Chapter Text
The sound of a video game echoed through the bedroom of young Peter Parker. He currently had a cold and was stuck in bed. So to help ease his misery he was playing video games to pass the time.
He coughed as he pressed buttons on his controller making his character move around. He vigorously continued to press buttons until the screen said game over. He huffed in frustration and glared at his TV. Just as he was about to start over his aunt walked into his room.
"Guess what." She said walking over to him. "Your grandfather is here." She said with a smile as she fluffed up his pillow and took his controller, setting it on his nightstand.
"Can't you just tell him that I'm sick?" Peter said with a cough.
"You are sick yes, that's why he's here." She said ruffling his hair.
"He'll pinch my cheek, I hate that." He said grumpily. His aunt shrugged with a smile. "Maybe he won't."
Peter give her a look that showed he didn't believe her and moved his head to the door as it opened.
His grandfather walked through and smiled, extending his arms in a joyous greeting. In his hands he held a wrapped package and his jacket. He walked over to Peter and pinched his cheek. "How's the sickie?" He asks. Peter glared at his Aunt giving her the "I told you so" look as his grandfather pinched his cheek.
His aunt laughed lightly and stood up walking over to the door. "I'll just leave you two pals alone." She says and leaves his room shutting the door behind her.
"I brought you a special present." His grandfather said and handed Peter the package he carried. Peter smiled at him hoping it was a new video game, but as he opened it he found that it was just an old book that was titled, "The Princess Bride".
"What is it?" Peter asked trying to smile and hide his disappointment. "A book?".
His grandfather smiled happily oblivious to Peter's disappointment. "That's right! When I was your age television was called books. And this book is a very special book. It was the one my father read to me when I was sick. And the one I read to your father. And now I'm going to read it to you".
"Does it got any sports?" Peter asked trying to find something enjoyable about it.
His grandfather's eyes lit up with excitement. "Are you kidding me? Fencing. Fighting. Torture. Revenge. Giants. Monsters. Chases. Escapes. True love. Miracles."
"Well, it doesn't sound too bad. I'll try and stay awake." Peter said as his grandfather pulled up a chair next to his bed and sat down. He opened the book and began to read.
"The Princesse Bride. Chapter one. Y/n was raised on a small farm in the country of Asgard..."
———————————————————————————
Y/n was a beautiful young woman with (h/c) hair and (e/c) eyes. She lived on a small farm in the country of Asgard and her favorite pastimes were riding her horse and tormenting the farm boy who worked on her father's farm.
His name was Loki but she never called him that, she always referred to him as farm boy and nothing else. One summers evening she rode back on her horse to the stables where Loki was working.
"Farmboy." She called from on top of her horse gaining Loki's attention. "Polish my saddle. I want to see my face shine in it by morning." She said hopping off her horse and handing him the reins.
"As you wish." He replied softly watching as she walked away. 'As you wish' was all he ever said to her.
Two days later y/n was in her horse's stall brushing him. She spotted Loki and called to him. "Farmboy. I want you to varnish my horse's hoofs...please." She said softly as their eyes met.
"As you wish," Loki said again softly.
Two more days went by until their next interaction. Y/n stood in the kitchen putting pots away when Loki walked in. "Farmboy." She called almost as soon as she saw him. He turned to face her waiting patiently for her order. She looked around for something to tell him to do. She looked up and spotted a pitcher. "Fetch me that pitcher." She said pointing to the one above her head.
Loki walked up to her and reached above her head not once breaking eye contact with her. He lowered it slowly and placed it in her hands. "As you wish". He said in a whisper.
As Loki walked away out of the kitchen Y/n watched and discovered that when he said "as you wish" what he meant was "I love you".
Later that night as she lay in bed thinking about him, she was amazed to discover that she truly loved him back. The next morning she sought him out and confessed how she felt to him.
She walked to where he lived, a little shack by the animals. She knocked on his door and anxiously chewed on her lip. Just when she was about to give up and go back to her bedroom, the door opened revealing Loki. "Uh hello." She said nervously trying to gather her thoughts and form the words she wanted to say to him.
He remained silent and waited for her to say something. "Farmboy. I wish to confess something to you that I've realized." Y/n took a deep breath and continued. "I love you. I have loved you for some time now. I know it seems impossible because all I ever do is order you around and tease you. But it is true and I can not go on another day without you knowing." She rambled, taking a deep breath as she finished. Slowly she looked up to meet his sea-green eyes. He blinked once then shut the door in her face.
Y/n's heart sunk to her feet as she realized he had shut the door in her face. She slowly turned around and took three slow steps as if she was in shock before she bolted. She ran as far as her legs would carry her and then collapsed against a tree and burst into tears.
She had been sure he felt the same about her. But she had been wrong. She sat against the tree watched the waves from the beach off in the distance crash against the shore. Eventually, she ran out of tears but she refused to go back.
As the sunset she breathed in the warm air that blew up from the sea and sat with an empty head, refusing to think of him. Then she heard someone clear their throat behind her and turned her head in surprise. It was Loki.
She cleared her own throat and stood up trying to look calm and at ease. "Ah farm boy. I apologize for this morning. I think I was running a fever and-". "I'm leaving". Loki said cutting her off. Her stomach turned and suddenly she felt like throwing up.
"Is it because of what I said to you this morning?" She said softly trying to keep her voice level.
"Yes". He replied simply.
"Have I scared you away?" She asked trying to remain calm.
"I'm going to seek my fortune across the sea.
"Do you love me Loki? Is that why you're leaving? If so I don't understand." Y/n said to him.
Loki looked at her disbelievingly. "Do I love you? I have stayed all these years to work on your father's farm. Every time you'd order me around calling me "farmboy" I would always say "as you wish". But you must know it is not what I meant. I've always meant I love you, you just never heard it." He said with a sad edge to his voice.
"I hear you now and I promise you this. I will never love anyone else for as long as I shall live". Y/n vowed to him.
Loki smiled a true smile and nodded. "And I the same." He said walking towards her and wrapping his arms around her gently.
She embraced him back and smiled softly. Her heart was mended, knowing he had loved her all along.
As the sun set below the horizon Y/n and Loki shared their first passionate kiss.
"Hold it! Hold it!"
———————————————————————————
"Are you tricking me grandpa, is this a trick?" Peter said unhappily as his grandfather looked up from the book at him confused as to why he interrupted him.
"What? What is it?" His grandfather asked not understanding.
"Where're the sports? Is this just a kissing book?" Peter asked with a disgusted face squinting his eyes at him in an accusatory manner.
His grandfather rolled his eyes teasingly at Peter. "Be patient." He said simply getting ready to start reading again.
"Well, when does it get good?" Peter said sitting back against his pillows and crossing his arms.
"Keep your shirt on and let me read." His grandfather said clearing his throat and finding where he was in the book.
"Loki had no money for marriage so he went through with his plan to search the seas for it. He packed his few belongings and got ready to leave..."
———————————————————————————
Y/n sadly stood with Loki before he began his journey. It was a very emotional time for her.
"I fear I'll never see you again," Y/n said sadly hugging Loki. "Of course you will". He reassured her softly stroking her hair.
"But what if something happens to you?" She said worriedly as she hugged him even tighter.
Loki pushed her back slightly so he could look at her face. "Hear this now. I will always come for you." He said kissing her forehead gently.
"How can you be sure?" Y/n asked nervously.
"This is true love, do you think this happens every day?". He asked her with a smile. She smiled back at him and pecked his lips, hugging him closer to herself once more.
Loki pulled away and kissed her once more before shouldering his and setting out down the path to his fortune.
Y/n watched sadly as he walked away. But deep down she knew she would see him again.
Chapter 2: Chapter Two
Notes:
Here's chapter two (I'm gonna edit all of these when I have the energy btw)
Chapter Text
It was a peaceful day when Y/n got the terrible news. The notorious Dread Pirate Fury had captured Loki's ship, and everyone knew he kept no prisoners. When y/n got the news that Loki had been murdered, she went into her room and didn't come out for weeks. She neither ate nor slept for days. She only ate enough to stay alive.
She remained sitting by her fire and starred at it with a broken heart.
"I will never love again". She said with no emotion, knowing her words to be true.
Years past and Y/n's grief never faded, but she soon found that she could hide it much easier.
Five years after Loki's tragic death, the Prince of Asgard, Tony Stark was picking a bride. Y/n's beauty had only grown as she aged, and she was by far the most beautiful in all of Asgard.
One day while y/n was riding her horse she came across the prince and his people on a hunting trip. Prince Tony saw her once and knew he had to pick her as his bride.
And while the law of the land gave Prince Tony the right to choose his bride, Y/n would never love him.
A week after their meeting, Y/n was in clothes fit for a princess waiting in the town to be introduced to the people as the new queen to be.
"My people!" Prince Tony called out gaining everyone in the squares attention. "A month from now our country will be celebrating its five hundredth anniversary." He said projecting his voice to all.
"On that sundown. I shall marry a lady who was once a commoner like yourself..." He said taking a small pause.
"But perhaps you will not find her common anymore". He said extending his arm in the direction of a grand staircase that led down to the crowd. On the top of the stairs was y/n standing gracefully.
"My people, Princess Y/n!" He said as trumpets began to blare. Y/n slowly descended the stairs raking her eyes across the large crowd.
Y/n looked across the crowd with sad eyes. While she had no choice but to marry Prince Tony, she did not want to. She would rather live out her days on her farm, where she last saw her farm boy.
Hours after y/n was introduced to the people of Asgard she got ready to ride her horse, the one thing she had left that brought her joy.
She saddled her horse and hopped on him. She had changed from the ceremony and now wore a red dress and a pair of black riding pants and boots.
She flicked the reins and set off through the gates of the town and into the forest. As she rode she felt free. Her head and heart felt clear and she, for a moment, forgot all of her pain and worry's.
As she rode, in the distance she saw three men standing. She slowed her horse to a stop and looked at the three men, the waters of Asgard behind them.
"A word my lady," The shortest of the three said.
"We are but poor lost circus performers. Is there a village near by?" The man asked her.
Y/n shook her head softly trying to hide her rising fear of these men. She knew for a fact there was no circus anywhere near Asgard so these men had to be lying.
"I'm afraid not, there's nothing for miles". She said kindly getting ready to flick her horses reins.
The man smiled. "Then there will be no one to hear you scream". He said snapping his fingers which caused the tallest of the men to walk over to her and reach for her neck.
Y/n tried to scream but was cut off as the tallest man squeezed a pressure point on her neck causing her to instantly pass out.
The tallest man picked her up off the horse and began to walk back to the ship docked at the shore behind them.
The short man walked over to y/n's horse and began fiddling with the patch on the horses blanket. "What is the you are doing Clint?" The middle man asked.
"It's fabric on the horses blanket with the sigil of Asgard. If I rip it off they will have no choice but to think Florin soldiers have kidnapped their princess". Clint explained without turning his head to face him.
"Who's Florin?" The large man asked as he set y/n down on the ship floor gently.
"The country across the sea. The sworn enemy of Asgard." Clint said smacking the horses flank sending him running back to the city.
Clint turned back to the two men and walked over the ship. "Once the horse reaches the castle the ripped fabric will make the prince think his love has been taken by Florin soldiers. When he finds her body dead in the Florin frontier, his suspicions will be totally confirmed". He said jumping on the ship.
The largest man frowned. "You never said anything about killing anyone". He said.
Clint rolled his eyes. "I hired you to help me start a war. It's a very prestigious line of work with a long and glorious tradition". He explained with an agitated tone to his voice.
"I just don't think it's right, killing an innocent girl". The large man said disagreeing with Clint.
Clint whirled around even more upset at him now. "Am I going mad? Or did the word "think" escape your lips? You were not hired for your brains you land mass". Clint yelled.
"I agree with Thor" The middle man said.
Clint got even madder at his words. "Oh the hero has spoken!"
"What happens to her is not truly your concern Steve, I will kill her! And remember this! Never forget this!" He said yelling loudly now.
"When I found you, you were so slobbering drunk you couldn't buy brandy!" He said to Steve.
"And you!" He said turning to Thor. "Friendless, brainless, helpless, hopeless! You want me to send you back where you came from?! Unemployed, in America?!"
Thor backed up as much as he could and put on a smile. "I think what your doing is great Clint, war and death, just the nicest things". He said trying to calm him down.
Clint glares at him but conceded and walked to the stairs on the ship pulling out a piece of bread from his satchel and sitting down, he munched on it.
Steve walked over to Thor and set the ship off. "That Clint, he really likes to make a fuss."
Thor smiled lightly. "Fuss, fuss, hmmm." He said pondering
"He really likes to yell, at us!" Thor said with a chuckle. The pair had developed a rhyming game in the short time of knowing each other.
Steve smiled. "You have a great gift of rhyme". He said to Thor.
Thor nodded with his own smile. "Yes, yes some of the time".
Clint groaned and stood up to go to the bow of the ship. "No more rhyming now I mean it".
Thor smirked and look over at Steve. "Any body want a peanut?"
Clint groaned and shouted at the men to shut up.
Y/n remained unconscious as the three men sailed away from Asgard and went off to Florin to start a war.

Chapter Text
Long after the sun had set Y/n had finally started to awaken. She groaned softly and shifted trying to sit up.
Thor had been sitting beside her and offered her some water as she blinked open her eyes. "Drink". He said putting the flask in her hands.
She was skeptical but decided to drink it anyway because she was very dehydrated. She chugged the water and shifted to have her back resting against some barrels.
She removed the flask from her lips and thanked him quietly.
The silence was broken when Clint stood up and sat down near the pair. "We should reach the cliffs by dawn". He said directing his words at both Thor and Steve.
Steve sat at the rear of the ship and every so often he would turn around and look off into the darkness.
Y/n sat quietly as the men conversed about their plans.
Eventually Clint got agitated with Steve's continuous looking back into the darkness. "Why are you doing that." He said trying to get Steve to stop.
"I'm making sure no one is following us". Steve replied as he looked back again.
"Believe me, that would be inconceivable". Clint replied closing his eyes and settling against the deck of the ship.
Steve however was not reassured and continued to look back.
"Would you stop doing that! We can all relax it's almost over". Clint said fed up with him.
"Are you sure no one could be following us?" Steve asked looking over at Clint.
Mean while Thor and Y/n listened as the two argued.
"Yes I'm sure! It would be totally and all other wise inconceivable. No one is Florin knows what we've done, and no one in Asgard could have gotten here so fast". He explained matter of factly.
Clint furrowed his eyebrows and turned his head once again to Steve. "Out of curiosity why do you ask?" He asked.
Steve shrugged. "It's just that I happened to look behind us and something is there". He said calmly.
A flash of fear flashed through Clint's eyes. "What?" He said bolting up and going over to Steve to look out into the dark.
Thor stood up as well and walked over to see if he could see anything himself.
With a flash of moonlight the three saw a ship not to far from their own in the distance.
Clint furrowed his brows again. "Probably just some local fisherman of on a pleasure cruise..." he said trying to remain logical. "Through eel infested waters". He said mumbling the last part.
Just then the three heard a loud splash coming from the side of their boat and saw that Y/n had jumped in and was swimming away.
Clint ran over to the side she had jumped off from. "Go in after her!" He screamed at Steve.
Steve shook his head. "I can't swim". He said
Clint then turned to Thor expectantly. "I only dog paddle". He said bashfully.
Clint let out an exasperated groan. "Veer left!" He cried.
Steve ran to the wheel and turned left, in the direction of y/n.
"Left!" Clint cried again trying to get Steve to move faster.
Y/n paddles as fast as she can to get away from the ship when suddenly she heard a high pitched shrieking sound.
She paused and looked around for its source. Clint knowing what it was smirked.
"Hear that highness?" He asked. "Those are the shrieking eels".
Y/n didn't want to believe him and began to start swimming again when Clint's voice could be heard once again.
"Don't believe me? Just wait, they always grow louder when their about to feast". He said trying to scare her and make her come back to the boat.
Y/n stoped swimming again when she could see what Clint was talking about. A large eels head swam right past her and the shrieks began to become louder.
"If you swim back now, I promise no harm will come to you. I doubt you'll get such and offer from the eels." Clint said trying to coax her back to the boat.
Y/n however was a stubborn woman and refused to return back. She spun around trying to spot where the eel went when suddenly one charged right at her and-
———————————————————————————
"Now the eel does not get her at this time". Peter's grandfather said pausing from reading.
Peter looked at him confused. "What?" He asked not understanding why he had stopped reading.
"I said the eels don't get her. You look a little nervous". He said to Peter.
Peter realized in that moment that he had been gripping very tightly to his sheets. He let go and crossed his arms over his chest embarrassed that he'd been caught worrying for y/n.
"I wasn't nervous". He said with a huff.
His grandfather raised an eyebrow questioningly at him.
"Okay, maybe I was a bit, on edge but I wasn't nervous". Peter admitted
"Well maybe I should stop for now". He about to close the book and stand. "No!" Peter said hurriedly
"No". He said again more calm this time. "You can read a little more, if you want to". Peter said once again gripping the sheets.
"Okay". His grandfather said opening the book back up with a smile.
"Do you know what that sound that is highness? Those are the shrieking eels". He read.
"No grandpa we're past that already. You already read that". Peter said
His grandfather raised his hands in defeat. "Oh yes forgive me, alright where was I. The eel begins to charge her and-".
———————————————————————————
Just as the eels jaws were about to close on y/n's face, Thor reaches down and hits the eels head before scooping y/n up and setting her on the deck.
Clint walks over with rope and begins to tie her hands together with it so she won't be able to jump in again.
"I suppose you think your brave". He said to her pulling tightly on the rope.
"Only compared to some". Y/n said with fire in her eyes.
Clint glared at her and stood up walking over to Steve.
"Look! He's right in top of us!" Steve exclaimed pointing over to the ship that was now much closer than before.
Clint laughed. "It doesn't matter now, look!" He said pointing off int the distance to the massive cliffs looming over the water.
"The cliffs of insanity!" He exclaimed.
As the sun began to rise and night tuned into dawn the ship pulled into a small dock right next to the cliffs.
Y/n looked up anxiously at them. To say she was scared was an understatement.
As the boat pulled into the dock the three men set to work quickly. Clint gathered their stuff and Steve docked the boat.
Mean while Thor hopped onto the docks and walked up to the cliffs. He reached behind a small hole in the cliff and grabbed the end of a thick rope that reached all the way to the top of the cliffs.
Steve walked over to Thor, in his hand three harnesses. He hooked them all up to Thor and walked back to the ship and picked up y/n.
He walked back over to Thor and strapped Y/n into the harness. He strapped himself in and then Clint walked over and did the same.
Steve smiled at Thor. "Whenever your ready".
Thor nodded. "Everyone ready?" He asked gripping the long rope tightly. Before anyone could argue he began to climb.
Y/n looked up and then quickly shut her eyes gripping on to Thor's side tightly and prayed that they wouldn't fall.
As the four continued to gain hight, the other ship docked next to then and a man in all green ran over to the rope and began to climb.
Steve saw him first. "He's gaining on us!" He said worriedly
Clint spotted him right after that. " inconceivable". He muttered watching as the man climbed quickly after them.
"Climb faster!" Clint screamed at Thor.
Thor rolled his eyes and continued to climb. "I thought I was going faster". He replied trying to pick up his already steady speed.
"I thought you were supposed to be a colossus, this legendary thing. And yet he gains!" Clint shouted at him.
"The thing is I've got three people and he's only got himself." Thor huffed as he continued to climb up the rope. "I do not except excuses. I'm just going to have to find another man for the job". Clint spat at him.
"Please don't say that, Clint. Please". Thor said sadly.
Y/n was filled with fear but kept quiet and refused to open her eyes.
As the four began to reach the top Steve got out of his harness and climbed over the edge of the cliffs. He then reached down and grabbed y/n, setting her against a rock.
He went back and got Clint up before helping to pull up Thor.
Thor took off the ropes and harnesses and looked back over the edge. The other two men did the same.
When they looked down they saw the man in green very close to the top. Clint pulled out a knife and began cutting at the rope.
As he continued to cut and the thick rope, y/n regained her composure.
Finally with on final strike on the rope, it fell. The three looked back over the edge to see the man in green hanging on tightly to the rocks of the cliff.
"He has very good arms." Steve said looking down at the man clinging tightly to the rocks.
Clint gained a worried look and walked over to the edge looking down once again and saw that the man in green had not fallen "he didn't fall? Inconceivable!" He cried out.
"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means." Steve said finally saying something towards Clint about his continuous use of the word.
Looking back down again, Steve pointed and said. "My god, he's climbing".
Clint sighed angrily. "Whoever he is he has obviously seen us with the princess and there for must die. Thor come carry her, Steve you stay here and finish him. If he falls fine, if not the sword. Then catch up to us when he's dead". Clint ordered walking over to y/n with Thor. Thor picked her up and the three looked over at Steve.
"I'm going to duel him left handed." Steve said. Clint frowned at him. "You know what a hurry we're in". He told him.
"It's the only way I get any satisfaction, if I use my right," he said with a pause. "It's over to quickly".
Clint rolled his eyes. "Fine, have it your way". He said walking with Thor towards the frontier.
"Be careful!" Thor called out to Steve. "People in masks can not be trusted". He told him as he shifted y/n to his shoulder.
"Come along!" Clint called over his shoulder to Thor.
Thor smiled softly at Steve and then took off with y/n on his shoulder after Clint.
Chapter 4
Notes:
This is too short for my liking but here is this filler chapter
Chapter Text
As Clint and Thor walked off with Y/n, Steve began pacing impatiently. He'd never been one to willingly wait.
Steve unsheathed his sword and swung it around a few times to warm up. He then sheathed it again and walked over to the edge of the cliff looking down.
"Hello there". He called down to the man in green who was struggling to climb. The man looked up and grunted in response.
"Slow going?" Steve asked. "Look I don't mean to be rude but this is not as easy as it seems so I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't distract me". The man in green said continuing to slowly climb up the cliff side.
"Sorry" Steve said backing away and pacing once again. He huffed and returned to the side to call down to the man. "I don't suppose you could speed things up?" He asked.
The man in green huffed aggravated. "If your in such a hurry then you could throw me a rope or a branch or something". He said
Steve nodded in thought. "I could do that. I have some rope. But I don't think you'd except my help seeing that I'm only waiting around to kill you".
The man in green nodded thoughtfully and looked up at Steve. "That does put a damper on our relationship". He said going back to climbing.
Steve nodded understandingly knowing he would say something like that. "But I promise I won't kill you until you reach the top".
"Well that's comforting but I'm afraid you'll just have to wait". The man in green said returning his attention back to climbing.
"I hate waiting" Steve said impatiently. "I could give you my word as a Captain?" He said hopefully.
"No good, I've known to many captains". The man in green said, a struggle in his voice as he climbed.
"It's there any way I can get you to trust me". Steve asked.
"Nothing comes to mind". The man in green said annoyed at the man.
Steve took a breath before speaking again. "I swear on the soul of my brother Bucky Barnes, you will reach the top alive".
The man in green paused before looking up. "Throw me the rope". Steve nodded and quickly threw the access rope over the side.
Quickly the man in green climbed the rope and pulled himself over the top of the cliff finally reaching the top. Steve helped him up the rest of the way. "Thank you" the man in black said.
He stood up and began to unsheathe his sword but Steve stopped him. "We can wait till your ready". He said to him.
"Again, thank you". The man in green said going to sit on a rock and dump out his shoes. He slipped one off and dumped out a pile of rocks. Then he put it back on and did the same to the other boot.
Steve took in a breath. "I don't mean to pry but you don't by any chance have six fingers on your right hand, do you?" He asked the man in green.
"Do you always start conversations like this?" The man in green asked very confused.
Steve laughed lightly before becoming serious. "A man with six fingered slaughtered my brother. He was a great sword maker, my brother. And when the six fingered man showed up, he demanded a sword fine enough to please the gods. My brother took the job. It took him a year to complete". He explained.
The man paused for a moment before reaching for his glove in his right hand and holding it up to him.
Steve nodded in slight defeat and handed the sword over to him. "I've never seen it's equal". The man in green said admiring the sword before handing it back.
"The six fingered man eventually returned and demanded the sword, but at one tenth the original price. My brother refused and the six fingered man slashed through his heart. I loved my brother, so naturally I challenged his murder to a duel. But I failed. The six fingered man left me alive, but left me with this," he said pointing to a large scar across his cheek.
"How old were you". The man asked Steve.
"Almost eleven. And once I was strong enough I dedicated my life to fencing so that next time I saw the six fingered man, I will not fail. I will go up to him and say, "hello, my name is Steve Rogers. You killed my brother. Prepare to die."". Steve said passionately.
"And you've done nothing but study sword okay ever since?" The man asked curiously.
"More pursuit then study really. You see I can't find him. It's been twenty years and now I'm starting to lose hope. I work for Clint to pay the bills, there's a lot of money in revenge". Steve said
The man nodded and slowly rose. "Well I hope you find him someday".
"You're ready then?" Steve asked.
"Whether I'm ready or not you've been more than fair". The man said unsheathing his sword.
Steve did the same. "You seem a decent fellow, I hate to kill you".
"You seem a decent fellow, I hate to die". The man said back readying his sword.
And the two began to fight.
Chapter 5
Summary:
Sorry for the long hiatus, here's a little treat!
Chapter Text
As the two began their duel they circled one another.
Beginning the fight, Steve lunged forward and tried striking the man in green on his left, then his right, only to be stopped by the other man's sword.
The man in green tried doing the same thing, though he could not get a hit in either.
The two feinted back and forth gracefully. It seemed almost like a dance.
Momentarily the man in green swiped at Steve causing him to lose his balance for a moment, although luckily, he quickly regained it.
The man in green took a graceful leap and landed perfectly on a ledge and Steve followed after trying to strike him. Their swords clashed against one another harshly though neither had yet to receive or make a hit on the other.
It would seem to an outsider that the two were performing and not fighting for their lives.
"You're using Shield's defense against me," Steve said through heavy pants
The man in green shrugged as he continued to keep off Steve's hits. "I thought it fitting considering the rocky terrain".
Steve nodded thoughtfully. "Naturally," he said keeping the man and green in front of him. "You must expect me to attack with Hydra?" he said
The man in green grunted as Steve began backing him up the crumbling remains of stairs to a small platform that was against the edge of the cliff, that was also crumbling.
"Naturally." The man in green said trying his best to keep Steve from gaining a hit. "But I find that Shield cancels out Hydra, don't you?" He questions seeing that he was getting closer to the edge by the second.
Suddenly the man in green pushed Steve backward quickly regaining the upper hand.
Steve smiled widely at the happenings between them, he had not had a good fight in so long, and it energized him.
Steve smirked at the man in green. "That is unless the enemy has studded Marvel!" he said taking the upper hand from the man in green.
The battle raged on between the two, neither losing balance nor energy. The terrain seemed to quake under their vicious yet seemingly coordinated fight. Both took unforeseen advantages from one another and neither had the lead for long. It was painstakingly clear that neither were ordinary men, they both were skilled fighters and athletes.
Suddenly the battle seemed to pick up even more speed as the two danced across the terrain. The man in green had gotten behind Steve and was now pushing him toward the cliffs.
"You are wonderful!" Steve exclaimed joyously praising the man.
"Thank you, I have worked hard to become so". The man in green said gratefully, though they were fighting, he couldn't help but appreciate the praise.
"I admit it, you are better than I am," Steve said smiling as he continued to be pushed by a man in green towards the edge.
"Then why are you smiling?" the man in green asked cautiously.
"Because I know something that you do not," Steve said continuing to smile widely as he was pushed closer and closer towards the edge.
"Oh? And what is that?" the man in green questioned with a grunt.
Steve's smiled seemed to grow wider and he pushed the man and green off him with grace and threw his sword, catching it now in his other hand. "I am not left-handed!" He exclaimed joyously and retook the lead.
The man in green was stunned and began to do everything in his power to keep Steve off of him. He began to become desperate when he could no longer keep Steve by the edge and quickly started to retreat backward.
Switching fighting styles again, Steve was able to attack, and the first blood was his. He sliced at the man in Green's wrist and was able to draw blood.
Now bleeding the man in green becomes agitated and desperately continues to fight.
Drawing near where the rope they both used to climb up the cliff, the man in green was trying to get behind the rope when Steve again lunged at him and in turn was able to slice at his other wrist, again drawing blood.
"You are amazing!" the man in green said, repeating the earlier words from Steve.
"I ought to be after fifteen years" Steve replied.
"There is something I must tell you," The man in green says as he is pushed up against a large rock, Steve pinning him to it with his sword.
"Oh? And what is it?" Steve asked believing he was about to win.
It was the man in green's turn to smile. "I am also not left-handed". He said triumphantly pushing Steve off and switching hands, much like how Steve had minutes before.
With the fight now in his favor the man in green was able to gain the offense and started to push Steve back towards the cliffside.
"Who are you?" Steve asked astonished
The man in green shrugged as he continued to back Steve up against the edge. "No one of consequence". he replied simply.
Steve furrowed his eyebrows and frowned, "I must know". he said desperately trying to figure out who the man was.
The man in green smirked. "Get used to disappointment".
Moving as fast as lighting the man in green lunges forward at Steve and strikes at his arm, moving back almost instantly after.
Steve looked down at his arm and saw blood, astonished he looked back up and continued fighting.
Many minutes more of fighting later the man in green still had the upper hand. Both men had many cuts and several on both of them were bleeding.
Finally, the man in green was able to send Steve's sword flying a good distance away from him.
Steve knowing, he had been defeated fell to his knees. "Kill me quickly," he said almost pleadingly.
"I would sooner destroy a stained-glass window than kill such a talented swordsman as yourself," he said to him.
Steve looked up at him confused. This man had won a fight to the death and yet he wasn't going to kill him. This man fascinated him, and he really wanted to know who this man was.
"However, I cannot have you following me either". He said bashing Steve over the head suddenly with the hilt of his sword.
Steve's eyes roll into the back of his head, and he fell forward into unconsciousness.
The man in green crouched before his head. "Please understand I hold you in the highest respects". He spoke
Quickly collecting himself, he started running off in the direction the other three had gone...

Heres a little lengthy treat for you guys
Chapter Text
"Inconceivable!" Clint exclaimed as he watched the man in Green run towards them off in the distance.
Thor holding the Y/n glanced down to look at Clint, almost as to say, 'What now?"
Clint glared down at the running man and turned to look at Thor. "Give her to me". He demanded.
Thor obeyed and set Y/n down gently. Clint grabbed her wrist harshly ad Y/n glared at him wishing thousands of horrible thingsE upon him.
Clint ignored her glares and turned to Thor. "Catch up with us quickly". He said turning and started walking away, dragging Y/n behind him.
Thor began to panic, "What am I supposed to do?" he called anxiously to Clint.
Clint huffed irritated and paused his walking to turn and face Thor. "Finish him, your way". He said through his teeth fed up with what he considered his incompetence.
Thor nodded in understanding. "Oh, good, my way, thank you, Clint, for my way indeed". He said pausing. "What is my way?" He questioned turning to Clint once again. Fed up Clint let go of Y/n's wrist and walked up to Thor.
"Pick up one of those boulders and move behind that tree," Clint said pointing first to the boulders, and then the tree. Thor doing as he was told quickly picked up a boulder and moved behind the tree.
"In a few minutes the man in Green will come running up that bend, the second his head is in view, hit it with the boulder!" Clint yelled angrily.
While this was happening Y/n saw it as her chance to escape and slowly crept up the hill before taking off running being careful not to trip on her dress.
Clint saw her take off and quickly took off after her, surprisingly he caught up quickly and tackled her to the ground. Standing her up he held a dagger against her back and made her keep walking with his hand securely on her arm, gripping it tightly.
Watching Clint run after y/n and quickly catch her again, Thor turned back to watch for the man.
"My way is not very sportsmanlike". He said to himself.
Nonetheless, he stood motionless behind the tree waiting for the man in Green to come running up.
Minutes later, just as Clint had said, the man in Green came running up and Thor chucked the boulder a foot away from his head.
Scaring the man in black, he quickly unsheathed his sword and took a fighting stance.
Upon picking up another boulder, Thor stepped out slowly from behind the tree. "I did that on purpose, I didn't have to miss," He said tossing the boulder between his hands carefully.
"I believe you". The man in Green said slowly as he examined the large man. "But what happens now?" he asked cautiously taking a step to the side.
Thor smiled. "We face each other as the gods intended it, In a sportsmanlike manner. No weapons, no tricks, just your skill against mine alone".
Taking a deep breath the man in Green nodded, "So you mean, you'll put down the rock and ill lay down my sword and we'll try to kill each other like civilized people?"
Thor nodded. "I could always kill you now?" he asked holding the boulder up as though he was about to through it.
The man in Green quickly shook his head and set down his sword.
"Frankly, I believe the odds are slightly in your favor in hand fighting". He said trying to hide the nervousness in his voice.
Thor shrugged. "It's not my fault I'm the biggest and strongest, I barely even exercise". He admitted dropping the boulder and getting ready to fight.
The two watched each other for a moment before the man in Green lunged at Thor and tried to knock him down, failing he retreated to his original spot.
Taking a breath he tried again and Thor still did not move. The man n Green stepped back and sighed heavily.
"Are you just toying around with me or what?" He asked Thor.
Thor shrugged bashfully "I wanted you to feel like you were winning. I hate when people die embarrassed".
The man in Green rolled his eyes and both got ready to begin fighting again. Thor leaped forward with fierce speed for a man of his size trying to grab the man in green but he quickly jumped to the side.
Trying once again to grab him, Thor reached for him only for the man in Green to dodge him again.
"You're quick" Thor complimented the man in Green as he continued to try and grab him.
"And a good thing too'" the man in Green replied.
"Why do you wear a mask? Were you disfigured at birth or burned by acid or something?" Thor asked getting ready to pounce again
The man in Green laughed. "Oh no nothing like that, It's just I find them terribly comfortable. I think everyone will be wearing them in the future". He said
Thor considered that for a moment before suddenly lunging at the man in Green. The man in Green slipped under him to avoid being grabbed. Thor turned around with him but instead of twisting under him again, the man in Green jumped on his back and tried to cut off Thor's airway wrapping his hands around his neck tightly.
Squeezing his arms tighter around his neck Thor tries to speak. "You know, I think I figured out why you are giving me such trouble".
"Oh, and why is that do you think?" The man in Green asks as Thor moves towards a large boulder and tries to squish the man in Green by falling against him on the boulder.
Pan shot through his body but he held on to Thor's neck tightly as Thor once again stumbled to another rock intending to try and squish him off again.
"Well, I haven't had to fight just one man in so long, I've kind of been specializing in large groups, battling large gangs for charity, that sort of thing". Thor said his voice begging to sound strained.
"Why would that make such a," He momentarily is cut off as Thor smashes his back against another boulder causing pain to once again shoot through his body. "-difference". He finished sounding squished.
"Well-" Thor started now sounding very weak. "you see, you use different moves when fighting half a dozen people, then when-" He said as he fell to the ground. The man in Green held on tightly, his grip tightening even more.
"-you've only been fighting-" Thor's voice strained even more as he crawled on the ground trying to reach a boulder to help him stand.
"-with one-" He said finally collapsing against the ground, completely passed out.
Taking a large breath the man in Green finally released Thor's throat and crawled off his back. Standing up he walked over to Thor's mouth to check his breathing.
Crouching down by his face he checked and could tell he was still breathing. "I do not envy the headache you'll have when you awaken. But in the meantime sleep well, and dream of large women". he said to the unconscious Thor before standing again and walking over to his sword.
Quickly sheathing it in his belt once again, he took off up the hill to find the final man and Y/n
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Clint sat on a rock with Y/n, who was now blindfolded, sitting close to him with a dagger held against her neck. Beside him, a table-shaped boulder was set with two goblets and a large leather flask. Another rock sat on the other side acting as a chair.
Coming up the path, the man in Green saw the scene and paused.
Clint smiled at him maliciously. "So, it has come to you. And it has come to me". he spoke
The man in Green nodded and took a cautious step forward.
"If you wish her dead, then, by all means, please keep coming forward". He said pushing the knife harder against Y/n's throat, drawing a light trickle of blood. Y/n whimpered at the pain but remained as still as possible so as to not draw more blood.
A flash of fear ran through the man in Green's eyes, and he stopped moving, he held his hands out in front of him defensively.
"Let me explain," he said with a smile, easily hiding his nervousness.
"There is nothing to explain," Clint said with a shrug. "You are trying to kidnap what I have rightfully stolen".
"Perhaps an arrangement can be met?" The man in Green asked quickly.
"There will be no arrangement!" Clint snapped
The man in Green moved forward again, "and it will be your killing her!" Clint shouted and pressed the knife harder against Y/n's throat causing more bleeding.
Although she wanted to cry out in pain Y/n bit her lip harshly to keep the cry of pain back.
The man in Green froze immediately. "If we cannot reach an arrangement, we are at an impasse".
"I fear so, I cannot take you on physically, and you are no match or my brains". Clint boasted taking some of the pressure of Y/n's neck.
"You're that smart?" The man in Green asked challengingly.
Clint chuckles snarkily. "Let me put it this way; Have you heard of Erskine? Strange? Pym?" Clint asked.
"Yes," The man in Green said.
"Morons," Clint said with a smirk.
"Really? In that case, I challenge you to a battle of wits. The man in Green said, also with a smirk.
"For the princess?" Clint asked. The man in Green raised his eyebrow to indicate there was more to it.
"To the death?" Clint asked again. The man in Green nodded with a smirk on his face.
Clint smiled arrogantly. "I accept".
"Then pour the wine". the man in Green said with a sly smile.
Removing the dagger from Y/n's neck, Clint reached for the two glasses and poured some wine into them that he had kept in the leather flask.
Now being allowed closer the man in Green reached into his pocket and pulled out a cylindrical capsule.
"Open this and inhale, but do not touch". The man in Green said handing the capsule to Clint.
Clint did just that and took a sniff of the powder. Frowning he handed it back to him. "I smell nothing". He stated
"What you do not smell is called iocane powder. Its odorless, tasteless, dissolves instantly in liquid, and is among the deadliest poisons known to man".
Picking up the goblets in one hand and holding the iocane powder in the other he turned his back to the pair.
Clint watched excitedly in wait. When he was done, the man in Green turned back around, the capsule now empty.
Smiling, the man in Green placed one goblet in front of himself and the other in front of Clint.
"Alright. Where is the poison?" The man in Green asked resting his hands across his chest. "The battle of wits has begun. It ends when you decide, and we both drink, and find out who has won, and who is dead".
"But it's all so simple" Clint stated. "I just have to figure out what I know of you. Are you the kind of man who would put the poison in his own goblet, or his enemy's?"
Debating for a moment Clint observed both goblets. "Now a clever man would place the poison in his own goblet because he would know that only a great fool would drink from his own. I am not a great fool, so I can clearly not choose the goblet in front of you". He said as the man in Green just watched him with a small smile.
"But you must have known I was not a great fool; you would count on it so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me". Clint said calculatingly.
The man in Green nodded slowly. "So, you've decided then?" he asked.
Clint laughed. "Not Remotely!"
"Iocane comes from Midgard, and as everyone knows, Midgard is entirely peopled with criminals. And criminals are used to not having people trust them, as you are not trusted by me. So, I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you". Clint stated crossing his arms
The man in Green tried not to roll his eyes. "You truly have a dizzying intellect". He said almost sarcastically.
"Wait till I get going!" Clint said boastingly with a laugh. "Where was I? Oh yes Midgard, and you must have suspected I would have known the powder's origin, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me!"
"You're stalling now," The man in Green said trying to be patient.
"You'd like to think that wouldn't you!" Clint yelled staring at the man in Green. "You've beaten my giant, which means you are exceptionally strong, so you could have put it in your own cup counting on your strength to save you, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you".
"But you also bested my Captain, which means you must have studied, and in studying you must have learned that man is mortal, so you would have put the poison as far from you as possible. Therefore, I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me".
Still, with a smile on his face, the man in Green nodded slowly. "You're trying to trick me into revealing something, it won't work".
"It has worked, you've given away everything, I know where the poison is!" Clint revealed it finally.
"Then make your choice!". The man in Green yelled, fed up with Clint's mind games.
"I will! And I choose-"Clint paused, and his eyes widened. He pointed behind the man in Green and gasped. "What in the world could that be?" he exclaimed.
"Where? I don't see anything." The man in Green said worriedly as he spun around on the rock and frantically looked around, giving Clint enough time to switch the goblets around.
"Oh well, I could have sworn I saw something; no matter," Clint said trying to hide a laugh as the man in Green turned back around to face him at the makeshift table.
"What's so funny". The man in Green asked noticing Clint laughing.
"Tell you in a minute, but first, me from my glass, and you from yours". Clint said finally revealing his decision.
Nodding the two men picked up their own glasses and took a sip, while Y/n anxiously waited for something to happen.
Setting their glasses down the man in Green smirked, "You chose wrong".
Clint burst out in laughter. "You only think I guessed wrong!" He said his laughter growing louder. "I switched glasses while your back was turned!"
The man in Green said nothing, he just sat there with a smirk while Clint laughed hysterically.
"You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders, the most famous of which is "Never get involved in an interdimensional war against a mad titan", but only slightly less well known is this: "Never go in against an Archer, when death is on the line!" Clint said continuing to laugh hysterically.
This happened for a few more seconds, Clint laughing and whooping until suddenly, he stopped and collapsed dead.
Y/n looked in the direction she heard him fall and sat in silence until the man in Green came over and took her blindfold off gently.
"And to think, all this time the poison had been in your cup". She said softly looking down at Clint's dead body.
"They were both poisoned, I've spent the last years building up an immunity to iocane powder". He said pulling her up to her feet.
Y/n nodded slowly and looked up at him, "who are you?" she questioned softly.
"No one to be trifled with, that's all you ever need to know". He said simply as he glanced down at her bleeding neck. He wrapped the fabric that had been used as her blind fold gently around her neck to help stop the light bleeding.
After he did that, he grabbed her arm and took off, dragging her behind.

The pair of them continued to run for a while until Y/n started struggling to keep up the pace. Finally, the man in green slowed. He pushed her down against a rock and grabbed the flask at his waist that was full of water.
Placing it up against his lips he took a long swallow from it, before holding it out before Y/n. "Catch your breath" he said, his voice harsh as she gratefully took the flask from his outstretched arm and sipped from it.
"If you release me", Y/n started after she had her fill of the cool liquid.
"Whatever it is you ask for ransom, I promise you'll get it". She said desperately. She was ready for this nightmarish day to be over and was about ready to give anything to get it to be done.
The man in green started chuckling at her, causing Y/n to grit her teeth in frustration. Who did this man think he was?
She kept her gaze low as he spoke. "And what is that worth, the promise of a woman? You are very funny highness" He said with a smirk.
Her anger rose as she tried not to snap at him. "I was giving you a chance. It doesn't matter where you take me, there is no greater hunter than Prince Stark, he will find you" she said, trying her best to sound threatening to this masked man.
The man in green merely laughed.
"You think your dearest love will save you?" he asked her mockingly
Y/n furrowed her eyebrows in frustration. "I never said he was my dearest love but yes, he will save me, that I know" she said with confidence.
The man in green looked at her questioningly. "You admit you do not love him?" he said almost disbelievingly.
Y/n nodded, "He knows I do not love him, but I do not see how that is a concern of yours”. She replied bitterly.
The man in green rolled his eyes as he watched her. "Are not capable of love you mean".
Furious now Y/n stood and angrily walked up to him. "I have loved more deeply than a killer like yourself could ever dream!," she spat at him
The man in green raised his hand quickly as though he was going to slap her. Y/n braced herself by closing her eyes tightly, but the hit never came. She opened her eyes and looked back up at his masked face.
"That was a warning, highness", he growled out through his teeth. "The next time my hand flies on its own, you won't be as lucky. Where I come from there are penalties for when a woman lies".
Y/n stood glaring at him until he grabbed her arm and started running again, dragging her behind.

Prince Tony Stark stood on the cliffs of insanity looking down at the water far below. Once word of his missing fiancé got to him, he quickly gathered a search party and set off to Florin to rescue her from whomever took her away from Asgard.
Count Strange, Tony's right hand man stood behind him, mounted on his horse alongside half of the royal army.
Turning around Tony walked all around the terrain following the footprints that were scattered about. "There was a mighty duel". He stated as he used an imaginary sword to mimic the battle that had occurred just hours before.
"It ranged all over" he said walking back over to Count Strange and his horse. Mounting his horse he turned to look at Strange.
"They were both masters" He concluded. Strange nodded slowly, having to agree based on the evidence. "How did it end?" He asked Tony
Tony pointed towards a path to the far left of them. "The loser ran off alone in that direction,"
"And the winner followed those footprints towards Florin". He said pointing to the sets of footprints that lead into the Florin countryside.
Strange nodded in understanding. "Shall we track them both?" he asked
Tony shook his head looking over at Strange. "The loser means nothing to us, the princess is all that matters". He said with a nod of his head like he was agreeing with himself.
Turning towards his soldiers he spoke again. "This was clearly planned by skilled warriors of Florin and we must all be ready for whatever could lie ahead".
Strange looked over concerned at Tony, "Could this be a trap?" he asked somewhat nervously.
Tony smiled at him "You always think everything could be a trap, which is why I'm not yet dead" he said, flicking his horse's reins to get it to gallop off.
Everyone followed in his path.
Not long after they arrived, the man in green had beaten Thor.
Approaching the large silhouette of where Thor had once been unconscious Prince Tony inspected the sight.
"Someone has beaten a giant man". He stated simply. scanning the rest of the area and seeing footsteps there as well.
"Pity the country of Florin if she dies!" he shouted, quickly mounting his horse again and taking off in a gallop in the direction the smaller footprints led.

The man in green shoved Y/n to the ground once more after they had made it another mile and a half to rest. "Rest highness," he says simply before sitting down on a rock. He pulled out the flask of water and sipped on it calmly.
Y/n coughed harshly and lifted her tied hands to her throat feeling a small amount of blood trickling down her neck through the cloth.
"I know who you are". She spat at him. "Your cruelty reveals everything".
The man in green said nothing, he just sat and watched her.
"You're the dread Pirate Fury" She said glaring at him with all the hatred in the world. He smiled somewhat sadly, "With pride, what can I do for you?" He asked with a small bow.
"You can die slowly, cut into a thousand pieces".
He clicked his tongue at her. "Why loose your venom on me highness?" He asked
"You killed my love," she said quietly, staring off into the distance.
He paused for a moment watching her closely. "Its...possible, I kill many people", he said plainly
Y/n remained silent, lost in her heartbreak. Slowly the man in green approached her again and helped her to stand on her feet, more gently this time and they took off running once again.

Prince Tony, having been moving very quickly, came upon Clint's dead body as well as the goblets filled with wine.
Tony took a whiff of the wine and turned towards where Strange was mounted on his horse. “It’s Iocane powder, I'd bet my life on it". He said
He pointed ahead on the path "And those are the princesses' footprints. She 's alive, or if she is otherwise I shall be quite put out". He said once again mounting his horse and taking off in a mad dash, his army close behind.
-=-==-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
The man in black tried to be careful as he led Y/n across a very narrow piece of the land that had a large drop off on either side.
Breaking the long silence he finally spoke, "So who was this love of yours? Another prince like this one, ugly, rich, and snarky?" He asked
Y/n bit back nasty words and took a breath. "No. He was poor. Poor and perfect. My farm boy, with eyes like the sea after a storm". She said, taking a pause and looking down at her feet.
He let her and turned around to face her crossing his arms over his chest.
Gaining courage she looked up at him with a glare. “On the high seas your ship attacked, and the Dread Pirate Fury never takes prisoners". She said with pain in her voice.
The man in green didn't make eye contact with her but nodded slowly. "I can't afford to make exceptions. Once word gets out that a pirate has gone soft, then it's all work, work, work all the time".
"You mock my pain". Y/n said bitterly
He rolled his eyes. "Life is pain highness, anyone who's said differently is selling something".
He began pulling her along once again taking a deep breath. "I, I think I remember this farm boy of yours". he revealed.
Y/n didn't look up at him but listened intently.
"I think this would be, what, five years ago?" He questioned secretly knowing the answer. Y/n only nodded.
Feeling somewhat remorseful he sighed, "Does it upset you to hear?" He asked gently. Y/n lifted her head high at that and shook it gently. "Nothing you can say will upset me. My heart is now protected in a sealed box".
Taking another breath the man in green nodded. "He died well, that should please you". She clenched her jaw but said nothing.
"No bribe attempts or blubbering. He simply said 'please'. 'Please I need to live', it was the 'please' that keeps him in my memory." he revealed. "I asked him what was so important for him. 'True love' he replied".
"Then he spoke of a girl with surpassing beauty, I can only assume he meant you. You should thank me for destroying him before he could find out what you truly are". he sat seemingly hurt.
"And what am I?" Y/n demanded not even bothering to try and hide the few tears that had escaped her eyes.
He stopped walking and grabbed her shoulders roughly. "Faithfulness he talked of, madam, your enduring faithfulness. Now tell me truly, when you found out he was dead, did you get engaged to your prince that hour or did you wait a week in respect for the dead". He asked, shaking her in anger.
"You mocked me once, never do it again! I died that day!" She yelled at him, tears now freely streaming down her now rosy cheeks.
The man in green looked down at her in pain. He opened his mouth to say something when he heard the galloping of horse hoofs and he turned to look behind him.
"And you can die too for all I care!" She spat out through her teeth as she took his distraction as an opportunity to push him off the edge.
As she watched him fall she heard three words very clearly.
"As. You. Wish"
Her eyes widened as it finally clicked into place. All of his questions, his expressions at her words, everything at last made sense. Her anger at him for hiding who he was quickly melted away and turned into horror at the realization of what she'd just done.
"Oh my dearest Loki, what have I done?" She questioned in disbelief.
Without a second thought about it, she allowed her adrenaline filled brain to take control as she jumped off the edge after him and began tumbling down the edge of the tall hill.
