Chapter Text

Why did it feel so wrong to wake up like this?

To wake up in a new body, a new life, a new time where everything changed throughout one single jump.

Izuku would know, lazily leaning his body over towards his phone to check the time.

It was six in the morning, thirty minutes before his alarm, yet he got up anyway. Stretching out his aching limbs, the teenager went over to do their usual routine for the morning.

Going over to their bathroom to brush their teeth and hair, Izuku took extra care of his curls to their exact shape. The comedic timing being they refused to obey the laws of physics and were okay with their own rules.

He gave up shortly after, going over to his room to get himself dressed for school.

Being cleaned by his mother he took extra care to put it on, the feeling of fresh clothes laid comfortably against his skin. The same could be said about his socks and shoes, with not a single blemish insight as far as the eye can see. Truly, his mother was a master at cleaning anything she could get her hands on.

Quickly checking the mirror, Izuku looked over himself a moment too long, his eyes dulling at what he was seeing before him.

He quickly went downstairs, his backpack in his hands he was met with his mother who prepared breakfast. His father was there, eating quietly alongside his wife who did the same but not before saying their good mornings. Izuku brushed his hair back, saying his good morning, he smiled as he ate his fill before it was time to go.

His father was the first to leave, hurrying off to get to work, he had little time to say his goodbyes. Not that that bothered Izuku, that was the norm every morning for his father, he was a busy man after all.

Soon enough, it was time for Izuku to go, he quickly ate what was left on his plate before getting up. He thanked his mother for the meal and hurried off to put his shoes on by the doorway, not minding the way his slippers were thrown down, he reached for the door.

“Naomi!”

Naomi turned over to the older woman, her posture alert and hands grasping a wrapped bento she leaned over with it.

Naomi smiled, taking the bento and carefully putting it in her backpack, she said her apologies as her mother kissed her forehead.

“I swear, the more you run off like that, the more you’ll end up eating nothing at all for lunch!”

Naomi apologized again before excusing herself to finally get to school, saying one more goodbye before leaving the front door. From there, she went off to greet her other classmates who all rushed off to catch the train to their school.

But still, this felt wrong, deep inside her heart, Naomi knew this was wrong. But she didn't care, she ignored the dreaded feeling that pooled deep inside and pushed it even deeper.

She isn't Izuku Midoriya, not anymore, that was all in the past.

Izuku is dead, Naomi is not, and that's just that.

Notes:

I hate getting up for school.
