This chapter is to sort out any confusion ahead of time so that you can read the story without trying to figure out who’s who. You can skip this if you want.
Time and place are irrelevant. Neo City is a made-up town and so is everything else in this story.

Cheif is the head, he handles all the affairs related to his station.
Assistant Cheif takes care of matters that directly affect the officers under him and the station.
Detectives on the field are the ones that handle cases and run investigations regarding bigger cases.
Investigators do all the back-office work for the detectives like running prints, getting info and such.
Senior Inspectors handle local cases and essentially overlook what Inspectors are doing.
Response units are the people taking calls and bringing in cases for the rest of the team.
Inspectors are juniors who do all the dirty work investigating crimes.
Officers are junior most. They are fresh blood and are training to climb the ladder.
I know none of this makes sense but this is my story and if I say it makes sense. It makes sense.
