"Hello listeners! We'll be taking requests right after this next song so stay tuned and get ready to call!" Izuku was so excited. Present Mic was doing requests! On his birthday! Earlier he was a little bummed that his mom had to work so he had to stay by himself all day, but his mom said they could have Katsudon for dinner and some ice cream too! And now he might even get to talk to Present Mic and hear his favorite song on a hero's radio station! Best birthday ever!
The song finally came to a close and Izuku immediately called the station. He was so fast he was picked first. "Hello listener, you're on the air!" Izuku let out a little squeak before speaking, "Umm…hi. It's my birthday and I was wondering if you could play Welcome Home? It's by rah…radical face." Mic's face lit up as he listened to the little caller tell him it's his birthday. He did take note of the fact the kid was obviously alone on his birthday. "Of course, little listener. While I'm turning it on, can you tell me your name?" Izuku was super excited, but he also knew not to give his full name so he just happily said his last name along with a very enthusiastic thank you. "Well then Midoriya I'm glad you got to call today, but why aren't you celebrating with your family?" Izuku doesn't even take a moment to answer. Not thinking anything of it. "Well it's just me and mom, but when she gets home she said we can have Katsudon and ice cream! I'm so happy we got to have fun together this year!" Glad that his mom was not just making her kid celebrate alone, the hero doesn't think to ask about any of the other questions that the sentence should have come to the young hero's mind. "How old are you turning Midoriya?" He quite literally hears the smile on the young boy's face as he proclaims that he's turning six years old. "Well then this song is for you. Happy sixth birthday Midoriya!" As the song starts to play the phone call ends. Izuku immediately picks up his notebook and continues to write about Present Mic while his head bops to his favorite song. Still very excited that he got to choose the song on the radio.
On the other side of the now ended phone call a young hero was texting his boyfriend to make sure the tired teacher in training had just heard that cute kid on the radio.
Little did Present Mic know he was the first of many heroes to speak to Midoriya and that he would be bragging about it soon enough.
