Work Text:
I close my eyes and I can see, the world that's waiting up for me
That I call my own
Hitoshi drags Izuku through the huge mansion, hiding from both of their parents. Hiding in rooms, closets, and behind huge statues. Both giggling.
Through the dark, through the door
Through where no one's been before
But it feels like home
Hitoshi brings Izuku to his playroom of sorts, where they play and imagine together.
They can say, they can say it all sounds crazy
They can say, they can say I've lost my mind
I don't care, I don't care, so call me crazy
Hitoshi and Izuku both imagine the future, both in separate yet the same world.
We can live in a world that we design
As Izuku eventually leaves, they make promises to meet again.
'Cause every night I lie in bed
The brightest colours fill my head
A million dreams are keeping me awake
Out in the middle of night, Hitoshi and Izuku meet up. Hitoshi tells of how he being sent away for school, and promises to write.
I think of what the world could be
A vision of the one I see
A million dreams is all it's gonna take
Oh a million dreams for the world we're gonna make
Izuku continues to live and work, while Hitoshi is sent to a boarding school. Like he promised, Hitoshi sends letters to Izuku.
There's a house we can build
Every room inside is filled
With things from far away
Years go by, and only a couple months until Hitoshi is sent back home, where Izuku waits patiently.
And he waits.
And waits.
The special things I compile
Each one there to make you smile
On a rainy day
The day Hitoshi returns, him and Izuku meet up once again.
They can say, they can say it all sounds crazy
They can say, they can say we've lost our minds
I don't care, I don't care if they call us crazy
Runaway to a world that we design
More years pass, with Hitoshi and Izuku building their own house. Both running away from their parents expectation, to live together.
Every night I lie in bed
The brightest colours fill my head
A million dreams are keeping me awake
I think of what the world could be
Each room holds things important to them, nothing flashy but something homey. Some rooms like the ones of their childhood, some ones that resemble new dreams.
A vision of the one I see
A million dreams is all it's gonna take
Oh a million dreams for the world we're gonna make
More years have passed, evident by the slow fainting of the paint on the house. Yet Hitoshi and Izuku? Still living in their own world, being with each other.
However big, however small
Let me be part of it all
Share your dreams with me
You may be right, you may be wrong
But say that you'll bring me along
To the world you see
To the world I close my eyes to see
I close my eyes to see
Soon later, a new circus appears across the country. One full of people who all are seeking out their dreams. One full of people who have all dreamed before. One run by Hitoshi and Izuku.
Every night I lie in bed
The brightest colours fill my head
A million dreams are keeping me awake
A million dreams, a million dreams
I think of what the world could be
A vision of the one I see
A million dreams is all it's gonna take
A million dreams for the world we're gonna make
For the world we're gonna make
Two gravestones lie side-by-side, next to the small house that is barely standing. Their family members and children mourning.
Two lovers, who created their own world and life, who fulfilled their dreams, who died together happily.
Two lovers who now wander and dance together in heaven, their souls resting peacefully.
