“Here is your Tea, Miss Claire.”
“Thank you as always Rei.”
“No need to thank me.”
It has been a little bit over a week since Miss Claire started supporting the commoners by providing food to them
and people already looked at her in a different way from other nobles.
If this keeps up, then everything should go as planned. But the exhaustion really shows on Miss Claire’s expression.
“Miss Claire, how about you relax for the rest of the day.”
“No, I can’t do that. I need to do much more than I already did!”
“But if you end up collapsing, it’s also not going to help anyone in the end.”
“...That… is true… alright I can take it a little bit easier, but only for today.”
“Great, then we can have even more lovey dovey time for ourselves!”
“I don’t even know what you mean by that but I feel like it’s nothing good coming from you.”
“Oh my Miss Claire, how naughty of you to think that.”
“But you were the one saying it!?”
Yes, Miss Claire is as cute as always. But I felt like I needed to do something for her to make her relax more. But what could I ... .wait, I got it!
“I need to do something so go ahead and rest up, Miss Claire.”
“I was about to do that even without you telling me to.”
“Oh, is it finally Tsun Tsun time?”
“What even is Tsun Tsun Time?! Just go and let me rest already!”

After departing from Miss Claire’s room, I am heading towards the kitchen. Hopefully they got everything I needed.
Luckily I already had the things the school doesn’t provide because of my regular baking.
“Let’s see….yes that should be everything!
In front of me I put together a bottle of milk, another bottle of Cream, a few eggs, my self provided sugar,
the cooking utensils, a few flavor enhancements for sweets and the most important special ingredient.
I start by making a custard base by mixing the sugar and some egg yolks to which I proceed to slowly add the
simmering milk-cream mixture. The key here is to take your time because otherwise you would end up with
scrambled eggs. After that I’m adding my flavor add-ons and the special ingredient making the mixture complete.
Next I’m using my magic to fill up a big bowl with ice in which I then place my container with the mixture.
“Now all I need to do is be patient. I wonder how Miss Claire will react. I can’t wait for her to try it later!”
Now all I needed to do was watch for the temperature to stay at an ideal state while stirring every now and
then to avoid it from forming ice crystals. By this time you probably guessed it already but the thing I’m making
is ice cream. Since the world of Revolution was set to play in Medieval Europe, there was no such thing as ice cream
around so it would be the first time for Miss Claire to taste something like this.
Come to think of it, Miss Claire and her followers really enjoyed the chocolate dishes from Broumet.
I should try to make a chocolate ice cream version in the future as well. Anyway let’s go back to stirring!

*Later that day*
..nnng how long did I sleep…”
“Good Morning Miss Claire.”
“It’s not even morning time.”
“It’s all about sentiment.”
“What does that even…no I’m still not fully awake for that type of exchange.”
“You slept for a few hours. How do you feel now?”
“I feel much better. Thank you for worrying.”
“Anything for my precious Miss Claire!”
“Yes yes I get it. What did you even do while I was asleep? You hopefully didn’t just sit here watching me.”
“I was in the kitchen making a new type of confectionery.”
“Oh? I admit that I’m a little bit interested in that.”
“Do you want some right now? But you just woke up so maybe it’s better if we waited a little bit.”
“Doesn’t matter, we can go ahead right away.”
“Oh I actually knew that you’d say that so I prepared them ahead of time!”
“...It’s actually kind of scary how well prepared you are at times like these.”
“Oh it makes me happy that you think that way.”
“That wasn't a compliment!”
Already having everything prepared for serving, I proceeded to place the ice cream, which is in a flat bowl on the table.
“Oh what is this? It doesn’t look anything like the other confectionaries you made before.”
“This is ice cream, a combination of milk, cream and sugar which I chilled to become solid.”
“Where do you even learn all that stuff? Everything you make is on par with Broumet.”
“I just have a lot of practice.”
“Oh right, I remember you saying that when you made me the other dish when we joined the academy knights.”
“It makes me happy that you remember that but you should probably start eating it now before it melts.”
“Oh, excuse me then.”
…
“It kinda tastes like… ! Wait, are there strawberries in there?!”
“As expected of Miss Claire, yes I added strawberries as a secret ingredient for the flavor of the ice cream.”
“How do you even know that I like strawberries? I don’t think I ever told you.”
“A maiden has her little secrets.”
“Who is a maiden here?! But I have to say, this tastes unbelievably good. The texture is smooth with
a few little bits of strawberries in there and the coldness is perfect for the still higher temperatures right now.”
“As a side note, you can make this with chocolate as well.”
“How do you know that? Chocolate is very expensi- Oh wait you do have quite a bit of money.”
“I can make you some at another time if you want.”
“...yes I’d like Pipi, Loretta and Catherine to have some as well.”
“As you wish, Miss Claire.”
Looks like my plan of having Miss Claire take it easy for a day was a total success!
Hopefully my other plans moving forward are also working out. It won’t be too long until the main event starts…
