Wano's Samurai indeed are stronger than any average men.''

''I see... well, we have nothing to fear so far. They were sent to scout, not fight. So long they don't start it, we'll be fine.''

Eren truly hopes he didn't just jinx themselves by saying that. But really, his entire crew was smart. They wouldn't mess up unless something outside of their control happened.

Taking over Wano, was a slow process that took years.

The two old Kurozumi people that Eren founds outside of Wano during his conquests began to lay the footwork with Orochi.

When Eren arrived, he was able to speed up the silent takeover of Wano. And once Orochi had taken the position of Shogun, he'd provided him with more men, alongside Floch, a direct advisor of his to help.

(Not without reminding Orochi that above all else, he should serve him. Because without Yeager's support, Orochi wouldn't be where he was today.)

Why did he do it a slow process? Because right now, the Samurai's and their Underworld remained strong.

He had to be careful there.

Of course, upon Orochi becoming Shogun, they'd won. And that was it.

But before that, Eren had played smart. He'd build connections and slowly put a hold on them.

Members of his crew joined in. And then, they waited patiently to act.

The opening came in the form of the current Shogun's only heir... leaving to become a Pirate. And Eren laughed at that.

To perfect of an opportunity. At this rate, he'd really considered doing a hostile takeover. They'd win for sure now.

And so, the day Oden left Wano, was also the day that Eren won.

It's after those days that Eren meets a woman. And for the first time in what could be a long time, he felt love. Romantic love.

The short story, because Eren didn't want to just waste everyone's time, was that they ended up doing the 'deed' one night while both were drunk. Drunk Eren had decided to give it a shot. See if it could work out or not.

Yamato is born when Eren is 40. His one and only daughter.

She's born with his mother's Hazel eyes, instead of his own Green. However, it seems like his eye color went to her hair, considering its end is always green. Along with her mother's white hair.

Yamato's mother dies due to Childbirth, and he's left alone with his one daughter. He ends up coping by drinking more, and trying to take care of his daughter.

By the time Oden returns to Wano, it's already a changed land.

Orochi has become Shogun. And Floch became an Advisor of his and keep watch of him. Never can be too safe.

Overday, Wano became a factory.

Still, Oden rushed towards the Flower Capital that next day. Why? Well, if Orochi's words and everyone's that knew Oden was anything to go by, he was mad.

So, Eren decided to head to the Flower Capital himself.

All the townspeople saw, was a big Azure Dragon up in the gradually darkened sky of the capital.

His body surrounded the Castle, and his face looks down.

''Come on out, Oden!''

His voice is a booming one, and he knows the Walls here are not soundproof. So Oden has to come out.

And he does.

In the shape of barging up, crashing through the roof, and landing up there before glaring at him.

''So you're Yeager...''

Eren had clashed against Whitebeard and Roger, but the former never actually had him meet much of his divisions, and Roger... well, he'd began to ignore him. As if he were s speck of dust.

''And you're that Samurai that joined Whitebeard and then Rogers crew. Honestly, to think you'd actually left.'' Eren remarks, ''Thanks to you, we didn't need to forcefully take over Wano.''

''By force?!''

''You heard me the first time. The current Shogun's son had left out of the blue, and it was just too much of a perfect opportunity to finally take over Wano. We, the beast Pirates, have already been on Wano for a while now. But this? This allowed us to make it public, Worororororo!''

His Serpentine body kept flying around the building as he spoke while Oden watched and listened before he bellowed a question.

''Then what the hell are all those people for?!''

''Oh, them?'' Eren positioned himself so he faced Oden, ''Why, Tributes of course. Maybe they'll be killed afterward, or we'll put them to work in the factories until they drop dead.''

''You... you're the one who's behind all of this at the end of the day, huh, Yeager?!'' he bellowed out between gritted teeth as he charged at Eren, leaving him no opportunity to answer back.

Eren opened his mouth in answer and fired a Boro Breath, which sent Oden crashing back right down.

Eren followed suit as he turned back to normal and crashed down into the building.

''There you are!''

He swung his Kanabo towards Oden as he blocked it.

''You're a fool, you know that?''

They kept demolishing Orochi's castle, and it would have lasted that way if not for an 'offer'.

And that fool, Oden... accepted it.

Eren felt disgusted afterward. But it bought them time. Time which Eren believed they didn't need. But Orochi absolutely didn't think the same way.

Eren still undergoes expeditions outside of Wano, before and after Wano is taken over. He's an Emperor of the Sea, and more Islands for more manpower always helps.

He also has to do it now while he can because Mikasa is constantly conquering Islands for her growing independent Kingdom.

Job well done for her, but highly problematic to him in the long run.

(He ends up clashing a lot against Roger and Whitebeard due to Mikasa's own conquests leaving them having to go towards areas where her presence is the least felt, even other previous Rocks Pirates. But... well, he is always cold towards the Roger Pirates. Eventually, it just leads him to ignoring their existence.)

It's around this time that he finds, the one who'd be his last calamity, Jack.

The small Fisherman hybrid, is but a child back then. Although he was already taller than himself, much to his dismay.

(He's not sure if he's hearing someone laugh at him, or just someone giving him a stare)

Either way, he finds the Child drifting on a plank of Wood that looked like it would collapse at any second.

His Flagship was close by when he saw that, and even though he was more often than not a monster, he'd felt enough pity to rescue that child.

(This wouldn't be the first or last time he'd recruit children into his Crew. Ulti and Page One for example, would end up joining as well in around 2 years from the time Jack joined, albeit due to different circumstances)

''What's your name, brat?''

The boy doesn't answer.

''Hey, you have a mouth. Use it to speak.''

''...Jack.''

''And why were you drifting on the sea?''

''...because I trusted the wrong person.''

Trust... ah, that word. He remembers her once telling him not to trust him.

''Eren. Don't trust Rock's.''

And he remembers the face he made while asking her why she said that.

''He's crazy and with a goal to big with a group that's not unified enough. That's going to be the death of him, one day. He might have the power, but no one trusts him to ever defend him with their lives.''

And she was right as well. When God Valley happened, only few actually stayed unified. Rocks died because no one liked each other. That one pillar left, and all came coming down even with a temporary support pillar.

That, and because the bastard also wasn't attached to any of them. Not even the Apprentices pirates under his wing.

He ran away from Roger, and it forced Mikasa to fight Roger. That scar she received was from Roger, after all.

(The fact it's Roger who tells him the latter part of this tale brings him shame to his consciousness)

''Then it was a laps of judgment on your part kid. But, if you're willing to give it again... how about I show you how to give and gain trust?''

It took a bit of time, but Jack would end up trusting him by the end of the day.

He wasn't the last child to join him. But he was the one child to actually receive a sort of Trial.

He joined Eren in fighting off Gecko Moria. That fool had decided attacking him was a good idea, and paid with the loss of his crew. It was a miracle that Moria survived and didn't die along with his crew.

(On that day, Moria would be forever scared of Eren Yeager's actions. He would never forget him)

There was a battle, 5 years after Oden was tricked into making that deal. One where Eren still finds it utterly disgusting.

Honestly, he can be cruel, but he finds it utterly repulsive how anyone can actually do what Oden did for 5 years.

He's pretty sure that the reason Oden actually attacked at all, was also because of Hyogoro.

Let it be said that Eren (and Orochi as well for that matter) had a wish to take over Wano's underworld. Much lighter than he'd expected, but still something.

Orochi just couldn't handle him anymore, he'd said. So, Eren handled that problem in his own way. But it was neither here nor there. Instead... it was the ensuing battle.

For one, they were ready for them. Having a spy amongst them made it so much easier to deal with. And then...

''So was that promise a lie?!''

Eren's scoff as an Azure Dragon might have released more air than he'd intended.

''Orochi was the one who lied. I never said anything about you having to dance in public all but naked, or about that supposed ship he'd have to leave. In fact, I was rather confident we could have taken you on 5 years ago.''

A mad man who didn't care about how many died, some had said. It was either a lie, or Oden had completely changed during his time away.

''The fact you believed Orochi's words still leaves me surprised. And what a fool you were to leave him holding you down for this long!''

Eren opened his mouth as he roared. A roar that echoed, and even made the air around them wilder for a small moment.

''Kill them all men! It's time for the Kozuki's to die off!''

And so, a battle ensued. Eren knew all too well that if Oden died, then Wano was by all means finished. Hence why he was going to kill him right here and right now.

Of course, Eren wasn't the one who'd initially fought. Oden and his Samurai had to first go through his men. But while he waited, he planned.

When the Samurai came jumping at him, he came to a decision and fought in his current state.

Which meant that his mouth, his teeth, were things that clashed against Oden's swords.

Even as a large target, he worked it pretty well.

Then, Oden swung with all his might at him, using some kind of naming technique, and it landed somewhere on his side. And much to his surprise...

He was cut... he was actually cut even through his toughness granted to him by his Devil-Fruit...

He was left completely and utterly surprised by all of this.

Is that... is that how Mikasa felt when she was wounded at God Valley? Is that how she felt when she realized that cut on her cheek will scar?

Because his own wound Oden gave him will scar, he knows it.

His body returned normal from the pain, fully back Human as Eren clutched his wound briefly. Before glaring at Oden.

Then, without a word, his Kanabo is coated in Armament Haki.

''Don't think for a second this is enough to kill me!''

His scream sent a shockwave that split his own fire away from them, leaving a clear circle free of fire to fight in.

Oden was already charging at him, weapons ready.

''Don't ever come back to the land of Wano, Yeager!''

''Don't think you'll win just like that, Kozuki!''

The newly formed wound and soon-to-be scar throbbed as Eren went on to attack at his strongest.

It would have been either a clash of attacks or a double takedown, if not because Oden was suddenly distracted by Momonosuke being held hostage by one of his men.

Eren didn't realize that until he landed a blow at the back of his head, which put him down for good.

It's not exactly all that satisfying to have just struck down someone in the back, but Eren's not about to complain. He won, and he was taking that victory.

He need no epithet.

The rest of his Scabbards were swiftly dealt with once this was done. And so, the Beast Pirates won.

Wano was now doomed.

Kozuki Oden's, alongside his retrainers, execution would take place 12 days from when they went on to attack.

The sentence was being boiled alive.

And Eren was present for it. He was sitting alongside Orochi while drinking.

The guy should have just jumped in and died. Well and truly, that should have been the case. But Oden likes to give surprises because after staring at the pot for a small amount of time, he turns to look at both Orochi and Eren.

''Give me a chance. Let me live!''

Eren narrows his eyes at Oden's words. Staring intently at him. Wondering why he would even try that.

Orochi however, is the one who voices it.

''Why should I give you a chance?!''

His eyes still narrowed, he speaks.

''Kozuki Oden! What are you playing at?''

''We'll get in the pot at once.'' Oden says, and Eren listens, ''Set whatever time limit you like and if any of us survives that long...''

Oden's eyes might just be blazing as hotly as the pot when he finishes his demand.

''Set us free!''

Eren and Oden stare at each other. One out of what very well was confusion. The other, of confidence.

''You idiot! It'll kill you instantly!'' Orochi mocks him, but Eren actually wonders...

''Let's say we say yes. Why should you even trust a word we say, when you were lied to?''

At Eren's question, Oden gave a large grin.

''Well, Orochi lied. You on the other hand never said a thing. So I trust you enough for you to keep up the end of the deal.''

Eren stares for a moment longer, thinking about it, before his eyes open up from their narrowed state. Then, he leans back from his seat. His eyes instantly land on one of his men.

''Bring me a watch!''

It leaves Orochi surprised. But Eren goes on as if he had said nothing.

''Let's see if your willpower is enough to withstand this heat! Or maybe, you'll die before the set time. Could very well be a big moment for you. So then, jump in! I'll watch until it ends.'' and then, he drinks from his cup.

When he's done, he lays it back down with a happy sigh, ''I'm giving you one hour. Anyone who survives that long can leave without anyone doing anything to them.''

Oden stares at him, then turns back and walks to the boiling pot. And then, he jumps in.

Eren is legitimately left impressed he's actually standing at all and not immediately dead. But hey, people with enough willpower can hold on for quite a while. Now, it was time to see how long he'd last... at least compared to his retainers, who were rushing in.

And now, Eren's left surprised again. Oden doesn't even let them be in the pot, instead holding them up with a plank.

He ends up laughing.

''Wororororo! Well isn't that an interesting way to do things. All 10 of them are in the pot, so fair enough Oden!''

The watch was given, and he put it in between himself and Orochi, then, the clock started ticking.

''Now, let's begin Oden's boiling!''

And so, they waited, and watched.

It was a surprisingly entertaining thing, watching someone hold on in boiled Water for an entire hour.

Though really, anyone who withstood it, was basically a dead person already. Even as the clock ticked, and as he was gradually succeeding

Unless you ate a heat-related Devil-Fruit, this was a death sentence you'd given yourself.

Eren was drinking from his cup, and briefly wondered where Yamato was. Well, he'd look for her in the crowd later on, right now, he just watched as the Clock kept ticking.

Orochi was beginning to panic, but Eren knew Oden's fate was sealed already. It didn't matter if he succeeded.

And then, the clock ticked to its end, and Wano citizen's cheered for it. So did his Scabbards.

He took a final sip from the now empty cup before dropping it on the ground, and then clapped.

It was a slow movement, and he purposely made it slow, his own expression neutral.

''Congratulation. You passed one hour. Cheer yourself up, pat yourself in the back, or let your retainers do it for you, but... can you still move?''

That singular question, was met with silence.

''Thought so. You're not living past the boiling. Come on, throw your retainers away, they can walk free!'' he was sincere there.

''But they better walk far, far away. Because afterward? They'll be chased again and killed.''

His word is final, and he hasn't lied. They're free to go... for now. And then, Oden throws the platform behind him, constantly facing him.

''You guys! Leave.''

He knows his Samurai haven't left yet. And Eren stares at them for a moment before his gaze falls onto Oden.

''I'll make it swift. You're still alive, so I'll give you a swifter death.'' he grabbed ahold of a gun.

Oden's Scabbards suddenly move in perhaps a vain attempt to stop this execution, but then his eyes fall back on them.

''If you guys don't want to die now, I suggest you either run or do nothing.'' if they wanted to see their Lord's last moment alive, then fine by him.

And that stops them dead in their tracks. His eyes lingered on them for a moment while motioning his crew to keep an eye out just in case. Then, he focused back on Oden.

''The Kozuki's era ends here. You're all dying today.'' and he aimed at Oden. But, boiled body or not, he wasn't done yet.

''Don't underestimate my samurai retainers!'' he said with a grin.

Orochi had enough at this point.

''Finish him off already!''

Eren decided to ignore him.

''I will admit, I didn't actually think you'd hold on for an entire hour. Turns out I was wrong there. However... I wonder how long your memory will live before it's forgotten.''

Oden was panting, death finally catching up to him.

''I don't mind being forgotten. But my spirit will live on!'' he declared. Orochi gave some outcry, but he ignored it again.

''Your spirit? Heh... Wororororo! We'll see how long your spirit lives on, 20 years from now on.''

''Ho? You want to do something during that time then. Build it up all you want.'' he panted again and looked up. He said something, but he'd mostly tuned it out.

Then, he takes a stance, and Eren goes on to shoot.

One single bullet is all it took.

In the end, he died with a smile that never left his face, even when his body fell into the boiling oil.

Eren watched on with apathy at that. Those were words. Simple as that.

His gaze then went to the scabbards. Who were crying about Oden's death. Ah, to be allowed to show that much emotions...

''Come on, scram! Or do you all want to join your Lord in death after all?''

And that, makes them retreat. They leave, as he'd given his word.

He watches them leave. And then motions toward one of his men.

''Prepare to chase after them once they leave the Capital. Oh, and prepare the invasion on the Kozuki Castle, it's time we finish them all off.''

The man salutes.

''Yes sir!''

Oden's castle is burning by the time he arrives. But he doesn't care he's late. He gave the order to kill them all and end the Kozuki's, but knowing their tenacity... this might not end them if he didn't do it personally.

His figure, his Azure Dragon, flies down from the sky.

He could just shoot it down now, and be done with it. But... he has to do something first.

He flies down right at its entrance and reverts back to his human state. Then, he walks inside.

Anyone on his way is swiftly dealt with. He had no need for his weapon and instead used his fists. He didn't even need Haki to deal with them.

Then, he punched the last one through a door, and he'd arrived at his destination.

Oden's Family was there. His wife was holding on a Katana as a vain attempt of defending herself and her children, even though it would be useless. His target wasn't even them.

He walked inside. Roughly the same height, even though she was taller than him, now that he looked at her. And he stares at her for a bit longer.

''You remind me of someone.''

It falls on deaf ears. Not that Eren even wanted anyone to actually remember him saying that, as he proceeded to raise a hand and Toki proceeded to attack as she saw his hostility, but he caught the blade with his bare hands. No damage whatsoever.

''But you're just no match to her either.''

The blade shatters as he crushes it before that same hand launches itself around her throat, lifting her up as he speaks.

''I know full well that you have a Devil-Fruit that allows you to travel through time.''

Toki's eyes widened. That was only a power Oden and anyone he trusted knew about.

''My question to you is this. Do you come from the same Era as Joyboy did?''

Both eyes colored green -though of different shades- looked at each other.

''Why... do you ask that?''

All that caused was for Eren to squeeze harder to the point where she was well and truly choking now.

''Answer my question!''

''I... won't...'' she choked out.

Eren doesn't even realize the Children are hitting him, because it doesn't hurt. But they're trying to free their mother.

And thinking about them...

Well, he had also come here to kill them. He didn't need Oden's children to make Wano's citizens more rebellious. But he could use that to his advantage, right now.

''You won't tell anything, even if I did anything to your Children?''

That prompts her to fight harder. And he'll admit, nice attempt. Not that it did anything to free her from his grip.

''Well? Come on, spill it.''

Toki gritted her teeth as she tried in vain to free herself. For a moment, she considered something... before finally opening her mouth to speak and tell him what he wanted.

''I... am...''

Toki never met Joyboy, even though she followed up with the answer that she came from the same Era. Only heard of him before she was entrusted with a mission.

Eren is relatively disappointed.

''That's it? Tch.''

He threw her into a nearby wall while her Children ran after her, crying.

''Enjoy those last moments of life!''

He tells them before walking out through their window and jumping off. Seconds later, an Azure Dragon flew up and over the Kozuki Castle.

His gaze never left the Castle as he circled around it. A decision was made.

''It's about time I destroy the last traces of the Kozuki's!''

Eren opened his mouth as a fire began to build up. The heat grew in power again and again until it was as strong as Eren wished it to be.

He was about to fire when a pillar of white light shot out from the castle, Eren seeing it blow in the middle of the night sky.

''What was that...?'' he asked while the built-up fire remained in his mouth. But it was of little matter, as his gaze returned towards the Kozuki Castle.

Nothing was stopping him now, so he went on to end the Kozuki's. His serpentine figure hovered over the Castle as he lowered his head just over the top of the Castle.

''Boro Breath!''

He fired it down towards the Castle as it was engulfed in flames as it all came undone and into cinders. Alongside the building in question, a good chunk of the ground was razed off from Wano.

Thus ended the Kozuki's and their retainers.

Or at least, that was what Eren wanted to say, before he noticed someone jumping outside of the castle at the last minute Someone riding a horse. Narrowly escaping death from his attack.

''Now what straggler to we have here?''

He was out here already, so he might as well deal with whatever that was to. So, he followed after.

In the end, Toki would end up arriving at Bakaru town in time to announce a prophecy to a crowd, even though there was an Azure Dragon behind her.

Eren was detransforming while Toki gave her prophecy.

''You are the moon unaware of the dawn. May your purpose be fulfilled and cast nine shadows on the night woven of 20 years and you shall know the brilliance of the dawn!''

It was when her declaration ended that Eren had finished detransforming. Hence, he landed on the ground harshly enough to the point it cracked under the pressure and caused a small Earthquake in the surrounding area.

She stumbled slightly but showed no fear to the crowd.

''Are you done?''

She turns to look behind, and those eyes, while in tears, didn't show fear towards him, even though he'd just choked her not even minutes ago.

''Yes.''

He ends up grinning at her.

''Good.''

He raised up his Kanabo, much to the crowd's dismay. And then, he smashed it right in Toki.

There was no body left from that single hit.

Thus, Eren Yeager ended the Kozuki line. Something he truly believed now. Toki wasn't with her children and so, he'd assumed they'd died by his Boro Breath.

Eren stared at the Puddle of blood, and the Wano Citizen stared at Yeager in return. Only the fire behind him gave any sort of sound.

Then, came a snort.

'''Heh...''

But it then turned into full-on laughter as Eren kept laughing and laughing in front of the Wano citizens.

''Worororororo!''

It was a laugh-filled with mirth, and a deeply unsettling one for the Wano citizens currently present.

''Keep holding onto that prophecy if that's what you wish, citizen of Wano. But know this! Try to stop me, and you will all find yourself alongside this Destruction I cause instead of being mere spectators. Those 'nine shadows'? They will be overshadowed by me completely and utterly! There will be no dawn in this world until I destroy everything in my way!''

It was with his own declaration, albeit ominous, that Eren Yeager finally left the scene.

Eren is heavily feared in Wano, after the Kozuki's death. Orochi has so much influence simply because no one fully dares to fight against him.

That would of course change, as time passed. As they came closer to the Dawn.

But until then, Wano would have no other choice but to follow Eren Yeagers will.

When Yamato was born, Eren didn't go in expecting Yamato to be like him. Turns out she was closer to him than he'd ever have expected.

He is left especially surprised at how similar Yamato is to him in the freedom aspect.

She wants to explore the world. Just like he once did. And he might have actually allowed her...

''I am Oden!! Kozuki Oden!!'' but the fact she keeps telling him she's Oden is absolutely getting on his nerves!

That man is dead! Let him be a mere memory. And it's even more infuriating because she has Conquerors Haki.

His own flesh and blood, and she's absolutely against him. Oh, he's absolutely sure someone is laughing at him from the afterlife!

Still, he looks around the unconscious bodies of his men. Mouth filled with foam.

''Tell me, Yamato... did you do this?''

''I didn't...'' she denies as her stomach rumbles, ''They just fell over. I'm so hungry... I think I'm gonna starve! Gimme some food...''

The worse part is that he actually wants to give her food. But of course, she just had to give to claims... those stupid, stupid 'I am Oden' declarations!

''Conquerors Haki, eh? It should be a good sign,.'' he briefly gives a happy tone, before completely changing it, ''But if you want to call yourself Oden, Yamato? Then just die there.''

Is it Harsh? Absolutely. But Eren needs to get through her mind that being 'Oden' isn't a game. In fact, he'd better want her to completely stop what she's doing! But... he remembers his own father's words.

''Words can't hold back human curiosity'.'

How right he was... For a moment, Eren wonders exactly how Carla and Grisha would react to all of this. But he knows they're likely not going to be proud of him.

Yamato ends up crying about it. And in a moment of weakness, he locks her up in a cave to have her reconsider. He just needs to be harsher and have her give up that childish notion, right?

Apparently, the Samurai's in there were spiteful enough of him to encourage that behavior, because she doesn't.

She never stopped.

Years would pass and she'd keep being the same, even eventually daring to escape to not be shackled.

He had explosive Collars, to be put around her wrists. But he never puts them on her. Instead, he always stops her before she can do something stupid.

But it keeps showing he can't trust her. So, he doesn't tell her anything as to why he's doing any of this.

Instead, he remains silent and waits for the day he can enact his plan. And he watches, as Yamato keeps trying and trying...

''How would you have dealt with this problem, Mikasa?''

Agh, he's thinking of her again. But he can't help it. She's a mother to... too many children for him to keep track off. And as far as he knows, they all grew up well enough.

So he wonders how she'd have dealt with Yamato's growing rebelion. Because honestly, it would have saved him so many headaches if she was just... here.

Eren shakes his head at the stupid thought. He has to stop thinking about her. They'd be enemies, the next time they meet. But that next time, seemed to be years from now on.

Some days, Eren's scar itches.

Some other days, it's just there and doesn't bother him in the slightest.

Eren isn't sure why it happens, but it's there. And, it happened that the former was the case.

Maybe because today was that day? Today marked the 2 year anniversary of Oden's death.

And how could he possibly forget Oden's declaration, that day?

His bold declaration to prepare himself, to not underestimate his Samurai's.

Or even Toki's prophecy.

But, it mattered little now, didn't it? Eren could start his plan. Wano was his, and he'd make sure Orochi followed through with it.

The simplest thing that came to mind was labor work. You worked in the mines, and each time you did so, food would be brought to you.

A simple thing, but something that should keep them motivated to actually keep going.

Monster as he was, he wanted to give them a chance to live. If they failed to do so, then shame to them, they couldn't keep up.

Eren sends Floch to constantly supervise things, and keep enough of a good liaison with Orochi. Thankfully, he doesn't truly mind. As he said himself...

''Someone has to do the deed. And I can't wait for it to be fulfilling when I see his head drop.''

He made a mental checklist for decapitation, the day Orochi died.

The Labor work makes the people of Wano's lives simply much more bearable than what it could have turned into. But it's no easy work either as factories keep building up.

But it gives results. All the Sea Stone he receives every year... oh, quite a sight. And the ships... the enhancements, the weapons. Really, it will all be worth it.

By now, he was selling those Weapons. Keep conflicts going around the World so it would be easier for Eren to land the crushing defeat on the world.

With a solid foothold in Wano, his empire can begin to be built as the years pass by.

All surrounding Islands are strongholds in of itself, but food doesn't come out of thin air. Some of the Islands are producers which he takes advantage off, and other times, trading.

Yes, he could trade. He wasn't stupid and knew when to make deals.

Although his priorities were always weapons. Aside from food, of course. Armies needed both to work.

But it wasn't just men he wished. No... they were called the Beast Pirates (other times, Animal Kingdom Pirates) for a reason.

That is slightly filled as he gains more members. The Tobiropo are eventually established and he gets a couple of Zoans. He also ends up getting Joker under his orders, with the underlined threats. But it's not quite enough...

And then, Queen brings up someone who tried creating Artificial Devil-Fruits. And that gets his attention from the start.

''During my times at MADS, there was someone who actually tried creating Artificial Devil-Fruits. Vegapunk was the one who found success, but there was that other guy... Caesar, I think was his name?''

Caesar Clown. Fellow researcher in MADS before it was disbanded.

''Not sure if he succeeded or not, but if you want a powerful crew, then that's the best guy.''

Queen was right.

While he had enough poisons and calamitous chemicals in the form of Queen, that wasn't enough. There were Devil-Fruits out there that could undo that, cure it, or even use it against them.

So, they needed stronger men. Either something so large even raw power would have a hard time against or individuals with enough power as a single being.

Easier said than done, but at least Queen proposed something.

In the end, he'd use Joker as a Liaison with Caesar. And by paying him rather handsomely to...

(He had berries to spare. So much and so little to actually use on)

Well, he was willing to not only create Artificial Devil-Fruits but also Artificially produce Ancient Giants.

And Eren was having it all. Weapons of mass destruction. Giants that can make it quicker. An army that followed his beck and call.

Ah, soon enough... soon enough, he would lay complete waste in the World.

When Eren learns that Portgass D. Ace is captured and will be executed, it's clear to everyone who knows Newgate that he will act.

A father doesn't abandon his son.

Eren would know that feeling. For sure, he and Yamato were... particularly strained in a Father and Daughter relationship, but as many times as he tries to make himself believe it, he wouldn't be able to kill Yamato.

The Destroyer, and he can't kill his own flesh and blood, huh?

He's staring at the Newspaper announcing Portgass's execution, sitting on his comfortable couch while he has one leg crossed and using his kneecap as a foothold.

''Well, I know for a fact I'm not telling Yamato about this.''

He did not need her to try and escape, again. This was growing annoying, and at the rate, things were going, he'd actually need to put on those damn cuffs or lock her up in a cage.

The only thing that would change, was she'd be put in a literal one, instead of a metaphorical one. She'd be left in a cell, with little to no more freedom left. At least before she had some, but if she pushed to far...

Eren truly hoped he wouldn't have to do that, but with how there was only 2 years left until his plan could start... well, he'd do what he had to do.

If she didn't cave in by then, then his hands would be tied, and he'd have to take action.

But that would only happen during the Fire Festival, 2 years from now on. And he'd get his answer then.

With that, Eren stroked his gradually growing goatee and went to his bathroom, which held a mirror.

He looked himself over at the mirror a single time, before coming to a decision.

''I think that's the length I'll leave it at.''

And he left.

Sometime later, after the War of the Summit, Eren was back on that couch, reading the Newspaper the same way he'd done it then.

And it told him quite a bit of news and what happened during the War.

For one, Sengoku retired. The new Fleet Admiral was, much to his surprise, Theo Magath. His late brothers superior officer as a Vice-Admiral. Indeed, the man was strong enough to be an Admiral, so it wasn't a surprise that he was chosen as Fleet-Admiral.

He's older than he remembers. Then again, last time he'd seen him was that damned day. And that was decades ago. The guy was older than him.

For another, apparently, the Marines went through Military drafting. And they found quite a bit of potential that wasn't found before. Shame himself, but oh well.

And third, and something he knows for a fact he isn't the only one paying attention to it...

Bertholdt died.

Apparently, fighting against the Revolutionary Army over Portgas D. Aces Devil-Fruit too. Makes sense, it was a Logia-type Devil-Fruit. Valuable.

Eren should feel absolutely happy one of the traitors died. And yet...

It just reminds him of how many people he'd once cared, are being lost as time passes.

The one's he cared about died. And one of those traitors was now dying...

Meanwhile, the Roger Pirates and Garp's entire family (minus Portgas D. Ace now, and he laughed out loud at that) are still alive and happy.

What a load of bullshit...

He clenches the Newspaper hard enough to the point where he rips a piece of it off.

Eren is watching over the mainland of Wano from Onigashima's roof, having just returned from the Flower Capital while he had a talk with Orochi. Now, he was just thinking as the Wind makes his Black furred on the edges coat dangle at the direction the wind pushes.

It felt slightly chilly, since he had half of his arm bare, with only a bracelet on both arms stopping his white shirt's sleeves from going any further, which left them tucked in as answer. The rest of his body however was well covered. Dark Pants matching Coat.

Age 68 and yet he still looked remarkably fine, if it was because of really good genetics or his Devil-Fruit at work, he was unsure. His plan would soon be able to start.

He simply has to wait a slight bit longer until the flower festival, which was just months away from now. After that, he had the Samurai's of Wano under his control, and he could begin.

40 years of waiting... and he was this close. He and his men had waited long enough.

Of course, Eren never told anyone but his most trusted advisor/Subordinates of his true plan. All of what he told the rest, was that he wanted a Grand War. And by all means, it wasn't a lie either.

It would be a War so grand it would dwarf anything else this world had seen. That? He could promise.

If it ended in the death of so many? Well... not like Yeager cared.

He was the Destroyer. A Creature like a Devil. Uncontrollable by any. The bloodlust of inhuman levels.

And Eren Yeager, always kept his promises.

And this Pirate Era Roger had given him, and Whitebeard had rekindled, was mighty convenient for him.

So many more pirates to recruit. So much more for him to obtain! And they had no idea of what they'd helped him do.

Eren couldn't help but smile. A creepy one formed on his face as he felt mirthful laughter escaping him.

''Soon, it will begin!''

He declared to the Heavens, both arms extended to the side while holding a still unopened Sake Bottle.

Soon, he would trample on the world.

And nothing would stop him.

Notes:

And so, we reach the end of the Emperor's story up to Canon. And I sure hope everyone reading this likes exactly what I've decided to do with Eren here.

By all means, he's planning to Execute the Rumbling here too. Just maybe not as... quickly or with as many 'Titans'. But he's got the means to do so after all this time building up power. The Emperors of the Sea shape up to be quite large-scale threats in the near future, considering what they have in mind and just how much they will shake the World.

Fun fact before I leave you all: I keep checking the sizes of OP characters, just to see that a good portion of them are always taller than Eren and Mikasa. Like, goodness, even normal humans are taller than them.

So yeah, when I do release a continuation, we will be delving into Canon territory. Don't know when I'll release that, but it will come one day.

Notes:

Something of Importance I have to mention, and which is going to stay in effect through this Series:

As some of you might notice, the timeline in this doesn't exactly match up with Canon. It wasn't originally planned, but once I actually checked a general timeline and some of the characters' ages, I realized that the entire God Valley Incident happens way, way sooner because of this. And some other characters are way, way younger too.

It's a problem I'm going to stick with and going to find a way to make it work. We'll see if it ends up being a good idea or not by the end of it.
