Work Text:
"Babe, I don't think that's right." Minji giggles, watching Yoohyeon struggle to get the move right.
The air bender did look a bit funny, and even if the girl was excellent at fire bending, there were just certain times.
The raven walks up behind the blonde, pushing her arms to the right spots. Her hand reaches up to the blonde's fingers, that are nowhere in the right positions, and tries to adjust her fingers. But Yoohyeon intertwines their fingers together, spinning the raven around and into her hold that it simply makes Minji's heart race as she looks at the blonde.
When Yoohyeon smiles, it makes her go even crazier. "Hi." Yoohyeon breathes.
The firebender is flabbergasted at how she managed to fall into the younger's trap because now, she's thinking about completely disregarding the fire bending lesson and instead staying in the Yoohyeon's hold just a bit longer.
Truthfully, she's exhausted. The fire kingdom had celebrations upon celebrations once Minsuk had turned 15. She didn't mind them though, she loved her brother and was happy to spend it with him.
So when the blonde keeps her arms around her waist tightly, all the raven wanted to do was melt into her embrace.
"Don't you think we've trained for long enough for today? You look exhausted." Yoohyeon's face is one of concern.
They had been having lessons almost everyday for hours. But that wasn't any of their faults, as they got lost in the motions fire bending used.
Minji responds with a hum, too drowsy to form complete words as she snuggles her head into the blonde's neck.
The blonde takes it as a sign that they were done for today, looking at the tired girl in her arms. "Alright, let's get you home."
Although, the raven whines, her grip around Yoohyeon tightens, not wanting to leave their position. So, Minji jumps onto the younger, koala hugging the girl.
All it does is elicits a laugh from Yoohyeon, the blonde placing her arms around the raven tightly as she begins walking.

Whipped, is the word Minsuk likes to describe Minji's relationship.
But the raven really couldn't help it. Not when an angel like Yoohyeon likes her. She would like to spend most of her time in the younger's arms.
But is that possible? No....
She groans when she's woken up by one of the palace helpers. Because, once again, she is the heir to the throne. Which means there's more things that need to be covered as the fire nation's princess.
But it also means that Minsuk was finally old enough to learn. So he couldn't get out of his duties this time around. The thought of Minsuk whining while having to learn about the laws of the fire nation simply makes Minji perk up (knowing she could tease him about it after.)
She is dressed accordingly, her gold headpiece sitting on top of her bun. Sternness reigns through her body as soon as it was placed on her. Appearance in the public was crucial, she didn't like looking out of it, knowing she'd get chewed out by her mother.
There's already an aching headache making its way to her head, thinking about all the things she needs to remember to do correctly.
"After you're done, we could go out and take a swim. I'm sure you'll need just swimming around and relaxing. I'll even bring snacks." Yoohyeon offered, her chin on the palm of her hand. She looked up at the raven suggestively.
Well, she brightens up, remembering the offer Yoohyeon had brought up. It's a thought worth imagining, staying in the cold water and simply relaxing with the air bender.
So, she remembers what she needs to do.
The citizens of the fire nation bow their heads as they walked pass. Even though Minji became stern while in position of the fire nation's princess, she was kind, helping out the small markets whenever they needed it.
"Princess Minji!" The raven hears a voice call out her name and she is quick to turn her head.
A boy with brown hair and glasses was smiling up at her. The raven kneels down, ruffling the boy's hair. "Hello, Gunwoo."
The boy always visited often. Minji liked seeing him and the brown teddy bear he always carried.
Gunwoo giggles as the raven ruffles his hair. He reaches over to give Minji a hug, the raven placing her arms around him tightly. "You haven't visited in a while. I missed you so much!" He pokes the girl's stomach, earning a fake whine from her.
She pulls back to look at the boy, patting down his hair. "I'm sorry, palace duties have gotten a lot these days. I wish I could lessen them." A frown reaches her lips.
Gunwoo sadly nods but then brightens up. "Hey, but didn't you say I could meet Yoohyeon soon?"
Minji's eyes widens, placing her hand over the boy's mouth, looking around for anyone who could've possibly heard. She soon feels teeth bite at her skin, flinching as she pulls her hand back and glared at Gunwoo childishly.
Minji rolls her eyes as Gunwoo mockingly chomps at her. "No biting." The firebender warns the boy.
Gunwoo grips his teddy bear tighter, crossing his arms and fixing his glasses. "I need to make sure Yoohyeon is Gunwoo certified."
The sentence reminds the raven of her brother, and she pushes back the boy's head with her finger, mentally face palming before looking back at the boy.
"Aren't you like 8? Where are you learning these big words from?" Minji raises her eyebrow.
Gunwoo shrugs. "Minsuk." He replies subtly.
Well, no wonder.
Minji nods in amusement before standing up and dusting her knees. "Well, I have to go back to my duties. I'll ask if Yoohyeon is free and maybe you can one day meet her." She gives the boy a wink before turning around and walking away with the rest of the Royal palace.

Being the princess of the fire nation is not easy.
Minji knows its a lot of work, where it has gotten to the point she was stressed. Although, she never showed in public, Yoohyeon was definitely able to notice it with ease when they were together.
"Minji, relax." Yoohyeon tries, pulling her closer so she's flushed again her chest.
The raven is breathing hard, tears brimming down her cheeks. She doesn't know what's going on but all she knew was that she was crying. Her head is aching badly that she feels sweat stream down her face.
But the airbender holds her tight, bringing in wind from the open windows into the room. Her fingers thread through Minji's long dark locks as she whispers sweet nothings into her ear.
It wasn't like she was ever taken care of. The raven spent most of her time fighting for attention from her parents, so she learnt how to do everything from her uncle Iroh. Although, there were times where he was too busy, he never forgot to check up on his niece.
When she's with Yoohyeon, she allows the airbender to pamper her. The blonde keeps her safe away from her worries and her duties, even if it's just a small bit a day.
She follows the younger's instructions, taking the time to breathe in and out deeply. Minji calms down slowly, snuggling her head more into Yoohyeon's chest, not caring about staining her yellow shirt with tears.
Continuing to stroke her hair, the blonde presses soft kisses everywhere she can. "You're okay, you're alright." Yoohyeon whispers.
It's hard not to be okay, especially when the blonde acts so precious and caring. But Yoohyeon doesn't force her out of her shell, she lets the firebender take time to gather herself together (staying with Minji until the raven was ready). And the raven likes not being quickly forced to talk about her feelings or being told how to feel.
The concept of perfection was perceived in different ways toward the firebender. It could've been because of how her father described the terrible ways his father, Azulon deceived perfection as something it wasn't.
So, Minji made it something she sought it out to be.
She knows the airbender isn't perfect, because of the way Yoohyeon accidentally hits her hip at the corner of the wood table almost every other day that the raven had lost count. But the blonde was Minji's closest definition of perfect.
The way she smiles, the way she cutely scratches her head whenever she makes the wrong movement while fire bending, and how she's never afraid to speak out for what is right. The raven could go on and on and it shocks her to know she met the avatar just at a body of water practicing her water bending skills.
Yoohyeon never overwhelms her at times, allowing for Minji to take the time to be able to proceed with her thoughts fully. Something she can't do in front of the Royal palace and citizens of the fire nation.
With their legs tangled under the white bed sheet, Minji feels comfortable. Even with her body heating up, Yoohyeon's sense of movement kept air blowing in from outside unconsciously, keeping her cool.
Despite her head still aching, she feels it slowly peaking down after being offered by a cure from the herbalist from Handong and Yubin.
When Minji shuffles in the blonde's arms, the airbender looks down her, pausing in running her fingers through dark locks.
"Are you okay?" Yoohyeon gently asks.
Minji slowly nods, her grip on the blonde's shirt loosening a bit. She no longer was crying but instead let sleep slowly take over her.
The blonde presses a kiss into her hair, letting Minji get the well deserved rest she needed.

There should be an annual "Minji don't let Gunwoo and Yoohyeon in the same room" national day everyday.
She couldn't believe her eyes, Gunwoo immediately gaining power over the blonde girl who was on the floor, trying to get the boy off of her.
Minji watches, awkwardly amused at the two fighting. She's not sure what the airbender did to possibly deserve Gunwoo's wrath, all she knew was to keep an eye on the boy's brown teddy bear.
Gunwoo does his special move, digging his teeth into the blonde's shoulder, earning a loud yell from the girl.
"Why do you have such sharp teeth!?" Yoohyeon screams, trying to remove the boy's mouth from her shoulder.
Looking up, she sees a cup of water sitting on a small stool. Quickly, she extends her arm above her then pushes her fingers forward, splashing water onto the boy. He splutters, wiping water from his face and finally letting go of the blonde's shoulder.
She quickly gets up with Gunwoo over her shoulder. The boy kicks around, his arms flailing. "Put me down!"
Yoohyeon shakes her head, flicking her hand up and hearing the boy cough. "Only if you promise you won't try to fight me again." Yoohyeon tells him with a slight tone.
The boy goes quiet before sighing. "I promise." He replies lowly, guilt tracing in his voice.
The airbender places him down and reaches to fix his glasses. "So how was that? Do you think she fell for it?" Yoohyeon whispers to him.
Gunwoo takes a quick peak to the side before smiling at Yoohyeon. "I think so, I'm a good actor. So there's no way she didn't fall for it."
The blonde nods her head in agreement. "Come on, I'll get you some food." She stands up and begins walking toward a certain direction.
A small hand slips into her's and holds her hand tightly, all while Minji is looking at their figures from the back. A fond smile reaches her lips before running over to hold the blonde's other hand, her other hand grasping her arm.

When Yoohyeon steps out in her swimsuit, Minji smiles at her.
Wowzers
She feels a tap on her shoulder, turning around. Yoohyeon's in front of her with her hair tied into a loose ponytail and she looks stunning in the sunlight.
"Let's get in the pool?" The blonde points behind her.
She lets the airbender pull her into the pool slowly, knowing that the water was probably cold.
Once she got comfortable in the water, Minji swims from one side to the other multiple times. The blonde watches from the side, impressed by the girl's speed.
The raven notices Yoohyeon standing on the side of the pool, so she swims over. "Your turn. I wonder how fast you are."
The airbender raises her eyebrow, "Are you challenging me?" She asks, her voice executing her words with a tone.
Minji feels her heart speed up, turning her head around while trying to fight a shy smile.
Yoohyeon swims over to the short end of the pool and pushes her hair back. Minji leans against the long side of pool, subtly watching her.
The blonde pushes herself from the wall strongly, surging toward the other side. Her arms swish side to side along with her body, quickly getting her to the other side. The firebender isn't sure she even sees Yoohyeon in water because of how fast she was actually going.
It takes exactly a minute for Yoohyeon to finish 10 rounds, Minji in awe at her performance.
Pushing her hair back once again, she swims over to Minji.
"So?"
The raven doesn't say anything but instead stares at the younger girl. It doesn't take long before she pulls the airbender into a heated kiss.
Although, Yoohyeon is surprised by the raven's sudden move, she kisses back with just the same fervor.
Minji's arm wraps around the blonde's neck loosely, her hand resting on her shoulder as Yoohyeon engulfs her lips hungrily. It's a side of Yoohyeon she's never seen before but she likes the way the blonde pulls her even closer.
The blonde pulls away for a second, watching as Minji keeps her eyes closed, dazedly waiting for Yoohyeon to connect their lips again. So, she doesn't keep Minji waiting, leaning in to press her lips against Minji's soft ones again.
Fingers tickle at Minji's sides before arms wrap around her back. The raven hums into the blonde's mouth, flipping them around so Yoohyeon's the one pressed against the wall. Their lips don't separate, but the firebender feels as if she's going crazy with the way the blonde kisses her with confidence. Like Minji was her everything.
She didn't have to think about anything else. She didn’t have to think about being the fire nation's princess but instead she thought about how she was Yoohyeon's and how Yoohyeon was her's.
Pulling away, she looked at Yoohyeon. The blonde's lips were red and swollen, slightly parted. They kept their eyes locked, searching deep in the dark abysses. Minji found nothing but love and fondness in Yoohyeon's brown eyes.
"I love you." Yoohyeon admits lowly.
All Minji does is smile brightly, nuzzling their noses together. "I love you too, Yoohyeon. So much."
And she does love Yoohyeon.
***
Minji cracks her knuckles and tugs on her fingers confidently. "Are you sure you want to do this, Hyeon?" She asks the other girl.
Yoohyeon narrows her eyes in competitiveness. "Yes, I'm sure, babe. I need to practice anyways." She walks back a bit, pushing her hand up.
The blonde has been able to generate lightning, not just redirect it with the help of the firebender. It's the second skill the avatar has actually struggled with but got it down within a few weeks.
Minji charges at Yoohyeon, bringing her fist down at her with a whoosh of fire. The blonde ducks her head, leaping back. She falls backwards, catching her self with her hands upside down and kicks her feet upward. Fire blasts at the raven, barely missing as Minji bends backwards.
Yoohyeon does a kick up to get back on her feet.
Minji smirks at her. "You almost had me there."
Sticking out her tongue, the blonde goes back to her position. She bends down to hit the floor before lifting her upper body up and fisting her hand forward, fire running along with it. The heat is getting hotter and hotter everytime Yoohyeon took a second to compose herself.
Minji rotates her upper body, her hand swinging in a circular motion as the wave of fire charges at her. Once it hits her, she keeps her hands flat, one hand high above facing upright, and the other facing upside down. She pushes her hands forward and redirects the fire back at the blonde.
Easily swiping it up into the air to dissipate, Yoohyeon jumps into the air, flipping forward with her leg sticking out.
"There, Yoohyeon!" Minji yells, instructing for the blonde to channel it now.
Yoohyeon feels her body slightly shake as lightning strikes the firebender's hand cuffs. The impact doesn't seem to phase Minji, the raven leaping up into cheers.
Running over to the girl, she smiles. "You did it, Yoohyeon!"
But the blonde isn't responding. Minji's face squeezes in worry, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Hyeon...."
Suddenly, Yoohyeon turns around, her arms opening wide as blue fire escapes from her mouth. It lasts for a few seconds before the girl collapses to her knees.
Minji's eyes widen as she sees the airbender on her knees with her head down. She runs over to the girl, crouching down and pulls her into her arms.
With her hand on the blonde's cheek, she makes Yoohyeon look up at her. Her face is drenched with sweat. "I guess that's enough for today. Are you okay?" The raven asks her, worry written on her face.
Yoohyeon nods. "I'm sorry, generating lightning takes out a lot from me. But I do think that's the first time I've brought out blue fire." She tiredly chuckles.
At the sound of the younger's chuckle, Minji wants to hit the girl for going beyond her limits. Yoohyeon did that a lot, doing more than her body could take at times.
Minji pouts, stroking the airbender's cheek with her thumb. "Seriously, Hyeon. You should've told me that you were at your limit."
Sitting up, the blonde keeps her head down.
"But I don't want to seem weak." Yoohyeon's voice comes to a tiny volume.
The raven's heart breaks at the sight of Yoohyeon and she reaches over to cup her cheeks to make her look up at her.
"Yoohyeon, I promise it doesn't make you weak, baby. There's nothing wrong with stopping before your limits. I didn't want you to get hurt, please." Minji's eyes are almost filling with tears at the airbender's exhausted form.
Yoohyeon soon nods, standing up. She extends her hand down to pull Minji up.
As they walk back home, Minji intertwines their fingers together, their hands fitting perfectly in each other's.
"I still think that blue fire blow made me feel like a dragon."
"Yoohyeon!"
