Always Watching

Summary:

Damian and Raven aren't dating. Dick believes otherwise.

Work Text:

Damian was putting the final touches on his look. He was going for the classic 'I'm-a-billionaire's-son-with-parental-issues' look. His outfit consisted of black jeans and a white turtle neck. His sleeves were rolled up to look less stuffy. Raven had once mentioned that sometimes he looked like he had a stick up his ass. He was gelling his hair back before his older brother busted into his room.

"Why didn't you tell me that you and Raven were dating?" This was the first thing Dick asked his younger brother. It was the first time Dick had been to the Manor in a month, and he had some serious questions.

"Raven and I are not dating," Damian denied hastily. He didn't lie. They weren't dating, they were having fun together as teens do. Did he have feelings for her? It's possible but he's a little emotionally constipated.

"Then what is this?" Dick showed Damian a photo on his phone. The photo was a screenshot from the Titan's Tower security feed and it showed Damian and Raven cuddling on a couch. A book lay forgotten on the floor, and a soft blanket was draped over them. Damian's face grew warm at the realization that they had been caught.

"An invasion of privacy," Damian deadpanned.

"So you two aren't dating?" Dick said, still very suspicious of his younger brother.

"Nope," Damian grabbed his only non-black jacket. He ushered Dick out of his room and began heading towards the entrance of the large home.

"Hey, where are you going?"Dick asked while waving his hands in the air.

"Out with Raven," Damian slammed the door behind him and left Dick with questionable thoughts. Dick mostly wondered if this was how he was when he was a teenager. He promptly decided he wasn't.

A normal older brother would accept that there would be secrets between him and his siblings. However, Dick Grayson wasn't the average brother. He, instead, tracked Damian down and decided to spy on him from an abandoned building's roof. If this wasn't crazy enough, it was about thirty degrees outside.

"There's no way they aren't dating," Looking through binoculars, Dick pointed out how Damian rested his head on Raven's lap.

"You brought all of us to Jump City to spy on Damian?" Jason removed his helmet to make sure he was hearing Dick correctly.

"Well, when you say it like that..." Dick said moving the binoculars away from his face.

"I'm leaving because when he catches you, you might die," Tim walked away shivering.

"Don't be a wet blanket, Tim," Dick shooed his younger brother away from the edge of the building.

"If being a wet blanket keeps me alive so I can see my boyfriend again, I'll be a wet blanket," Tim said grappling off the side of the building. It wasn't long before Duke followed Tim. Although, Duke left Dick with a Batman blanket to keep warm with.

"Jason, you in or you out," Dick patted the seat next to him.

"I'm in but wasn't Cass with us?" Jason said sitting on the edge of the building. He pulled a sandwich from his leather jacket and began to nibble on it.

"I think we should get her a bell,"

"Agreed,"

"How long do you think they'll be watching us?" Raven passed Damian a large bowl of popcorn. It was one of the few non-nutritional snacks that Damian didn't feel guilty about eating. This of course meant that Raven had some stockpiled in the Titan's Tower.

"Until the fools get bored," He said holding his arms out for Raven to fall into. She laid a blanket over them and began to munch on the popcorn.

"I think it's sweet," Raven popped some of the salty treats into her mouth.

"It's overbearing," Damian grunted and wrapped his arms around her.

"It's how they show they care," Neither of them knew how to give up easily. It's what made the friendship work.

"You're right," Damian gently moved strands of her purple hair out of her face. Her pale face blushed under his touch. Her dark eyes looked at him like he could do no wrong. It was as if she had faith in him.

"I know, "He didn't actually disagree with her. He just liked listening to the sound of her voice. If her voice was a drug, it was his addiction.

"Can I kiss you?" Raven asked, looking into his green eyes. His tan skin gained a pink undertone and his eyes widened.

"You want to kiss me," Damian stated slowly, making sure that he understood what the demoness said. While they've gotten close, they have never kissed. Sure, they've fallen asleep together and cuddled, but kissing always seemed like an invisible line.

"No, I just cuddle and eat popcorn while being watched by two grown men with anyone," Raven's sarcasm was unmatched by anyone on the Titans, and it's one of the things Damian liked about her.

"You're very funny," Damian's head raised to meet Raven's. Her lips were soft and Damian decided to keep that to memory. He would remember how his hands found the curve of her back. He would remember how red her cheeks had gotten.

"I knew it!"
