A Look at the Sky, Before I Die

Summary:

.
.
.
“You’re the sun, the moon, the sky. I’m just the stars that decorate it.”
.
.
.
"I may be the sun, I may be the sky
But the stars, they always shine bright
The sky always has a place for the stars
As no one would notice it without their light"
.
.
.

An AU crossover where Aether and Lumine are survivors. Lumine loses the only light in her life and Paimon is really sly. Aether helps Lumine in finding out the worth of the stars. Angst, angst, fluff and angst.

More tags to be added in the future.

Notes:

I did a shit ton world building to reach here. This has been lying in my draft for about two weeks now. Thanks again to Nix 1 for the advice.

Hope you enjoy it.

Chapter Text

Her shaking hands, baked in crimson, were covered with blisters. Her eyes burnt and she was out of breath. No amount of fire could make her feel warm.

Lumine was a coward and is a coward. She ran from there. She is a worthless sister. Weak, and useless.

She couldn’t protect her brother, she couldn’t protect Khaen’riah.

Beep…

Beep…

Beep…

His eyes felt heavy. Aether pulled his eyelids open, a strange sound filling his ears. He looked around. A room, a bed and a young woman.

“Huuhff”

He heard a loud ‘eep!’ coming from the woman beside him. She looked at him wide eyed, her lips slightly parted. She let out a soft gasp and muttered something.

“You’re conscious!”

.

.

.

Dr. Kreideprinz Albedo

“I…”

Aether twiddled his forefingers. His red and chewed out bottom lip was quivering. A lock from his now braided hair loosened and fell stray, caressing his cheeks. His hair had grown long and luscious over the years.

“Don’t force yourself, it’ll come to you, eventually.”

Aether struggled to keep up the eye contact. He was nervous, and lost. At the pit of his stomach was a complicated feeling. He felt like shit.

He looked up into Albedo’s cerulean eyes. His eyes seemed to be just as dull as Aether’s, both lacking the usual spark.

“I- I will try my hardest…”

Albedo gave him a small smile. It was his turn to leave.

A coma…huh?

He tried his best to remember, but his memory was too fuzzy. He felt guilty. He couldn’t even remember his own sister’s face.

Dr. Albedo had explained his situation to him. It had been years since Aether had seen the light of the day. He looked out of his room’s window, his pale and sensitive skin burning lightly. He lazily knotted his hair into a loose bun and stretched his arms. He was careful not to pull on the needle and pipe that pierced his veins. It was connected to an IV Drip to hydrate him.

His sister had gone missing 5 years ago. It was for the same amount of time that he was in a coma. So, he was 20 now.

His tear glands were acting up. The next thing he knew, he was crying. Big salty tears fell from his eyes and he tried covering up. He knew he had to find his sister because after all, she was all he had left.

Her skin burnt and her wounds were fresh. They shone with a deep red, glistening by the bonfire. She was done crying. Crying would do her no good.

She escaped, that was all that mattered right now

She swore revenge against the cursed system.

“I’ll destroy them all, I will kill those wretched Shinigamis”

Notes:

This is going to be one hell of a ride and surely, REALLY long. Twin angst is always amazing, I just love exploring the dynamics of the two. Someone please free Lumi!!
