A pikachu wakes up a Squirtle she finds knocked out in the woods. She introduces herself as Pia to the stranger before asking their name. The Squirtle says something about being human, much to Pia's confusion. "You seem like a perfectly normal Squirtle to me." She states. The Squirtle looks confused before looking herself over. "OMG I REALLY AM A SQUIRTLE!!" She squeals in shock. Pia gives her a confused look. "You're an odd one huh? Uh. What did you say your name was?" She was beginning to get uneasy with the other Pokemon's... oddness. "My name? My.... Name... Oh! It's Shelly!" The Squirtle responds as if remembering something she'd forgotten. Pia laughs as she'd never heard a funnier name.
Suddenly the two hear cries for help. A distraught Butterfree flutters over in a panic. "What's wrong miss?" Pia asks. "My Caterpie fell into chasm! A fissure opened up right underneath him. He's too young to crawl back out himself and when I went to go get him other Pokemon attacked me! I think the fissure made them frenzy" She stated before looking around worriedly.
Pia looks to Shelly. "This sounds bad! We have to go help!" Shelly nods without a second thought before following Pia to their destination.
As they enter Shelly realizes that she has no idea what she's doing. Pia pats her back. "Okay be careful here. The Pokemon around here are in a frenzy due to the fissure. We'll hafta knock them out to keep safe." She states. Shelly gives a nod, planning to just headbutt any Pokemon that decide to cause her trouble.
Just then a Pidgey swoops in for an attack. Before Pia can react Shelly screams before accidentally bubble blasting the bird Pokemon. It was knocked out in one hit but Shelly had no idea how she did that.
Pia pats her back again and sighs. "Gotta be careful. Like I said." They continue through, tackling any Pokemon that gets in their way. Soon they make it to the depths of the fissure, finding the Caterpie. The poor child was crying, scared of the frenzied Pokemon. "Mommy.... Where are you?" He cried. The two walk up to him, Pia holding out a paw. "We came to rescue you." She says in a calming tone. The Caterpie sniffles, tears in his eyes as he turns to look at his saviors. "Huh?" Pia gives him a smile. "Your mom's waiting. Let's get you out of here." She says. Caterpie gives a small smile. "Okay." He takes her paw and they leave.
Topside Mrs. Butterfree is now reunited with her son. "My baby's safe... I'm sorry, I don't know how I could ever thank you properly..." Pia gives a big smile. "Oh, that's okay! It has been dangerous lately with the sudden quakes and fissures like that one." She stated before kneeling down to Caterpie's level and patting his head. "I'm just glad we were able to find your little boy unharmed." Mrs. Butterfree nods. "Please, may I have your names at least?" Pia stands and smiles. "I'm Pia, and this is Shelly." The Caterpie looks to Shelly with adoration in his eyes. "So cool...."
Shelly scratches her head and gives a shy smile. 'He's uh... Staring at me adoringly... Those sparkly eyes... It's a little embarrassing... But... This doesn't feel bad either. It's like I'm a hero. Helping Pokemon in trouble might be a good experience.' She thought, giving the boy a big smile.
"Thank you Pia and Shelly!" He said excitedly. Mrs. Butterfree pats his head. "I know it isn't really enough, but this is a token of our thanks. Please, accept it." She hands the two a few berries. "Thank you so much. Good-bye." She and her boy head off safely and happily. Pia turns to Shelly with a big smile. "Thank you for helping! You are very tough. I was very impressed." She states. Shelly blushes a bit. "So... What'cha gonna do now? Got any plans?" Shelly gives a concerned look. "...Listen, Shelly." She says looking to the side. "Uh... If you don't have a place to stay, I could take you somewhere to stay." Shelly nods and Pia leads her out of the tiny woods and into town.
"Welp! This is the place!" Shelly looks at this beautiful building made perfectly with a Squirtle in mind. Water flows around it, little bridges connect the house to the main path. Lillypads float in the water. Shelly smiles brightly. "Oh wow." She says softly. 'Is this what it feels like to want to wag your tail?' she thinks, not noticing her tail actually wagging. Pia noticed however. She chuckled. "You're impressed, aren't you? I thought so! I figured this would make a good place for you to live, Shelly." She smiled happily. "I knew you'd like it!" Shelly blinks for a second, momentarily contemplating how this stranger managed to get the place, know it would be needed for a Pokemon such as herself, and then know where to find her out in those woods.
Pia steps off the first little bridge and smiles, showing off the mailbox in front of the house. "This is your mailbox. They deliver mail from Pokemon here. You know, just like the fissure that Caterpie fell into... For some reason, there have been many natural disasters lately." She stopped looking at the mailbox to look towards Shelly. "Because of those disasters, many Pokemon are suffering." She looks down at her paw. "I want to help Pokemon in these tough times. To help change things so all Pokemon can live in peace." She looks off in the distance, not making eye contact. "So, uh... Well, I liked how you handled yourself when we rescued Caterpie." She then looked Shelly directly in the eyes with an air of confidence. "Would you like to join me on a rescue team? Shelly, with you, I think we could even become the world's best rescue team. What do ya say?"
Shelly ponders for a moment. It WAS fun... She nods. "Perfect! That's it, then! We're rescue team partners from now on! Glad to have you on board, Shelly!" She then thinks for a second. "Huh... We don't have a team name yet..." She smiles to Shelly. "What do you think? Got any ideas?" Shelly ponders for a moment. She knows nothing about this Pokemon. Let alone anything about herself. Perhaps.... "What about Purazuma?"
Pia's face lit up in excitement. "Purazuma! I like it! It's a good name! It's perfect for us!" She exclaimed with glee. "Rescue Team Purazuma!" She said with a smile. "Let's do good starting tomorrow!" Both girls smile and then pose cutely in sync.
