Work Text:

Denji's done it. He's fucked up. He knew he shouldn't have opened the door.

Why did he listen to Makima? Because he was her dog? But it was so, so clear that she said she was gonna kill her the second he opened the door.

Denji stood there shocked, standing just outside the door and in front of Power's cold, blown up, unmoving body with only her head and lower half remaining with no sign of life.

It all happened so fast.

Denji felt like he was going to throw up, the shock being replaced by disgust at the sight of the scene.

All he could do was watch the chaos unfold.

Why would Makima do this?

She was the one who introduced Power to him.

Why does he care about Power?

All she ever did was cause trouble to him!

She even tried to kill him for God's sake!

So why does he even care that she died?

He feels like crying, he wants to cry, but he can't cry. Has he truly lost all of his humanity since he lost his heart?

A million questions kept running through his mind until-

"Your hands are quite cold, let's go back inside."
